Police investigating the murder of Aberdeenshire handyman

Brian McKandie say they're following new lines of inquiry.

The 67-year-old was found beaten to death in his home

Brian McKandie was violently attacked with a heavy weapon. His

body was discovered on the 12th of March in his home. In the past few

days, please have been asking people for more information and officers

stopped car is and asked drivers to fill in questionnaires. As a result,

they have new information, but they are still keen to trace two men seen

with Mr McKandie before he died. They are asking residents in homes

if they have seen anything suspicious with leaflets.

Police have released CCTV images of three men they believe may

be able to help with inquiries into a serious assault in Glasgow

A 26-year-old man was seriously injured in an attack

near the Cathouse nightclub on Union Street on Wednesday

Police said a zimmer or support frame was also thrown

Officers urged anyone who recognised the three men to contact them.

Demolition teams have been brought in to pull down the remains of two

units on an industrial estate in Port Glasgow,

which were destroyed by a serious fire.

Around 25 firefighters battled flames and thick smoke

in the workshops, which housed buses and other vehicles.

Conservationists say they're confident no black rats have

survived a winter-long cull on the Shiants,

an uninhabited group of islands in the Minch.
