Hello and welcome back to Augusta National on what is one of the great

:00:26.:00:33.

days in any sport. Masters Sunday, a day when tailor-made excellence is

:00:34.:00:37.

rewarded with a Green Jacket in this the 80th playing of the tournament.

:00:38.:00:43.

So sit back, relax, we are with you live and with no distractions until

:00:44.:00:47.

midnight and even beyond if that is what it takes as we settle down and

:00:48.:00:49.

enjoy the magic of the Masters. Maybe! Yes, sir!

:00:50.:01:03.

Here it is! A life changer! He has got it! Oh, while! There it

:01:04.:01:16.

is! Yes! Oh, what a shot! Absolutely

:01:17.:01:44.

incredible. An unbelievable shot by Mickelson!

:01:45.:02:13.

Jordan Spieth has been in control of this tournament since day one and

:02:14.:02:20.

his astonishing frontrunning abilities have been evident in the

:02:21.:02:24.

last seven rounds this year and last where he has held the outright lead.

:02:25.:02:28.

But he has led something of a charmed life in the last couple of

:02:29.:02:30.

days. Andrew Cotter looks back. Augusta is

:02:31.:02:36.

a place that has an effect on people and for our still young man from

:02:37.:02:42.

Texas, it transforms him from outstanding to a near untouchables.

:02:43.:02:44.

Defending champion Jordan Spieth began as if he had not been away, a

:02:45.:02:50.

66 was without fault and a sign for those chasing. At this stage, a

:02:51.:02:56.

strong challenge from Britain and from Ireland. Shane Lowry fought the

:02:57.:03:01.

wind so well for a 68. England had three close at hand in Casey,

:03:02.:03:05.

Poulter and Justin Rose. World number one Jason Day was in a stroke

:03:06.:03:11.

of Jordan Spieth big -- before falling back to level par. Rory

:03:12.:03:15.

McIlroy offered a good and bad, in the end, a 2-under 70. It was one of

:03:16.:03:21.

the so-called big three setting the pace. Jordan Spieth, the man to

:03:22.:03:26.

catch once more. A new day and the same conditions, windy and cool,

:03:27.:03:30.

scoring high. McIlroy was making a move, doing as he had to, scoring

:03:31.:03:36.

well on the back nine par fives. A ceremony for a former champion who

:03:37.:03:42.

bought for the last time up the final hole, Tom Watson. Ian Woosnam

:03:43.:03:50.

also took his lead. Dashes life. And amateur Bryson DeChambeau threatened

:03:51.:03:53.

the lead before a closing seven, not part of his equation. But it was be

:03:54.:03:59.

fleeting. Although by a slender margin as he also struggled with the

:04:00.:04:05.

wind -- it was Jordan Spieth leading. He would lead by only one

:04:06.:04:10.

and he would now play with McIlroy. Perhaps the scoring was too low last

:04:11.:04:15.

year and perhaps this was Augusta's revenge. Wind blowing and balls

:04:16.:04:19.

becoming machines of near perpetual motion so time for a steady and, and

:04:20.:04:24.

older head. Magic from Bernhard Langer. At 58, he would finish

:04:25.:04:31.

1-under, one better than his partner Jason Day, still in touch. Then

:04:32.:04:35.

there was tradition to ignore from Smylie Kaufman, new boys do not

:04:36.:04:39.

farewell at Augusta, they say. But this rookie was the only man to

:04:40.:04:44.

break 70. It is becoming Masters custom at McIlroy will have one

:04:45.:04:48.

costly round here but still in touch, as Spieth who had scrambled

:04:49.:04:54.

so well to save his wayward game finally broke on the last. A

:04:55.:05:00.

double-bogey. And those now not far behind could believe again. The

:05:01.:05:04.

chase is on for the final day at the Masters.

:05:05.:05:08.

It is on, all right! Jordan Spieth held a four shot lead when he

:05:09.:05:12.

stepped onto the 17th yesterday but finished one ahead of the field.

:05:13.:05:17.

Alabama's Smylie Kaufman closest in his Masters debut. In a tie for

:05:18.:05:21.

third, the remarkable Bernhard Langer who still believes he can win

:05:22.:05:25.

a third Green Jacket at 58. The superb youngster Hideki Matsuyama

:05:26.:05:31.

who could be Japan's first ever male Masters winner. And it is a day of

:05:32.:05:39.

30 mph winds. Ready to charge, the trio. Former runner-up Lee Westwood

:05:40.:05:49.

only four away. And Rory McIlroy starts at five behind for a tie for

:05:50.:05:52.

11th. Only once in Masters history has the

:05:53.:05:56.

winner not been in the top ten at the beginning of the final round.

:05:57.:06:00.

But the winds have abated considerably in Augusta and it has

:06:01.:06:04.

switched around from north-westerly to north-easterly, light breezes, up

:06:05.:06:09.

to 12 mph, a lot cooler today, 67 degrees. The forecast is 80 degrees

:06:10.:06:14.

tomorrow, looks like we have missed that he! Play began at the 40 five

:06:15.:06:21.

p.m.. We are waiting for full live coverage from our host broadcaster

:06:22.:06:26.

at around about seven o'clock. In the meantime, live golf is available

:06:27.:06:30.

on the BBC's board website and the Red Button and we will chew the fat

:06:31.:06:34.

about what might be to day with two men who have wrestled with this

:06:35.:06:38.

course in Augusta on a Sunday. Ollie Zinger and Ken Browne. Jordan

:06:39.:06:45.

Spieth, he defended against Rory McIlroy, how much hope has that

:06:46.:06:48.

slipped at the finish of that reveals today? A massive amount. He

:06:49.:06:55.

bogeyed the 17th yesterday and double-bogey at the 18th. He is now

:06:56.:06:59.

only one ahead. Psychologically, I am not sure that will affect him, I

:07:00.:07:04.

think he is so strong willed and such a lot of confidence, it will

:07:05.:07:07.

not have knocked much out of him. But he has lost what would be a

:07:08.:07:11.

reasonable read. Let's talk numbers, what should the others be aiming for

:07:12.:07:18.

and should Spieth slip up? I think the guys at one or 2-over feel they

:07:19.:07:24.

have a chance. Augusta National on a Sunday offers somebody a chance to

:07:25.:07:28.

make a charge. The holes, they are in far easier positions. The greens

:07:29.:07:32.

still blazing fast and still terrifying out there. And with

:07:33.:07:36.

Masters pressure, they have to be in tune with how they feel as they have

:07:37.:07:40.

to just meant we swing with certainty, that is key. Can you

:07:41.:07:44.

swing with certainty when the pressure is at its highest? He

:07:45.:07:48.

certainly could, Jordan Spieth, the less two years. In his press

:07:49.:07:52.

conference after the slip-up, he said he was going home to break

:07:53.:07:55.

something quickly! The only thing he is used to breaking here as records.

:07:56.:07:59.

These are his reflections on that close into his third round last

:08:00.:08:01.

night. I thought I had putted the ball

:08:02.:08:14.

unbelievably well today. I mean, a lot of putts from 4-8 feet and I

:08:15.:08:17.

thought that was key. Beautifully done, right in the

:08:18.:08:23.

middle, Spieth for now leading by two.

:08:24.:08:26.

I certainly think down the stretch I am better prepared now than I was at

:08:27.:08:29.

this point is Jeff. He has done it again. It is magical

:08:30.:08:33.

stuff. -- this point last year. I struck my

:08:34.:08:35.

irons fantastic. Magnificent. It was a tough hole 111.

:08:36.:08:54.

-- 111. Putt down the hill for bogey. Quite

:08:55.:08:59.

extraordinary. It was a great bounce back on 12, a great putt.

:09:00.:09:04.

Good opportunity for Borden Dashwood Jordan Spieth. And he has got it!

:09:05.:09:10.

Just at the right moment. This to open up a four shot lead.

:09:11.:09:16.

That was one of the best birdies I have made here, at 15 today.

:09:17.:09:22.

That says it all! I played a solid round. Just two bad shots at the end

:09:23.:09:30.

of the round. I really should not have hit a driver on 17 in the

:09:31.:09:34.

position I was in. He has pushed a couple today. It was a really tough

:09:35.:09:40.

finish. That is right, surely? He has done badly today! After having a

:09:41.:09:47.

four shot lead and being in a Summer position last year to now it is

:09:48.:09:51.

anybody's game. That has just changed everything is

:09:52.:09:56.

going into Sunday. I have to shoot a significant under par round to win

:09:57.:10:01.

this tournament. This is Jordan Spieth this morning.

:10:02.:10:12.

Please putts were some of the greatest we have seen and this has

:10:13.:10:16.

been such a feature of his play here. We will review some of these,

:10:17.:10:22.

this was at the 2nd for a birdie down the hill. Look at the pace in

:10:23.:10:24.

the centre. Time and time again, under pressure.

:10:25.:10:32.

He cracked his face in his driver and seems to be losing some to the

:10:33.:10:38.

right. Let's have a look at the one at the 4th. This was for his par at

:10:39.:10:46.

the 4th, difficult to read it, the wind is blowing, hard to keep your

:10:47.:10:50.

balance, but perfect again. And what really impressed me was at the 6th,

:10:51.:10:55.

over The Edge of the green, leaving himself five feet. Just look at

:10:56.:11:03.

this. Just watch this. It allows 4.5, five inches of break in the

:11:04.:11:08.

centre of the cup. It is amazing, I cannot tell you how difficult that

:11:09.:11:12.

is to do, it was a beauty. He has time and time again rescued

:11:13.:11:16.

his round with the putting. He said last night, I have to strike better

:11:17.:11:21.

than I did yesterday, I cannot rely on my putt every round. And he has

:11:22.:11:25.

led a charmed life, especially of the tee.

:11:26.:11:29.

You have to rely on the putter to play well and that bills him out

:11:30.:11:36.

anti-capitalist is on the greens. It separates him from the rest of the

:11:37.:11:38.

pack. -- bails. Players have a neurotic obsession

:11:39.:11:47.

with golf. He has a safe house here where they do not talk of and I am

:11:48.:11:51.

sure the other they do not talk golf but you can't shut out what is going

:11:52.:11:55.

on in your head. I do not know what was going on in his head last night

:11:56.:11:59.

after what happened but it is difficult to overcome what happened

:12:00.:12:03.

to him and the comp have -- and two compartmentalised that and move

:12:04.:12:06.

forward today, I look forward to seeing how he deals. It is

:12:07.:12:11.

significant his swing coach from Australia Cameron MacCormack has

:12:12.:12:15.

flown in from Dallas. Clearly trying to get the swing issues sorted out.

:12:16.:12:21.

Sometimes you have to bring in your coach, he was losing some to the

:12:22.:12:25.

right and the occasional to the left. Never easy missing on both

:12:26.:12:29.

sides, he did not have a safe shot. And he cracked his driver face on

:12:30.:12:33.

Wednesday night so they can put new heads on but it is never the same as

:12:34.:12:37.

your original and he is playing with that a bit. There was a turnaround

:12:38.:12:43.

yesterday at the 7th that was a turning point for Rory and Jordan

:12:44.:12:47.

Spieth. Can was out there 24 hours later this morning.

:12:48.:12:52.

I put a white disc where the pin was yesterday on number seven and this

:12:53.:12:56.

is where Rory finished. It spun back to here.

:12:57.:13:01.

To read the greens, you look from the side and it is very clear. That

:13:02.:13:08.

is significantly downhill. But it is so quick. I could not believe how

:13:09.:13:13.

quick it was. So let's have another go, down the slope. A little bit of

:13:14.:13:19.

movement. Perhaps from the right. But watch how quick it is and how

:13:20.:13:24.

hard I have to hit this putt. Downhill, I know it is quick and you

:13:25.:13:28.

can't believe it. They will give it the tiniest nudge and it goes and

:13:29.:13:33.

goes and goes. That little bit of misjudgement, Rory misjudged the

:13:34.:13:38.

pace and put himself under pressure but it was so difficult to lay it

:13:39.:13:43.

dead. But that was the point is today when things started to go

:13:44.:13:45.

wrong for Rory. It was the hardest hole on the

:13:46.:13:52.

course and this was what you are talking about.

:13:53.:13:56.

His playing partner had a four a bogey so if Spieth misses, it is a

:13:57.:14:05.

three shot swing and eventually they both take a five, Rory misses this

:14:06.:14:09.

and Spieth nudges it in. He frittered the stroke away and he

:14:10.:14:15.

misjudged it. He pushed himself down and boosted the confidence of Jordan

:14:16.:14:17.

so that was huge. Jordan Spieth said to Bryson

:14:18.:14:27.

DeChambeau he loves putting at Augusta and you two were dead iPod

:14:28.:14:33.

has in your day, did you get that feeling at certain courses that you

:14:34.:14:36.

owned them on the greens? -- dead putters. Their horses for courses

:14:37.:14:44.

and if a course that you, I played well on Bermuda grass. I do not know

:14:45.:14:49.

why but the feel and see the line at Augusta National on greens this

:14:50.:14:52.

facet is a real gift and he has capitalised on it once and has a

:14:53.:14:56.

great opportunity to add to his legacy. Only one shot ahead but is

:14:57.:15:02.

it down to Spieth to lose today? Yes, he is defending champion with a

:15:03.:15:06.

1-shot lead but this is so difficult today and make one mistake and

:15:07.:15:10.

somebody makes an eagle, it switches round so quickly. If he can post

:15:11.:15:15.

5-under par, he has a great chance of winning. 3-under might win it

:15:16.:15:21.

easily. And some players have a chance to shoot something, 66, 65

:15:22.:15:25.

and going well back in the field. If he were to pull it off today, he

:15:26.:15:29.

would be the fourth man in history here at Augusta to win back-to-back

:15:30.:15:33.

and be joining three very famous names. But none of these players did

:15:34.:15:38.

it back-to-back, wire to wire, leading from start to finish.

:15:39.:16:07.

There is a bit of movement on the course this morning, we were waiting

:16:08.:16:13.

to see if anybody could mount a charge. Matthew Fitzpatrick is the

:16:14.:16:17.

youngest professional in the field and he has made the cut at the 2nd

:16:18.:16:22.

attempt here. This was him at the long par-5 2nd. And this is a goner.

:16:23.:16:30.

He has birdied the third, 2-under for the day, the best progress at

:16:31.:16:37.

3-over for the tournament. Let's remind you of how things look at

:16:38.:16:43.

this point. Jordan Spieth still to go out. He will be out in about five

:16:44.:16:51.

minutes or so. 1-shot advantage, only four men under par. Lee

:16:52.:16:57.

Westwood starting four back. He has had several rounds of 67 and if he

:16:58.:17:03.

posts another, he will be in the frame. That is Matthew Fitzpatrick

:17:04.:17:09.

moving up nicely. Jimmy Walker and Paul Casey also under par. Danny Lee

:17:10.:17:14.

did so well in the first couple of rounds here, also under par today.

:17:15.:17:18.

Time to remind you of the significant pairings and tee times.

:17:19.:17:26.

Rory went out at 1:55pm attempting to make up a five shot deficit, in

:17:27.:17:32.

the company of Daniel Berger. He will be out shortly. 7:15 p.m., the

:17:33.:17:37.

all England to well of Danny Willett and Lee Westwood, how productive

:17:38.:17:43.

might that be? -- all England J well. What a double act this is

:17:44.:17:48.

world number one Jason Day and world number number macro Dustin Johnson.

:17:49.:17:56.

And intriguing stories, fetching two time Masters champion Bernhard

:17:57.:18:03.

Langer and Hideki Matsuyama. Some 40 five p.m., the final pairing. For

:18:04.:18:08.

the third year in a row, the leader Jordan Spieth goes out, he did it in

:18:09.:18:16.

his debut in 2014, and Smylie Kaufman in his first ever Masters.

:18:17.:18:20.

What of Rory McIlroy? The challenge against Jordan Spieth let -- left

:18:21.:18:28.

him feeling bruised last night. How will McRoy cope with this? --

:18:29.:18:38.

McIlroy. Just so much on it. He would have the land that is ten

:18:39.:18:41.

yards over the green for that to work. What a difficult shot he has

:18:42.:18:48.

left itself now. Only three shots back and it could be two in a

:18:49.:18:56.

moment. He has got a chance. That is it now, I thought it had enough pace

:18:57.:19:07.

to hold its line. A tight left. That has gone right under the skirt. Here

:19:08.:19:13.

we are, still an enormous tree in front of it. He has seen worse at

:19:14.:19:18.

this hole. He has to do something to find a par here. He has got to be

:19:19.:19:22.

careful to chase the green, he has got to be careful.

:19:23.:19:29.

That was always a risk. Even if he had hit that perfectly, going at the

:19:30.:19:40.

flag. I do not know if I would have played that myself. As soon as he

:19:41.:19:46.

hit it, he said, no, no, no. His round is drifting away.

:19:47.:19:51.

Yes, I could not get anything going really. Another difficult today, the

:19:52.:19:55.

scores reflect that, it feels more like a US Open and a Masters.

:19:56.:20:03.

Disappointed. I felt like I righted the ship on the back nine, I gave

:20:04.:20:08.

myself opportunities that I could not take. But I guess if I can take

:20:09.:20:14.

heart from anything, Jordan has let a lot of people in with his finish.

:20:15.:20:18.

I need to get off to a fast start tomorrow. The wind is not going to

:20:19.:20:23.

be quite as strong, that is the forecast. If I can get off to a fast

:20:24.:20:27.

start, stranger things have happened! I need to play a lot

:20:28.:20:30.

better than it later today. You know how easy it is to let a

:20:31.:20:37.

lead slip here. Yes, of course. It is difficult to play with a lead on

:20:38.:20:41.

this golf course. The condition of this golf course, the way it is, the

:20:42.:20:47.

breeze. It is tough to be in front because you play on a defensive the

:20:48.:20:52.

entire time and there is not, you can't take on many flags and you

:20:53.:20:58.

leave yourself with light putts the entire day, it is a bit of a grind.

:20:59.:21:02.

But hopefully the conditions being a bit better tomorrow, we can attack

:21:03.:21:06.

more and take on more flags. Make some birdies and see what happens.

:21:07.:21:12.

He is about to get under way. His playing partner today is Daniel

:21:13.:21:19.

Berger, the PGA Rookie of the Year on the American Tour last year. Rory

:21:20.:21:23.

knows what it takes to post a low closing round here, he had a 66 here

:21:24.:21:30.

last year. Yesterday, he went the 17th eight shots behind, but feeling

:21:31.:21:34.

a lot better after that slip-up from Jordan Spieth. Still, is of hope

:21:35.:21:39.

from five back. He has to improve when yesterday significantly. --,

:21:40.:21:44.

is. Yes, he has made a couple of mentor errors, the second shot at

:21:45.:21:49.

the 11th was misjudged and he had no luck on the greens. The 1st hole is

:21:50.:21:52.

always problematic for him and he has made a lot of bogeys, it is

:21:53.:21:57.

critical to get to a good start on number one. And he got a first-hand

:21:58.:22:01.

look at children speak yesterday and he knows he is not pushing it, he

:22:02.:22:07.

got a two weight miss -- at Jordan Spieth. He is on top and it is

:22:08.:22:13.

impressive but Rory understands he is not clicking on all cylinders and

:22:14.:22:16.

it is an opportunity for him if he does slip up to make a move but he

:22:17.:22:22.

has to play a great round. Almost a bogey free round the challenge. The

:22:23.:22:26.

key areas he has to improve today would be what? Really? He has to

:22:27.:22:31.

drive the ball great today to get himself in position to play a key

:22:32.:22:36.

second shot and the key at Augusta is always on the greens. That is

:22:37.:22:41.

where I feel like, I felt like putting was the measure of your

:22:42.:22:46.

heart. It was, could I hit these putts with the same confidence each

:22:47.:22:52.

time? Rory showed yesterday he was not that comfortable on the greens,

:22:53.:22:56.

he came up short, but Jordan Spieth felt great, you could tell, he

:22:57.:23:01.

hardly had a 2-putt because he was -- them in. There was a different

:23:02.:23:07.

mindset between the way they felt. Rory and Danny Willett is and Lee

:23:08.:23:13.

Westwood trying to forge a path back to 1996 when we had a winner from

:23:14.:23:17.

our shores and it is 20 years since that final round between Nick Faldo

:23:18.:23:23.

and Greg Norman in which Sir Nick Faldo eventually won a third Green

:23:24.:23:28.

Jacket. Earlier, I reflected with Nick Faldo on those events two

:23:29.:23:29.

decades ago. That round was the best mentor state

:23:30.:23:39.

I was ever in my career. I said to myself, I want to win and stand out

:23:40.:23:44.

and look out over Augusta and all you see is trees.

:23:45.:23:54.

That is the way champions do it! I genuinely felt for him, what can I

:23:55.:24:00.

say? I do not know what to say. We embraced and I wished him well. With

:24:01.:24:05.

the media! I want to win the Masters, I did not

:24:06.:24:10.

win the Masters, Nick Faldo won the Masters. I screwed up, I know I

:24:11.:24:14.

screwed up today but it is not the end of the world for me, it really

:24:15.:24:19.

is not. I was emotion out there and there was emotion between Nick and

:24:20.:24:23.

myself on the 18th Green. I am disappointed and sad about it, I am

:24:24.:24:28.

going to regret it, it would be a day I know I let slip away. I would

:24:29.:24:33.

not like to see a player do what I did either under the circumstances.

:24:34.:24:36.

Not everything is going to be perfect in your life.

:24:37.:24:41.

Amazing to think it is 20 years ago that fateful Sunday. Six shot lead,

:24:42.:24:48.

he had, going into that final round. Did you really give yourself a

:24:49.:24:51.

chance, what chance is, I gave myself a chance because we come back

:24:52.:24:57.

to the Masters every year and we know the history of this great

:24:58.:25:01.

tournament. You have seen men coming from more than three shots back with

:25:02.:25:05.

nine to play, you have seen men crumbling with a three shot lead

:25:06.:25:09.

with three to go. So I knew it was possible and that was my goal, to

:25:10.:25:12.

get within three after nine. That was really the game plan.

:25:13.:25:19.

Unfortunately for me, Greg takes five at the 1st. And then I hit a

:25:20.:25:24.

great shot down the sixth. That was huge, a lovely 6-iron to that back

:25:25.:25:29.

right location, looking at from the top of the hill and I made two. That

:25:30.:25:35.

was a serious boost. I am playing great and hitting my irons great and

:25:36.:25:40.

I kept going, a fortunate putt on the eighth and it unfolded at nine,

:25:41.:25:44.

ten and 11. He makes a mistake and it spins off the green. At the 9th.

:25:45.:25:50.

And it was a two shot gap. Did you sense the wheels coming off and how

:25:51.:25:56.

did it manifest itself? I sensed it on the second tee, we played

:25:57.:26:00.

together on Saturday and he gripped the driver about ten times and I

:26:01.:26:05.

thought, that was different. It was a tie at 12, and we had the Match

:26:06.:26:12.

Play, he was going first. I made a know the 7-iron, 15 feet, that was

:26:13.:26:17.

what I was trying to do, but Greg changed his mind halfway down which

:26:18.:26:22.

is not ideal in your golf swing. He came up short, I walked to the 13th

:26:23.:26:27.

with a two shot lead and I said to myself, it would word! It is mine to

:26:28.:26:35.

lose now! And in the water again. Four shot lead. You imagine the

:26:36.:26:39.

emotion of that, you are watching and paying attention. And I was not

:26:40.:26:45.

as confident as 1991 1992. I came into the week and my swing was not

:26:46.:26:51.

great, tee shots in practice, everybody was talking about how fast

:26:52.:26:55.

my transition was and I had to slow it down. So for me, it was mentally

:26:56.:27:01.

one of the best rounds I played in my life because I stood on top of

:27:02.:27:05.

the hill and I said, the wheels are coming off, what are you going to

:27:06.:27:10.

do? I am going to do this and try this, whatever. You mentioned that

:27:11.:27:15.

2-iron to the 13th and like so many others, we have so many great

:27:16.:27:19.

memories of that, was that the key shot? It was amazing, I had a lovely

:27:20.:27:26.

little five wood and on every practice round, I got funny to tell

:27:27.:27:30.

me, where is the usual 15 to the middle? She would say she would say,

:27:31.:27:35.

here. So I had rehearsed all week and I had not used it all week. And

:27:36.:27:41.

sure enough, we came to the 13th and I got two 15 yards. I took out the

:27:42.:27:48.

five wood and it is difficult to describe the slope, it is a

:27:49.:27:51.

downslope and the ball is above your feet. And with the old play being

:27:52.:27:57.

fat -- flat as a pancake, I put this down and... I had enough of that and

:27:58.:28:04.

I went back to my bag and I would say, I am all right. Just start

:28:05.:28:09.

again. I said, I have just belted a 2-iron and I hit one of the sweetest

:28:10.:28:19.

2-irons in my life. When you got the 18th, it was an amazing walk up the

:28:20.:28:25.

18th. I remember watching and not knowing what to feel. A lot of

:28:26.:28:29.

people were in the same position. You gave him a hug at the end and

:28:30.:28:33.

you exchanged words and you said, good look, mate. There was a lot

:28:34.:28:38.

going on. He said afterwards he truly respected you and he saw you

:28:39.:28:43.

in a different light, was that a curious bond between you? The only

:28:44.:28:46.

way I can describe it was that I have won and lost Majors and I do

:28:47.:28:54.

not carry scars from my losses. I had a four shot lead in Murrayfield

:28:55.:28:57.

and I blew it and I got that back, so that was fine. I have lost the US

:28:58.:29:03.

Open play-off but I do not carry any scars and I know if I had a six shot

:29:04.:29:07.

lead in a Major and I had blown it, it would score me for life. That is

:29:08.:29:14.

all I felt, a genuinely thought, all right, I felt for him. I said, they

:29:15.:29:19.

do not know what to say, mate, I am just going to give you a hug. That

:29:20.:29:23.

was it. It was clear to me and people at home 20 years ago, it does

:29:24.:29:28.

not seem like it, thank you. A pleasure, thank you. And we well

:29:29.:29:35.

remember that. And we recorded that with Sir Nick Faldo early in the

:29:36.:29:39.

week, he is working for our American colleagues this week. And they will

:29:40.:29:43.

be offering a full broadcast of this final round in about five, ten

:29:44.:29:44.

minutes. That was an amazing final day 20

:29:45.:29:56.

years ago. To keep your composure and your concentration to shoot that

:29:57.:30:04.

67 was extraordinary? It was. He was ready when normal stumbled and he

:30:05.:30:07.

grabbed the lead. That is another set of circumstances. The guys

:30:08.:30:12.

trailing today have to realise that if something happens near the top

:30:13.:30:16.

and they have got something going, they have to be ready mentally to

:30:17.:30:19.

deal with the burden of being out in front. I think Nick Faldo was

:30:20.:30:23.

prepared for that as well as anybody could ever be. When Greg Norman

:30:24.:30:28.

stumbled and he got the lead, Nick Faldo went to another place. That

:30:29.:30:36.

shot he hit on 13, remarkable. The way Greg Norman handled it was sold

:30:37.:30:41.

at -- was so special. He took all of the blows from the press. He got

:30:42.:30:47.

6000, 7000 e-mails and letters just to say how well he handled it. He

:30:48.:30:52.

handled it so well. He fronted up all right. That shows us anything is

:30:53.:30:58.

possible on the final day here at Augusta. Rory McIlroy has got to

:30:59.:31:02.

think that because he has teed off. This was the opening blow.

:31:03.:31:09.

This will be a nervous tee shot. He knows he has a chance today. It is

:31:10.:31:22.

right in the bunker. The tree is in his way. A disappointing end to his

:31:23.:31:30.

round last night. Failed to get a birdie at the last and worrying

:31:31.:31:33.

times at the start of this final round. The world number three is off

:31:34.:31:39.

and running. Nobody making an impact on the opening page of that

:31:40.:31:45.

leaderboard. Jordan Spieth and Smylie Kaufman will be off at about

:31:46.:31:52.

quarter to eight your time. I wonder what will happen in the intervening

:31:53.:31:56.

period. It is time we talked contenders because of the name that

:31:57.:32:01.

-- names that are starting to move on that leaderboard. Matthew

:32:02.:32:06.

Fitpatrick for the tournament. Of those in the chasing pack, who would

:32:07.:32:12.

you expect might put a run together today? There is nobody up there that

:32:13.:32:19.

would surprise me if they made a run. Smylie Kaufman will be the one

:32:20.:32:23.

who will experience something new, something he has never experienced

:32:24.:32:29.

before on the first tee. The way he feels is going to be something he

:32:30.:32:32.

has never felt before. He will have to go to the School of hard knocks,

:32:33.:32:36.

or he will have to win all of the mental battles. He will -- he may

:32:37.:32:42.

come out on top. You have Danny Willett, the great English hope,

:32:43.:32:46.

Darren Clarke body was the best new European player... Lee Westwood as

:32:47.:32:54.

an opportunity. He has to be ready. There is a group of guys. Dustin

:32:55.:32:59.

Johnson, how excruciating would the walk beaver Dustin Johnson. Canny

:33:00.:33:05.

compartmentalise what happened to him at the US Open macro? -- can he.

:33:06.:33:13.

It is amazing what you can accomplish when you do not care who

:33:14.:33:17.

gets the credit. That is what Jordan Spieth reminds me of when he says

:33:18.:33:25.

we. There is one young man up there, Hideki Matsuyama. If he were to pull

:33:26.:33:30.

this off for Japan, it would be an absolutely monstrous story. Japan

:33:31.:33:36.

has always been very keen on the Gulf. It is most of the most popular

:33:37.:33:43.

sport there is. It would be so big. He would be a multi-,

:33:44.:33:47.

multi-millionaire. He would be the first male golfer to win a major

:33:48.:33:52.

championship. Brilliant for Asian golf. It would give it a big boost.

