APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:04:430:04:45

Oh, ladies and gentlemen, thank you, folks!

0:04:450:04:47

All right, we're going to keep it going. This is one off my new album,

0:04:490:04:53

called A Girl Like You. Here we go!

0:04:530:04:54

# Well, I've been through a couple of romances

0:05:120:05:15

# And I've had a few heartbreaks

0:05:150:05:17

# But when you're looking for a one-in-a million girl

0:05:170:05:20

# I guess that's a chance you take

0:05:200:05:22

# You've still got to go through the motions

0:05:230:05:25

# Even though you might get hurt

0:05:250:05:27

# So, I set my sights every Saturday night

0:05:270:05:30

# For the love I've fought for

0:05:300:05:33

# For a girl like you

0:05:330:05:35

# A girl like you

0:05:360:05:37

# There ain't nothing that a good old boy like me won't do

0:05:390:05:43

# For a heart so true

0:05:440:05:46

# And eyes so blue

0:05:460:05:49

# I've been searching like an old bloodhound

0:05:490:05:51

# All around for a girl like you

0:05:510:05:54

# Hey, yeah!

0:05:560:05:57

# A lot of small-town boys don't know when to leave home

0:06:040:06:07

# For bigger and better things

0:06:070:06:09

# But all I ever wanted was a girl like you

0:06:090:06:12

# A picket fence and a front porch swing

0:06:120:06:14

# It's not beneath that neon

0:06:140:06:17

# That the light of my life still shines

0:06:170:06:20

# And I know down deep you're the one for me

0:06:200:06:23

# And I'm ready to walk the line

0:06:230:06:25

# For a girl like you

0:06:250:06:27

# A girl like you

0:06:280:06:30

# There ain't nothing that a good old boy like me won't do

0:06:310:06:36

# For a heart so true

0:06:360:06:38

# And eyes so blue

0:06:380:06:41

# I've been searching like an old bloodhound

0:06:410:06:44

# All around for a girl like you

0:06:440:06:46

# Oh, swing it, girl!

0:06:470:06:49

# Well, I'll definitely marry a girl like you

0:07:060:07:09

# My grandad and before him his daddy, too

0:07:120:07:14

# I grew up next door to a girl like you

0:07:170:07:20

# All I ever wanted was to share my life

0:07:200:07:23

# With a girl like you

0:07:230:07:25

# With a girl like you

0:07:250:07:27

# There ain't nothing that a good old boy like me won't do

0:07:280:07:33

# For a heart so true

0:07:330:07:35

# And eyes so blue

0:07:360:07:38

# I've been searching like an old bloodhound

0:07:380:07:41

# All around for a girl like you

0:07:410:07:44

# I've been searching like an old bloodhound

0:07:440:07:47

# Nose to the ground All around, up and down this town

0:07:470:07:51

# For a girl like you

0:07:510:07:53

# Hey, yeah!

0:07:540:07:55

# A girl like you. #

0:07:570:07:59

Ah, ladies and gentlemen, thank you so much!

0:08:050:08:08

Jim Devine, ladies and gentlemen! How about that?

0:08:080:08:10

You're playing a blinder!

0:08:100:08:12

Fantastic.

0:08:120:08:14

HE SINGS

0:08:370:08:40

It really all took off for me when I went for The Voice of Ireland.

0:08:420:08:46

My first love was country music. We used to be singing country

0:08:460:08:49

all the time and I got to perform a few country songs on the show.

0:08:490:08:53

I knew, once the show had finished, that's what I wanted to do -

0:08:530:08:57

launch another country scene here in Ireland.

0:08:570:08:59

Up in the North here, the country scene is really, really strong,

0:09:090:09:13

because you are getting all age groups going to the country shows.

0:09:130:09:17

You've got grandparents and parents and their sons and daughters -

0:09:170:09:20

a real variety of people go to the shows.

0:09:200:09:21

I've been brought up on farm. When I come home, we go out

0:09:320:09:36

and go about the farm and chill out for a while.

0:09:360:09:38

I suppose people would say they are therapeutic, in a way,

0:09:380:09:41

but they are out there and I just come home sometimes

0:09:410:09:44

and check on them and it's good to walk out round them and chill out.

