Good evening. This is Olympic sports day. I work top story this evening: | :00:00. | :00:43.
concerns that the Paralympic games will not be as originally planned, | :00:44. | :00:49.
with major Budget cuts. Team GB are still sitting second in the Olympic | :00:50. | :00:53.
medal table. The tally could rise after the show jumping with Nick | :00:54. | :00:57.
Skelton going strong at the age of 58. There is a guaranteed medal | :00:58. | :01:02.
coming up later this evening in the hockey. Great Britain's women are | :01:03. | :01:05.
meant the final against the Netherlands. Tonight is the night | :01:06. | :01:10.
for Usain Bolt. His final Olympic race as he looks to complete that | :01:11. | :01:15.
treble treble. Also coming up we will have the rest of the sports | :01:16. | :01:20.
headlines away from Rio as Jose Mourinho and Manchester United | :01:21. | :01:24.
prepare for the first of a guiding light fixtures this season. -- first | :01:25. | :01:31.
Friday night fixtures. Three more days to go in B O. We are | :01:32. | :01:35.
second in the medal table and we will show you why the experts think | :01:36. | :01:40.
they can stay there. We will get to the equestrian centre just a moment | :01:41. | :01:44.
or two with hopes of a British medal in a jump of. Well done if you | :01:45. | :01:48.
stayed up late got up early for the medals overnight. We will look back | :01:49. | :01:52.
with a brilliant sniper Jade Jones. And Usain Bolt as well. But we will | :01:53. | :01:55.
start this evening with that Paralympic News. Games are going to | :01:56. | :02:00.
be very different from the original plans because of massive financial | :02:01. | :02:04.
constraints. Let's cross live to the Olympic Park now and speak to our | :02:05. | :02:10.
correspondence. Chris, Sir Philip Craven, the head of the Paralympic | :02:11. | :02:14.
movement, put on a brave face in the last couple of hours. They looked to | :02:15. | :02:19.
be in a really dire situation still. Yes. I think that is probably fair. | :02:20. | :02:25.
This is news we had been expecting. Today confirmation of course. Beers | :02:26. | :02:28.
at the beginning of the Olympic Games that even before the ticket | :02:29. | :02:34.
sales for the Paralympic were pretty poor, they were struggling to | :02:35. | :02:38.
attract sponsorship, and then the news that the Government could not | :02:39. | :02:43.
plug a financial gap because of an injunction that no more public money | :02:44. | :02:48.
could be injected into the Olympic Games and the Paralympic games. That | :02:49. | :02:52.
injunction has been lifted but it turns out, the money that the | :02:53. | :02:55.
Government are putting in is not enough and as you say, there will | :02:56. | :03:00.
now be a scaled-back Paralympic games. To give you an example of | :03:01. | :03:04.
where these cuts will hit, there will be a reduced number of staff, | :03:05. | :03:09.
transport reductions as well. Less drivers, closing of venues, | :03:10. | :03:15.
especially some venues at a complex, and the Olympic Park venue will | :03:16. | :03:20.
close. Some media centres as well will close and reduced capacity at | :03:21. | :03:27.
the venues that will be open. So it is a big blow to the IPC and the | :03:28. | :03:32.
Paralympic games, perhaps unexpected given some of the noises we have | :03:33. | :03:36.
been hearing him. This is The View of Philip Craven. | :03:37. | :03:42.
Never before in the 56 year history of the Paralympic games have we | :03:43. | :03:46.
faced circumstances like this. Clearly, Brazil is in a far | :03:47. | :03:50.
different position now to the one that it was in October 2009 when it | :03:51. | :03:56.
won the right to stage the games. The situation is difficult for | :03:57. | :04:00.
everyone involved and on top of bringing in extra revenues and | :04:01. | :04:04.
making cuts, we need to sell more tickets. At this point, it difficult | :04:05. | :04:11.
for us to expect the full venues that we saw in Beijing or London or | :04:12. | :04:20.
expected to in Tokyo. The captain of the strolling women's wheelchair | :04:21. | :04:22.
basketball team at the Sydney 2000 Paralympics said: Paralympic instead | :04:23. | :04:28.
have the time to worry about what doesn't work, they just maximise | :04:29. | :04:35.
what styles. And I can assure you that is what we are going to do | :04:36. | :04:37.
here. -- maximise what styles. Strong | :04:38. | :04:43.
words than at a got under three weeks to do all of this. I was | :04:44. | :04:46.
listening to the conference as you were. The one thing that jumped out | :04:47. | :04:51.
was there working desperately hard to protect athletes services. | :04:52. | :04:54.