:33:53.:33:58.

It is always doing well. A Japanese player winning the Masters, it does

:33:59.:34:03.

not get any better. No Japanese man has won a major. They did win a

:34:04.:34:12.

senior major. There is so much riding on it for Japan. What about

:34:13.:34:17.

one for the old boys? How about Bernhard Langer? Canny win a third

:34:18.:34:23.

green jacket? -- can he win.

:34:24.:34:42.

He is 58 years old, trying to become the oldest major history -- winner

:34:43.:34:49.

in history by some ten years. The facets of his game, he gave up

:34:50.:34:53.

something like between 40 and 60 yards off the tee to Jason Day every

:34:54.:35:01.

single hole and still outscored him. He was 60 yards short of just --

:35:02.:35:05.

Dustin Johnson's driving distance lead. I do not know how you give

:35:06.:35:12.

that up but still beat a guy. He is a different duck. He is still

:35:13.:35:16.

flexible, he still works out. Monty said the other day he has won 90

:35:17.:35:23.

tying -- 99 times and he prepares as if he has never won once. This was a

:35:24.:35:30.

highlight yesterday. He lives his life, he plays the game of golf. He

:35:31.:35:37.

has a moral authority in the way he thinks and the way he lives his

:35:38.:35:40.

life. There is great peace and comfort in that. He is fully capable

:35:41.:35:44.

of winning today. I know when push comes to shove, he knows deep down

:35:45.:35:54.

inside he knows how to do it. He has said a 50 plus -year-old golfer will

:35:55.:35:59.

win a major. It could be him. As the champions tour extended the

:36:00.:36:06.

longevity of the older players? -- has. There is no doubt about it. I

:36:07.:36:10.

have got a few stories about Bernard. We have played a few times

:36:11.:36:18.

together. He was the first to get a fitness plan on the European tour.

:36:19.:36:28.

-- van. He loves to get his hand in the cookie jar. It drives him on.

:36:29.:36:34.

His determination, his discipline, his control. He has never hit a

:36:35.:36:41.

single shot without trying 100%. He knows exactly what to do. He was the

:36:42.:36:46.

first player to have a 63 wedge in Europe. He has pushed the

:36:47.:36:50.

boundaries. He has still got the long putter. You can tell when the

:36:51.:36:59.

putts, his upper hand, if you watch it, it moves. It moves. It is not

:37:00.:37:06.

stuck there. It is not always what you accomplish that matters,

:37:07.:37:11.

sometimes it is what you overcome. Bernhard Langer has overcome massive

:37:12.:37:15.

yips during his career. It is a mind melt when that happens. By the way,

:37:16.:37:21.

Ernie Els finished 16th in putting after the first couple of rounds,

:37:22.:37:26.

which I found remarkable. You would figure he would finish last! Langer

:37:27.:37:32.

has hobbies, too. He loves to snow ski. He loves to fish. He has got a

:37:33.:37:40.

great family. He still has this fortitude and desire to compete. The

:37:41.:37:44.

longevity is, I think, something that he will be noted in the end.

:37:45.:37:49.

There are a lot of people willing him on today in same way that people

:37:50.:37:53.

were willing Tom Watson on at Turnberry and he came so close to

:37:54.:37:58.

winning the Open. Plenty of golf at there. We can show you some shots

:37:59.:38:01.

that have been happening. This is for illegal for Henrik Larsson. He

:38:02.:38:08.

will not challenge this year. In it goes. There are a few out there. Ian

:38:09.:38:16.

Poulter felt some of the pins were accessible and we could see some

:38:17.:38:20.

good numbers. We will be seeing a lot more of a gentleman here.

:38:21.:38:30.

Bryson has made an amazing first go at the Masters. He went toe to toe

:38:31.:38:35.

with Jordan Spieth the first couple of days. He was went into the

:38:36.:38:41.

weekend in the final group. You really like this fellow? I do. I

:38:42.:38:48.

want to say out loud what I really think. He is on the right

:38:49.:38:53.

trajectory. What I want to say is he might already be the best player in

:38:54.:38:56.

the world. But he has got to prove that. I do not know of anybody who

:38:57.:39:01.

has ever come out more secure in what he is -- what he is trying to

:39:02.:39:09.

do. Here is Matthew Fitzpatrick. We have seen him already. I watched him

:39:10.:39:15.

hit several balls on the driving range today. He has made an

:39:16.:39:23.

absolutely stunning start on the European Tour. Ten top tens. He is

:39:24.:39:29.

for real. There is the real deal. Jordan Spieth going for back-to-back

:39:30.:39:36.

wins at Augusta. Just preparing himself. We have heard about

:39:37.:39:41.

Bernhard Langer. On the 30th anniversary of Augusta's oldest

:39:42.:39:45.

winner, Jack Nicklaus at the age of 46, will we get another veterinary

:39:46.:39:50.

writing the history books? This is how it looks. The right up-to-date

:39:51.:39:59.

leaderboard. Jordan preparing for his 45 tee off time. Langer out with

:40:00.:40:08.

Hideki Matsuyama. Jason Day and Johnson may do a -- will go out

:40:09.:40:14.

together. Will and Westwood is a very good pairing for the two

:40:15.:40:18.

arrangement. -- Danny Willett. Matthew Fitzpatrick continues to go

:40:19.:40:25.

well. The first couple of days he was last in the putting statistics.

:40:26.:40:29.

He obviously found something. Maybe he hasn't! You spoke too soon. He

:40:30.:40:38.

could not have left himself and easier putt. Beyond the flag today

:40:39.:40:46.

is very fast. He is coming to terms with the Greens. They are so fast

:40:47.:40:50.

you can get handcuffed on them. You feel and urgency. You get locked up.

:40:51.:40:56.

There is a feeling that you just want to two putt. Not from that

:40:57.:41:03.

range. It can lock you down if you are not comfortable. Some four

:41:04.:41:10.

footers, you are lagging them in. If you bash them in, you can go six

:41:11.:41:17.

feet past. That is a cracking start. It is indeed. Matthew going well.

:41:18.:41:25.

This is at the second. He decided at the start of the wiki was going to

:41:26.:41:31.

hit three wood here. He has gone for a driver. The wind will be a little

:41:32.:41:37.

bit down for him. I do not know if he can fly the bunker. He is playing

:41:38.:41:43.

a draw from the left hand of the tee. He is going to let it rip.

:41:44.:41:51.

Great golfers swing as hard as they want. Sometimes when you are singing

:41:52.:41:57.

-- swinging great, you want to swing as hard as you can. He missed by a

:41:58.:42:04.

yard of carrying that bunker. Brandt Snedeker. He has challenged here on

:42:05.:42:08.

a couple of occasions. He loves this place. He won at pebble Beach

:42:09.:42:17.

earlier this season. Once again he is challenging. Snedeker can get red

:42:18.:42:26.

hot on the greens, as we know. This was a earlier. This was the other

:42:27.:42:35.

amateur. Yes! Putting together the best round of the day, so far. This

:42:36.:42:41.

is his birdie putt at the 18th, the young man from France. Great to see

:42:42.:42:52.

him here. He is the British amateur champion. It has been good to see

:42:53.:42:58.

this young man give a very positive account of himself. There is the

:42:59.:43:06.

competition between the two of them. It looks as though Bryson to shamble

:43:07.:43:13.

is going to take that one. There is a lot that can happen. Your thoughts

:43:14.:43:21.

on the way the course has played this week? It has been a shock to

:43:22.:43:26.

the system for a lot of the players who have known benign conditions.

:43:27.:43:31.

This has changed some of their perceptions of how this can play?

:43:32.:43:37.

That is right. I got here early and the players were saying it was going

:43:38.:43:41.

to be really hard to shoot at the Greens. They mowed the Greens a

:43:42.:43:45.

couple of years ago when the grass was facing the putting servers. Now

:43:46.:43:49.

the grass is facing the fairway down towards the players. Two's B and

:43:50.:44:01.

three is a crowd. When you start factoring in the elements and the

:44:02.:44:05.

wind, that will krypton -- cripple a good player. Today the holes are

:44:06.:44:15.

causing great spots. I really look for some fantastic golf and some

:44:16.:44:20.

real excitement. 30 years ago, we have already celebrated one

:44:21.:44:23.

anniversary, but 30 years ago there was plenty of excitement. It was

:44:24.:44:28.

when the Golden Bear came out of his golfing hibernation to win a record

:44:29.:44:36.

sixth green jacket in 1986. 86 was a tournament that I did not expect to

:44:37.:44:41.

win. The players were not scared of me any more. They did not expect me

:44:42.:44:42.

to win. Yes, sir! I made the putt, I turned around and

:44:43.:45:23.

I was looking for my son. He had a smile on his face. And I wanted to

:45:24.:45:31.

hug him. Dad turns to me, eye to lie. He is not looking at anybody

:45:32.:45:37.

else. He gave me a great smile and a hub that I will always remember. You

:45:38.:45:42.

then take all of the wins you want, that was more special than any of

:45:43.:45:45.

them. It has been hard to escape this week

:45:46.:45:49.

because US television has been running documentaries on it all

:45:50.:45:52.

week. Your perspective on that and how much of a surprise the victory

:45:53.:45:57.

was? He was still a marvellous player. Seve Ballesteros gave him a

:45:58.:46:03.

little help on the 18th. But when Jack realised he had a chance, he

:46:04.:46:08.

knew how to take it. It was a very special masters. He had then and

:46:09.:46:11.

non-believable player. The greatest golfer that ever lived. -- he had

:46:12.:46:22.

been an unbelievable player. He knew exactly what he needed to do. When

:46:23.:46:27.

to take a chance, went to lay back. He knew what to do. He had done it

:46:28.:46:34.

before and he knew what to do. When the opportunity presented itself,

:46:35.:46:38.

Jack knew how to react. Great players are self-aware. He knows

:46:39.:46:43.

himself. Jordan will have that advantage today. He will no more

:46:44.:46:46.

than the guys that have not won the green jacket that are trailing stop

:46:47.:46:52.

with that thinking, that strategic thinking, do you see echoes of Jack

:46:53.:46:59.

Nicholas in Jordan Spieth? Yes, I think so. Strategically, Jordan

:47:00.:47:06.

Spieth, it is like that wave coming off the water. That is him. The

:47:07.:47:16.

other day I walked in the caddy area, his caddie was on the porch

:47:17.:47:20.

with Ben Crenshaw's caddie, they were going over the book. How they

:47:21.:47:24.

are going to play the course. Jordan is doing all the right things. He is

:47:25.:47:31.

smart. It will be fascinating to see how Smylie Kaufman coaxing his

:47:32.:47:36.

company. This is a massive day for this young man. Here he is warming

:47:37.:47:40.

up on the reins. Tea-time about half an hour away. -- tee time. These two

:47:41.:47:50.

have played against each other quite a lot in junior golf. He says there

:47:51.:47:56.

are about 1000 winds to Jordan, known to him. He is two years older

:47:57.:48:03.

than Jordan. Does he have the making of a champion? Yes, I think he does.

:48:04.:48:08.

He won in Las Vegas this year. If you can win at the highest level,

:48:09.:48:13.

you can win anywhere. There are some things will happen to him today. A

:48:14.:48:19.

good layup angle. The pin tucked behind the right bunker. He needs to

:48:20.:48:28.

make some birdies. If you are just marginally out here, it is a killer.

:48:29.:48:34.

Smile -- Smylie Kaufman is going to have to be conscious of his walking

:48:35.:48:40.

pace. You can control your heartbeat with your breathing. Snedeker has

:48:41.:48:43.

mixed a bunch of small putts this week. -- missed. He is hitting it

:48:44.:48:50.

well enough to stay on the leaderboard. Your heart can beat so

:48:51.:48:56.

hard, you can feel your pulse in your fingertips. How do you control

:48:57.:48:59.

that? That is what Smylie Kaufman will feel today. Emiliano Grillo.

:49:00.:49:08.

That is an interesting card. Level for the day. Pretty eventful. The

:49:09.:49:14.

front nine will be key to start with. You have got to turn in one

:49:15.:49:18.

under if you can. The back nine will offer something. Oosthuizen. What a

:49:19.:49:25.

player he is. He has been on super form recently. The wind is blowing

:49:26.:49:35.

in about ten to 15 mph. It is not insignificant. Shane Lowry going in

:49:36.:49:43.

with his second shot. That shot they make it look easy. It is so

:49:44.:49:49.

difficult. So many champions seem to be able to pull that shot off. Shane

:49:50.:49:56.

Lowry looks like he belongs. This fellow has never looked like he

:49:57.:50:04.

doesn't belong. Davis Love. That has just found the sand. So nice to see

:50:05.:50:10.

Larry Mize and Davis and Bernard Langer flying the flag for the older

:50:11.:50:15.

players. Three champions tour players made the cut this week. Adam

:50:16.:50:20.

Scott. Steve Williams on the bag. He is at the 12th. The

:50:21.:50:33.

par fives on the back nine offer some opportunity. You can play them

:50:34.:50:45.

in six, six, or three, three. That is right the first hole is downwind

:50:46.:50:55.

now. Patrick Reed, at one point he considered himself a top five

:50:56.:51:00.

player. He is certainly cracking the top ten. He is world number ten at

:51:01.:51:04.

the moment. He was such a force in the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles. He was

:51:05.:51:12.

brash. He thought I was brash! This guy is brash. I like Patrick Reed's

:51:13.:51:18.

style. He is fearless. What a lovely golf swing he has. The world number

:51:19.:51:24.

one, Jason Day, onto the tee. So much expectation of him. He is

:51:25.:51:30.

trying to become a back-to-back major winner as well. He won the US

:51:31.:51:37.

PGA title last year. He is out with Dustin Johnson. There will be a lot

:51:38.:51:40.

of expectation on this particular pairing. The big hitters. It will be

:51:41.:51:48.

like a home run hitting contest. But in the end it will come down to

:51:49.:51:56.

touch for both. Lee Westwood with his second shot at the first. It is

:51:57.:52:03.

really important for him to get off to a good start. He is another guy,

:52:04.:52:08.

I feel for him. Obviously he is getting towards the end of his

:52:09.:52:12.

career now. It could be an excruciating thing mentally for a

:52:13.:52:14.

morally good embrace it and have this great calm and shoot a great

:52:15.:52:20.

score. Playing with Danny Willett. A nice pairing. They have been

:52:21.:52:23.

neighbours and buddies for a long time. Danny has been very under

:52:24.:52:33.

control this week. He is capable of getting in the mix. He will not be

:52:34.:52:38.

frightened. He is confident in his ability. He has been great on the

:52:39.:52:42.

greens. That is a great sign for his future. OK, we have got Danny with

:52:43.:52:47.

that birdie putt. A quick check on the leaderboard.

:52:48.:52:56.

Our American colleagues are ready and so are we. Good afternoon to

:52:57.:53:02.

Andrew Cotter and Peter Aliss. Thank you, Hazel. Are we in for a

:53:03.:53:09.

brilliant afternoon, or waylaid and a damp squib? The next four hours

:53:10.:53:13.

will give the story. Here is Bubba Watson. We have seen so many putts

:53:14.:53:23.

like that all week. A good round for Bubba Watson today. Not too bad

:53:24.:53:28.

compared to the rest of the tournament. He came in with high

:53:29.:53:36.

hopes. A lot of people thought he might well be the champion. We

:53:37.:53:42.

talked about a blemish free round for McIlroy. Already a bogey at the

:53:43.:53:47.

first. Here he has to get up and down for par. He thought it was

:53:48.:53:57.

going to go back a little bit. It is already untidy for McIlroy. Henrik

:53:58.:54:06.

Stenson was many people's favoured three days ago. Putting nicely,

:54:07.:54:15.

playing nicely today. -- favourite. Look at that. Eagle, birdie, birdie,

:54:16.:54:23.

but a six on 11. On the putting green going through a few final

:54:24.:54:32.

tinkerings. He is not anchoring. Look at that left hand. It is not

:54:33.:54:36.

touching his chest, so technically not anchoring. Not 1 million miles

:54:37.:54:46.

away thou! It is not stuck on his chest. Westwood at the first. Nice

:54:47.:54:51.

drive, good second. Just did not have a bounce forward. Struggling

:54:52.:55:03.

now. These greens are as difficult as I have ever seen them. The

:55:04.:55:13.

seventh, the 11th hour very fast. McIlroy taps one down. He has got

:55:14.:55:21.

it. That is a five, five start. Not what he wanted. He was looking for a

:55:22.:55:27.

burst on the opening few holes. So far it has not happened. Danny

:55:28.:55:37.

Willett. Randall and hop Kirke. -- hop Kirke. Playing alongside Lee

:55:38.:55:42.

Westwood today. A missed putt on the first hole for

:55:43.:55:59.

Danny Willett. Back to the first, Jason Day. He has only had 14 on

:56:00.:56:09.

this opening hole. Just a little moment. Meditation. Do not nod off.

:56:10.:56:13.

That is right. Now then. The bunker has been

:56:14.:56:28.

extended on the right, they have lengthened the tee. This is a

:56:29.:56:37.

formidable hole. It is very important to get off to a good

:56:38.:56:43.

start. That will be OK. A choice of three wood for Jason Day. Dustin

:56:44.:56:56.

Johnson now driving. Dustin Johnson also going with a three wood, I

:56:57.:56:57.

think. So Johnson and Jason Day are off and

:56:58.:57:24.

running. Good opening tee shots. Rory McIlroy at the third. And

:57:25.:57:33.

already cries of anguish. He is all right. I do not know why there was a

:57:34.:57:39.

cry of anguish. He is not far off the green. I think there was a

:57:40.:57:47.

helpful bounce of somebody. That was Westwood for par. Just the start you

:57:48.:57:58.

do not want. TheS are so fast, you almost feel as if there is no

:57:59.:58:01.

friction between the ball and the service. -- the greens. Fitzpatrick

:58:02.:58:13.

is going along nicely. Missed a four footer on the last for a birdie.

:58:14.:58:24.

That was never on line. A safe four. That was a par five. He, Justin Rose

:58:25.:58:32.

and Lee Westwood Warren top of the greens and regulations. -- were on

:58:33.:58:40.

top. Davis Love on the 12th. 152 today. Right-hand pin position. A

:58:41.:58:52.

good tee shot. The greens looked a little bit slower today, I thought

:58:53.:58:56.

but still running fairly briskly. Adam Scott, another favourite before

:58:57.:59:01.

the event began. Here he is on the 13th.

:59:02.:59:10.

He is in the woods. It might kick down. We were talking about the

:59:11.:59:20.

speed of the greens and Ken has been examining such a topic.

:59:21.:59:25.

Out early this morning they put this roll over the greens. They are

:59:26.:59:30.

pretty quick. They look quick. Let's see how quick they are. They are

:59:31.:59:35.

always fast at the Masters. On Sunday, normally quicker than ever.

:59:36.:59:43.

Let's have a go. She is on her way. That is quick. They are so fast this

:59:44.:59:54.

morning. They are rock-hard as well. Still rolling. It just keeps going.

:59:55.:59:57.

My goodness, they are swift. I do not know if that is the realms

:59:58.:00:11.

of common sense! Technically, that is not allowed. Do not try that at

:00:12.:00:18.

home. Bryson DeChambeau, in red, white and blue. He sometimes favours

:00:19.:00:21.

that. Trying to use the contours here. Hasn't he done well? Talking

:00:22.:00:35.

about players coming from behind and people suggest it can happen at the

:00:36.:00:40.

Masters, it does not happen that often at the Masters. Only three in

:00:41.:00:43.

the last 25 years have been outside the top two. The chat goes on

:00:44.:00:53.

between Jason Day... His caddy is also his coach.

:00:54.:01:07.

Well, it is tried its best to stop. Not a bad result. Playing partner,

:01:08.:01:39.

Dustin Johnson. Settle down. Just looking to find

:01:40.:01:57.

the right level of the green, both he and Day failing to do so. There

:01:58.:02:02.

has only been one Masters champion not inside the top ten after three

:02:03.:02:08.

rounds. That was in 1959. Came from tied 13. Dustin Johnson has come

:02:09.:02:13.

close. Leading going into the final round of the US Open in 2010. It

:02:14.:02:20.

went wrong in the final round, 82. Going well in Whistling Straits, he

:02:21.:02:24.

touched the sand and have that penalty. Close last year in the

:02:25.:02:31.

Majors as well. Amateur, Bryson DeChambeau. He thought he was on the

:02:32.:02:35.

move before he hit that but he got it in. Out in 35, one birdie, all

:02:36.:02:44.

pars. And the Frenchman, the British amateur champion, that five round of

:02:45.:02:55.

68. The walk of the leader, a long way, the practice ground, from the

:02:56.:03:03.

first tee. A walk to the body, a skip to the clubhouse and a walk to

:03:04.:03:07.

all that lies before you on the other side of the club house.

:03:08.:03:13.

Youngest two times champions. And Jordan Spieth would win that title,

:03:14.:03:21.

he is still just 22. Jack Nicolas, 25, Tiger Woods, 25, Seve

:03:22.:03:26.

Ballesteros, 26 and Horton Smith 27 when he won his second. Remarkable

:03:27.:03:30.

achievement if it were to happen for Jordan Spieth. Only his third

:03:31.:03:36.

Masters appearance. Second on his debut and he won it last year,

:03:37.:03:40.

leading again. Everybody was talking about his coach being back in town,

:03:41.:03:45.

he never does that, Cameron McCormac is always a way somewhere else at

:03:46.:03:48.

the weekend but he has summoned him back to work on things this morning.

:03:49.:03:52.

You wonder whether there is too much conversation and thought. But if it

:03:53.:03:57.

makes them feel confident and happy, it is fine. McIlroy. After that

:03:58.:04:10.

great drive, is not able... He was, this is his tee shot, I did not

:04:11.:04:15.

think it would reach the green. If this goes in, it will change things.

:04:16.:04:26.

Oh! Well, that is quite remarkable! We saw his tee shot going down the

:04:27.:04:30.

right, I did not think it had come all away round. I knew he had

:04:31.:04:36.

reached. It will be a birdie, Soren Kjeldsen at the 2nd. Good position

:04:37.:04:42.

to be, putting up the slope. A bit wide for the Dane. That is a par,

:04:43.:04:58.

par start for Soren Kjeldsen. The man of the moment, Bernhard.

:04:59.:05:05.

Bernhard Langer, quite a remarkable man. A very fine skier.

:05:06.:05:10.

Bernhard Langer! Well, he can hardly get to the hilt.

:05:11.:05:46.

And he has just found the light rough, that will be all right.

:05:47.:05:55.

Playing alongside Hideki Matsuyama. McIlroy for his birdie on the third.

:05:56.:06:00.

With his driver, he is really going for things today. A very short par

:06:01.:06:07.

four, birdie, he did not have won yesterday but one on the third here.

:06:08.:06:15.

-- one. Back to the first, Hideki Matsuyama. A very good-looking

:06:16.:06:23.

player. He was getting a little bit agitated towards the end of his

:06:24.:06:27.

round yesterday. You will notice when he completes the shot, the

:06:28.:06:31.

balance is not quite right. But watch how he finishes this tee shot.

:06:32.:06:36.

A slow rhythm back and right through.

:06:37.:06:45.

That was good. Posing for photographers. And he does look

:06:46.:06:53.

good, Peter. The wind has dropped. Three word of the first tee and if

:06:54.:07:00.

there is a slip from Jordan Spieth, Hideki Matsuyama might be the man to

:07:01.:07:04.

take advantage and the excitement in Japan would be huge at the prospect

:07:05.:07:08.

of Matsuyama winning the Masters. Paul Casey at the 7th.

:07:09.:07:18.

It is another one of the holes they have lengthened over the years. That

:07:19.:07:30.

could be good. This needs a little momentum to take it down and keep it

:07:31.:07:36.

going. And it has got it. Well done. A fine result for Paul Casey.

:07:37.:07:42.

1-under for his round and that would get him back to 2-under for the

:07:43.:07:47.

tournament. Danny Willett, unable to get on the green in two at the

:07:48.:07:56.

par-5. Just beyond the flag is good because it will go round. Go on, say

:07:57.:08:01.

the crowd! It just needs a little bit more. A friendly pin position,

:08:02.:08:10.

not much green but it feeds down if he can get it on the surface, a

:08:11.:08:20.

birdie putt two, four Danny Willett. -- the Danny Willett. Dustin

:08:21.:08:26.

Johnson, for a birdie at the 1st. , back, little sheep! Jason Day was

:08:27.:08:43.

studying fat because he has a similar putt. -- that. That was

:08:44.:08:51.

three or four feet off-line. I would be surprised if this does not start

:08:52.:08:53.

down the left. Look at where he is aiming. Almost

:08:54.:09:09.

halfway between the hole and the edge of the green. Just tickles it

:09:10.:09:20.

down. Is it going to turn? Well, it really did not want to but a better

:09:21.:09:26.

effort than Dustin Johnson's. I think they were both a little bit

:09:27.:09:31.

confused by that, playing alongside Danny Willett, Lee Westwood up ahead

:09:32.:09:37.

on the second. Just a little bit closer than the shot of Danny

:09:38.:09:38.

Willett. Just! Just! Johnson for his par at the 1st hole.

:09:39.:10:02.

Yes, he has got it in! One hole is ticked off.

:10:03.:10:12.

Henrik Stenson on the final hole. In, she goes! Henrik Stenson with

:10:13.:10:20.

that front nine of 34, a couple of birdies. A bogey on the eighth,

:10:21.:10:24.

birdie on the ninth and double-bogey on the 11th, but a good finish for

:10:25.:10:28.

Henrik Stenson, very tidy round. Casey at the 7th. This, to get a

:10:29.:10:35.

birdie. And he has done it, well done! That is a 2-over.

:10:36.:10:49.

At the top, you can see the top four names to get under way, still. Paul

:10:50.:10:57.

Casey sneaking onto the first page of the leaderboard, 2-under for his

:10:58.:11:02.

round. Back to 2-over for the tournament. Lowest round of the day

:11:03.:11:07.

is from the French amateur Romain Langasque. Rory McIlroy with that

:11:08.:11:13.

birdie on the third, back at where he started on two thirds macro

:11:14.:11:18.

alongside Lee Westwood. And here is McIlroy at the 4th. He and Jordan

:11:19.:11:26.

Spieth hit their shot into the left of the grandstand yesterday and he

:11:27.:11:30.

decided to go the other way. That could be out of bounds. 40 yards

:11:31.:11:36.

off-line. He really is in the doldrums. That is rather pathetic

:11:37.:11:48.

and sad. There will have to be a lot of rethinking here, Andrew. The out

:11:49.:11:53.

of bounds is very close to that bike right edge, but he bounded out

:11:54.:11:57.

there. Really going at the flag today. What a start from McIlroy.

:11:58.:12:08.

While, 170. A bit unfortunate. In that very first cut, no control. He

:12:09.:12:12.

does not generate the same clubhead speed as the big hitters, a tricky

:12:13.:12:18.

shot. On the key, and pitched on the downside as well. The best looking

:12:19.:12:24.

for the first also far. The result. He struggles. Spieth making his way

:12:25.:12:39.

to the first. Make way, make way! A little hug from his parents always

:12:40.:12:41.

to see him on his way. Oh, it has gone back down the hill,

:12:42.:13:20.

that has left a horrid shot. Lee Westwood on the second.

:13:21.:13:30.

Just coming around a little bit from the left. Just a little bit. More

:13:31.:13:36.

than that. Dropped a shot at the 1st. No birdie

:13:37.:13:53.

at the 2nd. Just inside the top ten. A gift. Chris Wood. From Bristol.

:13:54.:14:04.

Third shot to the par-5. Eighth hole. The pin on the front. Can it?

:14:05.:14:21.

It might, it is, it is trying. No. White seems to be the favourite

:14:22.:14:25.

colour here. It almost looks like a painter and decorator golf rioting!

:14:26.:14:33.

Ready to go and Jason Day studying this tee shot. -- golf outing. The

:14:34.:14:43.

same shot that Louis Oosthuizen had when he got an albatross. He tried

:14:44.:14:46.

to feed it in between those two bunkers. It was the all around to

:14:47.:14:55.

the hole, that is the plan. -- it will go all around. Trying to go

:14:56.:14:59.

straight at it, to the right, landing in the crowd. That really is

:15:00.:15:09.

30 yards! For class players, that really is a wild shot! I don't know

:15:10.:15:17.

what on Earth he was trained to do. -- trying. We flatter them so much,

:15:18.:15:24.

we expect them to use rifles. They are not using rifles. They brought

:15:25.:15:28.

the starting time forward five and it is. Seeing as they were 40

:15:29.:15:33.

minutes over yesterday. -- five minutes. Here we go.

:15:34.:15:38.

Jordan Spieth! Anxious. Is it a bunker? No, he is

:15:39.:16:24.

all right. And a three wood. A man playing alongside him, who would bet

:16:25.:16:29.

on Smylie Kaufman being in the last group?

:16:30.:16:35.

Smylie Kaufman! Still a youngster, two years older than Jordan Spieth

:16:36.:16:39.

and getting better every round, 73, 72, 69. Winning on his debut in 1979

:16:40.:16:45.

Fuzzy Zoeller. They are getting younger and

:16:46.:16:52.

younger! A good swing, this boy. A good boy. Good left arm.

:16:53.:17:05.

Anxious. Some applause. He has got away with that, between the bunker

:17:06.:17:17.

and the trouble on the right, so not too bad. A big drive. Danny Willett,

:17:18.:17:24.

his birdie attempt on the second. No. No pace at all, no conviction on

:17:25.:17:47.

that from Danny Willett. So, par. Back to the first, Langer.