0:09:440:09:47

Part of the river is the Mourne River,

0:09:570:09:59

just outside Newtownstewart.

0:09:590:10:01

It's a very popular spot for fishing - salmon fishing.

0:10:010:10:04

It's a great spot to come down and just get away from the scene,

0:10:040:10:07

the music scene, for a few hours. It's a lovely part of the world and,

0:10:070:10:11

hopefully, we'll have a bit of luck today.

0:10:110:10:14

My wife just hands me the two babies right away!

0:10:300:10:33

"It's your turn," she'll say! Ella, she's three,

0:10:330:10:36

and Caitlin, she's nine months.

0:10:360:10:38

Two girls and they are absolutely brilliant.

0:10:380:10:42

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:10:500:10:52

Now, music has been a very important aspect in your family.

0:10:520:10:55

It has been handed down through the generations.

0:10:550:10:59

-Your grandfather was a great fiddle player.

-That's right.

0:10:590:11:02

That's right. And my father was a singer, and my uncles.

0:11:020:11:05

Just steeped in it. It's in the blood.

0:11:050:11:07

How do you choose the songs or the new songs you do with the band?

0:11:070:11:12

I am always looking for, you know, always looking for the next hit,

0:11:120:11:15

I suppose. We are always looking for jives, because people come out to

0:11:150:11:20

-the shows and they...

-They love the dancing.

0:11:200:11:22

So, it's just you are always looking for that next hit, I suppose.

0:11:220:11:27

Now, you have a fine herd of cattle at home, not to mention...

0:11:270:11:31

CHEERING

0:11:310:11:33

..not to mention the ornamental poultry.

0:11:330:11:35

Who in the name of the Good Lord

0:11:350:11:37

looks after them when you're away, like this?

0:11:370:11:39

Just my parents back home live on the farm when I'm away.

0:11:390:11:42

No, it's just I come from a farming background, so I did,

0:11:420:11:46

but I haven't got much time for them at the minute, cos I'm on the road

0:11:460:11:49

with the band, but it's good to come back and chill out for a few hours.

0:11:490:11:53

# Darlin'

0:12:020:12:04

# I'm feeling pretty lonesome

0:12:050:12:08

# I'd call you on the phone some

0:12:090:12:11

# But I don't have a dime

0:12:130:12:16

# Darlin'

0:12:180:12:20

# You're so far behind me

0:12:210:12:24

# Tomorrow's gonna find me

0:12:250:12:28

# Further down the line

0:12:290:12:33

# Take a piece of paper

0:12:330:12:36

# A pencil in my hand

0:12:370:12:41

# I'm gonna write

0:12:410:12:42

# Darlin'

0:12:420:12:44

# You know I feel the cold nights

0:12:450:12:48

# Thinking of the old nights

0:12:490:12:52

# Spent along with you

0:12:530:12:55

# Darlin'

0:12:580:13:00

# I love you more than ever

0:13:010:13:04

# I wish we were together

0:13:050:13:09

# Darlin' of mine. #

0:13:090:13:11

# I'm praying for rain in California

0:13:210:13:28

# So the grapes can grow

0:13:290:13:32

# And they can make more wine

0:13:320:13:36

# And I'm a-sitting

0:13:370:13:39

# In a honky in Chicago

0:13:390:13:45

# With a broken heart

0:13:460:13:48

# And a woman on my mind... #

0:13:480:13:51

I want to hear you sing along. Here we go!

0:13:510:13:53

-# I asked the man

-I asked the man

0:13:530:13:55

-# Behind the bar

-Behind the bar

0:13:550:13:58

# For the jukebox

0:13:580:14:00

# And the music

0:14:020:14:03

# Takes me back to Tennessee

0:14:030:14:08

# When he asked

0:14:090:14:11

# "Who's the fool

0:14:110:14:13

# "In the corner, cryin'?"

0:14:130:14:17

# I say

0:14:170:14:19

"Little ole wine drinker me"

0:14:190:14:23

# Well, I came here last week

0:14:290:14:32

# From down in Nashville

0:14:320:14:36

# Cos my baby

0:14:370:14:39

# Left for Florida on a train

0:14:390:14:44

# I thought I'd get a job

0:14:440:14:48

# And just forget her

0:14:480:14:51

# But in Chicago

0:14:530:14:55

# A broken heart is still the same... #

0:14:550:14:59

Are you ready?! Here we go!

