Good morning, Ricky here with your Monday Newsround. | :00:13. | :00:15.
First - the prime minister and the country's politicians will | :00:16. | :00:17.
today start working out what to do, after adults voted last week | :00:18. | :00:21.
for the UK to leave the club of 28 countries called the European Union. | :00:22. | :00:26.
Martin's been in London, looking into one of the big issues. | :00:27. | :00:35.
On Friday, we learned that UK decided to vote leave a club of | :00:36. | :00:42.
countries called the European union. One other big issues in this was | :00:43. | :00:47.
immigration, that when people decide to leave one country to live in | :00:48. | :00:52.
another. The people in charge of the Leave campaign say people from EU | :00:53. | :00:55.
countries already living here won't be asked to leave, but as I been | :00:56. | :01:00.
crying out, people are worried about what the decision means for them. I | :01:01. | :01:05.
spoke to some kids whose parents are from some EU countries, and they are | :01:06. | :01:14.
worried. My mum is from Ireland and live in the UK. My mum is Dutch, my | :01:15. | :01:18.
dad is Australian, and I was born in America. I live in the UK, my mum is | :01:19. | :01:27.
from Spain and my dad is from Ireland. How did you feel when you | :01:28. | :01:35.
hit the UK were leaving? I was quite sad. I started crying a bit. I was | :01:36. | :01:48.
really sad we left. It is not being part of a family. I feel slightly | :01:49. | :01:56.
less welcomed because I am not part of the UK, because the UK is not | :01:57. | :02:03.
part of the European union. I wasn't born here, I just live here. It will | :02:04. | :02:08.
affect us in the future. It will affect if you want to live in a | :02:09. | :02:13.
different country. I chose to live here since 1991, and I really love | :02:14. | :02:17.
this country, but I want to be able to travel between what used to be my | :02:18. | :02:21.
home country and here, and I want you to be able to do so. How will | :02:22. | :02:28.
this affect you? Well, I don't know yet, I didn't think anyone knows. I | :02:29. | :02:32.
want to think I'm still welcomed in this country, I will be able to stay | :02:33. | :02:38.
and my main worry is for you. I carry a British passport, so I am | :02:39. | :02:44.
fine. I don't know about you and your future. And the future of this | :02:45. | :02:49.
country we live in and love. Some able worried about what is going to | :02:50. | :02:54.
happen, but it is also important to say that some people are happy with | :02:55. | :02:57.
the result because they think it means a better future for children | :02:58. | :03:02.
living in the UK, but the people in charge of the league campaign say no | :03:03. | :03:06.
matter what happens, people from EU countries will be allowed to live | :03:07. | :03:08.
here in the future. And the result of the referendum | :03:09. | :03:10.
is big news in Scotland as well. Morning, Ricky. It is big news in | :03:11. | :03:25.
Scotland. That's because last week the UK as a whole voted to leave the | :03:26. | :03:30.
European Union, whereas in Scotland most of the people voted to stay in | :03:31. | :03:34.
the European union. There are big questions over whether or not | :03:35. | :03:38.
Scotland should become an independent country separate to the | :03:39. | :03:41.
UK. Joining me here our kids from the school to tell me more about | :03:42. | :03:49.
what they think. What do you think, should they be independent? I think | :03:50. | :03:53.
we should because we have more control. What did you think about | :03:54. | :03:58.
the boat? I think we shouldn't be part of the EU, so Europe and | :03:59. | :04:03.
Britain can associate and make cheaper prices for Britain. Do you | :04:04. | :04:09.
think there should be an independent Scotland? There should, so that when | :04:10. | :04:15.
we leave the UK we can go back into Europe and pay less money. What | :04:16. | :04:24.
about you? I think we should have stayed in the EU because leaving the | :04:25. | :04:28.
EU will affect the trading partners and the amount of budget we have. | :04:29. | :04:32.
Thank you very much, guides, lots of interesting comments. As you can | :04:33. | :04:37.
see, there were lots of people with different views, and that big vote | :04:38. | :04:40.
is having a big effect everywhere you look. | :04:41. | :04:43.
And if you want to find out more about the EU and the big vote, | :04:44. | :04:48.
then at Newsround online we have a special section | :04:49. | :04:50.
with what you need to know, including answers to some | :04:51. | :04:52.
of your questions about what the result means. | :04:53. | :04:55.
We're back at 8:15, where we'll have Jenny live in France with the latest | :04:56. | :04:59.
on England and their Euros match tonight. | :05:00. | :05:02. |