:17:48.:17:56.

He has left himself an awful lot to do. And it has not stopped yet. No,

:17:57.:18:06.

it has. That is a pity. A good-looking second. Soren Kjeldsen,

:18:07.:18:13.

nobody is really making a move yet on the first and second. This is

:18:14.:18:21.

fast. But it is true as well. Soren Kjeldsen, he moves to level par.

:18:22.:18:34.

Three behind. We have seen some putts on the second green from long

:18:35.:18:39.

range. Now Langer. This would be sweet if he could get this in. Oh,

:18:40.:18:48.

he did not hit it. So an opening five which he really did not

:18:49.:18:57.

deserve. Shot dropped. We saw Matsuyama pacing around as well. A

:18:58.:19:04.

bit of something left for his par. This was his pitch. He is a long way

:19:05.:19:10.

below the green, it does not quite look like it. Langer landing a

:19:11.:19:16.

little bit on the downside. Hoping for it to come back. What? It did

:19:17.:19:27.

not come back! Jason Day, after that wild second to the par-5. Not on the

:19:28.:19:37.

green yet. So Danny Willett pitched to the third.

:19:38.:19:45.

Is that going to feed all the way around? No, pretty much the putt

:19:46.:20:01.

that Soren Kjeldsen just got. Matsuyama.

:20:02.:20:19.

Even with a gentle wind at the 1st, it is still proving to be a very

:20:20.:20:43.

hard hole. Now McIlroy, he hit a provisional, but he found his first

:20:44.:20:47.

ball was knocked out of bounds and he pitched to hear, this four par.

:20:48.:20:54.

-- is for a par. Spieth. Eyeing up his second shot to

:20:55.:21:12.

the 1st hole. You can just see the top of the flag to the right-hand

:21:13.:21:15.

side of the bunker, just in front of that tallest pine. For the ring

:21:16.:21:28.

away. -- fluttering away. Quite a big hump right in front of the hole.

:21:29.:21:35.

Has he hit the green on the right? No he has not. He wanted it to go to

:21:36.:21:40.

the right, trying his best, but it stuck. Lee Westwood, his second to

:21:41.:21:53.

this short par four. Tucked down on the left. The green falls down

:21:54.:21:56.

towards the flag. That is very good. McIlroy. At the 4th. Another shot

:21:57.:22:25.

dropped. One birdie. Two bogeys. Smylie Kaufman, a good, clean

:22:26.:22:31.

stance, despite that wayward tee shot. It is a long way up there. He

:22:32.:22:40.

is able to get this to stop coming in with this club. Wonder. From

:22:41.:22:49.

Smylie Kaufman! Daunted? Not a bit. A little puff of the cheeks. Chris

:22:50.:22:53.

Wood, to the ninth. Spin it. No, he just went forward.

:22:54.:23:15.

That is the look of the draw. Dustin Johnson, for his four on the second.

:23:16.:23:21.

A similar putt to the one of Danny Willett and he also leaves it out to

:23:22.:23:22.

the right. He does saunter around, Dustin

:23:23.:23:38.

Johnson. He just strolls and occasionally pauses to hit a shot.

:23:39.:23:47.

In for a five but disappointing for a man of his distance. Solid start,

:23:48.:23:57.

a couple of pars. Johnson could get to the third. This was Day, just off

:23:58.:24:05.

the green. He ends up with a par-5 also.

:24:06.:24:13.

Now, this was McIlroy, the invisible man. Out of a hedge at the back of

:24:14.:24:20.

the fourth. We thought he had gone out of bounds, it was very close,

:24:21.:24:25.

just in bounds, pitched out. The crowd loved it. But he could not

:24:26.:24:33.

escape with a par. Brief moments of gravity. -- gravity. Paul Casey at

:24:34.:24:43.

the 8th. Two good shots. This is a test. Difficult shot. Very tricky.

:24:44.:25:00.

That is Jordan Spieth out in front, but a very strong working start from

:25:01.:25:06.

Smylie Kaufman with a very short birdie putt. Soren Kjeldsen with his

:25:07.:25:12.

birdie on the first. Level par. Hideki Matsuyama dropping a shot at

:25:13.:25:16.

the 1st. Paul Casey has just birdied the seventh. What now for Spieth?

:25:17.:25:19.

The chance of a tree. -- three. Heading left. Still a bit to do

:25:20.:25:29.

there. Back to Spieth at the 1st. That was a bit tentative. Three feet

:25:30.:26:01.

short. He might soon have company at the

:26:02.:26:21.

top of the leaderboard. Lee Westwood at the 3rd. The ball in behind. Can

:26:22.:26:27.

he find his three? Smylie Kaufman. This for a birdie.

:26:28.:26:37.

Cracking start if this goes in. It was always left, wasn't it? It is

:26:38.:27:06.

left. It just caught the edge. It spins out. Disappointment,

:27:07.:27:09.

disappointment. Again, this is the distance which is

:27:10.:27:31.

right on the edge of his, shall I looked at the hole or not when I am

:27:32.:27:35.

hitting the ball? From about four feet and then three feet. And then

:27:36.:27:41.

he will look at the hole. While he is making his stroke.

:27:42.:27:54.

Not happy. He does tend to back off quite a bit until he is entirely

:27:55.:28:09.

satisfied. This for a par. He did look at the hole and in it went and

:28:10.:28:16.

Jordan Spieth starts with a par-4. Almost like a birdie, Andrew. After

:28:17.:28:23.

the trials and tribulations we have seen at this opening hole. This for

:28:24.:28:29.

a part, I think it is a little bit longer than the first. -- a par.

:28:30.:28:42.

Danny Willett for his par. That is a good-looking stroke. Danny Willett

:28:43.:29:09.

three pars to start and that is making ground, he is in a tie for

:29:10.:29:12.

third. Paul Casey. At the 8th. Three British players in the top ten

:29:13.:29:38.

in the Westwood, Paul Casey and Danny Willett, and here is an

:29:39.:29:45.

Irishman, in Shane Lowry. The 16th, familiar pin position. Get it up to

:29:46.:29:49.

about their hands feed down. They like it, he does! Shane Lowry! A

:29:50.:29:56.

hole-in-one at the 16th! Raise those arms in celebration. Shane Lowry

:29:57.:30:02.

joins the list of people who have hit a hole-in-one at the Masters.

:30:03.:30:16.

What a moment, Peter. Oh! Is a great shot, good fortune, just got the

:30:17.:30:21.

right spin. In in one. That smart and your score up! A nice easy swing

:30:22.:30:28.

off the tee. Familiar looking swing. The middle of the green, this is

:30:29.:30:34.

going. It will hit the ridge and then start to go down. You wonder

:30:35.:30:38.

whether it has enough power to reach. It keeps going and then it's

:30:39.:30:44.

a dead cert. Look at that. A beauty. A real beauty. You get a nice bit of

:30:45.:30:56.

crystal for any eagle here at Augusta. Hideki Matsuyama. Is he

:30:57.:31:04.

going to try and use the contours? That's unfortunate. He wanted that

:31:05.:31:06.

to hop up and feed all the way down. The second tee, Jordan Spieth. Two

:31:07.:31:34.

pars and one birdie. A bit of a blind tee shot. You knock it down

:31:35.:31:35.

over the hill. Good bound down the hill. Good shot.

:31:36.:32:05.

Quite a long way down there with a 3-wood as well. Dustin Johnson is

:32:06.:32:11.

having a cut at the 3rd green. He likes it. It should just kick down

:32:12.:32:18.

from the right-hand side. We saw McIlroy getting there. Going to take

:32:19.:32:24.

out Lee Westwood! Too much club from Dustin. Not a great place to be,

:32:25.:32:36.

though, there. The 4th hole. Kjeldsen comes out of the bunker.

:32:37.:32:40.

What a fantastic shot. Beautiful shot. Smylie Kaufman on the second

:32:41.:32:51.

tee. Watch this T-shirt and then you will hear from Ken Brown and Paul

:32:52.:32:53.

Azinger. COMMENTATOR: Smylie Kaufman got a

:32:54.:33:01.

good taste of reality of what it's like being in the big leagues is an

:33:02.:33:05.

hole number one. Second shot of Jason Day's, at the

:33:06.:33:39.

3rd. Started with two pars. This is as high a tariff shot as you will

:33:40.:33:43.

get. Slender bit of green and it looks like he will be going down to

:33:44.:33:48.

the right side. The flag is on, five yards to the front of the green and

:33:49.:33:53.

six behind it. It's already louder out here, Ken. The holes were cut in

:33:54.:34:00.

a little more generous spots today to add to the excitement of the

:34:01.:34:04.

final round of the Masters. It's one of these shots where you have to

:34:05.:34:12.

decide, are you going to take this Tigerish pin all play it a bit

:34:13.:34:15.

deeper? It's one of the places at Augusta you want to try and avoid at

:34:16.:34:21.

all costs, but now that he's here... Good sound. Yes, that's a pretty

:34:22.:34:26.

good shot. See how far right he had to aim. That's only about eight

:34:27.:34:31.

yards wide on the narrowest part. If you come up short, it rolls 50 yards

:34:32.:34:37.

down the hill. At eight, Bernhard Langer feathering his third into the

:34:38.:34:44.

second, a delightful shot. Always been a marvellous wedge player,

:34:45.:34:48.

judges distances so well. He has that for a birdie. Chris Wood. Look

:34:49.:34:56.

at this one. Look where he is aiming. It looks like he's playing

:34:57.:35:02.

for the bunker. Down the ninth. It's just unbelievable. Very nice. Super

:35:03.:35:09.

touch. McIlroy, just in the pine straw.

:35:10.:35:21.

Watch his feet here, make sure he doesn't slip. Difficult second shot.

:35:22.:35:27.

Well, maybe a little bit of a slip on the right foot. Yeah, and he's...

:35:28.:35:34.

Extremely deep bunker there. The 4th hole is playing 228 yards

:35:35.:35:57.

today to an awfully tricky pin. Beauty, the wind helping. The MH370

:35:58.:36:02.

must be 102 yards. Good shot for Danny

:36:03.:36:05.

Lee Westwood will try to follow will it -- follow Danny Willett's ball to

:36:06.:36:32.

the right. Will it carry? Always got a big smile on his face but he has

:36:33.:36:41.

got something to smile about here. Tremendous ovation as he wanders up

:36:42.:36:47.

the 16th to plug his ball out of the cup.

:36:48.:36:49.

CHUCKLES He's going to put that one in the

:36:50.:37:04.

trophy cabinet. Chris Wood here to clear up on nine. Good two putt.

:37:05.:37:14.

Wonderful touch. Unfortunate, that, at the 3rd, taking seven.

:37:15.:37:21.

Matsuyama for eagle here at two. Two over on his round. Bogeyed the 1st

:37:22.:37:28.

hole. No. After a massive tee shot, Dustin

:37:29.:37:52.

Johnson has played an absolute gem. Keeps trickling on, marvellous,

:37:53.:37:53.

marvellous shot. So delicate. Not an overly difficult shot here

:37:54.:38:05.

for the players at this level. He made that look pretty easy, but look

:38:06.:38:10.

at it go. Just that extra foot or two.

:38:11.:38:16.

Jason Day, from a long way away here. Blazing fast down the hill.

:38:17.:38:32.

Has he done it? APPLAUSE

:38:33.:38:37.

That is a dam good putt. Matsuyama, for his nice and neat

:38:38.:38:57.

tidy birdie at the 2nd. Move back to where he started. Beautiful look at

:38:58.:39:07.

the 2nd hole, the second shot of Jordan Spieth. Going with a long

:39:08.:39:17.

iron. It's going to just roll on. It will feed to the right. Will it

:39:18.:39:25.

reach? Yes! That's going to be right about where Matsuyama parted from a

:39:26.:39:31.

short time ago. There are a good shot. From here it doesn't that like

:39:32.:39:35.

he can get to that. A huge swing from left to right. Well, I don't

:39:36.:39:43.

think he can hole this by the flag but there is a little tee he could

:39:44.:39:51.

run this up and it might come back. Go on, it should do. Go on, run out

:39:52.:39:59.

a little. But outstanding. Very nearly back into the cup.

:40:00.:40:04.

Rory, now. Getting to the point of being critical for him to hole

:40:05.:40:11.

those. You think that's not fast. Whoa! Still going. Well, I get the

:40:12.:40:19.

feeling Rory is going to have to run the tables from here on out.

:40:20.:40:23.

Billy Horschel's third shot at eight. I had a feeling he was going

:40:24.:40:48.

to do something special! There have been some cheers today at Augusta,

:40:49.:40:56.

after three days of almost silenced because of the wind. A lot of action

:40:57.:41:00.

today. That is a really classy bit of play.

:41:01.:41:15.

He could have been goaded into going for the pin. He played to the right

:41:16.:41:22.

and played two sensible putts. It's a bit like playing snooker,

:41:23.:41:25.

sometimes you have to play a defensive shot. Danny Willett hit a

:41:26.:41:30.

marvellous shot to get on this green in regulation. The 4th hole playing

:41:31.:41:35.

228 yards today. Look at all the break he's got to play with, to try

:41:36.:41:39.

to feed this down. That's not a gimme.

:41:40.:41:47.

Rory. He's done it. He made life difficult for himself. Three bogeys

:41:48.:41:55.

on the card and just the one birdie, at the 3rd. Smylie Kaufman drove it

:41:56.:42:06.

into the fairway bunker here at two. There are a lot of place to -- ways

:42:07.:42:12.

to play this. You can go right at it. It's going right. Great shot.

:42:13.:42:17.

That will be right up the hill, almost straight. Good opportunity

:42:18.:42:27.

for Smiley here as in the two. This is what faces the players, the cut

:42:28.:42:33.

over the right-hand bunker. You can just about see it. A four iron. That

:42:34.:42:38.

is a Mile High. We will see if Dustin Johnson can

:42:39.:42:58.

follow up that missed putt with a good shot. Sure he had a lot of

:42:59.:43:04.

conversation with himself between the green and this tee box. Going to

:43:05.:43:08.

be sensible here. He's liking it. Is it going to make

:43:09.:43:22.

the carry? Is a little unlucky, Paul. What a shot.

:43:23.:43:36.

Take a lot of risks there with not much reward. Now look where he is

:43:37.:43:45.

aiming, Paul Casey. Good grief, a 90 degrees angle away from the whole,

:43:46.:43:51.

it looks like. 15 footer parts that travel 40 feet. Surely not! Well, I

:43:52.:44:06.

don't know how you can judge it a whole lot better than that! That is

:44:07.:44:09.

one of those that you only get here. The short sixth. Cracking looking

:44:10.:44:29.

hole. Oh! Rory has missed the shelf. The pin is on this sort of upturned

:44:30.:44:34.

ruck on the back corner of the green, playing 188 yards today.

:44:35.:44:52.

Now, if you look at it from here, you wouldn't think he had any chance

:44:53.:45:00.

to get this close. You see where he is looking, way up to the left on

:45:01.:45:09.

the right-hand side of the screen. Everybody in the field knows that

:45:10.:45:13.

the hole will be cut there at one point during the week and they

:45:14.:45:15.

practised this putt, actually. APPLAUSE

:45:16.:45:42.

That is well done. Yesterday Rory had a hard time lagging is any putts

:45:43.:45:52.

close enough to gimme range. He was grinding everything yesterday. The

:45:53.:46:00.

wind swirling. Matsuyama has one of his wedges in hand and he is giving

:46:01.:46:02.

it the big, high Spinney one. Six on from the front and then five

:46:03.:46:18.

behind. You have got this little hollow, very treacherous, thin bit

:46:19.:46:18.

of parting surface. Oh yes, well done! Smylie Kaufman

:46:19.:46:46.

makes birdie here at the 2nd and is currently tied for the lead with

:46:47.:46:52.

Jordan Spieth, if only for a moment. You can't see the slope that Rory is

:46:53.:46:56.

going to come up very easily here, but this hole is cut probably eight

:46:57.:47:01.

feet higher than where he is putting from. So hard to judge. He has done

:47:02.:47:07.

very well, hasn't he? Nicely judged. Day one, he holed virtually

:47:08.:47:31.

everything you looked at. Day two, he missed a few chances. Day three

:47:32.:47:38.

yesterday, he scrambled his way around. Now he is looking at one

:47:39.:47:43.

from this sort of range. APPLAUSE

:47:44.:47:46.

. Some player, this kid. Only 22 years

:47:47.:47:56.

old. Two major Championships already. I guess all his mistakes

:47:57.:48:06.

seem like learning experiences or something, for Jordan Spieth.

:48:07.:48:16.

Amazing, amazing young man. Birdies coming up short. Once you get on

:48:17.:48:21.

this hole, if you can come back short quickly... Got a hogs back in

:48:22.:48:24.

the centre of it as well. He has got to do the tightrope here

:48:25.:48:36.

and he has fallen off the right side of it. A sweeping putt. Very nicely

:48:37.:48:46.

judged. If you are a little bit out of launch, that could have finished

:48:47.:48:49.

six to eight feet away no trouble at all. Kjeldsen, up the hill at the

:48:50.:48:53.

5th. Goes through his routine. Right

:48:54.:49:29.

edge, just inside right. Excellent. Excellent. Two putt. All pars to

:49:30.:49:43.

start with the Jason Day. Here's a fast one, Matsuyama. This is

:49:44.:49:45.

probably 25 on the Stimpmeter. Bright future here. I love this golf

:49:46.:50:06.

swing of Matsuyama. Always in control.

:50:07.:50:14.

I think this is a good decision for Jordan, hitting an iron here. He has

:50:15.:50:22.

gone with a driver on each of the first three days but with the pin on

:50:23.:50:26.

the left-hand side of the screen, it's virtually impossible to get it

:50:27.:50:30.

close. He has targeted a bit. Oh! It's perfect!

:50:31.:50:34.

-- he has tugged it. A bit easier putt than Jason Day's, Dustin

:50:35.:50:50.

Johnson. Heating up the top of the tee. -- he can go up the top of the

:50:51.:50:56.

tee. I like this decision for Smylie.

:50:57.:51:13.

Even though it's not match he's just going to match Jordan Spieth on the

:51:14.:51:19.

fairway. Into the straw. That just adds to the difficulty. Danny

:51:20.:51:25.

Willett is far enough away from this big, steep bank to just about...

:51:26.:51:28.

It's one of those ones where you have to take a risk. Second to the

:51:29.:51:35.

fifth, do you carry it to the front? Very good shot. This two level

:51:36.:51:41.

green, there is like a sort of tongue that sticks out into the

:51:42.:51:48.

tier. I watched Fitzpatrick warm up this morning and he hit a lot of

:51:49.:51:52.

shots cross handed. I'm not sure I know what that's all about, Ken. I

:51:53.:51:57.

think it's one of Pete Coward's drills. I have seen Danny Willett do

:51:58.:52:05.

that a bit as well. It's the early stages of the final round of the

:52:06.:52:10.

80th masters. This is how it all looks. Jordan Spieth leads by one

:52:11.:52:16.

from Smylie Kaufman. Great start from Soren Kjeldsen. Let's take

:52:17.:52:21.

another look at the 3rd shot of Billy Horschel. And inviting pin

:52:22.:52:33.

placement here. What a shock! It's just so thrilling to see that

:52:34.:52:40.

happen, especially here. Cherished moments, as you plod along through

:52:41.:52:45.

your career there are plenty of moments to cherish, Ken, I suppose,

:52:46.:52:49.

as we look back and reflect. This golf course is steeped in history.

:52:50.:52:54.

It was designed by Bobby Jones, who won the Grand Slam in 1930 and

:52:55.:53:00.

McKenzie, who was born in Leeds. They got together because they liked

:53:01.:53:03.

the same types of courses. The course was built in 1932. Wonderful

:53:04.:53:09.

picture of Bobby Jones, here he is, the great man. Playing up the eighth

:53:10.:53:13.

fairway as it was created in 1932. It was finished in May and it was

:53:14.:53:17.

seeded and they were playing on it in August. This is how it looks

:53:18.:53:22.

today. Not very different really, apart from the trees have got a bit

:53:23.:53:25.

longer. In the early days the bunker was in the middle of the fairway and

:53:26.:53:29.

now it is down the right side. There is how it looks. He was testing to

:53:30.:53:34.

see how far his 3-wood would go up the fairway and where the landing

:53:35.:53:38.

area was. It was an American and an Englishman who designed the course,

:53:39.:53:42.

Jones and McKenzie. This is what it looks like today, not dissimilar.

:53:43.:53:49.

COMMENTATOR: Bernhard Langer for birdie here at the 3rd. That is too

:53:50.:54:00.

bad! Still just goes that extra few inches here to make the next one, a

:54:01.:54:12.

knee knocker as well. Just tiptoed over the back of the third green,

:54:13.:54:18.

Lee Westwood, going with a putter. Through the valley and uphill a

:54:19.:54:19.

little bit. This is a nightmare start for

:54:20.:54:41.

Bernhard, bogey, par, double bogey. That is about as cross as he ever

:54:42.:54:42.

gets. Up the terrace here for Danny

:54:43.:54:58.

Willett. Looking a bit brown in patches, the green. Part of it has

:54:59.:55:04.

dried out a bit. Lovely service. Up the hill and then down the other

:55:05.:55:11.

side. -- lovely surface. He is very still on his putts. Trying its best

:55:12.:55:21.

to run out. Gorgeous touch, so easy to chase that three and a half feet

:55:22.:55:26.

by. Very nice, Danny. Five holes, five pars. American Ryder Cup

:55:27.:55:37.

captain, Davis love. I wonder why we're watching this, I wonder if

:55:38.:55:44.

this is something special. 7-iron. 16 fold today playing 181 yards. Pin

:55:45.:55:50.

placement over here on the left. Watch this! Come on! He's got it!

:55:51.:56:07.

Davis! Ho ho ho! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:56:08.:56:22.

An amazing atmosphere down there. It echoes among the trees when the

:56:23.:56:30.

crowds cheer down there. Jordan Spieth, he's gone right at it! Will

:56:31.:56:36.

it stay? Oh my goodness, that is just two or three inches from going

:56:37.:56:38.

30 or 40 yards down the hill! Man! Matsuyama, who can hit massive,

:56:39.:56:56.

high, towering irons. He is at the 4th, 228 yards. A 5-iron, he will

:56:57.:57:04.

give it a wallop. He may hit it as high as anyone in the game today,

:57:05.:57:13.

Matsuyama. As Ken noted earlier, there is a backstop there and now

:57:14.:57:18.

Smylie Kaufman from the pine straw. He almost had to go right at this,

:57:19.:57:29.

Ken. It is an extremely dangerous shot. Rory McIlroy's second at

:57:30.:57:34.

seven. If he gets it right, this will gather to the hole side. Bound

:57:35.:57:40.

to come back. It's just drifted the wrong way. Every little helps. Two

:57:41.:57:48.

delightful approaches there. This is eight dangerous shot here. Always

:57:49.:57:55.

watch their feet in the straw, see if they can keep their footing. Will

:57:56.:58:01.

it be the right distance? No, down there where Dustin Johnson was

:58:02.:58:04.

earlier. Actually come a worse. Going to have to land it two or

:58:05.:58:09.

three or four hops into the fringe grass before it gets on the green.

:58:10.:58:22.

Horrible place to end up. Soren Kjeldsen, a little chip up the bank

:58:23.:58:25.

on the six'. He usually tells me a little story

:58:26.:58:38.

about dumbing Peter has said and giggles away to himself, Soren

:58:39.:58:41.

Kjeldsen acrobatic space! Let's have another look at Davis's shot here at

:58:42.:58:46.

16. This really could be a sign of

:58:47.:58:57.

things to come for this afternoon, for these players! They know the

:58:58.:59:05.

ball feeds down that hill. The lady in the pink in the background, I

:59:06.:59:09.

think she enjoyed it more than he did! What a moment. He's had plenty

:59:10.:59:20.

of great moments. To add to the list, the

:59:21.:59:29.

-- the one at 16, on Sunday at the Masters.

:59:30.:59:38.

The cheers ringing round the golf course.

:59:39.:59:51.

Just automatic. Very nice, Soren. Perfect start. Diminutive man, but

:59:52.:00:06.

makes absolutely the most of his game. Let's see what Paul Casey can

:00:07.:00:08.

do here on ten. Well, carry on. Not bad. Not his

:00:09.:00:27.

best, but not bad. He has a chance to save par from there. Rory for his

:00:28.:00:33.

birdie at the 7th and he desperately needs one, and he's done it. Bah

:00:34.:00:37.

five to come. Certainly within range for him with a couple of big biffs.

:00:38.:00:46.

He needs a magical spell. The highly touted Danny Willett, at the 6th.

:00:47.:00:53.

Straight down the hill. 188 yards and the hole is positioned on the

:00:54.:00:59.

right flat. Time tiny little landing area. Though that stay there? It

:01:00.:01:04.

has. Great opportunity for Danny Willett. The 10th, Paul Casey. Up

:01:05.:01:13.

the slope, a little from the right. Out in 34, two under. He needs it.

:01:14.:01:22.

That is such a nice little boost going into Amen Corner. Now, Smylie

:01:23.:01:29.

Kaufman. This is a dangerous shot as well, here. That's very likely to be

:01:30.:01:36.

the result, to come up short. Five feet by the hole, it can trickle all

:01:37.:01:41.

the way down the green and 30 yards down the other side.

:01:42.:01:47.

Jason Day has found some problems off the tee. Probably found the

:01:48.:01:56.

bunker off the tee. Horrible bounce. Moved it to feet too far. Just

:01:57.:02:05.

carried the top of it and off it scoots. Matsuyama's position here on

:02:06.:02:11.

four. He surely has to use the mound behind the hole here to have any

:02:12.:02:15.

chance of getting this close. He just loves this lie. OK. That should

:02:16.:02:26.

come all the way back. That might have enough pace to reach, but what?

:02:27.:02:30.

Oh no! This is Lee Westwood, tee-shot on

:02:31.:02:44.

the way at six. Currently six shots behind Jordan

:02:45.:03:03.

Spieth. He will need that birdie. Now, Dustin Johnson, up the slope.

:03:04.:03:08.

He has come up to this little buttress of a green that sticks out

:03:09.:03:14.

towards the front. Up it comes. Or does it? Not enough. Stay there,

:03:15.:03:29.

Dustin. He will be gutted about that, as a player. There is that

:03:30.:03:40.

little over buttressed that sticks up that is a little timid,

:03:41.:04:00.

Paul. We didn't see much of that yesterday. He was wondering that the

:04:01.:04:12.

first time. You can't take a shot off here at Augusta National or pay

:04:13.:04:17.

a heavy price. That sounded heavy. Again! Yes, exactly.

:04:18.:04:29.

You wouldn't think... You wouldn't think a player at this level could

:04:30.:04:38.

miscue that much with a wedge, but it will scare you to death, I tell

:04:39.:04:40.

you. My goodness. Smylie Kaufman. Look how fast this

:04:41.:04:52.

is. Some of that is inexperienced, plain and simple. You just can't

:04:53.:04:58.

know it's that fast until you've been here a couple of times. Shane

:04:59.:05:15.

Lowry looking to finish things off after that special moment he had at

:05:16.:05:21.

the 16th. Shane Lowry, 75. Damage done yesterday.

:05:22.:05:32.

We're finished, let's go home. This is a huge putt for Smylie. Beautiful

:05:33.:05:50.

speed, beautiful effort. Back to 2-under par. Jordan Spieth faced

:05:51.:05:57.

with a little knee knocker here at the 3rd. First, Danny Willett.

:05:58.:06:05.

Lovely tee-shot, just hung on to the edge of that table top and takes

:06:06.:06:11.

advantage. Two, for Danny Willett. Moves to 1-under par, three behind

:06:12.:06:15.

Jordan Spieth. Five pars, one birdie. Great stuff. All pars so far

:06:16.:06:26.

here for Jason Day. Quite the achievement if he could make par

:06:27.:06:30.

now. Looks like the first bogey of the round. Quite a view players are

:06:31.:06:36.

just struggling a bit, treading water, trying to keep pace with this

:06:37.:06:39.

man. Let's see how he manages this one. Superb. Absolutely in the

:06:40.:06:49.

middle of the hole. He did not look at the hole there, either. Can you

:06:50.:06:56.

imagine arguably the best player in the world, ranked number two in the

:06:57.:06:59.

world, can't even look at his ball on those three footers. Still with

:07:00.:07:07.

an opportunity here, Matt Fitzpatrick.

:07:08.:07:14.

Started so brightly with birdies on the second and third, but just

:07:15.:07:22.

falling back a bit. Lee Westwood with a real opportunity here for

:07:23.:07:26.

birdie. He will put this right on top for Danny Willett. Yes! He knew

:07:27.:07:36.

it! Now only 1-over and five shots off Jordan Spieth's lead. Both these

:07:37.:07:41.

players are positioned nicely. Three or four holes ahead of the leaders

:07:42.:07:47.

with the ability to post a score. Jamie Donaldson playing with Matt

:07:48.:07:51.

Fitzpatrick. Birdie, but the Welshman. Well, the Macclesfield

:07:52.:08:00.

Welshman. In it goes. A few more putts going in now and more noise

:08:01.:08:05.

around the course which is good to see, a sign of what might happen

:08:06.:08:10.

later in the round. The greens of course always so difficult we sent

:08:11.:08:11.