0:14:590:15:00

-# I asked the man

-I asked the man

0:15:000:15:03

-# Behind the bar

-Behind the bar

0:15:030:15:05

# When I first met you

0:36:330:36:35

# We were just children

0:36:350:36:38

# But I knew I hurt you

0:36:380:36:40

# Even way back then

0:36:400:36:43

# I made you a promise from the very start

0:36:430:36:48

# I'd never hurt you or break your heart

0:36:480:36:52

# And I'll work all week

0:39:280:39:32

# He called her on the road

0:40:310:40:34

# From a lonely cold hotel room

0:40:340:40:38

# Just to hear her say I love you one more time

0:40:380:40:45

# And when he heard the sound of the kids laughing in the background

0:40:460:40:53

# He had to wipe away a tear from his eye

0:40:530:40:59

# Little voice came on the phone

0:41:000:41:03

# She said, Daddy, when you coming home?

0:41:030:41:07

# He said the first thing that came to his mind

0:41:070:41:13

# I'm already there

0:41:130:41:16

# Take a look around

0:41:160:41:20

# I'm the sunshine in your hair

0:41:200:41:24

# I'm the shadow on the ground

0:41:240:41:27

# I'm the whisper in the wind

0:41:270:41:31

# I'm your imaginary friend

0:41:310:41:35

# And I know

0:41:360:41:39

# That I'm in your prayers

0:41:390:41:42

# Oh, I'm already there

0:41:420:41:47

# She got back on the phone

0:41:510:41:54

# Said, I really miss you, darling

0:41:540:41:58

# Don't worry about the kids, they'll be all right

0:41:580:42:04

# I wish I was in your arms

0:42:060:42:09

# Lying right there beside you

0:42:090:42:13

# But I know that I'll be in your dreams tonight

0:42:130:42:20

# And I'll gently kiss your lips

0:42:200:42:24

# And touch you with my fingertips

0:42:240:42:27

# So turn out the light and close your eyes

0:42:270:42:33

# Already there

0:42:330:42:36

# Don't make a sound

0:42:360:42:40

# I'm the beat in your heart

0:42:400:42:44

# I'm the moonlight shining down

0:42:440:42:47

# I'm the whisper in the wind

0:42:470:42:51

# And I'll be there till the end

0:42:510:42:56

# Can't you feel

0:42:560:42:58

# The love that we share?

0:42:580:43:02

# Oh, I'm already there

0:43:020:43:06

# We may be a thousand miles apart

0:43:080:43:14

# But I'll be with you

0:43:150:43:18

# Wherever you are

0:43:180:43:23

# Already there

0:43:240:43:26

# Take a look around

0:43:280:43:29

# I'm the sunshine in your hair

0:43:310:43:34

# I'm the shadow on the ground

0:43:340:43:37

# I'm the whisper in the wind

0:43:380:43:42

# And I'll be there till the end

0:43:420:43:46

# Can't you feel

0:43:460:43:49

# The love that we share?

0:43:490:43:53

# Oh, I'm already there

0:43:530:44:00

# Oh, I'm already

0:44:000:44:06

# There. #

0:44:060:44:10

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:44:190:44:22

Folks, thank you so much.

0:44:220:44:23

# Leighann loves to dance

0:44:260:44:28

# Leighann loves to dance, when the music starts... #

0:44:280:44:31

# When the music plays if you give her half a chance... #

0:44:370:44:41

-How are you?

-Hello, how are you?

-Good to see you.

-Nice to see you.

0:45:520:45:56

So, Anne-Marie, when did you first see the band, me and the band?

0:45:560:46:01

-In the Allingham Arms in Bundoran.

-Allingham Arms?

-Yeah.

0:46:010:46:03

-Well, was it a good night?

-Oh, it was a great night.

-Enjoyed it?

0:46:030:46:06

Yeah, we had a great night, yeah.

