Hi, everyone.

0:00:100:00:11

Leah here with your Friday Newsround.

0:00:110:00:14

First, Hillary Clinton has officially agreed to run for US

0:00:140:00:17

president for her political party, the Democrats.

0:00:170:00:19

She has made history by becoming the first woman ever to be nominated

0:00:190:00:22

for the White House job by a major party.

0:00:220:00:25

Hillary has promised to unite the country and improve

0:00:250:00:27

the lives of all Americans, if she beats rival Donald Trump in

0:00:270:00:31

the race to win November's election.

0:00:310:00:34

The person the American people choose, will make important

0:00:340:00:36

decisions about how the US is run and how it works

0:00:360:00:39

with other countries.

0:00:390:00:41

I accept your nomination for President of the United States.

0:00:410:00:46

CHEERING

0:00:460:00:48

Yes, the world is watching what we do.

0:00:480:00:52

Yes, America's destiny is ours to choose.

0:00:520:00:56

So let's be stronger together, my fellow Americans.

0:00:560:01:02

And you can find out more about Hillary Clinton

0:01:020:01:04

and the American Presidential election online.

0:01:040:01:09

We are exactly one week away from the official start

0:01:090:01:11

of the Rio Olympic Games in Brazil.

0:01:110:01:13

The event will see over 10,000 athletes from around 200 nations

0:01:130:01:16

come together to compete in 28 sports, including athletics,

0:01:160:01:21

swimming and even wrestling.

0:01:210:01:23

Team GB will be hoping to win loads of medals.

0:01:230:01:26

The BBC's Olympic reporter Nick Hope has given us insider info

0:01:260:01:29

on which British stars to watch out for.

0:01:290:01:32

Hi, Newsround.

0:01:320:01:34

Yes, we're just days away from the Rio Olympics,

0:01:340:01:36

an event so big it's called the greatest show on Earth.

0:01:360:01:39

Many of the athletes have already travelled to Brazil

0:01:390:01:41

to begin their final preparations so here are my top five

0:01:410:01:44

ones to watch in Rio.

0:01:440:01:49

Teenager Amber Hill started shooting when she was just ten.

0:01:510:01:54

She has her own special pink cartridges and hopes those

0:01:540:01:57

will help her become the first British woman to win an Olympic

0:01:570:02:00

shooting gold medal.

0:02:000:02:03

Adam Peaty is a swimming sensation.

0:02:030:02:05

He's won Commonwealth, European and World gold medals over

0:02:050:02:08

the last two years and is looking to complete his set

0:02:080:02:11

with an Olympic title.

0:02:110:02:15

Britain has some of the best taekwondo fighters on the planet

0:02:150:02:17

and Bianca Walkden is a major star.

0:02:170:02:19

She won World gold in 2015 and wants more success in Rio.

0:02:190:02:26

Ellie Downie only stepped up to senior gymnastic competitions

0:02:260:02:28

last year, but has already won several major titles and will be

0:02:280:02:32

bidding for both individual and team medals.

0:02:320:02:38

Finally, Katarina Johnson-Thompson, the heptathlete, competes

0:02:380:02:40

in a incredible seven events and is amongst the favourites

0:02:400:02:43

to secure gold, but she'll be up against her teammate,

0:02:430:02:47

defending champion Jess Ennis-Hill.

0:02:470:02:51

So all five athletes will be hoping to win big for Team GB and you'll be

0:02:510:02:55

able to catch the best of the action on the Newsround website

0:02:550:02:58

throughout the Olympics.

0:02:580:03:01

Now one of the largest ever dinosaur footprints has been found

0:03:010:03:03

in Bolivia in South America.

0:03:030:03:05

It's more than a metre across and is thought to have

0:03:050:03:08

belonged to a type of dinosaur called an Abelisaurus.

0:03:080:03:13

Amidst the dry and dusty hills of central Bolivia,

0:03:130:03:16

a remarkable discovery.

0:03:160:03:19

Hidden beneath rocks and boulders, a footprint preserved in time.

0:03:190:03:24

A footprint that's thought to be tens of millions of years

0:03:240:03:27

old and much larger than expected.

0:03:270:03:33

TRANSLATION: The abelisaurus were the great carnivores of the end

0:03:330:03:35

of the Cretaceous period in the southern hemisphere.

0:03:350:03:39

Footprints this large have never been reported.

0:03:390:03:42

Their normal size was around nine metres, large animals,

0:03:420:03:45

however the footprints we found were for an animal that easily

0:03:450:03:48

exceeds ten or even 12 metres.

0:03:480:03:51

The Abelisaurus was similar to the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

0:03:510:03:55

Both part of the Theropod group of dinosaurs.

0:03:550:03:59

Like the T-Rex it's believed to have lived in the late Cretaceous period,

0:03:590:04:03

somewhere around 60 to 80 million years ago.

0:04:030:04:07

Whereas its more famous cousin roamed around north America,

0:04:070:04:11

the abelisaurus could be found in south America.

0:04:110:04:14

And it was unlikely to be lonely.

0:04:140:04:17

In this area of Bolivia thousands of footprints have been discovered

0:04:170:04:20

and children are getting the chance to see replica dinosaurs.

0:04:200:04:25

80 million years ago they could have seen the real thing.

0:04:250:04:30

And last up, this might not be millions of years old but it's

0:04:300:04:34

still pretty amazing.

0:04:340:04:35

Lava from the Kilauea volcano in Hawaii started erupting two

0:04:350:04:37

months ago and has been moving on a six-mile journey

0:04:370:04:41

towards the coast since.

0:04:410:04:43

It's now reached the Pacific Ocean and this stunning video

0:04:430:04:46

shows the hot liquid rock falling off the cliffs.

0:04:460:04:49

Officials there say that the lava isn't putting any towns at risk.

0:04:490:04:53

That's all from me.

0:04:530:04:54

Newsround's back right here in about half an hour.

0:04:540:04:57

Bye!
