Make sure you join us tomorrow morning. See you then. | :00:00. | :00:00.
You're live with Newsround this Friday morning. I'm Leah with | :00:00. | :00:08.
today's top stories plus some of this. The Northern Lights are back | :00:09. | :00:12.
and shining bright. The stars of The Dumping Ground tell | :00:13. | :00:16.
us about why they're tackling racism in football. | :00:17. | :00:21.
First to Ukraine where there has been further tensions overnight with | :00:22. | :00:26.
a group of non-government armed men trying to take control of the | :00:27. | :00:29.
airport in the capital of the Southern State of Crimea. It follows | :00:30. | :00:34.
similar unrest there yesterday when government buildings were taken over | :00:35. | :00:38.
too. It's all part of wider unrest that started because some Ukrainians | :00:39. | :00:41.
want to be closer to Europe than neighbouring Russia. America has | :00:42. | :00:46.
urged Russia to try and help rebuild Ukraine and not make things worse - | :00:47. | :00:49.
that after the Russian president put 150,000 troops on standby yesterday. | :00:50. | :01:01.
Now later today, The Dumping Ground tackles the subject of racism in | :01:02. | :01:06.
football. In today's episode Bailey is racially abused by his coach at a | :01:07. | :01:10.
football trial. Let's take a look. You are wasting your talent. You | :01:11. | :01:15.
have got bags of ability, but you haven't got it up here. I have seen | :01:16. | :01:20.
it with your type millions of times. What did he do to you? It is what he | :01:21. | :01:28.
called me. Joining me now are Leanne and Kasey | :01:29. | :01:32.
who play Faith and Bailey in the show. Let's talk more about the | :01:33. | :01:39.
storyline then. Well, the storyline is about Bailey. Everyone knows he | :01:40. | :01:44.
likes football. He goes to the trials. He is a bit cocky. He | :01:45. | :01:49.
doesn't really listen. The coach never liked him from the start, you | :01:50. | :01:57.
can just tell. Towards the end, the coach says something really nasty in | :01:58. | :02:02.
his ears and Bailey took it to heart and told no one. He felt confused | :02:03. | :02:09.
and felt alone. And then he turned to Faith. What was your role in | :02:10. | :02:14.
this? Faith and Bailey have funny relationship. They are close, but | :02:15. | :02:17.
they're not. She knows him and she knows straightaway that something is | :02:18. | :02:21.
not right and he is not acting himself. She keeps probing and | :02:22. | :02:25.
probing and it comes out and she didn't expect it to be that, I don't | :02:26. | :02:29.
think. What was it like playing this storyline out? It looked full of | :02:30. | :02:34.
tension that clip that we just saw? It was hard. It was really hard. | :02:35. | :02:41.
Even though it wasn't real, it felt so real and even though they never | :02:42. | :02:51.
whispered anything in my ear. I knew what and that was a really important | :02:52. | :02:55.
episode. What was it important? You must get loads of storylines. Why | :02:56. | :03:00.
was it important for you to be part of this? Because it is something | :03:01. | :03:03.
that's still happening and it shouldn't be, but it is and you | :03:04. | :03:06.
know, when you start to like research certain things when you | :03:07. | :03:13.
delve into certain storylines, it is heartbreaking to think it is still | :03:14. | :03:18.
happening. And that's on CBBC at 5.30pm today. Thank you for join us. | :03:19. | :03:24.
Well, there is a bit of a history of racism in the sport and often it's | :03:25. | :03:33.
fans who are blamed. But Kick It Out, an organisation who campaign | :03:34. | :03:36.
for equality in football say in some cases it can come from team-mates | :03:37. | :03:40.
and coaches too. So what should you do if you hear or experience racist | :03:41. | :03:43.
abuse on the pitch? For children that are hearing racists abuse, one | :03:44. | :03:46.
is report it to an adult, a parent or career. Someone they trust. | :03:47. | :03:49.
Someone they believe that will work on their best behalf in trying to | :03:50. | :03:53.
get a resolution to whatever the problem is they may have. Like I | :03:54. | :04:03.
say, Kick It Out, we have an app and children can report incidents that | :04:04. | :04:07.
we will deal with on their behalf. Well, Kasey and Faith are sticking | :04:08. | :04:10.
round this morning and if you want to ask them anything about their | :04:11. | :04:13.
acting career, what it's like to work on a TV show or whatever you | :04:14. | :04:17.
want you can get your questions in over on the Newsround website. | :04:18. | :04:21.
Spurs pulled off an amazing comeback last night to make it through to the | :04:22. | :04:26.
last 16 of the Europa League. They were 2-0 down on aggregate to | :04:27. | :04:29.
Ukrainian side Dnipro mid-way through the second half. But a | :04:30. | :04:32.
rousing second-half saw them get the three goals they needed. Two from | :04:33. | :04:35.
Emmanuel Adebayor. Swansea lost to Napoli. | :04:36. | :04:45.
Finally sky gazers across the UK got a rare treat last night. The | :04:46. | :04:48.
Northern Lights are created by electrically charged particles from | :04:49. | :04:51.
the sun entering the Earth's atmosphere. Images like these were | :04:52. | :04:54.
seen by people from the north of Scotland right down to Essex in | :04:55. | :04:56.
south-east England. Amazing. That's all from me. We're back in | :04:57. | :04:58.
half an hour. Bye-bye. | :04:59. | :05:00. |