0:46:060:46:07

-Dancing all night?

-Danced all night, yeah.

0:46:070:46:09

Never left the floor, I don't think we left the floor at all.

0:46:090:46:12

We always have a good night no matter when we go up.

0:46:150:46:17

What do you think of the scene in Donegal, the dancing scene?

0:46:170:46:20

-It's getting really big.

-It's massive, isn't it?

0:46:200:46:22

-It's popular, yeah.

-In Donegal and all around, it's crazy.

0:46:220:46:25

-Seems to be a younger crowd, just.

-Younger?

-Yeah.

0:46:250:46:27

-A lot of mixed ones...

-Yeah, there's a mix.

-..coming to the shows.

0:46:270:46:30

# Yeah, me and my band gonna cross the land

0:46:320:46:35

# We're putting on a show... #

0:46:350:46:36

-So tell me, any favourite songs?

-Ireland's Turning Country.

0:46:360:46:39

Ireland's Turning Country? That one is very popular,

0:46:390:46:42

very popular with dancers, now. And...

0:46:420:46:44

Wait till you see, I'll make sure to dedicate it to you up in Newry.

0:46:440:46:47

-That's great. That's brilliant.

-Cool.

-I'll be waiting for it.

0:46:470:46:51

All right, folks, this is Ireland's Turning Country. Here we go.

0:46:540:46:58

Let's see the hands.

0:47:000:47:01

# Oh, Ireland's turning country

0:47:050:47:07

# That's the word out on the street

0:47:070:47:10

# And everywhere you go

0:47:100:47:12

# Toes are tapping to the beat

0:47:120:47:14

# And all across the nation

0:47:140:47:17

# When the weekend comes around

0:47:170:47:19

# They're out there country jiving

0:47:190:47:22

# In the cities and the towns

0:47:220:47:24

# Now, when the band begin to play

0:47:240:47:28

# Everybody hits the floor

0:47:280:47:30

# When the music's over

0:47:300:47:33

# They all still shout for more

0:47:330:47:36

# Oh, Ireland's turning country

0:47:360:47:39

# Everywhere you go

0:47:390:47:41

# From Cork right up to Donegal

0:47:410:47:43

# From Dublin to Mayo

0:47:430:47:46

# Me and my band gonna cross the land

0:47:460:47:49

# We're putting on a show

0:47:490:47:51

# People say it's here to stay

0:47:510:47:54

# Ireland's turning country

0:47:540:47:56

# I met a pretty little jiving queen

0:48:010:48:04

# At the country dance one night

0:48:040:48:06

# I asked her on the floor

0:48:060:48:08

# And we danced all through the night

0:48:080:48:12

# When we went slow-dancing

0:48:120:48:14

# She held me so tight

0:48:140:48:16

# Now we've been together

0:48:160:48:18

# Since she danced into my life

0:48:180:48:21

# Now, when the band begin to play

0:48:210:48:24

# Everybody hits the floor

0:48:240:48:27

# When the music's over

0:48:270:48:29

# They all start shouting for more

0:48:290:48:32

# Oh, Ireland's turning country

0:48:320:48:35

# Everywhere you go

0:48:350:48:37

# From Cork right up to Donegal

0:48:370:48:40

# From Dublin to Mayo

0:48:400:48:42

# Me and my band gonna cross the land

0:48:420:48:44

# We're putting on a show

0:48:440:48:47

# People say it's here to stay

0:48:470:48:49

# Ireland's turning country

0:48:490:48:52

# Now, when the band begin to play

0:49:130:49:16

# Everybody hits the floor

0:49:160:49:18

# When the music's over

0:49:180:49:21

# They all start shouting for more

0:49:210:49:23

# Ireland's turning country

0:49:230:49:26

# It's everywhere you go

0:49:260:49:29

# From Cork right up to Donegal

0:49:290:49:31

# From Dublin to Mayo

0:49:310:49:34

# Yeah, me and my band gonna cross the land

0:49:340:49:38

# We're putting on a show

0:49:380:49:40

# People say it's here to stay

0:49:400:49:42

# Ireland's turning country... #

0:49:420:49:44

One more time!