Slightly corporate speak therefore we want all the athletes to come. | :04:55. | :05:00.
But that is in doubt, isn't it? Yes, I think it is. I think Sir | :05:01. | :05:04.
Philip Craven also said they were working hour by hour. This is not | :05:05. | :05:07.
just a case of day by day. It really is that close. Initially, when these | :05:08. | :05:14.
fears that emerged it was understood that up to 50 of the 165 countries | :05:15. | :05:21.
may be struggling to make it here to Rio and now we believe around ten of | :05:22. | :05:26.
the smaller nations will struggle. Several of Craven says he believes | :05:27. | :05:30.
that all of the athletes who have been working very hard for the past | :05:31. | :05:35.
four years, expecting to be year, should be allowed to compete. As it | :05:36. | :05:39.
stands, that of course is now in jeopardy. Let's hear from a veteran | :05:40. | :05:48.
of the Paralympic games. That is really disappointing. The | :05:49. | :05:52.
smaller countries, that doesn't make it any better. Just as I was reading | :05:53. | :05:55.
the statement, you wonder whether Britain and America... There are | :05:56. | :05:58.
more developed countries could maybe find a way of making it happen. The | :05:59. | :06:03.
IPC does not have a huge amount of money but it would be hugely | :06:04. | :06:06.
disappointing if there is not some way around it. There are 20 days was | :06:07. | :06:10.
that you can do a huge amount in 20 days and you can get people there. | :06:11. | :06:14.
We will see. This one will run and run. We will see how ready they get | :06:15. | :06:18.
for that September the 7th start. URA sports news correspondent. The | :06:19. | :06:25.
American swimmers, sounds like we are the little bit closer to the | :06:26. | :06:30.
truth of what actually happened to them and the Brazilian police have | :06:31. | :06:33.
called off the dogs. Yes. We may well finally have | :06:34. | :06:38.
closure on one of the bizarre wrist Olympic stories of all time. | :06:39. | :06:44.
Remember an Olympic gold medallist, one of the most high profile members | :06:45. | :06:48.
of team USA, earlier in the week said that himself and three of his | :06:49. | :06:53.
team-mates had been held up at gunpoint then the police said there | :06:54. | :06:56.
was no evidence of this having taken place and all seemed a little bit | :06:57. | :07:03.
fishy. Then CCTV footage emerged of him and his team-mates at a petrol | :07:04. | :07:07.
station appearing to get into some kind of argument with the petrol | :07:08. | :07:10.
station staff. Basically what has happened as the police stay they | :07:11. | :07:15.
made the story up to cover up the bat that they were out late and it | :07:16. | :07:21.
looks like they perhaps rout enjoying Rio and tried to cover up | :07:22. | :07:27.
the fact that they were indeed out perhaps without the permission of | :07:28. | :07:32.
the US team. He has since apologised for suggesting that he had been held | :07:33. | :07:37.
up. I think a gun was held up to himself and his team-mates during | :07:38. | :07:41.
the incident at the petrol station. They paid for some of the damage | :07:42. | :07:47.
done at the petrol station. He has now apologised. The old 2016 said | :07:48. | :07:53.
that they welcomed the apology because the Brazilian people felt | :07:54. | :08:00.
somewhat humiliated by the story. Rio 2016 Brazil in general has not | :08:01. | :08:03.
had problems in terms of controversial stories, true | :08:04. | :08:08.
controversial stories with Garda security, so bad that was one that | :08:09. | :08:13.
they did not need. It appears he did make the story up but it may well | :08:14. | :08:18.
bring to an end one of the stranger stories in Olympic history, as I | :08:19. | :08:22.
say. Let's hope so. | :08:23. | :08:27.
Many thanks. Let's get back to Olympic sporting matters. The | :08:28. | :08:30.
equestrian centre where Team GB have medal chances in the individual | :08:31. | :08:34.
jumping final. It was Mark leather two rounds. Nick Skelton and Ben | :08:35. | :08:39.