Ken out to have a look. Aren't these bunkers are fantastic

:08:12.:08:22.

at this golf course. Huge expanse of sand. This is the one on the right

:08:23.:08:28.

and it covers the area from 275-320. It is the way the sand, the white

:08:29.:08:34.

sand and Deluxe Erie and green grass, they're so impressive, like a

:08:35.:08:40.

big jigsaw piece. I've got my bones out as someone describe them last

:08:41.:08:45.

year. When they built this cause there were only 22 bunkers. Let's

:08:46.:08:49.

have a look, this is number eight. These are the holes all laid out in

:08:50.:08:52.

order and there is that fairway bunker. There is no fairway bunker

:08:53.:09:00.

on nine. 12 is a short hole, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17. The next fairway bunkers

:09:01.:09:05.

are on the 18th. Off the tee, Augusta particularly on the back

:09:06.:09:09.

nine has got virtually no fairway bunkers. From number eight to number

:09:10.:09:10.

18, there's none of them. A look at the 8th hole that Jordan

:09:11.:09:23.

Spieth will be coming to. A monster par-3 at the 4th. 228 yards and the

:09:24.:09:28.

pin just over that right-hand bunker.

:09:29.:09:37.

Oh my goodness. He missed a few shots dangerously to the right

:09:38.:09:45.

yesterday. Here yesterday he missed it to the left. His coach flew in

:09:46.:09:51.

this morning to have a look at Jordan Spieth this afternoon, it is

:09:52.:09:56.

first real miscue of the day. Dustin Johnson trying to salvage something

:09:57.:10:01.

at the 5th, to drop just one. That's not finished.

:10:02.:10:15.

An opportunity for Smiley Kaufmann now. -- Smylie Kaufman. He has

:10:16.:10:32.

hoisted that way up in the air. That's going to be difficult, that's

:10:33.:10:34.

all you can say about it. McIlroy on the par-5 8th. Managed to

:10:35.:10:56.

stay at the bunker off the tee this time. Lovely shot. We'll come around

:10:57.:11:03.

a little bit closer as well. McIlroy with an eagle chants. Paul Casey

:11:04.:11:16.

after a fantastic birdie on ten. This is a dangerous pin placement on

:11:17.:11:25.

the left side of the green. Super shot. Shane Lowry has given us

:11:26.:11:34.

plenty of smiles over the last few days, the opening round of 68 and

:11:35.:11:39.

hole-in-one at 16. I'm sure he's got a big grin on that face.

:11:40.:11:42.

Wonderful moment for you 116, talk us through it. It was one of those

:11:43.:11:51.

where there are about 180 yards downwind, nothing gone right for me

:11:52.:11:56.

all day. It was perfect. I haven't seen it back yet. It was one of

:11:57.:12:00.

those things I'll remember for the rest of my life. I had a look at it

:12:01.:12:07.

coming down the sixth. It's perfect for a hole-in-one. It seriously is.

:12:08.:12:13.

Good reaction as well. I look very happy there. The 16th player to have

:12:14.:12:20.

a hole-in-one on 16. That's good, I'll have that picture. I'll get it

:12:21.:12:24.

framed and have it in my house. There's the girl who try to give me

:12:25.:12:28.

a high five and I missed her. It was good fun. Fit of an up-and-down week

:12:29.:12:36.

for me, I put myself right in there with two rounds to go and nothing

:12:37.:12:40.

went right for me at the weekend, a few bad decisions and breaks here

:12:41.:12:43.

and there. But you know, couple of weeks off now. A good moment, enjoy

:12:44.:12:49.

it at least, well done. With his short game he'll be back

:12:50.:12:59.

and doing well at Augusta again. Paul Casey for his three on the

:13:00.:13:00.

11th. Look at it go. Soren Kjeldsen at seven. Trying to

:13:01.:13:23.

play it off the backstop. It stop for a moment. Go on! Every little

:13:24.:13:33.

bit helps. Good shot. He's happy with it. He should be.

:13:34.:13:42.

For the hole, Jordan Spieth, horrible hole today, not one single

:13:43.:13:50.

birdie on this par-3. A parachute shot, lovely shot, it's going to run

:13:51.:13:55.

on. But it was beautifully played. He's given himself a chance with his

:13:56.:13:59.

putting. You wouldn't bet against him. Just about as well as he could

:14:00.:14:01.

do. Casey now, back up the hill. Yeah,

:14:02.:14:16.

confidently holed by Paul Casey. That's the good four there at 11. A

:14:17.:14:25.

good round he's got going, two birdies, no dropped shots, Lee

:14:26.:14:26.

Westwood. Of the back of that birdie on the

:14:27.:14:41.

sixth. Will this go back? Don't pause there. There's life in it yet.

:14:42.:14:56.

Keep going. Gathering pace. There we are, got there in the end. Thank you

:14:57.:15:03.

for your efforts. Good birdie chance to come for Westwood. Danny Willett,

:15:04.:15:14.

shorter shot than Westwood. Lofted club. He'll go right at this flag.

:15:15.:15:28.

Oh no, that's not what you want. Stopped in the sprinkler head. That

:15:29.:15:32.

was cruel. Yes, Davis. His last two holes are

:15:33.:15:37.

not unpleasant. He looks pleased. The greens seem to

:15:38.:15:56.

be getting faster and faster as the day goes on. This is one of those

:15:57.:16:07.

putts that you really have to get the speed right. He'll lay this out

:16:08.:16:17.

way to the left of the hole and try to have the ball literally stop and

:16:18.:16:19.

then feed sideways down the hill towards the hole.

:16:20.:16:33.

A good 50 feet away. He's not going to get there. That ball funnelled

:16:34.:16:43.

towards Jordan Spieth little bit. McIlroy. Chants for eagle. -- a

:16:44.:17:05.

chance for eagle. That was just about the last chance for McIlroy.

:17:06.:17:11.

You need something to really get him going and attack the back nine. Time

:17:12.:17:16.

running out. Could have been a free shot swing if that had gone in and

:17:17.:17:24.

Jordan missed this. Four shots back now, Spieth for par. Wouldn't this

:17:25.:17:32.

be something? What a putt. He continues to amaze. What a player.

:17:33.:17:43.

So good on the greens. Maybe the most difficult greens in the world

:17:44.:17:49.

to putt well on. But scrambling stats, 17 out of 24 times he's got

:17:50.:17:54.

up and down of the green in various situations. That's remarkable.

:17:55.:17:59.

Around here it's astonishing. He is relentless. McIlroy to tap in for

:18:00.:18:10.

his birdie. It is four. Birdie. He moves two over. Four holes apart, it

:18:11.:18:15.

could been a much bigger swing to McIlroy, but I think he's probably

:18:16.:18:18.

just going to come up a little bit short. Smylie Kaufman. In that

:18:19.:18:28.

moment, on a couple of holes, you saw Spieth holing his par putt,

:18:29.:18:35.

Smylie Kaufman missing his McIlroy failing to make eagle. That is

:18:36.:18:39.

white. He leads by three from Kjeldsen, Willett and Kaufman.

:18:40.:18:49.

Dustin Johnson down the hill after a superb shot here at six. Look at how

:18:50.:18:54.

fast these greens are getting. Walked that in. After four putting

:18:55.:18:59.

the double bogey at five, Dustin Johnson comes back with a beautiful

:19:00.:19:04.

birdie here. Difficult sixth. Paul Casey down the hill at X. -- six.

:19:05.:19:16.

Sorry, 12. 152 yards today. This is the pin position everybody knows...

:19:17.:19:26.

That's OK. Struck it really well, really well. Better than short.

:19:27.:19:35.

Something other than the driver here for Jordan. He's tugged it. That

:19:36.:19:43.

bunker is no good. It might be short of it. McIlroy, driver, on the

:19:44.:19:53.

ninth. Into the trees on the left yesterday, but heading the other way

:19:54.:19:59.

today. It's fine, didn't get much of a bounce down there.

:20:00.:20:07.

He's playing with McIlroy, Daniel Berger. Last year's US Rookie of the

:20:08.:20:16.

Year. What a good kick that was. He's got fairway. 3-wood for

:20:17.:20:26.

Kaufman. The camber of the fairway feeds down to the huge bunkers.

:20:27.:20:34.

Being able to stay short, choosing the right club. A two weightless,

:20:35.:20:43.

Wainwright on four, left on five. He'll have to figure that out. We go

:20:44.:20:48.

to Danny Willett at seven, almost no chance here. We already know how

:20:49.:20:50.

fast this is. Doesn't look too shabby. Look at it

:20:51.:21:03.

go on, though, wonderful effort from Danny Willett. So close to three,

:21:04.:21:09.

now scrapping for his par. Need a little drop from the sprinkler head.

:21:10.:21:17.

Jordan Spieth still in control, even more so, three shots clear of three

:21:18.:21:25.

players. Kjeldsen, Kaufman and Willett. Once again, his putter

:21:26.:21:30.

doing the business on the 4th hole, as it has all week. Treacherous

:21:31.:21:38.

birdie putt down the hill for Westwood. These are huge for Lee,

:21:39.:21:45.

you have to hole fees if you want to win this golf tournament. Dead

:21:46.:21:53.

centre, perfect speed. And all of a sudden Westwood is just four back.

:21:54.:22:00.

Bogey for par, par, par, birdie, birdie back row.

:22:01.:22:06.

A shorter version of the Tiger Woods chips. Davis Love chipped in from

:22:07.:22:16.

back there as well. In it goes. But a few spectacular shots on the 16th

:22:17.:22:23.

today. It's always back there, the Sunday pin position, but it seems to

:22:24.:22:28.

be quite hungry today, the hole on the 16th. A good run for

:22:29.:22:34.

Aphibarnrat, back to over. -- two over. Right back up the hill from

:22:35.:22:45.

Danny Willett. And he's got it. Quite a two putt there. And a nice

:22:46.:22:50.

clean card so far. Absolutely, neat and tidy from Danny

:22:51.:23:00.

Willett. It's taken him into a tie for second place, three shots off

:23:01.:23:05.

the lead held by defending champion Jordan Spieth. Soren Kjeldsen making

:23:06.:23:08.

a fantastic run at this, six years since his last appearance at the

:23:09.:23:11.

Masters. Trying to become the highest placed Dane ever. That was

:23:12.:23:16.

Thorbjorn Olesen three years back, who was tied sixth. Excellent effort

:23:17.:23:20.

from the 40-year-old. Smylie Kaufman just a little ragged the last couple

:23:21.:23:27.

of holes, but in a steamed company. As you seen the last couple of

:23:28.:23:30.

holes, using all of his local knowledge forged over 16 years to

:23:31.:23:35.

good effect, especially the last couple of holes. Matsuyama 1-over

:23:36.:23:43.

today. Watson has had his troubles. Jason Day hasn't yet got going.

:23:44.:23:52.

Justin Rose, 1-under today, two over for the tournament. Bernhard Langer,

:23:53.:23:59.

3-over today. Still hasn't come through, but there is still time for

:24:00.:24:01.

the 58-year-old. Adam Scott, looking to see him

:24:02.:24:13.

finish out on the 18th. That was not good.

:24:14.:24:26.

In it goes Adam Scott, 76, 72, 75, his first three rounds. He started

:24:27.:24:34.

well today. Couple of bogeys on the last three holes. That in 39,

:24:35.:24:40.

11-over total. Big putt for Matsuyama to remain even par. Let's

:24:41.:24:52.

have another look at Danny Willett's putt, this

:24:53.:24:59.

is him on the slope on the seventh. We've seen a lot of players bunched

:25:00.:25:03.

up closely. Take Jordan Spieth out of the equation. He's still in

:25:04.:25:11.

control of the tournament now. Quizzical looking Kaufman. Stunning

:25:12.:25:17.

shot from Smylie Kaufman write down the flag. Little bit unfortunate

:25:18.:25:23.

again, just toppled on a bit further. Good signs for Smylie

:25:24.:25:34.

Jordan Spieth ended up short of those massive bunkers. Now he's got

:25:35.:25:40.

to play a big sweeping draw. He hasn't hooked it enough. It doesn't

:25:41.:25:49.

appear. All kinds of options as to how you want to play that shot. It's

:25:50.:25:56.

one of the most difficult around the hole, the fifth, we saw what

:25:57.:26:00.

happened to Dustin Johnson. It's a devilish imposition. The hole almost

:26:01.:26:07.

has a little nose, like a peninsula. Where it all on one level, then

:26:08.:26:11.

drops off all around it. Here's the aforementioned Johnson. He'll keep

:26:12.:26:18.

it low there, but you need to be high into the screen. -- into this

:26:19.:26:28.

green. He will send it beyond the flag and hope it comes back.

:26:29.:26:36.

Kjeldsen at eight hitting a little trick shot. About all he could do

:26:37.:26:42.

from there. Jason Day, we'll see if he can get

:26:43.:26:58.

some height on this. Coming in from 140. Behind the pin, spin it back.

:26:59.:27:08.

It will go. It will go. It must go. Don't stay there. That is... When we

:27:09.:27:16.

saw Westwood's ball go all the way down, how can that stay? Kilts on.

:27:17.:27:30.

To get within two. -- Kjeldsen to get within two. Almost identical to

:27:31.:27:34.

Rory McIlroy's Miss here are a few moments ago in his bid for eagle.

:27:35.:27:42.

That'll be par. For Soren Kjeldsen, who is now tied for second with

:27:43.:27:50.

Danny Willett and Smylie Kaufman. One shot back is Lee Westwood.

:27:51.:27:54.

Beyond the flag Dustin Johnson goes. He's gone further up the slope than

:27:55.:28:02.

Kjeldsen. Comes back with a bit more momentum. This could be remarkable

:28:03.:28:10.

from Dustin Johnson. There we are, understands the contours and battle

:28:11.:28:14.

be a tap in par. Strange and beautiful place, Augusta. Matthew

:28:15.:28:23.

Fitzpatrick, second shot to the par 515. This is on the extreme left

:28:24.:28:28.

side of the green, very narrow back there. No bailouts here. Good shot.

:28:29.:28:42.

Justin Rose. He's got it back to two over par. A good tee shot. Stay

:28:43.:29:01.

there. That's going to go, is it? Is it? It hangs on for dear life.

:29:02.:29:09.

Oh boy. It's never a good sign. Where is that going to end up.

:29:10.:29:21.

Looking at Justin Rose, his scorecard, three birdies in the last

:29:22.:29:29.

four. A great run as we go to McIlroy with this Casey like putt.

:29:30.:29:46.

Never stop striving but there will come a time in his mind when he

:29:47.:29:53.

knows realistically, deep down, it's not going to be. You can see Justin

:29:54.:30:02.

Rose coming up alongside McIlroy now, two over. Critical shot here

:30:03.:30:08.

for Casey if he wants any chance to win this golf tournament he'll have

:30:09.:30:19.

to play a spectacular shot here. And that is one spectacular shot for

:30:20.:30:26.

Paul Casey. An eagle opportunity. Jordan Spieth, let's see what he

:30:27.:30:30.

makes of this, well below the level of the green to the right of the

:30:31.:30:32.

fifth. Slow down. Slow down. He's going to

:30:33.:30:49.

be tested again from 15 feet or so. Perhaps more.

:30:50.:30:56.

Jason Day. Unlucky his ball didn't go down... A little imperfection

:30:57.:31:13.

four feet short of the hole. Matsuyama. And welcome back, Peter

:31:14.:31:22.

Alice. Thank you, the excitement rolls on. It wasn't a very good tee

:31:23.:31:29.

shot for the Oriental wizard. And that may not be over yet. I'm not

:31:30.:31:39.

sure I like seeing things like that, but that's the way it is, it's been

:31:40.:31:46.

like that for three and a half days. Brandt Snedeker. A chance to get

:31:47.:31:54.

1-over. Birdie four... People are beginning to make a move. All this

:31:55.:32:00.

noise... Jordan Spieth will hear the applause and a few rules. -- and a

:32:01.:32:10.

few roars. McIlroy at nine. Well done. You'll breathe a sigh of

:32:11.:32:18.

relief it is nine holes out of the way. What a jump it was. This cues,

:32:19.:32:25.

Mrs, holed out, good shots. Something for everyone. Danny

:32:26.:32:32.

Willett, second to the par-5. Can he get home? Be good! And it is. Hopped

:32:33.:32:40.

up a little bit more. Great shot from Danny Willett. Eagle putt to

:32:41.:32:56.

follow. Justin Rose. At the 10th. Only two over par. He's had a very

:32:57.:33:05.

adventurous three days. Beautiful putt. Players today showing what

:33:06.:33:17.

they can do when conditions are more benign. Matthew Fitzpatrick eagle

:33:18.:33:29.

putt on the 15th. Hit it, hit it. Birdie to come for Fitzpatrick. He

:33:30.:33:34.

birdied 14 as well. He will get back to two over with this. Into the top

:33:35.:33:37.

ten. Jordan Spieth. Not 1 million miles

:33:38.:33:52.

away, but that is a dropped shot. Danny Willett is going to have a

:33:53.:34:15.

putt to tie the lead shortly. Unpleasant miss at the 6th. Double

:34:16.:34:16.

bogey for Matsuyama. Kaufman. So near. That was for

:34:17.:34:25.

three, but wasn't to be. Just a little whisker untidy.

:34:26.:34:47.

Thought he'd got that one, but no. He's hanging in there, 1-under par,

:34:48.:35:06.

outside Pavin and Kjeldsen. -- outside Willett.

:35:07.:35:16.

What a record he's had in the Majors. What a year he had last

:35:17.:35:30.

year. Back to 3-under. Kjeldsen, Willett and Kaufman two shots behind

:35:31.:35:43.

Westwood, three behind... Kjeldsen. 1-under par. Gave that a good clip.

:35:44.:35:52.

And it's going to stop... No, it's not, unlucky. Something he had no

:35:53.:35:59.

control over. Couldn't make it way all the way back, could it? It might

:36:00.:36:06.

do, it's gathering a bit of speed. I fancy it will slow down. Yes,

:36:07.:36:08.

hopeless putt from there. Playing alongside Danny Willett

:36:09.:36:30.

here. He's had a bit of trouble on this hole. This, for his birdie. He

:36:31.:36:45.

is giving this a go. OK, nice putt. Only three behind the lead. Looking

:36:46.:36:58.

back up the ninth, Snedeker. Lots of shuffling and twitching of the

:36:59.:37:04.

shoulders, then a quick swing. Steady. So many shots become almost

:37:05.:37:13.

frightening when they go towards the green and you are praying for them

:37:14.:37:21.

to stop in some cases. Because if it takes one revolution, you know it's

:37:22.:37:30.

gone. Kaufman on six. Back right pin. He likes it. No, no, no. It's

:37:31.:37:44.

difficult, isn't it? The actual landing area, the flat area, is only

:37:45.:37:53.

3-4 yd.2. Not much at all. That is where someone like Faldo is so good

:37:54.:37:57.

around this course, the precision of his iron play. Danny Willett, putt

:37:58.:38:02.

on 18 to tie the lead. Not 1 million miles away and Willett

:38:03.:38:21.

moves within one of Jordan Spieth. The eighth is playing fairly gently

:38:22.:38:25.

today. Willett, what a tidy card that is. Birdies on six and eight,

:38:26.:38:31.

moving along so well. Our leader at the 6th.

:38:32.:38:46.

He fancies it. Whoa... Is not a short hitter himself, Spieth. No,

:38:47.:39:05.

it's a struggle. These past three days, three and a half days, it's

:39:06.:39:13.

been desperately hard work. There hasn't been a lot to enjoy this week

:39:14.:39:20.

when it comes down to the golf. He does wear his heart on his sleeve,

:39:21.:39:24.

Spieth, you know exactly what he's thinking. Casey for an eagle. Again,

:39:25.:39:35.

very tidy round by Casey. Third birdie. No dropped shots. He is

:39:36.:39:43.

1-over. Britain is very well represented in the top ten. Let's

:39:44.:39:48.

look at the leaderboard. Jordan Spieth's lead is just one ahead of

:39:49.:39:53.

Danny Willett. Soren Kjeldsen and two 1-under. Paul Casey as well.

:39:54.:39:57.

Matt Fitzpatrick just inside the top ten. We've seen a bit of action on

:39:58.:40:00.

the eighth green recently and earlier on today Ken was down there.

:40:01.:40:06.

Well, I wonder where the pin is at eight today, the par-5. Ten on, five

:40:07.:40:16.

from the right. I've not seen it there on the final day before. The

:40:17.:40:20.

front portion of the green, the narrowest part. The front portion of

:40:21.:40:23.

the green is a little upslope. It doesn't entice you to landing the

:40:24.:40:30.

ball in. But this is an eagle chance. If you pitch it on this

:40:31.:40:34.

chance here there is every chance it will kick round into the flag. The

:40:35.:40:40.

same thing on the other side, it gathers up. If you miss on the other

:40:41.:40:46.

side you are in the reasonableness, and pitch it on the other bank and

:40:47.:40:50.

you have the same thing. They have put this spot where there might be

:40:51.:40:56.

one or two eagles. If you are pitching in... If you are slightly

:40:57.:40:59.

out, and this breeze is interesting, we are about ten left of the flag

:41:00.:41:04.

and if you pitch it here, well I never. It is so difficult to get the

:41:05.:41:09.

ball down in two from there. If you get it right on the eight you have

:41:10.:41:12.

got two good blows and you have an eagle chance. If you get it wrong,

:41:13.:41:20.

difficult to get it done in two. COMMENTATOR: A wonderful description

:41:21.:41:26.

of the difficulties. So precise when it is playing the way it is, firm,

:41:27.:41:32.

windy. But somebody will be happy in a few hours' time. They will be

:41:33.:41:34.

jubilant. Smylie Kaufman. Played this well. Very well indeed.

:41:35.:41:54.

Lovely touch from Smylie Kaufman. He has not seemed over phased by the

:41:55.:42:03.

task today. Now, Snedeker and the ninth, Cross Green, long putt.

:42:04.:42:11.

Stay up. This tails off. Pretty much every putt is stressful. Patrick.

:42:12.:42:26.

Birdie, par, bogey in the first three rounds. Heading in the wrong

:42:27.:42:32.

direction. He's gone straight at it! Sitcom he says. Lovely tee shot from

:42:33.:42:38.

Fitzpatrick. Just birdied the last two holes as well, two over for the

:42:39.:42:42.

tournament. The ninth, Celts in for a birdie. He has butted sideways.

:42:43.:42:49.

The flag is bottom left of your screen and here it comes. It might

:42:50.:42:56.

go in! No, just left. But that is a very good touch.

:42:57.:43:02.

Big drive from Dustin Johnson on the eighth. Nudging and iron up there,

:43:03.:43:13.

that is a massive drive! Look at this! Oh! Well, he was unlucky

:43:14.:43:18.

there. If it had subcommittee would have been within two inches or even

:43:19.:43:25.

in the hole. Beautiful shot. He won't have any idea how far away

:43:26.:43:33.

that is or how near, but that is a wonderful result. Now, Jordan

:43:34.:43:46.

Spieth. A bit of noise. Four birdies on the 6th hole in 11 rounds, Jordan

:43:47.:43:48.

Spieth. It's coming, in she comes! It is!

:43:49.:44:08.

There is another one! He has holed some crucial putts! Is amazing.

:44:09.:44:20.

Five in 12 at this hole now. Another two at the 6th, for Jordan Spieth.

:44:21.:44:33.

After the Lord Mayor 's show, Kaufman taps in for par. A great

:44:34.:44:45.

par. A two shot lead now from Danny Willett. It was a short one and now

:44:46.:44:52.

they go all the way back. This one stretched all the way back. A

:44:53.:44:55.

totally different hole now, the seventh. This must be close to 100

:44:56.:45:03.

yards over the years. Let's see if Fitzpatrick can make his two. Yes he

:45:04.:45:09.

can. Three birdies in a row from Matt Fitzpatrick. 1-over. Tied for

:45:10.:45:19.

sixth with Paul Casey. McIlroy once more off line, in trouble.

:45:20.:45:35.

Jason Day. As Ken was explaining, the trouble is was down on the wrong

:45:36.:45:56.

side of the Mount. He's played a very good shot. 1-over at the

:45:57.:46:00.

moment, no birdies on his card today. Back for his first. -- the

:46:01.:46:13.

mound. Justin Rose, at the 11th. Good second shot he has played in

:46:14.:46:22.

here. Sneaky putt, this one. Sneaky, sneaky, tailing off.

:46:23.:46:28.

He keep leaving yourself those three, four footers on these

:46:29.:46:40.

lightning fast greens. Is this the first drive of the day from Spieth?

:46:41.:46:46.

If it is, it has worked well. A little coaching session this morning

:46:47.:46:50.

and it appears to have worked. Nicely done.

:46:51.:46:58.

Let's have a look at Casey, his second to the 14th. The pin today is

:46:59.:47:13.

back right. Just about there. Felt good, he said. Looks good. A chance

:47:14.:47:18.

the KC to get back to level par. -- a chance for Paul Casey to get back

:47:19.:47:27.

to level par. Burstyn Hoffman. Dustin Johnson, in fact! Who is

:47:28.:47:30.

Dustin Hoffman, I've heard that name before.

:47:31.:47:35.

Oh! This is the most frustrating game! Frustrating game...

:47:36.:47:44.

APPLAUSE But that is a magnificent birdie. An

:47:45.:47:54.

outstanding bit of method acting. McIlroy come out of the bunker.

:47:55.:48:01.

GROANS FROM CROWD He races it. At least one more go.

:48:02.:48:17.

Kaufman can send it out there, looking a bit anxiously left. Tight,

:48:18.:48:29.

but should be OK. The pin today is gettable. You lose a bit of control

:48:30.:48:34.

coming out of that first cut. Danny Willett, at the 9th. He has hit it

:48:35.:48:43.

way by the trees. Hoping for the best. It scuttles into the crowd.

:48:44.:48:50.

Where did it go? Where's it gone? It rolled towards his feet. Jason

:48:51.:49:02.

Day, for his first birdie of this final round.

:49:03.:49:21.

Yes indeed! Jason Day back to level par, the world number one within

:49:22.:49:29.

four of Spieth. Not too much happening on the card, but back

:49:30.:49:36.

where he started, now level. He only took that putter back about half an

:49:37.:49:41.

inch. Lee Westwood, going along very nicely. Playing uphill to the ninth.

:49:42.:49:50.

And he has played a beauty. It's going to stick. He's not far away,

:49:51.:49:58.

but that's not a putt you can have a go at.

:49:59.:50:03.

Paul Casey. Glorious second shot to the 14th.

:50:04.:50:14.

He could do a bit of damage if he pops this in.

:50:15.:50:23.

But he doesn't. Pop it in and then a Svarsvald finish. Remember that? A

:50:24.:50:40.

couple of birdies from nowhere and he won the tournament. Playing

:50:41.:50:45.

nicely, Casey. Good to see. The 15th to come. He will take it

:50:46.:50:55.

out on the drive. Deep in the crowd. There he is, on

:50:56.:51:11.

the little top left. Chipping through the deck chairs. Before

:51:12.:51:15.

that, Kjeldsen. That's a good shot from Kjeldsen.

:51:16.:51:27.

Uphill putt. Danny Willett. Third shot, ninth

:51:28.:51:53.

hole. Using the slope. This could be canny, or it could... It's going to

:51:54.:52:00.

work. Don't stop. Don't even think about stopping. Don't even think of

:52:01.:52:12.

it. It is. Ooh, left him down the side of the precipice. There is

:52:13.:52:19.

Danny. He's up to 12 in the world now. He's had a view injury problems

:52:20.:52:25.

with his back, but he's becoming a really world-class player and almost

:52:26.:52:28.

nailed on for a Ryder Cup place later this year. We look at Jason

:52:29.:52:33.

Day. Tee shot on the ninth. Not good. Get lucky.

:52:34.:52:41.

Well, that was a fierce "All right", but that means they've found the

:52:42.:52:55.

ball. How that was all right... You never know, he might be able to

:52:56.:52:59.

squirt it through. Kaufman's second to this elevated seventh green. Will

:53:00.:53:10.

that go back? Almost high enough up. That just stopped on the collar.

:53:11.:53:19.

Gone straight at it, I fancy. And he... Yes. Is that going to move

:53:20.:53:38.

down? It is but it's moving left. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:53:39.:53:57.

I'm not sure I enjoyed this sort of golf under these conditions... This

:53:58.:54:02.

is a very severe. Lee Westwood, great second shot in, plenty of

:54:03.:54:08.

right-to-left on this. He's got it! Lee Westwood gets to 1-under par.

:54:09.:54:13.

Three birdies in the last four holes, out in 34 and he is within

:54:14.:54:20.

three. The old fire is burning. That's great. Now, Fitzpatrick. He's

:54:21.:54:28.

on a great run at the moment. Good tee shot here. And he's played a

:54:29.:54:33.

beautiful second. Now, Justin Rose has made his way to

:54:34.:54:46.

the 12th tee. 152 today. Not quite as much wind to play havoc with

:54:47.:54:47.

Mainz. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:54:48.:55:07.

Ooh, that will give you palpitations. Danny Willett, at the

:55:08.:55:15.

9th for his par. This would be a great putt to hole. And he has. Wow.

:55:16.:55:24.

The man Ian White, the white suit. -- the man in white. When was it

:55:25.:55:30.

that White became so popular to play golf in? Five years ago? Now, can it

:55:31.:55:40.

be four in a row for Fitzpatrick? Given himself every opportunity. He

:55:41.:55:49.

knew he had left it low. It scuttles on. Kaufman. Oh! He barely touched

:55:50.:56:00.

it. It's not going to turn right, it's going to whistle past.

:56:01.:56:06.

That was cruel, wasn't it, Peter? That is how close his second shot

:56:07.:56:14.

was. Another three or four inches. Remember the shot Ken showed us this

:56:15.:56:20.

morning when he blew the ball on the green and it went whizzing past the

:56:21.:56:26.

hole. Cheltenham. It's not going to go quite. A good four. The European

:56:27.:56:35.

contingent are showing up very well this week, with holes running out.