0:49:440:49:46

# Oh, Ireland's turning country

0:49:460:49:48

# Everywhere you go

0:49:480:49:50

# From Cork right up to Donegal

0:49:500:49:53

# From Dublin to Mayo

0:49:530:49:55

# Me and my band gonna cross the land

0:49:550:49:58

# We're putting on a show

0:49:580:50:00

# People say it's here to stay

0:50:000:50:03

# Ireland's turning country

0:50:030:50:06

# I do believe it's here to stay

0:50:060:50:09

# Ireland's turning country... #

0:50:090:50:12

CHEERING

0:50:160:50:18

That song was dedicated to my very good friend, Anne Marie Ferry.

0:50:180:50:23

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:50:430:50:46

# As I stand above the starboard bow

0:50:520:50:58

# And watch the ocean foam

0:50:580:51:02

# As I view each new horizon

0:51:020:51:06

# I grow further from my home

0:51:060:51:11

# I'm sailing on a foreign ship

0:51:110:51:16

# That's bound for Montreal

0:51:160:51:20

# But I'll view the world

0:51:200:51:23

# And make my destination Donegal

0:51:230:51:30

# I'd make my way from Malin

0:51:300:51:34

# To Bundoran through Raphoe

0:51:340:51:38

# Or Portsalon down to Killybegs

0:51:380:51:43

# By Creeslough and Dungloe

0:51:430:51:48

# I'd wander round by Barnesmore Gap

0:51:480:51:53

# On everyone I'd call

0:51:530:51:57

# There, beyond the Bluestack Mountains

0:51:570:52:01

# In the town of Donegal... #

0:52:010:52:06

Lovely, Jim.

0:52:060:52:07

# Oh, Donegal, I miss you

0:52:160:52:20

# And I'll never understand

0:52:200:52:24

# Why I left you for these foreign lands

0:52:240:52:30

# Against my heart's command

0:52:300:52:34

# Whatever fortune comes my way

0:52:340:52:39

# Whatever may befall

0:52:390:52:43

# I know I'll make my final destination Donegal... #

0:52:430:52:52

All together.

0:52:520:52:53

# I'd make my way from Malin

0:52:530:52:58

# To Bundoran through Raphoe

0:52:580:53:02

# Or Portsalon down to Killybegs

0:53:020:53:06

# By Creeslough and Dungloe

0:53:060:53:11

# I'd wander round by Barnesmore Gap

0:53:110:53:16

# On everyone I'd call

0:53:160:53:20

# There, beyond the Bluestack Mountains

0:53:200:53:25

# In the town of Donegal

0:53:250:53:29

# I know I'll make my final destination

0:53:290:53:36

# Donegal. #

0:53:360:53:42

Good on you, Jim.

0:53:420:53:44

CHEERING

0:54:000:54:02

All right, folks, I want to see you all clapping hands.

0:54:060:54:09

Saw You Running!

0:54:090:54:11

AUDIENCE CLAPS IN TIME

0:54:130:54:15

# When I lay down to take my rest

0:54:290:54:34

# Most of the time

0:54:340:54:36

# My mind's on happiness

0:54:360:54:40

# Some of the time

0:54:400:54:42

# But not for long

0:54:420:54:44

# I got a feeling

0:54:440:54:47

# Something's yet to come

0:54:470:54:49

# I got a picture

0:54:490:54:50

# Show me what's undone

0:54:500:54:52

# When I found out that you don't love me

0:54:520:54:56

# When I found out that you're going away

0:54:560:54:58

# There'll be no surprise because I saw you running

0:54:580:55:01

# Saw you running from where I lay

0:55:010:55:03

# There'll be no surprise because I saw you running

0:55:030:55:06

# Saw you running from where I lay

0:55:060:55:08

# I got an eye

0:55:080:55:11

# Upon on the road

0:55:110:55:14

# I've got a hand

0:55:140:55:17

# To share my heavy load

0:55:170:55:20

# I've got a girl

0:55:200:55:22

# And I've got a gun

0:55:220:55:25

# Oh, one is for fighting

0:55:250:55:27

# The other one's just for fun

0:55:270:55:29