Meier the only British riders after Michael Whitaker's was had with four | :08:40. | :08:46.
because of medical symptoms. Skelton, who is 58, is competing in | :08:47. | :08:50.
his seventh column picks. He topped the rankings after a seventh clear | :08:51. | :08:54.
round. The same partnership that helped win team gold in 2012. But | :08:55. | :08:58.
they felt qualified that the team final in Rio. It went clear inside | :08:59. | :09:02.
the time ever both France. As the bombers could not be beaten by five | :09:03. | :09:07.
other riders have equalled it so far to force a jump of for the gold. So | :09:08. | :09:15.
nothing guaranteed. He is into that jump off. It was a great night for | :09:16. | :09:20.
Jade Jones in the tae kwon do. We will hear from her. He won bronze in | :09:21. | :09:33.
London. He has been hampered by injuries over the last year. He was | :09:34. | :09:39.
in complete control. 14 nil up at the end of the second round against | :09:40. | :09:44.
his Australian opponent. They'd is called the bout of them gave it to | :09:45. | :09:50.
Muhammad. The quarter finals are later this evening. | :09:51. | :09:56.
It is exactly what I wanted. Rio is a beautiful city and I'm here | :09:57. | :10:00.
enjoying myself. I just want to keep doing this. | :10:01. | :10:03.
One down, three to go. It was the bronze medal three years ago. You | :10:04. | :10:08.
want to do better this time around. I'm only here for gold. I've got | :10:09. | :10:13.
three more matches to accomplish my gold. So it is three medal -- gold | :10:14. | :10:18.
medal or bust. Let's hear from Jade Jones in the | :10:19. | :10:22.
tae kwon do. Four years ago she was the youngest gold medallist for Team | :10:23. | :10:26.
GB. The 19-year-old, who loves kicking people in the head, | :10:27. | :10:30.
remember, her nickname was the head hunter and still is. She retained | :10:31. | :10:36.
her tae kwon do title, beating Spain's competitor. | :10:37. | :10:43.
I knew I could win but in tae kwon do anything can happen. You can get | :10:44. | :10:46.
kicked in the head in the last few seconds and the best does not always | :10:47. | :10:50.
win so until I got the gold medal round my neck, I can't imagine it | :10:51. | :10:56.
and it is just amazing to finally have it. | :10:57. | :10:59.
You won gold in London 2012. Did you feel more pressure coming into this | :11:00. | :11:03.
competition as the defending champion? | :11:04. | :11:05.
Yes. I knew I would have pressure coming into it but I did not know | :11:06. | :11:07.
how much until yesterday to be honest. I have never felt anything | :11:08. | :11:14.
like the pressures will stop it was horrible. But I managed to pull | :11:15. | :11:17.
through and just kept thinking to myself, one fight at a time. This is | :11:18. | :11:21.
what I do. They in day out. It doesn't matter if it is the Olympics | :11:22. | :11:26.
or just doing what I do and it's paid off. | :11:27. | :11:28.
What does it mean to you to see the scenes at home? | :11:29. | :11:32.
It is amazing. The home support I get is a men's. I could not ask for | :11:33. | :11:37.
more. I've got ten of my family members who have flown out what to | :11:38. | :11:41.
be. They are always behind me. And it does mean so much and makes me go | :11:42. | :11:45.
that extra bit further. Seeing their reaction is just amazing and I face | :11:46. | :11:52.
time them after the semifinal and my friend was showing me around and get | :11:53. | :11:56.
to speak to my dad and it is such an amazing feeling. They are just | :11:57. | :12:01.
genuinely all wanting me to do well. It is just lovely. Let's have a | :12:02. | :12:04.
quick look around some of the other venues. Events taking place today. | :12:05. | :12:09.
The heat won a silver for Team GB in the double sprint carrier on | :12:10. | :12:13.
Wednesday. He has qualified for tomorrow's final of the singles in | :12:14. | :12:17.
the quickest time. The women's fours are through to the finals of the | :12:18. | :12:22.
kayak sprint after finishing joint second in their heat is just behind | :12:23. | :12:28.
Germany. Medal a real possibility for Britain there. Great Britain's | :12:29. | :12:31.