:56:36.:56:40.

Which is nice to see. They haven't really been in that position for a

:56:41.:56:46.

long time. There we are come immediately behind Spieth, Danny

:56:47.:56:51.

Willett, Soren Kjeldsen, Lee Westwood. Then you find Fitzpatrick

:56:52.:56:55.

and Paul Casey, all inside the top ten.

:56:56.:56:58.

Bryson DeChambeau. Putt fought a three at the last. And he's done it!

:56:59.:57:17.

Well done. Well, I wonder what the future holds for this young man.

:57:18.:57:20.

Turning pro immediately, or tomorrow, I guess. We shall see.

:57:21.:57:29.

Many have had an amateur career, a sparkling amateur career and gone on

:57:30.:57:32.

to become first-class players of the game at the highest level. Others

:57:33.:57:33.

have faded away. He will be in the Butler Cabin later

:57:34.:57:46.

on as leading amateur. Romain Langasque saved his best for the

:57:47.:57:50.

final day, a 68 to move up to ten is over. Bryson DeChambeau will play a

:57:51.:57:58.

tournament next week as a professional. Justin Rose, birdie

:57:59.:58:00.

putt. So, Jordan Spieth. He backs off

:58:01.:58:23.

again. A little bit Keegan Bradley ish. He settles over it, back he

:58:24.:58:34.

goes. Jim Furyk as well. Spieth. He knocks it in. Another hole

:58:35.:58:35.

completed. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:58:36.:58:48.

At is a good run. Three shots clear, eight clear of McIlroy. A better tee

:58:49.:58:55.

shot today from McIlroy on the 11th. The twirl of the club. He's just

:58:56.:59:00.

going after pins now and it's cost him. Into the water again a very

:59:01.:59:06.

different way of getting there, but swimming once more. It's one of

:59:07.:59:10.

those weeks. It's one of those weeks. Nothing. So full of hope four

:59:11.:59:19.

days ago and now back to the drawing board. Just not your week.

:59:20.:59:23.

He still can't quite believe it happened. You heard him say, are you

:59:24.:59:30.

kidding me? Twirl, twirl. All over the flag. "I Like this"...

:59:31.:59:34.

Just a couple of yards short in carry and that was enough.

:59:35.:59:45.

He misses. Kaufman. Peter, isn't that like the 70 yesterday when

:59:46.:59:53.

Spieth was playing with McIlroy, because he has just rolled in his

:59:54.:59:59.

birdie putt and Kaufman has three putted. Dustin Johnson, second shot

:00:00.:00:03.

to the ninth, level par. Not too much. Steady. Good shot.

:00:04.:00:26.

Spieth. 3-wood again. Lost a couple of these out to the right short of

:00:27.:00:31.

that bunker. Right of that bunker. He has birdied it everyday. And

:00:32.:00:39.

think it's remarkable considering he's not the biggest of hitters by a

:00:40.:00:44.

long way but he's managed to get it up there and a pitch and up at three

:00:45.:00:46.

times. It's a good tee shot. This is the result of his tee shot

:00:47.:01:01.

on nine. He's got a little gap, going to try and chase it on up the

:01:02.:01:02.

hill. It'll just go off the green and

:01:03.:01:22.

stick, I fancy. Yes. Again, a few inches left. It could have rolled

:01:23.:01:28.

back, but no, still get four. Problems with the drop of Rory

:01:29.:01:35.

McIlroy. Welcome back, Ken Brown. Ken commits one of those days when

:01:36.:01:40.

you are a thing of puffing, wiping sweat of your brow, thinking what

:01:41.:01:43.

might have been. He should have done this, I could have done that.

:01:44.:01:48.

We'll leave Rory to his deliberations as we see the Ryder

:01:49.:01:53.

Cup captain for American. We'll see a lot of him in the next few months

:01:54.:01:58.

and we saw a lot of him today, especially at the 16th with the

:01:59.:02:02.

hole-in-one. He turns 52 on Wednesday and an early present for

:02:03.:02:07.

him today, let's hear from him. A moment of magic on 16, do you mind

:02:08.:02:13.

talking us through? Webb Simpson was wanting to hit 8-iron. And Paul's

:02:14.:02:19.

caddy was trying to talk him out of it. He came up short. I said, I can

:02:20.:02:25.

get this as hard as I want. I hit the backstop. We heard the roar

:02:26.:02:28.

earlier, I knew there was a chance. When I hit it, the green, a lady

:02:29.:02:32.

behind the Green said, it's going to break right in. We all started

:02:33.:02:37.

watching. I can't believe it, I was happy for Webb Simpson to make eagle

:02:38.:02:42.

and get crisp on 13, disappointed I haven't got any. At the last minute

:02:43.:02:46.

I got a piece. A wonderful moment for us to watch, thank you for

:02:47.:02:51.

coming in to explain it all to us. I'm sure Davies is going to be

:02:52.:02:55.

seeing quite a lot of the Englishman currently in the top ten. There

:02:56.:02:59.

four. Danny Willett within three of Jordan Spieth. Lee Westwood also

:03:00.:03:06.

under par. That Fitzpatrick going beautifully and Paul Casey also in a

:03:07.:03:11.

tie for eighth. Seven out of the eight English men in the field made

:03:12.:03:15.

the cut, a record, they are certainly putting in quite a

:03:16.:03:20.

performance. Here's one of them. The... On 15. A very receptive and

:03:21.:03:26.

easy position to get at with a short iron. Third shot for Casey par-5.

:03:27.:03:39.

Nicely done. McIlroy picked out of the water. Fourth shot at the 11th.

:03:40.:03:52.

Sweet little pitch. The best he could do is five.

:03:53.:04:01.

My goodness. This is a bit of a funfair ride, this one. Over there

:04:02.:04:13.

on the middle tier. It's not bad. He's got his left-hand wing:.

:04:14.:04:23.

Settle. Settle. Very nice. So, so tricky.

:04:24.:04:26.

What about. Beautiful shot. -- what a Altur. They're not really stopping

:04:27.:04:51.

very quickly. It's all a bit of a lottery.

:04:52.:04:57.

Johnson. Nicely done. It's easy to over boiled down the right inside

:04:58.:05:04.

the cut. Very civilised crowds, aren't they?

:05:05.:05:16.

All golf crowds are, I think they're amazing. All kept in control by a

:05:17.:05:21.

bit of string down the side of the fairway. When you think some games

:05:22.:05:26.

they have machine guns and barbed wire and God knows what. Police

:05:27.:05:31.

dogs. Very civilised. They might be a bit grumpy some people who play

:05:32.:05:34.

golf, but they are all right. Fitzpatrick plays according shot. I

:05:35.:05:40.

think he our big star of the future. We've got three, four, five of them

:05:41.:05:44.

at the moment. This very usable young man looks as though he might

:05:45.:05:51.

be the best. -- youthful young man. That was very high tariff.

:05:52.:05:58.

36. Into the back nine on Sunday. At the Masters. Westward at ten. --

:05:59.:06:09.

Westwood at ten. That was not what we wanted. Bad

:06:10.:06:27.

shot. Overclocked and hooked. It flew. Jordan Spieth up over the

:06:28.:06:42.

hill. At the 8th. His driving iron has a low flight, it runs like a

:06:43.:06:46.

good. Can he feed it through the gap? He has, its perfection. The

:06:47.:06:51.

little upslope killed it. If you're going to miss the green, that is a

:06:52.:06:56.

nice spot. It shows you the changing conditions, he's not the longest of

:06:57.:07:01.

hitters. A yard or two short of the green. The first time I saw this I

:07:02.:07:04.

didn't think anyone had ever reached it in two. The bunker on the right

:07:05.:07:09.

has been increased over the years, sneakily made bigger and bigger. The

:07:10.:07:13.

contour of the hill has remained the same. They tucked the green round

:07:14.:07:18.

the corner at the end of a couple of banks either side. No bunkers. So

:07:19.:07:23.

it's one of those holes that's just there. It causes bother.

:07:24.:07:31.

Down the hill. A shot to play with caution. That is slightly

:07:32.:07:39.

overcautious. Better there than on the other side. That won't be easy.

:07:40.:07:51.

It will test your nerve. 13th hole. Justin Rose. Is he having a cut at

:07:52.:07:58.

it? Risky. It sounded fluffy and heavy. Perhaps he's just playing up.

:07:59.:08:04.

Short of the green. No, he's not. He had a go at it. I didn't see it in

:08:05.:08:11.

the shadow. Maybe in the brook, the little stream. It did hang on. Well,

:08:12.:08:21.

it's a bit of good fortune. Got to bump this up the bank on it so

:08:22.:08:25.

tricky. You've got to keep it low and chasing. It's a magic shocked. A

:08:26.:08:31.

little unlucky but he'll take it. Wouldn't want it again. Easy to snag

:08:32.:08:35.

it on the bank and scooped it off the front of the green. He's done it

:08:36.:08:43.

again. This remarkable young man. I bet they ask him for an identity if

:08:44.:08:49.

he goes and buys a bottle of beer at the local. He'll be certainly here

:08:50.:08:54.

next year. And for a few more years to come. Well done, well played,

:08:55.:09:02.

we're proud of you. 3-wood off the 10th tee. So strong. Clubface under

:09:03.:09:11.

control. Smart it every time, drawing it down the hill, pins the

:09:12.:09:19.

downslope in the ideal spot. -- it pains to equippings. He's got no

:09:20.:09:31.

weaknesses, Jason Day. -- --it pings.

:09:32.:09:38.

No. Suddenly slowed up. Look as if he had plenty of run at it, but no,

:09:39.:09:54.

wasn't to be. An uncharacteristic loose iron for him, he's hit a lot

:09:55.:10:02.

of wonderful irons. Johnson. Down the hill at the 10th.

:10:03.:10:09.

He has long arms, hasn't he? He has. That didn't run at all. Didn't run a

:10:10.:10:29.

yard. Or more than a yard. Casey at the 15th. Drops into the cup. Very

:10:30.:10:37.

nice, back to even par. Into six spot. Dustin Johnson and Matt that

:10:38.:10:47.

Patrick. Danny Willett with a similar putt to Westwood.

:10:48.:10:56.

Left-to-right. Pace and line. That looks better. It was right... You

:10:57.:11:07.

can't complain about that. So treacherous. Four is a very good

:11:08.:11:16.

score. Four and three round here, you'll take home a big cheque. A

:11:17.:11:29.

good break for Justin Rose. Took a gamble with his second. This is a

:11:30.:11:33.

nice third. Looks like a birdie, Ken. He's such a thorough

:11:34.:11:39.

professional these days. Beautiful looking player. Rory McIlroy, tee

:11:40.:11:45.

shot at 12. Steady. Lots of support for Rory.

:11:46.:12:00.

But it hasn't been his week. Top sporting people get that, they don't

:12:01.:12:01.

know why, it just doesn't happen. Nice birdie, got a deserved lead

:12:02.:12:14.

break. He's had a visit down the bank into that little stream earlier

:12:15.:12:18.

in the week. 1-over, tiptoeing up the leaderboard. Soren Kjeldsen.

:12:19.:12:26.

Here's a he wouldn't fancy. -- here is a shot you wouldn't fancy.

:12:27.:12:31.

Magnificent. Steady. Has he? He's done very well. That was a

:12:32.:12:37.

frighteningly difficult shot. Big old footballers watching this

:12:38.:12:52.

week, Alan Shearer is here, Alex Ferguson. I think you should

:12:53.:12:56.

organise a competition on haircuts, the haircut of the top pros against

:12:57.:13:01.

the haircut of the Premier division. Premier division haircuts are a

:13:02.:13:05.

joke, aren't they? Probably cost hundreds of pounds. My local

:13:06.:13:11.

headrest could do about 50 of those and hour. Up the sides, short back

:13:12.:13:18.

and sides. Let's see a bit of magic. No. Not this week, Josephine. Been

:13:19.:13:28.

different each day, some days he hasn't got the pace and he's not

:13:29.:13:32.

quite seeing the lines. It's been a frustrating week on the greens for

:13:33.:13:35.

Rory. It came with such high expectations, so many people are

:13:36.:13:39.

writing about the hype, winning this. Sport isn't like that, really.

:13:40.:13:44.

Jason Day at ten after a nice T-shirt. -- tee shot. He has work to

:13:45.:13:55.

do if to catch Spieth. He doesn't like it. Left. Down there, yes.

:13:56.:14:10.

That's not fair. It seemed to move up the hill.

:14:11.:14:20.

Irish Open champion last year. Casey. At the 16th. We seen a couple

:14:21.:14:34.

of ones here today. He likes this one, too, by the look of it. He

:14:35.:14:35.

doesn't now. Straight in the sand. 180 yards. A nudge of the seven or

:14:36.:14:52.

even eight for him. He is so powerful. Coming in from the right.

:14:53.:15:05.

Golden shot. He could dump a basketball. It takes a bit of doing.

:15:06.:15:11.

It does, with both your feet on the floor. We can dunk a biscuit. That's

:15:12.:15:18.

about the best we can do. Where is this one? He's whistled this one

:15:19.:15:26.

through the back, old Smylie He's played some good chip and run

:15:27.:15:32.

today. It's galloping on. I thought it would be within 3-4 feet. Spieth

:15:33.:15:43.

in such a good spot, such a good chip. Willett at the 11th. Very well

:15:44.:15:57.

indeed. Quick rhythm. And that's a perfect drive. Lovely position.

:15:58.:16:11.

Casey is going to have to use the slope beyond the pin. A little bit

:16:12.:16:25.

of Lady luck... Is he far enough up? He couldn't, could he? Tell you

:16:26.:16:29.

what, it's got a chance. High quality. There's something about the

:16:30.:16:36.

back nine on Sunday here, things happen. A lot of it is to do with

:16:37.:16:42.

where they put the flags. You've got to fancy this one, Peter. I think he

:16:43.:16:47.

might nip this in. It's so inviting up the hill, nice lie. A little stab

:16:48.:16:57.

there. Interesting to look at all the stats, they've got statistics

:16:58.:17:02.

here for everything. After day one he was, overall, 71st. Dave two he

:17:03.:17:11.

was back to 34. Yesterday, 53. He's leading all the way through the

:17:12.:17:15.

tournament, never been near the top of the lead on anything except

:17:16.:17:16.

putting. Drifting right, Lee Westwood, at 11.

:17:17.:17:34.

He needs a bit of luck. I'm not sure he's got it. Hard to tell from that

:17:35.:17:42.

angle. Currently Spieth by three from Danny Willett and Dustin

:17:43.:17:46.

Johnson, the only three players under par. Spieth has an excellent

:17:47.:17:49.

chance of making birdie at number eight. This is where Jason Day's

:17:50.:17:57.

ball finished, down the hill. He's got plenty of room to miss the tree.

:17:58.:18:02.

If he gets this within seven or eight feet, he'll have done

:18:03.:18:06.

brilliantly. He pitches on the green, does he flop it up short? He

:18:07.:18:13.

goes for the high one. It's a way, look at it, scuffles by.

:18:14.:18:18.

Very chilly first thing this morning but it's warmed up as the day has

:18:19.:18:41.

gone by, it's quite pleasant. This, to extend his lead. He looks at the

:18:42.:18:51.

hole as he putts, it's amazing. Well done, beautifully played, good

:18:52.:18:55.

drive, nice iron to the front of the green giving himself the Saint list

:18:56.:18:58.

of chips. That is how you steady the ship. -- the simplest of chips. It's

:18:59.:19:04.

impressive, but it's not impressive to watch, know what I mean? It's not

:19:05.:19:10.

thundering drives. He makes fluffy little minor clock ups here there

:19:11.:19:13.

and everywhere. Every time he plays a good shot, holes putt, it's not

:19:14.:19:19.

magical to watch, it's like listening to Willie Nelson thing, he

:19:20.:19:23.

can't sing at all and he still makes records. -- Willie Nelson sing.

:19:24.:19:39.

A couple over on his round today, back to even par. Three bogeys, been

:19:40.:19:49.

a bit unlucky. After that great result from the bunker. Casey for

:19:50.:19:58.

history at 16. -- for his free. Yes, well done, good escape.

:19:59.:20:07.

Looks like he's got a swing. It must be touch and go. Water to the left

:20:08.:20:17.

of the green, he'll have to aim it a little left and cut it off. Doesn't

:20:18.:20:23.

want to be too ambitious. He's been fortunate... It about 6-iron. Second

:20:24.:20:29.

to the 11. Miles in the air. Wonderful shot,

:20:30.:20:47.

not taking any risks, he absolutely picked it off. Those pine needles,

:20:48.:20:52.

so easy to slip, to miss it. The knife hole, the leader. Plotting his

:20:53.:20:57.

way around. -- the ninth hole. No great danger down there. He's all

:20:58.:21:22.

right. Thought he was a bit tight down the left. The trees may be in

:21:23.:21:28.

his view but they won't interfere with the shot. A huge drive up the

:21:29.:21:40.

13th. Had a bit of luck... Probably seven 8-iron. No. Rory has had no

:21:41.:21:51.

brakes at all. Jason Day for par at ten.

:21:52.:21:56.

Here she comes. Dear me. Couldn't get it any closer. Without it's

:21:57.:22:10.

dropping. It's a shot gone. Off a perfect tee shot.

:22:11.:22:18.

12. Kjeldsen. Playing 152 yards today. 9-iron, a big 9-iron. Right

:22:19.:22:37.

over the flag. Bit of helping him. -- bit of breeze helping him. His

:22:38.:22:42.

family with him, all smiling. Willett. Has he got the courage, the

:22:43.:22:53.

skill, the nerve? He has. Steady now, steady. That's a great shot,

:22:54.:23:01.

great result. Very good chance for a birdie. Haven't been many of those

:23:02.:23:08.

here at the 11th today. Dustin Johnson. The closest we've seen for

:23:09.:23:19.

a birdie at the 10th. Been three birdies at ten, one at 11 and two at

:23:20.:23:21.

12. Only two at the 18th yesterday, it's

:23:22.:23:33.

hard work. Johnson taps in. It was a good four, beautiful drive. Tipped

:23:34.:23:41.

around the hole. Same school as a scruffy four. -- it's the same score

:23:42.:23:51.

as a scruffy four. Kjeldsen, nothing in this, virtually dead straight and

:23:52.:23:55.

he booms it in as you'd expect. Well done, Soren.

:23:56.:24:08.

Matt Kuchar trying at Tiger. It looks rather good. It's looking very

:24:09.:24:15.

good. "Every Macro" They are crying.

:24:16.:24:32.

STUDIO: Plenty to celebrate. Gretchen macro "?Kuch.

:24:33.:24:39.

Superb from this young man, he began the day in a tie for 23 and

:24:40.:24:47.

currently tied fourth. Looks like he's in himself an invitation back

:24:48.:24:50.

here next year. Let's hear from Matthew. 67 on the final day of the

:24:51.:24:57.

Masters, what was the key? Just flushed it, absolutely flushed it

:24:58.:25:04.

tee to green. Hit some great irons. Obviously you have to hole the

:25:05.:25:07.

putts, but gave myself a lot of chances. It sounds terrible but it

:25:08.:25:12.

really could have been better. When you think about how the week

:25:13.:25:15.

progressed, what have you gathered from this week that you could help

:25:16.:25:20.

put into practice in future? I think just my performance, we picked up

:25:21.:25:25.

something on 17 that we would pick up next time we come. Maybe little

:25:26.:25:30.

things like that, breaks you don't quite see this time. It all goes

:25:31.:25:35.

down in the book. When you first came here you made lots of notes,

:25:36.:25:42.

Nick Faldo noted you made an note on 18. Look forward to seeing you back

:25:43.:25:46.

in 12 months' time. Perfect, thank you.

:25:47.:25:51.

I wonder if Matty Fitzpatrick has ever had to buy a razor blade. To be

:25:52.:26:02.

so good at that tender age. That was a brilliant par. Found the trees off

:26:03.:26:03.

the tee. Our leader is 6-under. Danny Willett

:26:04.:26:20.

has this to get within three. It's makeable. Up the hill. Not that

:26:21.:26:22.

quick. This is what you hope for when you

:26:23.:26:33.

come to the Masters. Do at least have a chance. This'll be almost

:26:34.:26:35.

impossible to leave short. A couple of miscues. Two balls in

:26:36.:26:58.

the water at 11. You will always look back on what might have been.

:26:59.:27:01.

In his quest to secure his legacy. 13th, trying to work a little free

:27:02.:27:19.

wood around the corner. -- 3-wood. Marvellous shot. A flat drawer,

:27:20.:27:22.

tight line down the left side, shortens the hole. He's a cut of the

:27:23.:27:32.

ball generally, easy to turn it around the dogleg. In a macro

:27:33.:27:36.

beautiful shot. A really good look at the 9th green. Let's have a

:27:37.:27:40.

listen to Spieth. Write down the middle, but it's a

:27:41.:28:03.

very risky angle. -- right down the middle.

:28:04.:28:09.

Very risky angle to go directly at the flag.

:28:10.:28:27.

You cannot come up short here. I think the caddy was trying to her on

:28:28.:28:45.

the long side. Jordan has just squished this. -- he has two err.

:28:46.:28:59.

Nailed it. And he's right. Player knows best. Come on down the hill. A

:29:00.:29:03.

traffic shot. -- it is a terrific shot. Pretty

:29:04.:29:13.

brave to get it pin hi, not safety long. He said it was a good call.

:29:14.:29:19.

Sometimes the caddy gets all the wrap and never any of the love.

:29:20.:29:29.

Can you remember creamy Caroline who used to caddy for Arnie in the early

:29:30.:29:38.

days customer I certainly do. Par at ten and 11. At the 12th. No, no...

:29:39.:29:52.

Right on the edge there. That would have ended his chances. Now still

:29:53.:29:54.

very much alive. What a marvellous par-3, playing 152

:29:55.:30:07.

yards. Over ways Creek. Shallow green. -- Rae's Creek. 89 iron or so

:30:08.:30:19.

today. It teases you with club selection because the wind tends to

:30:20.:30:21.

swirl. That's a good shot from Lee. Setting

:30:22.:30:46.

an even par, six shots behind Jordan Spieth. Dustin Johnson. This will be

:30:47.:30:54.

a bonds away. Go right. Go way right!

:30:55.:30:56.

Is trying to skirt the pine trees. That is... Just got to get lucky in

:30:57.:31:02.

there. 505 yards. The fairway used to be

:31:03.:31:18.

much wider on the right and then these pines were planted. Water on

:31:19.:31:25.

the left and bailing out to the right. That is the way to do it if

:31:26.:31:30.

you're going to do it. A treacherous par-4. Only one birdie on that hole

:31:31.:31:33.

today. Jason Day, at 11. Second shot. Yes.

:31:34.:31:49.

That's really all you can do from back there.

:31:50.:31:55.

This is well worth seeing again. We might see a view more interesting

:31:56.:32:08.

shots. -- a few more. From this point... They cheered just rings

:32:09.:32:14.

round Augusta whenever something special has happened. Three birdies

:32:15.:32:22.

in four holes. It sounds like they're booing, doesn't it? But they

:32:23.:32:32.

are going "Kuch!" Remember at the US Open, with his dad announcing?

:32:33.:32:37.

Kjeldsen hit that enormous tee shot there on 13 around the corner, but

:32:38.:32:44.

he hit it so far it hugged the left fairway, he got hooked and he was

:32:45.:32:51.

forced to lay up there. At least he had a swing. Looking to go down the

:32:52.:32:57.

hill. Settle. Settle, OK... All right. Very powerful physique. But

:32:58.:33:10.

he's had a bit of luck, Danny Willett. Sometimes you need it.

:33:11.:33:19.

World ranked number 12, Danny, these days. He's a really highly regarded

:33:20.:33:34.

player. A very makeable chance here for Jordan Spieth. Up the hill,

:33:35.:33:43.

and... Got it! He's got a stranglehold on this golf tournament

:33:44.:33:49.

at the moment. That is a five shot lead! Heading into the back nine at

:33:50.:33:55.

Augusta. Four birdies in a row for Jordan Spieth. Danny Willett is

:33:56.:34:00.

going to have to make some decisions now. How aggressive will Danny

:34:01.:34:07.

Willett be on 13? He has still got a little tickler on 12 for par. Louis

:34:08.:34:15.

Oosthuizen, King of the swingers. Oh! No! Go on, go on! Ridiculous!

:34:16.:34:36.

Have you ever seen anything like that? Never in my life!

:34:37.:34:45.

CHEERING Jamie has replaced his ball but

:34:46.:34:56.

Louis's counts, it is a one! Well, can you Adam and Eve it? It was

:34:57.:34:58.

amazing. A little acknowledgement from the

:34:59.:35:20.

fellow behind. I imagine we will see this for years and years and years.

:35:21.:35:26.

I've never seen anything like this. It's like playing billiards!

:35:27.:35:33.

CHEERING Look at the lady in pink, I think

:35:34.:35:36.

she likes it even more than he does! What a lovely moment. That is what

:35:37.:35:45.

makes the Masters so special. Here is Justin Rose. Going for it here on

:35:46.:35:54.

15. The hole is cut all the way in the back right corner of the green.

:35:55.:36:05.

That is a safe place to be. Not that difficult a bunker shot.

:36:06.:36:13.

Paul Casey. Lovely, lovely putt. He has played some really competent

:36:14.:36:27.

golf this week. He doesn't have to make the Ryder Cup team, of course

:36:28.:36:33.

he can't play, which is very disappointing, as he hasn't taken

:36:34.:36:41.

his card on the European Tour. Lee Westwood, for his birdie at 12. Time

:36:42.:36:52.

running out for Lee. Jordan has got his foot on the gas and doesn't seem

:36:53.:36:53.

to be letting up. Now, the nemesis tee shot for Jordan

:36:54.:36:58.

Spieth, the 10th hole. He's leaning like he's lost it a

:36:59.:37:19.

little right. He went with a 3-wood. Yeah, stay on the fairway. Well,

:37:20.:37:25.

he's a long, long way. When you hit it down the right side, you don't

:37:26.:37:33.

take advantage of that big slope. A critical putt for Danny Willett here

:37:34.:37:39.

at 12. He is a delightful putter. He's worked on it. When he first

:37:40.:37:43.

came on the Tour he was a steady, good, decent butter, but now he is

:37:44.:37:47.

top class. The 13th to come, the par-5. The end of Amen Corner.

:37:48.:37:58.

Hideki has stumbled a bit today. This for birdie. There we go! Four

:37:59.:38:07.

bogeys, three birdies today for Matsuyama.

:38:08.:38:13.

Playing up the slope here, with tilt on the green from right to left.

:38:14.:38:36.

Kjeldsen. He needs a good one. That's not going to come back much.

:38:37.:38:54.

Go on. OK. That's a really good chance.

:38:55.:39:01.

STUDIO Jordan Spieth going for back-to-back

:39:02.:39:06.

titles here. Wire to wire titles as well. He has made a decisive move

:39:07.:39:12.

over the last few holes. A reminder of the nature of that from the

:39:13.:39:15.

defending champion. He made a bogey at the 5th but his response was

:39:16.:39:21.

immediate and decisive. This was at the 6th. His parting touch so

:39:22.:39:28.

commanding on these greens. Curling putt, absolutely no doubt about

:39:29.:39:33.

where that was going. 15 feet, in the birdie. His second, to the

:39:34.:39:41.

seventh, now. Spins back. A little bit of knowledge here, again. That

:39:42.:39:46.

would yield back-to-back birdies to go three clear of the field. Now,

:39:47.:39:57.

with a long par-5 8th. Chipping up here, well within putt no space able

:39:58.:40:05.

range. Such a tricky putt, downhill, four

:40:06.:40:19.

in a row, and a five shot lead for space will stop the others are

:40:20.:40:22.

really going to have to chase it now. Kjeldsen running out of holes.

:40:23.:40:27.

Dustin Johnson will have to make his move very quickly as well. Matthew

:40:28.:40:31.

Fitzpatrick, the leader in the clubhouse. Lovely, Hazel.

:40:32.:40:45.

You often see people over-borrow that one. You think it's going to

:40:46.:40:52.

turn left towards a little stream and it just doesn't earn as much as

:40:53.:41:00.

you think. -- doesn't turn. Justin Rose. Makeable bunker shot, this,

:41:01.:41:07.

for eagle, if he can hole it. Just like a putt. Good effort. Steady

:41:08.:41:12.

now. All of a sudden it is eight feet past.

:41:13.:41:20.

That tall shadow across the 11th green. He has nudged his par in.

:41:21.:41:40.

Interesting week for Justin. He has played some good, tidy golf, after a

:41:41.:41:48.

slightly slow start to the week. He's been up and down, Justin, after

:41:49.:41:56.

a slow start. He has. We will be hearing more of this young man.

:41:57.:42:03.

We're sure to be seeing a lot more of the 22-year-old physics graduate

:42:04.:42:06.

with his scientific approach to the game. That 70 to level par round is

:42:07.:42:12.

his last as an amateur. Bryson, give us your thoughts on being the

:42:13.:42:15.

leading amateur at this year's masters. Couldn't be better. It's an

:42:16.:42:21.

incredible honour and one that I was hopefully looking forward to having

:42:22.:42:26.

and now it's here. What do you do from here now? What are the lessons

:42:27.:42:31.

you've learned here at Augusta? Rest. That is honestly one thing. I

:42:32.:42:35.

was tired out there today. It certainly showed on a few shots. Ten

:42:36.:42:41.

and 11, 13. Second shot in on 13 wasn't very good, because I got a

:42:42.:42:45.

little lazy and ultimately because I was a little tired. If I can plan

:42:46.:42:51.

out my week a little bit better and control that aspect of it, I think I

:42:52.:42:56.

will be well rested and ready to go over the weekend. Unfortunately I

:42:57.:42:59.

didn't play the way I wanted to yesterday. Today was a fine score. I

:43:00.:43:03.

could have done a lot better but that is everybody out there, it's a

:43:04.:43:07.

tough course and that is Augusta National. You have a lock to be

:43:08.:43:11.

proud of, well done. Thank you very much, appreciate it.

:43:12.:43:16.

COMMENTATOR: He is certainly a star of the future. That is a long ways

:43:17.:43:23.

back. I think right is better than left if you're going to miss the

:43:24.:43:28.

green. Blasted this. Just don't like!

:43:29.:43:32.

-- just don't plug! Well, it's a fast one. It's not plugged, good

:43:33.:43:47.

lie. This is what faces Jason Day, the flag on the right-hand side, not

:43:48.:43:49.

much wind movement on it. APPLAUSE

:43:50.:43:59.

Is taking that line, if you come up short you go in the front bunker. If

:44:00.:44:04.

it hits the bank, it will tiptoe back into the water. This is a

:44:05.:44:08.

critical shot for Danny Willett. You don't have to go at the flag, get it

:44:09.:44:15.

somewhere on the green. The flag is protected by a Rae's Creek here. He

:44:16.:44:20.

is screwing his face up like he has pulled it just a hair, but he is on

:44:21.:44:25.

the green. That's a good shot. Difficult putt but that's OK. That's

:44:26.:44:31.

for eagle. Danny Willett has to be smart here. Over to 16 and Justin

:44:32.:44:33.

Rose. Sweet strike. He's aiming a little

:44:34.:44:50.

bit right of the flag. That is turning but I don't think it has

:44:51.:44:57.

gone that close to the flag. Certainly got their money 's worth

:44:58.:44:58.

today at 16! The folks at the back of the

:44:59.:45:09.

clubhouse, getting their photos taken. There's how it all looks.

:45:10.:45:15.

Jordan Spieth has a commanding lead, if you can have a commanding lead

:45:16.:45:20.

into the back nine at Augusta. Dustin Johnson 1-under and a great

:45:21.:45:22.

swathe of players at even par. Now, Rory. He can see the flag on

:45:23.:45:35.

the right side of the green, just left of the TV tower. He will try

:45:36.:45:38.

and get a high cut in there. 5-iron miles in the air but still

:45:39.:45:44.

managed to skip forward. Now, the challenge is that he's

:45:45.:46:21.

going to have to chase it a little. They all release are and this is a

:46:22.:46:26.

big shot now. Spieth needs to get up and down for par. That's not going

:46:27.:46:36.

to get there. You could 3-putt from there! You can get a little frisky

:46:37.:46:39.

on there. Johnson should have learnt a bit

:46:40.:46:48.

from his playing partner. There's not much break in it. It's the

:46:49.:46:50.

flattest green on the course. Second shot of Paul Casey. Paul is

:46:51.:47:13.

just over that big marker on ten, four in from the left. That's a real

:47:14.:47:22.

beauty. And there is another sign of things to come. The leaders get here

:47:23.:47:27.

in an hour or so. Bernhard Langer. He has played it

:47:28.:47:48.

pretty darn well. That is an excellent, excellent effort. Four

:47:49.:48:01.

birdies, no bogeys for Bernhard. Paul Casey, at the 18th. Wonderful,

:48:02.:48:09.

wonderful effort from Paul Casey. Out in 34. Back in 33. 1-under par

:48:10.:48:17.

and currently in third spot. Terrific. Well, you need to be

:48:18.:48:26.

sensible here, try to get the speed right. Very tough the judge, almost

:48:27.:48:30.

impossible to leave short once it gets the speed going. Downhill. If

:48:31.:48:43.

this goes in... Settle. Well, a little bit left. Not bad, though.

:48:44.:48:45.

Sweaty palmed time. He looks very comfortable to me

:48:46.:48:59.

right now. He is far enough out in front that he can post a score and

:49:00.:49:04.

put it all on Spieth. Spieth looks to be in total control, although

:49:05.:49:12.

this putt for par. He can't, can he? If he takes a dart at it he could

:49:13.:49:17.

knock it a yard by. His parting has been just...

:49:18.:49:21.

Well. That five shot lead could be cut to three here.

:49:22.:49:44.

A bit of movement from his left foot Justin Rose at the 16th. Yes.

:49:45.:49:55.

He's closing out the tournament in fine style, Justin Rose. Westwood

:49:56.:50:08.

for eagle, and this would go a long way towards his chances, with Spieth

:50:09.:50:13.

making bogey. He would get within four shots. Go on, keep turning.

:50:14.:50:26.

Doesn't quite turn as much as you think, coming down the slope. But a

:50:27.:50:29.

nice silky touch. Anywhere but short, here. Kjeldsen's

:50:30.:50:50.

second, at 14. Oh yes. That just doesn't seem right!

:50:51.:51:05.

Danny Willett has to make the most of the two par-5s, the 13th and the

:51:06.:51:16.

15th. This is for his birdie at the 13th. Just aiming a little bit right

:51:17.:51:21.

of centre. Lovely rhythm to his stroke. The arms and the putter

:51:22.:51:23.

shaft work as a unit. Sweetly done. Take a little bit of a chance with

:51:24.:51:33.

his second shot and reaps the benefits.

:51:34.:51:44.

Well, five shots down to three now, assuming he can make this. Ooh! He's

:51:45.:51:56.

got it. He pulled it a little bit. Jordan Spieth, a bogey at ten to

:51:57.:52:01.

start the final nine here at the Masters.

:52:02.:52:04.

STUDIO Not far behind, Paul Casey. He

:52:05.:52:08.

betters his opening round of 69 with a 67, the second round of 67 from an

:52:09.:52:14.

Englishman we have seen today, very encouraging indeed. Paul now with

:52:15.:52:19.

Rishi. Paul, wonderful round of golf today.

:52:20.:52:26.

How much of that was down to the conditions and how much was you? It

:52:27.:52:30.

was all me! CHUCKLES

:52:31.:52:36.

It is all still very difficult out there. The last three days have been

:52:37.:52:44.

absolutely brutal. We've seen quite a view tough pin positions. I was

:52:45.:52:48.

hearing some roars from the crowd, I'm issuing that have been some

:52:49.:52:52.

holes in one. 16 has been popular. You tied sixth last year and your

:52:53.:52:59.

top ten again this year. Was it a case of absence makes the heart grow

:53:00.:53:04.

fonder? It certainly does. It's a place I fell in love with on TV

:53:05.:53:08.

before I even stepped foot on the grounds here. My first Masters in

:53:09.:53:13.

2004, I was paired in the final group with Langer and I had a great

:53:14.:53:17.

view of what the Chris Hill and Ernie were doing behind us. -- what

:53:18.:53:25.

Phil and Ernie were doing behind us. Great place, I absolutely loved it.

:53:26.:53:29.

This was very much a case of, I would love to win a green jacket,

:53:30.:53:33.

and I take this year very seriously. Just an indication of how this

:53:34.:53:36.

tournament might finish, with the way Jordan is playing out in front.

:53:37.:53:40.

How difficult will it be for him coming home? I think we know it,

:53:41.:53:44.

don't we? You looks like he's cruising! He's got the perfect game

:53:45.:53:51.

for this place. The parting stroke -- the putting stroke is incredible.

:53:52.:53:55.

Danny is putting in a rate charge right now. There are certainly some

:53:56.:54:01.

opportunities, as Danny moves to 14, three in a row there, 14, 15, 16.

:54:02.:54:06.

You never know. We saw what Jordan did on the final hole yesterday.

:54:07.:54:10.

Paul Casey summed it up, the first three days were brutal. Although the

:54:11.:54:17.

holes are still a bit more generous today, they are still very

:54:18.:54:19.

difficult. A lot can happen. Oh! He's still fighting that shot to

:54:20.:54:31.

the right. He will still have a swing, though, it appears. He is

:54:32.:54:40.

just struggling with that driver a little, isn't he? Generally they

:54:41.:54:44.

have gone to the right, as we join Danny Willett on the 14th tea. Only

:54:45.:54:49.

the 12 major Championship he has played in but he looks like a

:54:50.:54:52.

veteran, the way he's playing. Very comfortable.

:54:53.:54:58.

McIlroy at 15, a little eagle chip. Just didn't hold. Will it? Ooh.

:54:59.:55:18.

Ken, this putt always brakes hard left than you would think. It has

:55:19.:55:32.

caught him as well. The green is looking rather parched and dry and

:55:33.:55:38.

shiny. McIlroy did make his birdie. He is on the 16th. 181 yards. Three

:55:39.:55:52.

holes in one on it today. Davis Love III commission aimed Larry and Louis

:55:53.:55:59.

Oosthuizen have all made a hole-in-one. Barely a ripple on the

:56:00.:56:02.

pond today. The wind has just died off.

:56:03.:56:15.

Oh! Little too hi trajectory. It just needed a little skid. Glorious

:56:16.:56:33.

strike. A joy to watch. Now Jason Day looks like he's going

:56:34.:56:59.

to take a crack at it. Only 193 yards, after a good tee shot here.

:57:00.:57:07.

Ooh. Where is that going? It's over... That is tough! You said that

:57:08.:57:18.

with meaning, Paul. That is really a hard shot! He's asking it to go. It

:57:19.:57:31.

does and it lands softly as well. This fellow is bound to win a major

:57:32.:57:34.

Championship. Just got too much game. If he can just dig deep and

:57:35.:57:42.

make one of those mid range putts, Dustin Johnson could put a real

:57:43.:57:43.

scare onto the leader. Can just about get the range to the

:57:44.:58:02.

green, but not easy to that' flag. Not the greatest lie for Lee

:58:03.:58:05.

Westwood. Kick right. Kick right! That's it,

:58:06.:58:17.

that's it. Oh my goodness. That is in position ZZ minus.

:58:18.:58:28.

Well now. Jordan. Forced to chip out here at the 11th and all of a

:58:29.:58:39.

sudden, a bogey on ten and in trouble on 11th.

:58:40.:58:48.

Got to hit sort of the left edge of the TV tower, if he can. It is going

:58:49.:59:00.

to skid a little. He's got that look in his eye, Ken!

:59:01.:59:05.

The English are doing well today, no doubt about it. He's got to try and

:59:06.:59:12.

play some kind of a little trick shot here. A little floppy... He's

:59:13.:59:19.

making it look easy. Gathering pace, settle. That's the best you can hope

:59:20.:59:28.

for, I feel. Been working so hard on his short game in the off-season,

:59:29.:59:30.

his chipping and his putting. Dustin Johnson, you're right, Ken.

:59:31.:59:47.

You feel like Dustin will have Majors in his future, but he's got

:59:48.:59:54.

to hole some critical putts. He's got one coming up. Justin Rose,

:59:55.:00:02.

second shot, critical, at 17. A little double-cross, there. You

:00:03.:00:07.

could hear him groaning as soon as he hit it! What a putt that will be.

:00:08.:00:17.

The patrons are going quiet. But they are ready to cheer.

:00:18.:00:46.

There are moments in a golf tournament like this that are

:00:47.:00:51.

critical moments, and once you look back on. He's got to be brave.

:00:52.:00:57.

Whatever you do, don't leave this short, give it a go. Oh my goodness,

:00:58.:01:06.

he has left it short. A good start to his back nine but

:01:07.:01:29.

that was a massive opportunity. He's put Spieth in trouble. He doesn't

:01:30.:01:30.

know that. Middle of the green. I don't think

:01:31.:02:10.

so. Right at it. Wow! He's hanging in there, he's hanging in there.

:02:11.:02:15.

Andrew Cotter back in the box. A good run of English people doing

:02:16.:02:19.

well. Certainly are, five of the top eight at the moment. Lee Westwood.

:02:20.:02:30.

This is so, so difficult. Through the Kolarov there. You can hear the

:02:31.:02:39.

roar coming from the 11. -- through the collar. A glorious touch from

:02:40.:02:46.

Lee Westwood. Just about as good as it gets. McIlroy blasted his birdie

:02:47.:02:51.

effort. A big moment for Danny Willett.

:02:52.:03:09.

Playing alongside Westwood. He'll settle himself again. He doesn't

:03:10.:03:16.

know what else is going on. At the moment, to get within two of Spieth.

:03:17.:03:27.

He's doing all he can, Danny Willett, pushing Spieth hardest of

:03:28.:03:34.

all. The other players in the field move 4-under with back-to-back

:03:35.:03:48.

birdies. Two behind. What an effort. Back to 16, the trials of Rory

:03:49.:03:53.

McIlroy. He started ten feet away for birdie, now he has ten feet for

:03:54.:04:02.

bogey. The disappointing week. Just a few too many miscues.

:04:03.:04:14.

Kjeldsen, his third to the 15th. It's hard when you lay up here, you

:04:15.:04:22.

invariably get a slightly hanging like a bit of a downslope. Should be

:04:23.:04:28.

hard, but Kjeldsen is a wonderful wedge player as well. That is to go

:04:29.:04:30.

2-under. Jason Day for birdie. All the way across the 17th, Justin

:04:31.:04:52.

Rose. He'll get to the edge of the slope.

:04:53.:05:10.

So difficult. Rose in bother at the penultimate hole.

:05:11.:05:17.

If he holes for birdie, a chance to tie with Paul Casey as clubhouse

:05:18.:05:23.

leader. He's got it, finishing 1-under par. Four way tie for fourth

:05:24.:05:32.

at the moment. Once more to the well he goes. With this magical stick.

:05:33.:05:40.

Tendency is to think this putt will move to the right. It's virtually

:05:41.:06:01.

dead straight up the hill. It actually went a little left, even.

:06:02.:06:11.

Goodness. That's the way he saw it. He slightly misread it. And Jordan

:06:12.:06:17.

Spieth has dropped shots on the 10th and 11th. He leads by one from

:06:18.:06:20.

anywhere Willett, who makes this walk to the 12th tee. All sorts of

:06:21.:06:26.

thoughts in his head. Justin Rose on 17. Just moments ago, Jordan Spieth

:06:27.:06:33.

was five ahead, standing on the 10th tee. That's going to be at least a

:06:34.:06:41.

3-putt for Justin Rose. Boy, how things change, Andrew. Five shots

:06:42.:06:49.

clear on ten. Now a 1-shot lead on the dangerous 12. Danny Willett

:06:50.:06:56.

stands on the tee at the reachable par-5 15th. It'll be very

:06:57.:07:03.

interesting to see as we watch this final pairing what's Danny Willett

:07:04.:07:09.

does on 15. He went for it in two. Left, left! The reason he's so

:07:10.:07:18.

exasperated, looks fine, but he's blocked out by the shadow casting

:07:19.:07:25.

trees. Cannot go for it in two. He'll have to pick a different way

:07:26.:07:29.

to skin this cat. Likely to lay up from their own unless he has a gap

:07:30.:07:33.

between those pine trees. This is probably the most dangerous shot in

:07:34.:07:34.

all of golf for a tournament leader. People mistakenly think about making

:07:35.:08:10.

a committed swing as swinging harder. But it is swinging with more

:08:11.:08:16.

certainty. He's aiming over the edge of the bunker here for protection.

:08:17.:08:18.

Just let it release. It's right. And that's water. And

:08:19.:08:32.

just like that five shots gone. Goodness. Total, total mis-hit

:08:33.:08:44.

there. As soon as he hit it, the crowd knew. This is the final round

:08:45.:08:51.

in 2014, his tee shot. Just posted a little bit, get up in the air a

:08:52.:08:56.

little bit. That was better than the shot he just hit, that was closer.

:08:57.:09:01.

He was a little afraid he might have too much club. Just wasn't as

:09:02.:09:08.

certain. Here it is again. He knew it right away. See the big swallow?

:09:09.:09:16.

The Adams Apple are and down. He really has to collect himself. The

:09:17.:09:21.

mental battle now becomes excruciating for Jordan Spieth. And

:09:22.:09:24.

the next shot is extremely difficult. He has a drop zone after

:09:25.:09:32.

the right, closer to the start of the 13th fairway. You can go as

:09:33.:09:37.

close as you want on that line you don't have to go to the drop zone.

:09:38.:09:42.

Warren Kelton on 15. There's a buzz around the course now. -- Soren

:09:43.:09:48.

Kjeldsen on 15. This breaks left, too. Goodness, opportunity lost.

:09:49.:10:04.

It so hard now for Spieth to make a bogey. As we go to Willett. He

:10:05.:10:13.

doesn't know where he sits in the tournament. Very few leaderboards

:10:14.:10:16.

out there. They are huge. There is one behind to the right of this

:10:17.:10:21.

green. He's got a little gap there, but he's surely... Finding the

:10:22.:10:25.

perfect yardage, down to the left so you are coming towards that pin. He

:10:26.:10:37.

gets to watch Westwood play first. And they are not so far away from

:10:38.:10:41.

the 12th tee they wouldn't have heard the murmuring.

:10:42.:10:48.

Suddenly, Westwood is alive in this event. You've been in the situation

:10:49.:10:57.

when you are out there, the big red number will go up on the board and

:10:58.:11:02.

the crowd will gasp. Willett, to be sensible.

:11:03.:11:12.

Down the left side as well. There is a flat spots down there. That is

:11:13.:11:21.

fairly famous to the players, very well-known. That you look for. It's

:11:22.:11:27.

a better angle as well. To the hole cut in the back right portion of the

:11:28.:11:33.

green. There's the murmur you are talking about, the school going up

:11:34.:11:38.

on the board. Going up all around the course, little explosions of

:11:39.:11:42.

noise. And Dustin Johnson has every chance now. 171 to the 14th. Comes

:11:43.:12:00.

round. No. He's painful, he knows it, just a foot or so it lacked.

:12:01.:12:07.

This is McIlroy while ago, for his par 16. Have a look at this. He's

:12:08.:12:15.

gone after the putt and being a fraction over. When you are hitting

:12:16.:12:19.

firmly and trying to hole with good pace and you are a fraction out, it

:12:20.:12:25.

really cost you. Justin Rose second shot at 18.

:12:26.:12:36.

He's hoisted it high in the air. It's gone.

:12:37.:12:52.

I don't know about you, but my palms are starting to sweat. This has got

:12:53.:13:01.

quite tight and this is easily the most difficult shot in golf. After

:13:02.:13:09.

you've dumped it in water with the lead. Finessed wedge. Long is no

:13:10.:13:19.

good, short is no good. Oh my word, he's chunked it and Jordan Spieth is

:13:20.:13:24.

sinking without trace in the Masters, this is extraordinary. From

:13:25.:13:27.

a player who has been so composed, so in control, two in the water and

:13:28.:13:35.

now what is going through his mind? He's tumbling down this leaderboard.

:13:36.:13:39.

It's heartbreaking to watch this, to see anybody going through this.

:13:40.:13:43.

Danny Willett doesn't realise it, but he is in the leading seat.

:13:44.:14:07.

Ball giving more of a forward skip than players have expected before.

:14:08.:14:13.

Another big hop. A good shot, though. How excited they'll be at

:14:14.:14:19.

Rotherham golf cord. Just the other side of the M1, I called it

:14:20.:14:24.

Sheffield. -- golf course. They'll be sitting there watching Danny

:14:25.:14:27.

Willett, who will shortly lead the Masters. Another attempt now for

:14:28.:14:36.

Jordan Spieth. Shot number five. It's gone long. What is happening?

:14:37.:14:42.

What's going on? Where does Jordan Spieth... ? This is an unravelling

:14:43.:14:52.

of the master. This is his key shot. Can't feel great about his setup, to

:14:53.:15:08.

aim that far right and hit that far right when he is trying to go over

:15:09.:15:12.

the bunker with nothing more than an eight or 9-iron. That is a full

:15:13.:15:25.

on... And then from there, here is his heavy one. Goodness me.

:15:26.:15:37.

A couple of holes ago people were writing off this Masters, saying

:15:38.:15:46.

it's a Spieth procession. He was 4-5 shots clear. Bogeys on ten, 11...

:15:47.:15:53.

And he's play five here at the par 312. It's claimed victims over the

:15:54.:15:57.

years, 12, but Jordan Spieth, nobody saw this coming.

:15:58.:16:15.

A good shot there, something at least. For the first time all week,

:16:16.:16:26.

Jordan Spieth has given up the lead. Lee Westwood, this is for evil

:16:27.:16:31.

across the green. What if this went in? And it has gone in! Oh my

:16:32.:16:39.

goodness. Just like that, Westwood one back. One back of his playing

:16:40.:16:46.

partner, Danny Willett, who now leads the Masters. Wow! The magic of

:16:47.:17:02.

the Masters. Who said it was gone? At the 18th. Justin Rose. Fiddly

:17:03.:17:08.

one. I think it's a very good thing Danny

:17:09.:17:22.

Willett doesn't know what's happening on the 12th yet. This, for

:17:23.:17:26.

birdie. And that two shot lead. No, no... Not making any ground on

:17:27.:17:51.

Jordan Spieth. Everyone around this arena, there is a huge leaderboard

:17:52.:17:54.

beside 15, they will shortly see the numbers change once Jordan Spieth

:17:55.:17:56.

has tapped this in. This for seven. Extraordinary, seven on the 12th,

:17:57.:18:14.

far from done yet, but Jordan Spieth back 1-under par and now he is

:18:15.:18:20.

chasing. Danny Willett 's lead the Masters by two.

:18:21.:18:27.

How will Danny Willett react when he sees he is leading by two? How will

:18:28.:18:49.

Dustin Johnson react? What will Westwood do? Westwood only 1-under

:18:50.:18:56.

par. Still 3-under, the board was wrong. Get getting down in two from

:18:57.:19:09.

here is extraordinary. Wow. Danny Willett leads by one from Lee

:19:10.:19:13.

Westwood. On the final day of the Masters. It's on the 16th tee and

:19:14.:19:22.

green spectators gather, there is a big leaderboard, they were all see

:19:23.:19:25.

Jordan Spieth's name tumbling down in a moment. Dustin Johnson, bit of

:19:26.:19:27.

right-to-left. Players, when you think they are

:19:28.:20:01.

having to chase, might give it a little bit more. They don't really

:20:02.:20:06.

need to chase Spieth. He's down with them. Good putt by Dustin Johnson,

:20:07.:20:10.

he's still right there. For par. Two in a row. He'll be

:20:11.:20:34.

kicking himself tonight. Just a few minutes, when he sees what's

:20:35.:20:40.

happened to Jordan. Driver for Spieth.

:20:41.:21:04.

A great drive now. So, he'll be chasing par-5 on the back nine he'll

:21:05.:21:16.

go for it, no doubt about that. A brave tee shot. OK, now we get to

:21:17.:21:25.

hear how Westwood will react. Surely he knows by now. Poorer shot. After

:21:26.:21:35.

his birdie at nine he played temporary, missing way left.

:21:36.:21:44.

Certainly feeling it. Dustin Johnson ready to unleash on the par-5.

:21:45.:21:53.

Goodness me. Don't hold back. That's left as well, he's going to be

:21:54.:21:59.

forced to lay up from there. Boy, things can turn quickly here at

:22:00.:22:03.

Augusta National, at nobody expected to see Jordan Spieth go belly up

:22:04.:22:08.

like that on 12. And it's this group now, in charge. These two in

:22:09.:22:17.

Richmond. Danny Willett. -- these two Englishmen in charge. Let's have

:22:18.:22:29.

a listen. This is all new for him, I'm sure he's never experienced what

:22:30.:22:36.

he is feeling right now. Take a deep breath.

:22:37.:22:57.

Swinging a big 8-iron from right-to-left got 181 yards, a

:22:58.:23:05.

massive shot, fantastic result. All of the sudden, Danny Willett in

:23:06.:23:10.

control of his own fate may be, here. If he knows where he stands in

:23:11.:23:16.

the Masters now, he's handling it superbly.

:23:17.:23:21.

We'll go back to the 18th and Justin Rose. Costly, that bogey for him on

:23:22.:23:36.

17. And now on 18. So he'll slip just outside the top ten.

:23:37.:23:43.

A round of 70. And a good run on both nines, three birdies to the end

:23:44.:23:50.

of the first nine, three in the middle of the second. Couple of

:23:51.:23:55.

fives to finish. That was the undoing of what was shaping up as a

:23:56.:24:00.

beautiful round. 2-under par today for Justin Rose. What over and I'm

:24:01.:24:04.

sure he'll be fascinated. The man who came tied second last year to

:24:05.:24:09.

see how his compatriots are faring. Let's hear from Justin.

:24:10.:24:12.

Funny day, after the fifth you played some wonderful golf. I'm

:24:13.:24:18.

getting the sense you are a bit frustrated by the finish. Of course,

:24:19.:24:22.

I mean, under par for the tournament. Drove it perfectly down

:24:23.:24:30.

17, 18 is a birdie hole, too, with the pin. You could finish 3-under,

:24:31.:24:38.

not 1-over. At that stage there is a big difference, could have posted

:24:39.:24:40.

something in the clubhouse, but I didn't realise Jordan made... I

:24:41.:24:46.

didn't think I was in that on that to win it, at that point you try to

:24:47.:24:50.

have a strong finish. Fought hard to the middle of my round, but it

:24:51.:24:54.

together and really enjoyed it. Sunday at Augusta is a fun day to

:24:55.:24:58.

play golf. Quick question about what's happening with your

:24:59.:25:01.

compatriots, Danny and Lee Westwood at the top of the leaderboard now.

:25:02.:25:06.

It's news to me, just got into the clubhouse and Lee chipped in for

:25:07.:25:10.

eagle and Danny hit a great shot into 16. They are flying the flag

:25:11.:25:13.

unbelievably well and westward looking for that elusive major. --

:25:14.:25:19.

Westwood. Thanks so much for stopping by. COMMENTATOR: 20 years

:25:20.:25:26.

after Nick Faldo won and English flags all over the leaderboard.

:25:27.:25:36.

Matsuyama after this one. He's not out of it. Level par at the moment.

:25:37.:25:47.

Naz he's driven it down the left side into 15. What's he doing here?

:25:48.:25:57.

Is he going for that? No way. Wave! I've never seen anything like that

:25:58.:26:05.

from there. Dustin Johnson's going after it. He's made the decision, he

:26:06.:26:12.

knows where he is, clearly, and he's gone for it. It's one of the shots

:26:13.:26:17.

of the tournament. Outstanding from Dustin Johnson. He can hit the

:26:18.:26:21.

shots, remember on 18 at Chambers Bay, the beautiful drive at second,

:26:22.:26:27.

it all went undone for him on the green. Westwood now to tie the lead.

:26:28.:26:33.

He's hit it... One of those. You can hear the travelling

:26:34.:26:46.

supporters now. OK. Oh no, it's gone. OK... It's not

:26:47.:27:11.

overly difficult, extremely fast, has to be judged perfectly. Deep

:27:12.:27:24.

breath, Jordan. Almost a Norman -esque collapse. Three shots behind

:27:25.:27:32.

walking down the 13th fairway. Unbelievable. I hope he gathers

:27:33.:27:40.

himself from here and managers to pull out something extraordinary.

:27:41.:27:43.

Danny Willett is the lead at the moment. What a tee shot he has hit

:27:44.:27:47.

on 16, a chance to move to 5-under par. One of only two bogey free

:27:48.:27:56.

players today, Paul Casey in his round of 67. You can hear the boys

:27:57.:28:02.

-- hear the noise is bouncing around the pines. This is to extend his

:28:03.:28:05.

lead. And it goes! Another one for

:28:06.:28:23.

Willett, he leads by two, two holes from home. Is the green jacket to be

:28:24.:28:29.

his? What around he's putting together, what a story we have here.

:28:30.:28:37.

Danny Willett so close now. The biggest putt of his young life. Soon

:28:38.:28:44.

the biggest tee shot. And a birdie four McIlroy to close. -- birdie

:28:45.:28:58.

four McIlroy. Many thought it would be Rory's weeks, but could it be

:28:59.:29:04.

Danny Willett's week. 5-under par, what an extraordinary turnaround.

:29:05.:29:09.

From Amen Corner and beyond. Lee Westwood with the chip at 15. Within

:29:10.:29:14.

two shots of his compatriot Dustin Johnson who is making a move at 15.

:29:15.:29:19.

And Paul Casey up there. Extraordinary day for the English 20

:29:20.:29:22.

years after Sir Nick Faldo's third green jacket. Will we bridge the gap

:29:23.:29:25.

at last? Danny Willett has looks so composed

:29:26.:29:58.

and in complete command of himself all day. This was his first birdie

:29:59.:30:02.

at six. To go three behind Jordan Spieth at that point. Another birdie

:30:03.:30:09.

at the 8th. And then we were into the back nine. And he really started

:30:10.:30:14.

to make his move. This was at the 13th. He pops that one in. And he

:30:15.:30:21.

was motoring. What a shot this one is that the 14th.

:30:22.:30:29.

A beautiful iron, this one. And a very big moment. That was to what,

:30:30.:30:36.

three and a half feet? Birdie putt to come.

:30:37.:30:50.

And now the 16th, with the tumultuous events at 12 featuring

:30:51.:30:57.

Jordan Speith. He knew he had the lead and he was very much up to the

:30:58.:31:02.

task here. And absolutely beautifully struck iron. He would

:31:03.:31:10.

slot that one and it is now Danny Willett with a three shot lead over

:31:11.:31:19.

his compatriot, Lee Westwood. Rather golf club and everyone around rather

:31:20.:31:23.

and Sheffield area is getting very excited, I'm sure.

:31:24.:31:35.