Samantha Murray has finished fourth fastest in the modern pentathlon and | :12:32. | :12:37.
freestyle swimming. She was able aiming to make up for it responding | :12:38. | :12:42.
start in the fencing. That was followed by a chance to score extra | :12:43. | :12:45.
points in the bonus round of the fencing. A new addition to the | :12:46. | :12:50.
modern pentathlon. Murray, who won the silver medal in London, is | :12:51. | :12:58.
waiting to see how that improved her position in the standings. Her | :12:59. | :13:03.
team-mate Kate French who fed by the better yesterday was 15th fastest in | :13:04. | :13:07.
the pool but did not score any extra points in the fencing bonus rounds | :13:08. | :13:11.
today. Great Britain's Charlie Hull is in contention in the third round | :13:12. | :13:15.
of the women's golf. She was nine under overall. Shot for the day | :13:16. | :13:18.
after that birdie on the tenth. She is in a fall way tie for second | :13:19. | :13:25.
place. Three shots by the leader. -- behind the leader. The world number | :13:26. | :13:32.
one made a very impressive charge up the leaderboard. This hole in one. A | :13:33. | :13:51.
round of 65. Mark Cavendish we back on the road racing next month. The | :13:52. | :13:58.
British side the track in VO and managed to break his Olympic top of | :13:59. | :14:03.
the first medal for him. A silver. Finally. The third Olympics. It took | :14:04. | :14:10.
a lot. As I was talking yesterday it is hard to believe that just a few | :14:11. | :14:14.
weeks ago I was riding over the Pyrenees and falls and then anything | :14:15. | :14:19.
changed went to the velodrome and competing in the Olympics is just | :14:20. | :14:26.
just so different. For me to represent Great Britain is such an | :14:27. | :14:29.
honour. The Olympic of the best things to do that. It is the biggest | :14:30. | :14:36.
thing. To come away with the medal not just the track cyclist but the | :14:37. | :14:40.
whole of Team GB, it is quite an honour. I am a professional bike | :14:41. | :14:45.
rider and know what it is like to crash. I'm not going to put somebody | :14:46. | :14:48.
into danger that I know I in as well. Especially someone I like, a | :14:49. | :14:53.
good bike rider. He was not in a medal position. It had no bearing if | :14:54. | :14:59.
I did something to him anyway, you know? But I spoke to him and he's | :15:00. | :15:03.
all right about it. And I'm glad he's all right, really. It obviously | :15:04. | :15:09.
I get asked questions. It was a basic mistake. It was mistake on my | :15:10. | :15:13.
part. It was my fault. Still don't know how the judges let | :15:14. | :15:17.
him get away with that but glad they did because that he got his Olympic | :15:18. | :15:20.
medal finally. Let's just move away from Rio for | :15:21. | :15:24.
just a minute or two to bring you some non-Olympics port. Assuming it | :15:25. | :15:27.
is the first Friday Premier League match of the new season. Manchester | :15:28. | :15:31.
United attempted Southampton looking to make it two wins of two. One | :15:32. | :15:37.
player could make his first appearance for the club since | :15:38. | :15:40.
rejoining them. Sometimes even without you noticing, | :15:41. | :15:47.
we changed. So if you are expecting us the change to magically assistant | :15:48. | :15:52.
that the player, we're not going to do that. Not to play with five then | :15:53. | :15:58.
the back because in Juventus it was playing with by then the back and he | :15:59. | :16:04.
played them for many years and in that system we're not going to do | :16:05. | :16:07.
that. So we are not going for the dramatic changes. | :16:08. | :16:12.
These are the rest of the fixtures across the weekend. Manchester city. | :16:13. | :16:20.
Many a great manager has come unstuck at the Britannia. At the | :16:21. | :16:26.
King power his first against second from last season. Leicester and | :16:27. | :16:30.
Arsenal looking to bounce back from opening-day defeats. A couple of | :16:31. | :16:33.
matches on the Sunday including the north-east derby for the season | :16:34. | :16:37.
which will be Sunderland against Middlesbrough in the absence of | :16:38. | :16:42.
Newcastle. It is a Friday night match in the Scottish Premiership as | :16:43. | :16:47.
well. Dundee at home to Hamilton. Celtic at Saint Johnstone. Leaders | :16:48. | :16:50.
Rangers are at home to mother will. Also him games for Aberdeen, hearts | :16:51. | :16:57.