Spieth, got to come down the slope. This is good. This will go on. He

:31:36.:31:47.

has that for a birdie. That to get back to 2-under. He is suddenly four

:31:48.:31:54.

shots adrift of Danny Willett now. Extraordinary turnaround. Well,

:31:55.:32:05.

let's just watch this one. Matsuyama for a birdie at the 14th. And

:32:06.:32:10.

he's... No, he's missed it. It's been very difficult and in a way an

:32:11.:32:14.

eventful up until about two and a half hours ago, and now it's been

:32:15.:32:17.

worth the price of admission all the way through. Johnson here at the

:32:18.:32:23.

15th. If this one Rakels in... It will just add a bit more flavour to

:32:24.:32:34.

the pot. Well, I don't know, would you believe it? He might be the main

:32:35.:32:39.

threat to Danny Willett now, Dustin Johnson. There have been some great

:32:40.:32:45.

disasters at that 12th hole. I think Tom Wise craft got a nine or an 11

:32:46.:32:49.

or something ridiculous, when he should have won this. -- Wisecroft.

:32:50.:32:59.

It went through the trees down this 15th. An amazing shot. Now he's two

:33:00.:33:07.

behind Danny Willett. Spieth to set himself on the right course again.

:33:08.:33:19.

It still doesn't fail him. The putter never betrays him. Jordan

:33:20.:33:25.

Spieth back to two under. The 15th still to come.

:33:26.:33:29.

Great test of character and skill and nerve now for the young fellow.

:33:30.:33:39.

Extraordinary. Now here is Willett. Great test for him also, the final

:33:40.:33:48.

two holes. He is smoking it. He is hitting the ball so well. He looks

:33:49.:33:53.

entirely composed. That might be a little bit awkward, just up against

:33:54.:34:01.

the collar of the first cut. He had a very good finish in the WGC HSBC

:34:02.:34:09.

in China. He finished well in Doral. In a way he has been serving his

:34:10.:34:14.

apprenticeship. Rory McIlroy, a view birdies out there today but not to

:34:15.:34:15.

be. If we could ask you to sum up what

:34:16.:34:22.

looks like a tough week for you? Yes, tough weekend at least. I mean,

:34:23.:34:30.

looking back on this week, we had a brief moment to reflect on it and

:34:31.:34:36.

probably yesterday I just didn't get anything going and probably went out

:34:37.:34:41.

there a little bit too tentatively and not playing my game, which in

:34:42.:34:48.

the end cost me. I was a little bit too far back. Today as well, I

:34:49.:34:52.

should have been aggressive and I was hanging onto my shots a bit and

:34:53.:34:56.

not letting it go and I missed a view right early on and made a view

:34:57.:35:00.

birdies. But I battled back well and shot under par in the end. Another

:35:01.:35:05.

disappointing week here and that continues, I guess. Hopefully it

:35:06.:35:09.

won't be long, thank you for stopping by. Thank you.

:35:10.:35:14.

Yes, the Grand Slam is on hold for another 12 months at least for Rory.

:35:15.:35:21.

I'm sure he will be fascinated to see how his friends and colleagues

:35:22.:35:25.

are going to do here. Can Danny Willett hold on? You certainly looks

:35:26.:35:30.

very much in control of himself. Dustin Johnson two shots behind. Lee

:35:31.:35:36.

Westwood, his playing partner, two under. Jordan Spieth, such is the

:35:37.:35:40.

measure of the man, he birdies the very next hole, of course. And now

:35:41.:35:52.

he is within three once again. PETER ALLISS: well, what excitement.

:35:53.:35:58.

Spieth has now got to hold itself together. Can he finish under par

:35:59.:36:05.

from here? He may have lost this ball in the trees. It clatters

:36:06.:36:10.

about. I don't know where it went. I think it went backwards a bit, not

:36:11.:36:22.

sure. It is an awkward one here, right on the edge of the cuts,

:36:23.:36:32.

Andrew. Two fours and he could be the owner of a green jacket.

:36:33.:36:38.

Comfortably. Middle of the Law on. Nothing fancy. If you can do it...

:36:39.:36:43.

Two Brown and it's yours. -- two fours and

:36:44.:37:04.

it's yours. Maybe too far. Just gone over the back. Left him a tricky one

:37:05.:37:08.

across the slope and down the hill. Looks odds-on to be a five from

:37:09.:37:15.

there. ANDREW COTTER: she will surely know where he stands now. He

:37:16.:37:19.

was the last player to arrive. His wife Nicole gave birth to their son.

:37:20.:37:26.

He arrived early and was able to get out here and play. Lee Westwood,

:37:27.:37:32.

after that rather sorry bogey on the last. Can he find one here? Another

:37:33.:37:41.

wide one, where Justin Rose was. That was a sad 3-putt from Westwood.

:37:42.:37:47.

Looks as if he may well be in the frame again but not the winner.

:37:48.:37:58.

Johnson now, at the 16th. Is he going straight at it or right? Hop

:37:59.:38:09.

up, hop up! Not quite. It will fall back. Still makeable.

:38:10.:38:22.

This was McIlroy, how he finished. All the putting troubles he has had

:38:23.:38:33.

all week, rather a cruel irony he knocks in the last. It wasn't just

:38:34.:38:37.

his putting, he was a bit wayward as well from tee to green. Plenty of

:38:38.:38:41.

birdies out there but far too many mistakes as well. Six bogeys, seven

:38:42.:38:49.

birdies and 1-under par. I mean, well, he can do a lot better. We

:38:50.:38:54.

expect a lot better than that. Spieth has been a lot better, he

:38:55.:38:58.

clattered into the trees and it does come out here.

:38:59.:39:07.

That is the television studio behind this green. He will be aiming sort

:39:08.:39:23.

of at that, at worst. You got a line on that flag? Yeah, it's anywhere

:39:24.:39:31.

from... The tower is over. Come on, good tempo.

:39:32.:39:35.

Can he pull himself together and finish with one birdie and the rest

:39:36.:39:43.

pars over these closing holes? Go. Go hard! Go! Urging it on. He

:39:44.:40:09.

needs it to come round now. It just took a little hop left. A bit

:40:10.:40:15.

unlucky there. A bit more pace on that and it could have ended up down

:40:16.:40:20.

by the flag. Now here is Willett. Let's have a look at this one. There

:40:21.:40:24.

you see it looks fairly innocuous but there is a big slope all the

:40:25.:40:34.

way, left to right, down the hill. All those hours of chipping in

:40:35.:40:41.

practice. It looks a good speed. That looks a very good speed. That

:40:42.:40:49.

is a magnificent shot. Great shots are not always the big bashes. That

:40:50.:40:55.

was delicate, nerveless. Control his imagination. Wonderful shot. He just

:40:56.:41:03.

has a little tap in. A bit more than a little tap in, but not far. Kenny

:41:04.:41:11.

Perry was there in 2009, two clear with two to play and made a bit of a

:41:12.:41:16.

hash of it. That is why they always talk about the last nine holes on

:41:17.:41:20.

Sunday, not just here but every tournament, that is where the nerves

:41:21.:41:25.

get jangling and mistakes are made. He looks calm. His caddy has gone a

:41:26.:41:31.

pale shade! But he looks calm. There is $1.8 million on the line and if

:41:32.:41:36.

they work on 10%, that's not too bad is it? 180,000 or whatever it is

:41:37.:41:42.

coming up. Now, Westwood. Playing alongside Willett. Really needs to

:41:43.:41:45.

hole this. Now, Dustin Johnson, a big moment

:41:46.:42:28.

for him, to move within one. Get in! No, not close. Willett fans breathe

:42:29.:42:34.

slightly more easily. We take so much for granted now,

:42:35.:42:55.

don't we? This magnificent setup here and all the prize-money. The

:42:56.:43:01.

early days of Arnold Palmer, he was one of the ones that got it all

:43:02.:43:12.

going really. Lee Westwood now for a par. Well done, Lee. Well done, well

:43:13.:43:25.

done, well done. Thank the good Lord for Arnold Palmer. He was the

:43:26.:43:30.

creator of the modern game, in terms... Well, he was there, he was

:43:31.:43:40.

the exciting figure of the day. Without the sponsors and without

:43:41.:43:43.

players like him, the growth of the game, they wouldn't have been making

:43:44.:43:48.

the money they are now. Danny Willett now, this is a little

:43:49.:43:52.

tester. It looks nothing, does it? Probably 30 odd inches. Ooh. One

:43:53.:44:05.

hole to go. One hole to go. Fewest attempts

:44:06.:44:21.

before a Masters win. Well, of course the men who won it -- the man

:44:22.:44:28.

who won it for the first time the crew victory it for the first time!

:44:29.:44:33.

Chubby Chandler, his manager, his glorious manager, will be waking, --

:44:34.:44:40.

will be waiting, big hanky in hand, is crying tears of joy. Dustin

:44:41.:44:48.

Johnson gets par, can he finished three, three? It's been done. For

:44:49.:44:52.

the first time this week, it's exciting. Nerve wracking. All down

:44:53.:44:56.

to this fellow. Well, it's downhill. And just the

:44:57.:45:09.

slightest touch. Needs something magical now, Spieth.

:45:10.:45:27.

Control alt delete, start again on the 15th, because that is where he

:45:28.:45:36.

needs something. Matsuyama for birdie.

:45:37.:45:39.

That was a poor putt. He is still in there, Matsuyama. Because things can

:45:40.:45:49.

happen. A deep breath for Danny Willett. He takes a deep breath. He

:45:50.:45:56.

hits the ball very hard. All he wants... " all he wants"...

:45:57.:46:04.

Now then, a fume or deep breaths and of we go. -- a few more deep

:46:05.:46:17.

breaths. Going through the whole routine. One

:46:18.:46:34.

good, clean, straight drive. He's done it, Ken, I think. He's...

:46:35.:47:17.

He's done is beautifully! He's taken a 3-wood and taken it down and

:47:18.:47:23.

squeezing it out so he can't reach that bunker.

:47:24.:47:27.

It was Spieth to was running away with this an hour and a half ago. He

:47:28.:47:33.

has this for his par at the 14th. Took seven at the short 12th hole.

:47:34.:47:49.

Twice in the water at the 12th. Seven.

:47:50.:47:58.

Johnson. Dustin Johnson at the 17th. Couple of shots behind. He cracks

:47:59.:48:26.

it. The still be in the centre. -- it looks to be in the centre. When

:48:27.:48:30.

he hits those, they stay hit, don't they? Oh yes!

:48:31.:48:36.

Danny Willett leads by two going up the 18th. He has got his tee shot in

:48:37.:48:40.

play. STUDIO

:48:41.:48:47.

Well, it's hard to take in some of the incredible events of the last

:48:48.:48:51.

couple of hours, because Jordan Spieth looked free and clear, didn't

:48:52.:48:56.

he? After those four birdies in succession, he was five shots ahead

:48:57.:49:00.

of a few of them on the 10th tee. And then three behind walking down

:49:01.:49:05.

the 13th fairway. It really is very difficult to process, I'm sure not

:49:06.:49:08.

least for us but for him. Paul Azinger is with me. Trying to make

:49:09.:49:13.

sense of this. It has been the undoing of many a Masters champion

:49:14.:49:20.

in the past, the Golden Bear at 12. It is scary when you have a 1-shot

:49:21.:49:24.

lead or a two shot lead and it proved to be the case today.

:49:25.:49:28.

Jordan's setup was a bit too weak to the right or something and he wasn't

:49:29.:49:33.

able to square the ball and carry it over the bunker. This one could have

:49:34.:49:38.

been anything a bad lie, his nerves... A whole bunch of things

:49:39.:49:41.

could have happened here and just like that it's all gone away for

:49:42.:49:47.

Jordan Spieth. It's heartbreaking, it's gut wrenching and sadly if he

:49:48.:49:50.

doesn't win, he will have to put the jacket on whoever does win this

:49:51.:49:54.

event. Right now Danny Willett is in the driving seat. On his way to a

:49:55.:49:59.

quadruple bogey seven and three of the lead, as he walked off this

:50:00.:50:06.

particular green. For a man who has had such a spell, such a hold on

:50:07.:50:11.

this course, the spell was finally broken. It's taken almost two years

:50:12.:50:15.

for this to happen! It's not over yet but this is the man firmly in

:50:16.:50:20.

command as he walks up the 18th fairway. Does he have a date with

:50:21.:50:24.

destiny today? Will that green jacket be slipping on those

:50:25.:50:28.

shoulders of 28-year-old Danny Willett? The 28-year-old could

:50:29.:50:35.

become the first Englishman in 20 years, the first British player for

:50:36.:50:40.

20 years and the first European to 17 years. It's been a very long wait

:50:41.:50:45.

for stop there is still some milage, as there always is, in these closing

:50:46.:50:50.

moments of the Masters. COMMENTATOR: A big, deep breath.

:50:51.:51:01.

Well, what a moment for this young man. This would be a tremendous

:51:02.:51:09.

victory. But before that, drive down the 15th. He has pulled it left, I

:51:10.:51:23.

think. His driving has been errant, hasn't it? He has hit pushes over

:51:24.:51:30.

the last few days and hooks. He hasn't

:51:31.:51:32.

He hasn't driven really well. Don't forget this fellow, Dustin Johnson.

:51:33.:51:45.

He doesn't shy away from anything. 157 left. Just four over the bunker!

:51:46.:51:50.

And he hasn't made it. They are making Danny Willett and his job a

:51:51.:51:57.

little bit easier every minute that expires. Remember Arnold Palmer won

:51:58.:52:05.

in a four way tie here. Also is of silly things can happen. Lee

:52:06.:52:09.

Westwood first, out of the trees, going to scuttle one up. -- all

:52:10.:52:20.

sorts of silly things can happen. Got a pretty straight shot between

:52:21.:52:26.

the bunkers, Ken, from here. Obviously can't go directly at the

:52:27.:52:33.

flag. He's really got to get it chasing behind the shaft.

:52:34.:52:43.

He hits them pretty solid from the pine needles, the pine straw. This

:52:44.:53:08.

is getting the distance correct. 75. You can do it. Johnson Smart, his

:53:09.:53:27.

caddy, known as Smartie. Not a bad player himself at all. What a moment

:53:28.:53:33.

for British golf, English golf, if he can do it. Good swing. I think it

:53:34.:53:44.

is straight enough. Yes, it is now! What a nice little bounce! Ooh yes!

:53:45.:53:54.

The golfing gods are smiling. Absolutely. He won't have seen that

:53:55.:53:57.

result. That is terrific, really terrific. Yes, if he had hit that

:53:58.:54:04.

four or five yards to the left it would have pitched on the upslope

:54:05.:54:09.

and probably not made the green. Lovely.

:54:10.:54:12.

What you're concerned about is your club hitting that. Yes, I'm

:54:13.:54:20.

concerned... So this still interferes.

:54:21.:54:25.

What a great fuss this is. As if it makes any difference, really. If you

:54:26.:54:34.

are within a foot. Well, I don't write the rules. Thank God, somebody

:54:35.:54:40.

said... A delicate one here, Peter. A little bit too close to the ball.

:54:41.:54:46.

I think that's probably curtains the Dustin Johnson.

:54:47.:54:49.

I want to make sure that I am taking a legal drop. OK. First off. So I

:54:50.:55:01.

want you to tell me... That is why rounds take five hours. What

:55:02.:55:05.

difference would it make if he dropped it six inches further...

:55:06.:55:13.

Well, in that case... Here he comes! They are all cheering. I wonder what

:55:14.:55:20.

he's thinking at this moment. Ken, the emotions must be racing now.

:55:21.:55:25.

There's nothing like it. Can you imagine a chance to win the green

:55:26.:55:34.

jacket and your dreams come true. It's not there yet but he is looking

:55:35.:55:39.

mighty strong. Sometimes something happens, you have a baby or

:55:40.:55:42.

something happens in your life and it just pulls the best out of you.

:55:43.:55:46.

Sometimes it frightens the life out of you! But it would be wonderful.

:55:47.:55:55.

It if he can do it. Just gently, two putts, and then see. Jordan is

:55:56.:56:01.

trying his luck for another drop here, because that was never in his

:56:02.:56:02.

way. This is a par-5 and he is there for

:56:03.:56:23.

two. Currently on -2, three behind. I'm sure thoughts are racing through

:56:24.:56:28.

his head and his imagination will be technical, 3-D, everything. He will

:56:29.:56:33.

be thinking also some things, as Westwood concentrates now. A little

:56:34.:56:38.

chip and a bit speedy. Not too speedy! Not one of his best. Looks

:56:39.:56:44.

as if he's going to be the bridesmaid once more.

:56:45.:57:06.

Well, the Willett team. Chubby Chandler, who started a business in

:57:07.:57:13.

management and has been very successful now, sold it, bought it

:57:14.:57:18.

back, sold it, bought it back. He has had some good runners over the

:57:19.:57:22.

years. Graeme McDowell, Rory McIlroy. Lee Westwood another one.

:57:23.:57:30.

This is the moment. He leads by two. If he nudges this one, I don't think

:57:31.:57:34.

anyone can catch him. You can never say never, but... I've seen this

:57:35.:57:44.

putt many times. It looks like it's going to swing quite a lot from

:57:45.:57:48.

right to left and it has a tendency to swing to the right. Is this the

:57:49.:57:55.

one that Mark O'Meara holed? It was a bit nearer to the tee but the same

:57:56.:58:00.

sort of angle, yes. Just a little bit of right-to-left, but I think

:58:01.:58:05.

two putts... Well, he would love to knock it in of course, but this is

:58:06.:58:11.

wonderful stuff. Lovely stuff for European golf, British golf,

:58:12.:58:14.

everybody. But particularly this young man.

:58:15.:58:26.

That looks not bad but he wishes it was six inches nearer!

:58:27.:58:35.

CHUCKLES Just going to walk here and have a

:58:36.:58:50.

talk to my caddy... Back to Spieth. He is a master wedge player. Don't

:58:51.:58:54.

count this fellow out. He's got a hell of a line. This will come

:58:55.:59:03.

seeking that cup out. A little unlucky. Sort of drawing at

:59:04.:59:27.

a straight bounce. Still a lovely shot, high-quality strike.

:59:28.:59:32.

Now, Westwood. For a par-4 at the final hole. Two under par.

:59:33.:59:42.

CHEERING Well done Lee Westwood. Finishing

:59:43.:59:49.

with a four. He finishes the tournament at two under. Not going

:59:50.:59:56.

to win it, but it has done him the power of good.

:59:57.:00:02.

Willett. 18 inches, maybe a bit less. Gently, gently. Well done. Now

:00:03.:00:14.

we just wait and see, we wait and see.

:00:15.:00:21.

A hug from smarty. A brilliant effort. Tingles down his spine.

:00:22.:00:37.

Generous applause from the American crowd. A lot of Europeans. A lot of

:00:38.:00:45.

European spectators here. What a treat they've had the last two or

:00:46.:00:50.

three hours. Before that it was hard work and misery for many, but today

:00:51.:00:55.

number 89 is top of the pile at the moment. Don't go to bed just yet,

:00:56.:01:02.

plenty more to see. Marvellous reception as well.

:01:03.:01:13.

Here is Chubster. He'll be modelling Toby jugs soon. And garden

:01:14.:01:22.

ornaments. Though they are not in fashion now. Great. Take your time,

:01:23.:01:26.

make sure the scorecard is correct. What a turnaround, Ken. You wouldn't

:01:27.:01:42.

have believed it. And hour and a half, two hours ago. All sorts of

:01:43.:01:48.

funny things can happen still. You never know. It's a remarkable

:01:49.:01:57.

achievement from Willett. Dustin Johnson at the 17th for his par. The

:01:58.:02:06.

most unlikely one to hole over the crest of the hill. He's holed

:02:07.:02:09.

absolutely nothing on this back nine. Nicely judged but very tricky,

:02:10.:02:18.

he'll have it for his birdie. He is 1-over par so he can't win.

:02:19.:02:42.

Isn't it amazing how this back nine always has touch brilliant drama.

:02:43.:02:54.

Sixes and sevens. Home in 30, 30 one. If he pops this in it'll get

:02:55.:03:00.

him a birdie. He needs to birdie the last two if he holes two of the last

:03:01.:03:15.

three. Anxious looking local crowd. If he misses this, he'll have to

:03:16.:03:21.

birdie the last three. He did it. Schwarzel. Remember Ed Sneed, he

:03:22.:03:28.

bogeyed the last three to lose by one. Just disturbed.

:03:29.:03:43.

No matter how long you take, you still got to stand over it and not

:03:44.:03:52.

kidding, not like tennis cricket where the ball comes at you and you

:03:53.:04:04.

swish at it. He's done it. Nerveless, that one, nerveless, well

:04:05.:04:15.

done. It can be very intimidating down here, but fortunately for Danny

:04:16.:04:20.

Willett, he's now marking his card. When you start hearing these cheers

:04:21.:04:25.

and you are an overseas player... They are fairly partisan crowd.

:04:26.:04:29.

Willett can do nothing about now, his day is done, unless, as a

:04:30.:04:35.

play-off. -- unless there's a play-off.

:04:36.:04:44.

The thing is not to get totally carried away. You never know, you

:04:45.:04:49.

never ever know. How nice. You still have to mark your card and

:04:50.:05:19.

get it right. Spieth has a chance. It's a big ask, isn't it? Exciting

:05:20.:05:28.

though, isn't it? Two birdies in the last three and it'll be a play-off.

:05:29.:05:33.

Three birdies to win. After seven at the short hole. Hole-in-one.

:05:34.:05:39.

Hole-in-ones, we've had two or three here today. The lady in pink has

:05:40.:05:44.

been jumping up and down like a yo-yo. I think she was there

:05:45.:05:47.

yesterday, she never leaves that seat. From one year to the next. If

:05:48.:05:53.

you been watching everyone knows what you've got to do, you got to

:05:54.:05:57.

get that ball coming in three or four yards right of the flag. About

:05:58.:06:02.

pin height pitching, drifts around, playing 181 yards. The least wind I

:06:03.:06:04.

think we've had all week. It's high, that, Peter. Tremendous

:06:05.:06:49.

shot. Yap at Aberdeen. It's coming back, Ken, getting nearer. --

:06:50.:06:58.

yabba-dabba-do. Fabulous shot, four at the last hole having been at an

:06:59.:07:04.

awkward spot from the tee. He's not given up.

:07:05.:07:18.

You get the impression he's quite enjoying it as well. The cut and

:07:19.:07:27.

thrust. I'm not sure about that. Willett checking over his scorecard

:07:28.:07:32.

in the recorder 's hut. They don't call them huts here, they are

:07:33.:07:36.

chalets. Well, well, well. Striding up there,

:07:37.:07:57.

thinking what might be or what might have been. Remember Roberto? Oh yes.

:07:58.:08:04.

Roberto diverge Enzo signed for the wrong card. He would have got into a

:08:05.:08:09.

play-off, you didn't even have a chance to win, he signed for the

:08:10.:08:14.

wrong school and was disqualified. It happened a couple of times in

:08:15.:08:27.

professional golf, women's golf. -- Roberto De Vicenzo.

:08:28.:08:28.

A beautifully put together round of golf. Nobody has played better than

:08:29.:08:36.

Danny Willett today. A mature man, Lee Westwood. Faithful caddy.

:08:37.:08:48.

All this just moments ago. Five birdies, no bogeys. Three birdies on

:08:49.:09:11.

the last six holes. It's certainly not over.

:09:12.:09:22.

Where ever you are watching at home, I hope you're enjoying. It certainly

:09:23.:09:29.

isn't over, we said that a few times.

:09:30.:09:33.

Strange things can happen, but the favourite has to be this man,

:09:34.:09:39.

Willett, now he's in. Spieth has to get three birdies to win, two

:09:40.:09:46.

birdies to force a play-off. Still anxious moments for the young fella.

:09:47.:10:01.

Smylie Kaufman has found a very awkward spot he is going to have to

:10:02.:10:08.

find the slope behind the flag at 16. Oh dear.

:10:09.:10:16.

Up to the 18th, Dustin Johnson's second shot. He was in with a chance

:10:17.:10:22.

but just fell. This is a crowd pleaser. Yes, it is.

:10:23.:10:46.

How did they do that? Too much spin on it. Almost like a trick shot.

:10:47.:11:03.

It's a bit like the Colosseum down here. The crowds just echo from this

:11:04.:11:12.

area at the 16th, fabulous atmosphere. It's more intimidating.

:11:13.:11:17.

Players are more sophisticated now than in my day but I came here and

:11:18.:11:23.

it totally intimidated me. After completing the 15th it seemed to be

:11:24.:11:27.

above you looking down, you feel like a little ant.

:11:28.:11:49.

Some anxious faces. They've got plenty to be anxious about if they

:11:50.:11:59.

are supporting their man. They've seen him have a golfing disaster at

:12:00.:12:05.

12, now he has a putt... Not all that long but it's one of those

:12:06.:12:09.

wiggly ones. You think it comes a lot from the left, but it's a funny

:12:10.:12:15.

line. It's a lot easier from 4-5 feet short than 4-5 feet past. So

:12:16.:12:20.

much depends on pace, quite a big swing and it'll drop in. He's only

:12:21.:12:25.

about nine feet most. Maybe eight feet. He's been the governor with

:12:26.:12:31.

the blade all week. There'll be a hell of a cheer if this goes in,

:12:32.:12:35.

I'll tell you that. Danny Willett back up at the clubhouse. You're

:12:36.:12:40.

right. This is a tricky one to pick the line, speed is so important down

:12:41.:12:45.

the left-hand side. A whisker too hard and it'll miss on the left.

:12:46.:12:57.

Yeah, that was a bit of a nervy one in all truth. Goodness gracious.

:12:58.:13:08.

Let's hear from the potential winner, Danny Willett. Walking off

:13:09.:13:12.

the 18th what was going through your mind? I honestly can't tell you.

:13:13.:13:18.

Happiness, exhilaration, everything. It was nice, obviously, to seek my

:13:19.:13:24.

father-in-law just off the green. Walking up there with everyone

:13:25.:13:27.

cheering your name, no better feeling. How difficult was it to

:13:28.:13:30.

control the emotions when you realised you were in the lead? Yeah,

:13:31.:13:34.

it's a tricky one, not like we slowly crept into the lead, we got

:13:35.:13:39.

to four, through 14, then parred 15. Then he chucked a number in at 12.

:13:40.:13:47.

Bit of a weird one. Normally you are toing and froing. He dropped four

:13:48.:13:52.

shots on one hole. You can't really understand it. Unless you are in

:13:53.:13:56.

that position. Luckily enough I was able to then keep my head on and

:13:57.:14:01.

keep focused and go ahead and make a great swing at 16. We're watching

:14:02.:14:07.

pictures on 16 as Jordan is about to putt for his par that he's made.

:14:08.:14:12.

What are you thinking right now? Is it possible to even contemplate you

:14:13.:14:15.

might be wearing the green jacket? No, there are still two holes left,

:14:16.:14:22.

the boy can do most things. We're going to have to wait. Hopefully,

:14:23.:14:26.

wait and see, see what we can do. Do you believe in fate considering

:14:27.:14:29.

recently there was talk you might not even be here. Then young

:14:30.:14:34.

Zachariah came at the right time. It's a strange one, my wife was born

:14:35.:14:39.

on this Day 28 years ago, the little man's due date was today. You never

:14:40.:14:43.

know. Keeping our fingers crossed for you. The good news for Danny

:14:44.:14:48.

Willett is there have only been two birdies on the 17th. There's been 14

:14:49.:14:52.

birdies on the 18th. He is unlikely to birdie them both,

:14:53.:14:56.

but you can never tell. Dustin. On the 18th for a birdie. He

:14:57.:15:24.

is... Oh. You have to say, in many ways, a good week. But disappointing

:15:25.:15:37.

for Dustin Johnson. In contrast, in 2015 there were 108 rounds under par

:15:38.:15:44.

for the tournament. This 139. From 108 to 39 under par. It's been a

:15:45.:15:49.

tough old week. We join the world number one Jason Day. The number

:15:50.:15:57.

will have been thinking, it could have been my week. Jason was

:15:58.:16:02.

certainly one of them. The conditions of the Green have been

:16:03.:16:05.

beautiful but they've been lightning fast. And the wind. And where the

:16:06.:16:11.

flags are positioned. If like asking someone to climb Everest in

:16:12.:16:19.

plimsolls with a packet of savages. -- sandwiches. Jason Day, 1-over,

:16:20.:16:29.

currently tied for 10th. Spieth, 17th tee. Not his favourite hole.

:16:30.:16:35.

It's looks a good one. -- it looks a good one. At last he

:16:36.:16:51.

found the fairway off the tee. He's been a bit crooked at times.

:16:52.:16:58.

You wouldn't rule anything past Jordan Spieth but let's just reflect

:16:59.:17:03.

on some of the brilliant Danny Willett has shown today and around

:17:04.:17:08.

67. Flawless, no bogeys at all. It all started with birdie at six, it

:17:09.:17:15.

took him 1-under for the day. Right from the start isn't there was an

:17:16.:17:18.

error of calm and composure about his round. Britton you sensed there

:17:19.:17:23.

was. He was comfortable with his position. He was trying to do the

:17:24.:17:29.

best he could do, really. I don't know if at any point on the first

:17:30.:17:32.

nine holes he thought he was going to win the golf tournament.

:17:33.:17:37.

Certainly, you was in a terrific position starting the second nine,

:17:38.:17:42.

then four birdies in a row created quite a gap there. This was at the

:17:43.:17:47.