Ross County. This weekend Guernsey FC is making a fake up history when | :16:58. | :17:02.
they play Thamesmead town in the preliminary round of the | :17:03. | :17:05.
competition. It will be the first FA Cup match to be held on the Channel | :17:06. | :17:10.
Islands. Their manager says it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for | :17:11. | :17:14.
the club and the islanders. Mike Wilkins reports. At last the FA | :17:15. | :17:19.
Cup in the Channel Islands. This cup has been too many places but it is | :17:20. | :17:22.
the first time it has been to Guernsey and tomorrow it will be the | :17:23. | :17:25.
first time the competition has ever been played outside the UK. | :17:26. | :17:31.
It is great to be able to expand the horizons of the FA Cup, really. To | :17:32. | :17:35.
be able to get a game played in the Guernsey for the first time ever is | :17:36. | :17:39.
major and I'm delighted we could bring the cup along. | :17:40. | :17:42.
At this hotel the manager has a particular interest in the cup. Here | :17:43. | :17:46.
he is holding it must 30 years ago after his dad won it as the manager | :17:47. | :17:50.
of Coventry City. We had a big party, as you would. | :17:51. | :17:56.
Then came home until the early hours. | :17:57. | :17:59.
And the cup came home with you question what it did indeed. Came | :18:00. | :18:05.
home with dad. I took it to bed, which is a bit weird. I left it next | :18:06. | :18:11.
to the bed night, yeah. On this page, Guernsey FC who play | :18:12. | :18:14.
in the eighth tier of endless football would play on a pitch | :18:15. | :18:20.
closer to France than the UK. They were supposed to hold a match three | :18:21. | :18:24.
years ago but a fixture trash with the rugby club who also use this | :18:25. | :18:30.
ground meant that it had been played in the UK. They said their river | :18:31. | :18:33.
that is disappointment and say tomorrow's matches a great | :18:34. | :18:36.
opportunity for sports fans. He won't get an opportunity in | :18:37. | :18:41.
Guernsey to come close to this trophy because in seven or eight | :18:42. | :18:44.
months' time there will be someone very famous listing this trophy and | :18:45. | :18:47.
unfortunately probably won't be as this is as close as we will ever | :18:48. | :18:51.
gets to it. Never say never when it comes to the | :18:52. | :18:55.
FA Cup and will lose tomorrow, for Guernsey it will be a historic day | :18:56. | :18:59.
as it finally gets to host its very own home FA Cup match. | :19:00. | :19:07.
Keep an eye out for that result tomorrow. Let's get back to Rio and | :19:08. | :19:12.
look at where some of the headlines are being made later that later. Our | :19:13. | :19:16.
correspondence has been waiting patiently. You are in position | :19:17. | :19:21.
there. Something must be afoot. What should I try and stay awake for this | :19:22. | :19:24.
evening? There is plenty to stay away for | :19:25. | :19:27.
this evening but what you are probably going to want to stay awake | :19:28. | :19:34.
for, around 2:35am your time, is Usain Bolt going in the four by 100 | :19:35. | :19:40.
m relay. Can people love the unprecedented treble treble? Use | :19:41. | :19:45.
already defended his 100 metre title and the 200 metre title and 90 goes | :19:46. | :19:50.
for the third title. He would be the first man in history to ever defend | :19:51. | :19:54.
successfully three titles three times. But last night he was looking | :19:55. | :19:58.
to break that world record of his own world record of 19 point one | :19:59. | :20:02.
seconds and it did not happen for him because about 20 minutes before | :20:03. | :20:05.
the race started was a lot of rain which really put paid to that record | :20:06. | :20:10.
going. When he crossed that line he would rather disappointed with | :20:11. | :20:12.
himself and he said afterwards he just wasn't happy with that time | :20:13. | :20:17.
because he knew that was his last Olympic 200 metre final. He has | :20:18. | :20:20.
already talked about retiring next year after the World Championships | :20:21. | :20:24.
in London. And that was the last moment and he did look disappointed. | :20:25. | :20:29.
In that relay final tonight is Great Britain, the European champions, but | :20:30. | :20:32.
is anyone really expecting them to get round without dropping the bat | :20:33. | :20:36.
on because they never do? Four times that of the last five games they | :20:37. | :20:39.
have managed to drop the bat on on the way round so it certainly will | :20:40. | :20:43.
be interesting. All eyes on Usain Bolt. | :20:44. | :20:46.