14th, his second shot in there. He would putt this one and then,

:17:48.:17:52.

suddenly, all of it started to turn around because by the time he was

:17:53.:17:56.

getting to the 15th Jordan Spieth was at 12. It was going pear shaped

:17:57.:18:02.

for him. Meanwhile, Willett was grasping the metal in fantastic

:18:03.:18:09.

style. Beautiful tee shot. He would birdie this one. This was

:18:10.:18:13.

impressive, at this point he knew where he stood, as Lee Westwood did.

:18:14.:18:17.

Westwood hit a poor shot and three putted here. Similar to deterrent

:18:18.:18:23.

hole. Danny Willett knew where he stood and holed this putt with all

:18:24.:18:27.

the pressure on him. We discussed before the round started that if

:18:28.:18:32.

Jordan stumbled the players had to be ready. Danny Willett was very

:18:33.:18:39.

much ready. This was extraordinary difficult. Up the hill, backed down

:18:40.:18:46.

the hill. Towards Rae's Creek. Two bit it in there, it was quite an

:18:47.:18:52.

effort. Par there and two shot lead coming down the 18th. This is the

:18:53.:18:57.

second of the 18th. Again, if he was feeling nervous, it really hasn't

:18:58.:19:00.

shown at all. He's been completely in charge of himself. This shotgun

:19:01.:19:06.

he squished that, had a beautiful little draw on it, then got rewarded

:19:07.:19:11.

with a big kick to the left. Not the best putt from their but that's OK.

:19:12.:19:16.

As he tapped this one in and he still looks like he could be the

:19:17.:19:19.

winner. Jordan Spieth would have to have America finish. Who knew he was

:19:20.:19:25.

wearing a different shade of green under the white top, all day long,

:19:26.:19:30.

perhaps he knew something we didn't. I'm not jumping the gun here because

:19:31.:19:33.

Jordan Spieth can still make it difficult for Danny Willett. But

:19:34.:19:40.

it's been a wonderful display from Danny Willett. The world and 12,

:19:41.:19:45.

he's moved into the elite status, won his fourth European Tour event.

:19:46.:19:50.

That was three wins in 26 events. Just in February there. He has begun

:19:51.:20:00.

to creep up the world rankings. 89, he was the 89th and last player to

:20:01.:20:05.

register here this week at Augusta National. He's saving the best for

:20:06.:20:10.

last today. All he can do now is wait. That's the hardest part. The

:20:11.:20:17.

man he was playing with today, Lee Westwood, let's get his thoughts on

:20:18.:20:20.

what could be another near miss. What around he put together, too.

:20:21.:20:25.

Some wonderful moments today, we sort your reaction on 15 when you

:20:26.:20:30.

made eagle, what were you thinking at that moment? I don't often chip

:20:31.:20:34.

in, so it came as a surprise to me. A good place to chip in from. We won

:20:35.:20:39.

a bit of glass for an eagle, it was all positive. Windy day notice what

:20:40.:20:43.

was happening at the top of the leaderboard? I heard noise and

:20:44.:20:47.

figured there was something going on. When Jordan went from five to

:20:48.:20:52.

one. All of a sudden I was one behind Danny. Danny got the bit

:20:53.:20:55.

between his teeth. What was it like playing alongside him today? It was

:20:56.:21:00.

good, we played a lot together, he's a good player. He played really well

:21:01.:21:05.

today, quality shots, kept it under the hole, aggressive when he needed

:21:06.:21:10.

to be, made some nice putts. The sixth time you've finished inside

:21:11.:21:12.

the top ten in the Masters, how proud are you of your record? Very

:21:13.:21:17.

proud, it's a place I've always loved to come, I like being here

:21:18.:21:20.

even when the tournament isn't on. Even when I haven't got my A game, I

:21:21.:21:25.

feel I can get it around. I didn't have anything near my A game this

:21:26.:21:28.

week but there is a way of getting around Augusta and edging your way

:21:29.:21:32.

into the tournament. Conditions were right for me this week, with a bit

:21:33.:21:36.

of wind, it would stop anybody getting a long way away from me. I

:21:37.:21:40.

tried to play sensibly and take my chances when they presented

:21:41.:21:44.

themselves. Well done today. 11 times he's been in the top five of

:21:45.:21:48.

the major Championships and hasn't come up with the goodies so far.

:21:49.:21:54.

Spieth. 162 yards, swirling breeze. Has he got it? Not even close to

:21:55.:22:05.

getting there, bailed on it. He must be in the bunker, coming from that

:22:06.:22:08.

height with the breeze into it, it might plug.

:22:09.:22:14.

Matsuyama. Big tee shot. Watch how the ball takes off, go straight up

:22:15.:22:45.

in the air. It it on the slope behind the pin and it comes running

:22:46.:22:46.

back. Buhl he's played a few of those. He

:22:47.:23:12.

doubted and shoved it out to the right. He's a good player, not very

:23:13.:23:20.

old. Good potential. Yeah, he's a very talented player, strikes the

:23:21.:23:23.

ball beautifully. A little bit quicker today, I thought. Everyone

:23:24.:23:31.

got a bit edgy. Apart from this fella. Paul Casey played well. The

:23:32.:23:37.

whole European contingent played some very good golf. I wonder what

:23:38.:23:47.

sort of lie he has found. Can we see his ball here? We will be in a

:23:48.:23:52.

minute. It went in, it was very high. I don't think it's plugged.

:23:53.:23:57.

Doesn't look like a man with a plugged ball. No, there it is, lying

:23:58.:23:59.

nicely. It's midnight at home, don't wake

:24:00.:24:15.

granny, she'll be in bed now. Get her up! She'll want to know.

:24:16.:24:22.

Hello. Is it working? Danny... We've got a phone here.

:24:23.:24:42.

Smylie Kaufman always... If it gets away from you here, this course

:24:43.:24:49.

could make you look an absolute fool. He nearly played very well the

:24:50.:24:56.

first six holes, he was just a bit unlucky. This was a shot where

:24:57.:25:00.

normally... He's a little bit further back than I thought, but...

:25:01.:25:07.

We've seen these holed. Do you want me to call you not? It's going to

:25:08.:25:15.

come out a bit flat and a bit hot. The only way he will stop his

:25:16.:25:27.

clattering the flag. Tried to play it correctly. If it started way

:25:28.:25:32.

left... It's all right for distance. I think victory's getting closer

:25:33.:25:39.

every shot. There is the bride. Magic Lantern is now, aren't they?

:25:40.:25:45.

They really are. The things you can do with a phone. -- Magic Lanterns

:25:46.:25:54.

now. If he pops this one in, he has to hole his second shot at the last

:25:55.:25:59.

two tie. The odds are hugely in Danny's favour.

:26:00.:26:10.

They set the last pair of five minute earlier and they are still

:26:11.:26:15.

going to run over by a considerable amount. I really don't understand

:26:16.:26:21.

the club's philosophy in running the risk of overrunning or not being

:26:22.:26:25.

able to complete and having to come back tomorrow morning. Nobody wants

:26:26.:26:31.

that. But that's another story. Matsuyama, little chip from the side

:26:32.:26:33.

of the green. Steady. Don't think I've ever seen faster

:26:34.:26:46.

greens, Kent, have you? I was out there this morning, they are so

:26:47.:26:49.

fast, don't think I've ever seen them faster. They were quite firm

:26:50.:26:52.

early on. Normally they are a bit green and parched. We've had no wind

:26:53.:26:57.

so they are manageable, but they are tricky. We've got courses at home

:26:58.:27:02.

where we think the greens are fast, and indeed they are, but these, with

:27:03.:27:06.

the slope, the combination of the slope as well, and the size of the

:27:07.:27:10.

greens, makes them very, very difficult. Spieth. Can he hole this?

:27:11.:27:24.

If he doesn't, really, Danny is the champ. He's not going to make a

:27:25.:27:28.

hole-in-one. This is to keep him with any chance at all.

:27:29.:27:34.

Hi, Nicole! Come on. Spieth. What other nine holes for him. -- what a

:27:35.:27:53.

Knight holes. That's five. Good tee shot.

:27:54.:28:03.

There'll be some carousing tonight. Chubby. Fancy being hugged by

:28:04.:28:17.

Chubby, frightening thought, isn't it? He's a lovely fella, really.

:28:18.:28:23.

He's finally buttoned up the green jacket. $1.8 million and about $50

:28:24.:28:33.

million lurking, to be picked up, over the next 5-10 years. We are all

:28:34.:28:40.

right now, aren't we? Chubby has made a few quid. Caddy has made a

:28:41.:28:47.

lot of quid. Everybody's happy. The green jacket.

:28:48.:28:56.

That's splendid. It's good to see Joy. Joy of unbounded. -- Joy

:28:57.:29:09.

unbounded. If you grow up watching golf on the BBC and thought, one day

:29:10.:29:13.

I'd like to play there, like to be a professional golfer, like to do

:29:14.:29:17.

this... I don't suppose he ever thought in his heart of hearts it

:29:18.:29:20.

was necessarily going to win the green jacket, but he's got one.

:29:21.:29:25.

Here's Spieth. This has got to go in. Tricky shot.

:29:26.:29:36.

Steady, steady, steady. He is OK. What an extraordinary couple of

:29:37.:29:52.

hours. Can't really believe it. Finishing on the 18th with a four.

:29:53.:30:00.

He has had a good tournament, Matsuyama. 34 home. 73. Playing with

:30:01.:30:10.

Bernhard Langer, too big a course for him. 5-over. He has given the

:30:11.:30:23.

crowd, we older fellows, something to cheer about. His legs weren't

:30:24.:30:30.

quite strong enough to carry his heart around.

:30:31.:30:40.

Nice round of applause. This man is the champion, Danny Willett is the

:30:41.:30:54.

Masters champion. He knew as soon as Jordan Spieth missed, the green

:30:55.:31:00.

jacket was his. An Englishman, well done, well done!

:31:01.:31:17.

Here it is. He didn't know it was the winning moment at the time, but

:31:18.:31:26.

it was. The crowd applaud the champion this year. Thoughts from

:31:27.:31:34.

Lee Westwood. Billy Foster, been out a long time, seen play well. That is

:31:35.:31:44.

it. It will stay in the memory for a long while, well done, Danny. Well

:31:45.:31:47.

done, indeed. That was an extraordinary four days.

:31:48.:32:02.

For three days, nobody was particularly happy, the weather was

:32:03.:32:09.

against them. But the last two and a half hours, worth twice the price of

:32:10.:32:14.

the admission. Danny Willett is, the winner. What a thing to have a

:32:15.:32:19.

Yorkshireman putting on the green jacket. Absolutely fabulous.

:32:20.:32:22.

Champion of the world. Will it be Danny's jacket? You bet

:32:23.:32:38.

it will. He becomes the 50th different player to win the Masters.

:32:39.:32:47.

He wins the tournament as a new dad. And his wife celebrates her birthday

:32:48.:32:50.

today. Can you imagine the celebrations for the family. A

:32:51.:32:56.

wonderful winter for Danny Willett. Jordan Spieth is the man who will be

:32:57.:33:01.

presenting the green jacket to Danny. His charmed existence here

:33:02.:33:06.

for the last couple of days is over. But Jordan has to play out this 18th

:33:07.:33:15.

hole. It all turned around for him on the corner, as it has done for so

:33:16.:33:21.

many players. This is his second to the 18th. It is good dredging -- gut

:33:22.:33:32.

wrenching to see a player lose like that. But it will change Danny's

:33:33.:33:38.

life for ever. The final scenes, Jordan Spieth playing the green. He

:33:39.:33:50.

plays a beauty. Ten, 11, 12 will be etched on his memory for evermore.

:33:51.:33:56.

17 strokes for three holes. Killed him. All week he was slightly

:33:57.:34:03.

battling his game. It was fun stuff stick how he was making those saving

:34:04.:34:17.

putts. First nine holes, he was OK, five shots clear. Then it all went

:34:18.:34:24.

pear shaped. What things will you think about? Alone with your

:34:25.:34:26.

thoughts. It is like dominoes. You can get

:34:27.:34:41.

them all standing up at the same time and then want toppled over and

:34:42.:34:46.

knocks another one, then that knocks another one. It can be brutal at

:34:47.:34:58.

times. Coffman, 6-over. -- Kaufman. Nice shot. Generous, but muted

:34:59.:35:11.

sympathy applause. Sympathetic applause for the young man. Only

:35:12.:35:18.

just in his early 20s. This could take a long time,

:35:19.:35:40.

mentally, to recover from. You never know.

:35:41.:35:47.

They are giving him plenty of encouragement.

:35:48.:36:25.

Currently tied for second with Lee Westwood at 2-under par. Big prize

:36:26.:36:34.

money around. Second is just over $1 million. Third will be $80,000. This

:36:35.:36:42.

will be a good putt to put in cash prize. If it takes two, what will he

:36:43.:36:53.

do? If he won putts his second on his own? Remember those, Peter? Cut

:36:54.:37:11.

me to the quick. He never got his driver right. He cracked the face of

:37:12.:37:16.

his driver, which sometimes happens and then you have two search for

:37:17.:37:20.

another head. His driving wasn't on song. Rory McIlroy, had a

:37:21.:37:25.

tremendously mixed bag of tricks this week. Good, bad, indifferent.

:37:26.:37:41.

Extraordinary how it goes. Kaufman for a par. He hasn't got it!

:37:42.:37:56.

Learning curve. We all said that when somebody hasn't done as well as

:37:57.:38:01.

they hoped, and you are young. You learn from your mistakes. He is very

:38:02.:38:09.

promising, round in 39. Four drop shots.

:38:10.:38:19.

Tied for 29th in the end. The thing is with golf, you have time to think

:38:20.:38:30.

and that is a killer. You have got to control your imagination. Danny

:38:31.:38:41.

Willett, the winner. Finished second in his first year, second last year,

:38:42.:38:56.

second again and not bad. Steady! I think he is in his own world now. He

:38:57.:39:01.

has got to pull himself together, face the music, face the green

:39:02.:39:06.

jacket. But the jacket on Danny Willett. Smile and say, well done to

:39:07.:39:18.

you. He is certainly a class act. Everything he has done since he

:39:19.:39:21.

turned professional has been very classy. Quite remarkable. He has got

:39:22.:39:33.

to learn to play a little bit quicker. Otherwise, if they ever do

:39:34.:39:37.

anything about slow play, there is two or three of them who really have

:39:38.:39:40.

to get on with it a bit. That is it. When you come to the end

:39:41.:40:03.

of the not a perfect day, you walk through the crowd, sign the card.

:40:04.:40:10.

Sorry about that, Governor. Yes, me too! Hopefully there will be other

:40:11.:40:13.

days. Came right out of the blue, didn't

:40:14.:40:43.

it? Crushing seven at the par-3 and that was it. Jyoti unbound. Well

:40:44.:40:47.

done. -- joy. Second appearance here, 28 years of

:40:48.:41:07.

age. Made his mark this week in the global game of golf. Quite a better

:41:08.:41:14.

into the 21, 22-year-olds. -- veteran.

:41:15.:41:22.

Get his card right. Into the cabin to give Danny his green jacket.

:41:23.:41:52.

Well, selfie as the Masters champion. Wearing green but there

:41:53.:41:58.

will be another shade to go onto those shoulders. Danny Willett has

:41:59.:42:05.

become the fourth richest player to wear the green jacket, or be

:42:06.:42:08.

presented with the green jacket. There is confirmation of the three

:42:09.:42:14.

shot victory. The 28 are all from Yorkshire. Lee Westwood, another

:42:15.:42:21.

runner-up, finished third in Majors. That he gave it a good go today, Lee

:42:22.:42:29.

Westwood. Jordan Spieth, the spell is broken for Jordan. Paul Casey, 67

:42:30.:42:36.

as well. Matthew Fitzpatrick and Justin Rose, all of these English

:42:37.:42:43.

players in the top ten. Nick, Ian Woosnam and now Danny who are the

:42:44.:42:46.

British Masters champions. He has done it. What a way to

:42:47.:42:54.

finish. Yes, yes! What a man. What a man.

:42:55.:43:11.

Terrific stuff. So Nick's third green jacket.

:43:12.:44:04.

Fittingly, it was a 67 Nick shot all that time ago to beat Greg Norman. A

:44:05.:44:15.

flawless round of 67. You said at the beginning, when Jordan Spieth

:44:16.:44:18.

faltered, somebody had to be ready and this young man was ready? He

:44:19.:44:24.

was, you have to be ready to figure out when you have the lead. The

:44:25.:44:29.

pressure was all on Jordan Spieth. The guys chasing had to know that if

:44:30.:44:33.

he stumbled, they had to be ready mentally. He was. Lee Westwood

:44:34.:44:38.

wasn't quite ready, he let it get away and 16. The Danny Willett

:44:39.:44:45.

didn't. Tremendous birdie. One man's heartache gives way to another man's

:44:46.:44:51.

joy. Golf is a cruel game. Champions willingly putting themselves out

:44:52.:44:58.

there to be exposed for millions to see them fail. I can tell you,

:44:59.:45:03.

first-hand, it is an amazing feeling. Good for him. To win at the

:45:04.:45:08.

Masters you have to be a complete player. That is when he found out he

:45:09.:45:17.

had won. He was on the phone to back home. When Nick won the those green

:45:18.:45:27.

jackets, Danny was 80 years old. -- eight years old. The champagne has

:45:28.:45:35.

been nice from a British point of view for two decades. Has been a

:45:36.:45:41.

very long wait. When you think about the period of dominations, 11

:45:42.:45:46.

European wins in 20 years, Paul, it does seem remarkable we have had

:45:47.:45:49.

such a long time to wait. But there is confirmation. Danny Willett,

:45:50.:45:56.

5-under. At the man who was leading for such a long time, Jordan Spieth,

:45:57.:46:03.

finishes three shots behind. You just wonder from Jordan Spieth's

:46:04.:46:07.

point of view, how he will reflect on that. We haven't seen him falter

:46:08.:46:13.

and show such frailty in a major context in his fledgling career. He

:46:14.:46:19.

is young. It seems like he treats all his experiences, even his

:46:20.:46:23.

negative ones, like learning experiences. He will be all right,

:46:24.:46:28.

he will be playing the Masters for 30 or 40 more years, but it is a gut

:46:29.:46:35.

wrenching thing for Jordan Spieth, he will lose a lot of sleep. It will

:46:36.:46:40.

stay with him all his life. Greg Norman and Arnold Palmer had

:46:41.:46:44.

crushing defeats. But somebody has got to grab the bit. While Jordan

:46:45.:46:50.

spit the bit, it was hard to watch, but Danny Willett 's stepped-up when

:46:51.:46:57.

he had two and he is the man right now. I note Jordan Spieth, clearly

:46:58.:47:04.

upset, as one would be, but I think American television has been

:47:05.:47:07.

chatting to Jordan Spieth. He has had an amazing ability to process

:47:08.:47:11.

the information and some of the events he has gone through and

:47:12.:47:15.

rationalise them. That has always been a facet of his play.

:47:16.:47:19.

Considering his tender years, 22 years of age. He is a great guy,

:47:20.:47:27.

he's very analytical and he is, who you think he is. I am happy for

:47:28.:47:33.

Danny Willett. These are huge moment in a player's career. Any time you

:47:34.:47:38.

play well at Augusta, it carries on for a long time. This guy is the

:47:39.:47:43.

limit now for Danny Willett. Let's hear from Jordan Spieth.

:47:44.:47:50.

Jordan, we can only imagine how disappointed you are. Strong opening

:47:51.:47:53.

nine and then you made the turn and the wheels seemed to come off? Yes,

:47:54.:48:00.

it is tough, really tough. Talk about the 12th and what you are

:48:01.:48:03.

going through mentally when you were trying to play that hole? That ball

:48:04.:48:10.

flight has come up a bit for me on par threes this week. I am not

:48:11.:48:15.

getting around my body and. But a bad swing on it at the wrong time.

:48:16.:48:19.

Should have gone into the drop so where we knew the yardage. It was

:48:20.:48:25.

hard for me to commit over by the 13th hole. Just compound of mistakes

:48:26.:48:31.

and a lack of discipline. Hit it over the bunker coming off two

:48:32.:48:35.

bogeys instead of realising I was still leading the Masters by a

:48:36.:48:40.

couple of shots. If you could have put a couple of birdies together on

:48:41.:48:44.

the second nine? Four birdies in a row to end the front nine, I knew

:48:45.:48:50.

par was good by even a shot. Sometimes it makes it hard. To go

:48:51.:48:54.

away from the game plan I was using on the front nine. You play a bit

:48:55.:48:58.

conservative and I put some weak swings on it and three health in a

:48:59.:49:05.

row, and I'm not leading any more. Your record here, a win and two

:49:06.:49:12.

runner-up finishes, you will be disappointed? Pretty sure I am

:49:13.:49:18.

disappointed. We still have the confidence, we are closing team and

:49:19.:49:23.

we can close. I have no doubt about that ability. I just think it was a

:49:24.:49:30.

very tough 30 minutes for me, that hopefully I will never experience

:49:31.:49:33.

again. Jordan, thank you very much. A real

:49:34.:49:39.

man to come out and face bill like that and rationalise. What do you

:49:40.:49:43.

think will be the greatest lesson he will take away from here this week?

:49:44.:49:49.

He has got to fix whatever was going on, make sure it doesn't happen

:49:50.:49:55.

again. He led the week in putting, brilliant around the greens. His

:49:56.:49:59.

driver caved in and maybe that caused him to change his swing

:50:00.:50:03.

slightly, but it looked like he was aiming a little bit to the right. A

:50:04.:50:07.

couple of the shots he got under got away from him. Balls should never

:50:08.:50:15.

start to the right of the bunker on 12. Great players see the line on

:50:16.:50:23.

full shots and putts. Here it is again. Straight up in the air. He

:50:24.:50:28.

knew right away, the crowd knew right away. It was a disaster on 12.

:50:29.:50:34.

I said before he hit the shot, it would be the most nervous tee shot

:50:35.:50:38.

in the game of golf with a 1-shot lead. Only to be trumped by this one

:50:39.:50:44.

to be more nervy and difficult. What was so shocking, he had the run of

:50:45.:50:51.

four birdies in a row and holding a five shot lead. You thought, this

:50:52.:50:57.

relentless march to a second Masters title in a row, and history seemed

:50:58.:51:02.

almost inevitable? It is a long week, when you are out difference,

:51:03.:51:09.

Augusta is a nervous place. The wind made it more nervous. It takes a lot

:51:10.:51:16.

out of you. I don't know how he eats when he is nervous. I didn't eat

:51:17.:51:20.

well when I am nervous. It is fatigue, it can sink in, lack of

:51:21.:51:27.

discipline. He had his coach fly in this morning to try to fix what was

:51:28.:51:31.

going wrong. I am hard broken for him. Now it is time to focus on

:51:32.:51:36.

Danny Willett and what a huge life changing experience this will be for

:51:37.:51:40.

him. He will never be the same, he will always be a Masters champion.

:51:41.:51:49.

Darren Clarke, the great man who predicted he will be the future of

:51:50.:51:59.

European golf. He is just about to receive his prize, Danny boy, the

:52:00.:52:01.

green jacket is calling. Having to be search a tough quest to

:52:02.:52:17.

finally win, it feels better. Finally made a bunch of putts. It

:52:18.:52:26.

was fun. This was pretty close. It is the most nerve wracking golf

:52:27.:52:30.

course in the world. I can't tell you how fortunate I am to win this

:52:31.:52:36.

tournament. I am probably as happy as I have ever been in my life. To

:52:37.:52:40.

win this tournament is an amazing feeling. I have never got this far

:52:41.:52:46.

in my dreams. It is a dream come true. Final preparations are being

:52:47.:52:53.

made right now in the bottler cabin. It is all yours, Jim.

:52:54.:53:02.

Wonderful job. Thank you. We will soon repeat the long-standing

:53:03.:53:08.

tradition of the award of the Masters green jacket. I would like

:53:09.:53:13.

to take this opportunity to thank our television viewers across

:53:14.:53:15.

America, in over 200 countries around the world, for your long-term

:53:16.:53:22.

and loyal support of the Masters. I now welcome three special gentlemen,

:53:23.:53:26.

this year's amateur, Bryson DeChambeau. Bryson, congratulations.

:53:27.:53:32.

Last year's champion, Mr Jordan Spieth. Jordan, good to see you. And

:53:33.:53:40.

this year's champion, the 2016 champion, Danny Willett.

:53:41.:53:44.

Congratulations. Delighted to see you. Please have a seat, I know Jim

:53:45.:53:53.

has a few questions. I begin with Bryson, your preparation for this

:53:54.:53:57.

tournament, the emphasis you put up playing at Augusta, trying to

:53:58.:54:00.

content all the win as an amateur, how do you put that into words? It

:54:01.:54:07.

is an honour to be able to be the low amateur, never in a million

:54:08.:54:11.

years did I think that what happened. It is quite an honour and

:54:12.:54:17.

I worked hard to get to this point. Congratulations to you, Danny. Fun

:54:18.:54:20.

to watch a play out there. Good job. What is next to you, Bryson. I

:54:21.:54:27.

turned professional. I look forward to making a cheque next week. Good

:54:28.:54:34.

luck, congratulations. Tied for 21st. Danny, you had a while to let

:54:35.:54:39.

it sink in, I am not sure it has. You have been on your phone, with

:54:40.:54:47.

your wife, you are a new dad, a new major minted champion, life is

:54:48.:54:53.

pretty sweet? It has been crazy, you cannot describe your emotions and

:54:54.:54:57.

feelings. We have all got to try and play good golf and somebody has got

:54:58.:55:02.

to win the tournament. Fortunately today, it was my day. What was it

:55:03.:55:07.

like out there today trying to chase Jordan on the second nine? It was

:55:08.:55:12.

tough, every time we made ground, Jordan kept pulling ahead. We try to

:55:13.:55:18.

make birdies, after birdies. I thought we had to get to six or

:55:19.:55:22.

seven, then we would look up the leaderboard and he was already at

:55:23.:55:25.

seven. It was very surreal when you look back at the ebb and flow. We

:55:26.:55:31.

were fortunate the shots we had were correct. Who was your inspiration,

:55:32.:55:36.

only the second Englishman to win the green jacket. It is crazy, my

:55:37.:55:44.

wife was Bjorn, in about ten minutes time, 28 years ago. So it is her

:55:45.:55:49.

birthday. My son was due today, but he came 12 days early to let me come

:55:50.:55:54.

and play. You talk about fate and everything else that goes with it,

:55:55.:55:59.

it has been a crazy week. You did know for months that April ten was

:56:00.:56:03.

the due date, you just didn't know what. Now it is time for the green

:56:04.:56:10.

jacket. Jordan, will you do the honour, presents our new champion

:56:11.:56:17.

with his jacket. Danny, congratulations, we are very proud

:56:18.:56:23.

of you. Welcome to our family. Thank you. It fits like a glove. Brilliant

:56:24.:56:32.

moments for Danny Willett and his family, for British and European

:56:33.:56:35.

golf after a dramatic, fascinating and wonderful final day here in the

:56:36.:56:40.

80th playing up the Masters. Danny Willett is the 50th different winner

:56:41.:56:48.

of the Masters. This was the moment when he realised he had done it.

:56:49.:56:53.

Jordan Spieth had faltered and he realised at the green jacket was all

:56:54.:57:00.

his. And will for ever be his. He will always have a place here at

:57:01.:57:04.

Augusta. That is one of the wonderful traditions. He will always

:57:05.:57:08.

be able to come back and play here well into his old age, if he chooses

:57:09.:57:15.

to. He has many more years and many more major titles to win. Danny

:57:16.:57:20.

Willett, his first major title at the age of 28. He was very much up

:57:21.:57:25.

there at St Andrews at the halfway mark in a tied sixth finish at the

:57:26.:57:30.

Open Championship. He has followed it up here with his first ever

:57:31.:57:36.

Masters win. You are a major champion, how does his life change

:57:37.:57:39.

when you achieve one of the greatest prizes? Everybody will recognise

:57:40.:57:45.

you, that is the first thing and the dollars will start coming in. He

:57:46.:57:49.

will have a lot of the man is on his life, you have to mind his schedule

:57:50.:57:54.

to be able to play well. It is a Ryder Cup year, a lot going on in

:57:55.:57:59.

Danny Willett's life, he is unaware of. The wheels will be spinning for

:58:00.:58:06.

his agents and golf is an unbelievable game. It can rip your

:58:07.:58:09.

heart out, but it can give you great joy. While one man's heart is being

:58:10.:58:16.

ripped out, and the man's heart is full of joy. That is Danny Willett.

:58:17.:58:23.

I feel sorry the Jordan Spieth, but Danny Willett deserves it. You don't

:58:24.:58:30.

win an Augusta National unless you can do it all. There is joy shining

:58:31.:58:36.

out of those eyes, but there was believed shining out of those eyes

:58:37.:58:41.

all day and he was ready to pounce. He pounced on 16. It was obvious the

:58:42.:58:46.

board had shifted and he was two shots clear. He put the 8-iron in.

:58:47.:58:51.

He used his adrenaline to his advantage, blasted the beautiful

:58:52.:59:00.

shots, then made the putt. At the terrific second shot on 18. All the

:59:01.:59:05.

shots coming in from a point, I missed how he got over the green on

:59:06.:59:11.

17, but two shots on 18 were fabulous. He is hoping everyone.

:59:12.:59:17.

Hopefully we will be seeing him soon. But the Nao, thank you very

:59:18.:59:22.

much for being with us. It has been a joy. We have had an awful wait,

:59:23.:59:27.

British golf, European golf and it has been worth it. Danny Willett,

:59:28.:59:31.

after the trials tribulations of Jordan Spieth, it has been a

:59:32.:59:37.

tumultuous final day, both for Jordan and Danny Willett. His life

:59:38.:59:42.

is about to change, but the wait is over. Danny Willett is the master.