Stay right where you are I promise I will be back to talk to you. Let's | :20:47. | :20:51.
take you to the equestrian centre because Nick Skelton is into a sixth | :20:52. | :20:57.
man jump of four gold in the individual jumping there. At the age | :20:58. | :21:02.
of 58, his seventh Olympics. This is what is happening there right now. | :21:03. | :21:07.
He is going first in this jump. We will bring you this. Probably not in | :21:08. | :21:11.
our time on Olympics was day. We will show you where he comes. This | :21:12. | :21:15.
is probably the biggest fight of his Olympic career. | :21:16. | :21:26.
It is always suited Nick to go first Nations cups. He likes to get out | :21:27. | :21:31.
there, do his round and he would try to put the pressure on. He's got to | :21:32. | :21:36.
for it. The team manager in the middle. Here | :21:37. | :21:42.
we go for gold. Nick Skelton in the jump off against the clock. From the | :21:43. | :21:55.
second fence back to this vertical, insides turn, and now the double. | :21:56. | :22:03.
Triple bar going in. Brilliantly over that. Now the... Lessig time | :22:04. | :22:10.
check over here. Over on 28.8. APPLAUSE | :22:11. | :22:14.
He has got to do turn back to this vertical. One left to go. Just get | :22:15. | :22:20.
up to the last. APPLAUSE | :22:21. | :22:28.
Isn't enough? 42. 82. Give him a cheer, for goodness sake. That is a | :22:29. | :22:33.
great great start. 42.80 two. What a start for Nick | :22:34. | :22:37.
Skelton. Five more riders to go vote counts do any better than that so he | :22:38. | :22:42.
is going to hope that his rivals pick up some penalties. It could go | :22:43. | :22:46.
to another jump off of course. But Nick Skelton a William first ride in | :22:47. | :22:53.
that individual show-jumping. -- a brilliant first ride. You probably | :22:54. | :23:04.
didn't trust me but you are back. We had to show everybody that. Nick | :23:05. | :23:07.
Skelton going strong. Back on the track. The field, Holly Bradshaw in | :23:08. | :23:13.
the pole vault. She is. And this is her second | :23:14. | :23:18.
Olympic final. She was very London. He only came sixth and she said that | :23:19. | :23:21.
was heartbreaking because Jerry series of jobs where she knew she | :23:22. | :23:26.
couldn't and better. She has had back surgery and spent a lot of time | :23:27. | :23:29.
in bed trying to get back that was in 2013. She is now back and jumping | :23:30. | :23:34.
well and she said on Twitter today, I'm going to give it everything I've | :23:35. | :23:39.
got but most of all I'm going to have fun and enjoy myself. | :23:40. | :23:42.
This is an event that will not be contested by the world | :23:43. | :23:48.
record-holder. She is Russian and of course the Russian track and field | :23:49. | :23:52.
team are not here because of the concerns over state-sponsored | :23:53. | :23:55.
doping. For Holly Bradshaw, there could be a medal in this. She is an | :23:56. | :24:00.
outside shot but if you really perform to our best it could be an | :24:01. | :24:04.
interesting night. Wonder what would be the 5000 | :24:05. | :24:11.
metres. We know what happened in the 10,000 metres. Absolutely smashing | :24:12. | :24:19.
the world record. One of the very early highlights. She is expected to | :24:20. | :24:23.
do the same in the five, is she? Yes. She is. He is looking really | :24:24. | :24:28.
strong in the heats as well. It was not just breaking that world record, | :24:29. | :24:33.
it was 13 seconds, it was absolutely... She destroyed the | :24:34. | :24:36.
field. We cannot keep our people are so many people being lapped that it | :24:37. | :24:39.
was impossible to know what was going on and she is trying to do | :24:40. | :24:44.
what Mo Farah did and go out and do the double. He does not face until | :24:45. | :24:49.
tomorrow night. But she really has all the pressure on her to go on and | :24:50. | :24:53.
do that whereas for me what to do is in the 10,000 she came from nowhere | :24:54. | :24:57.
and no one expected her to do what she did. It is a neat circle of life | :24:58. | :25:02.
because it was 28 years ago that her mother won silver in the 10,000 | :25:03. | :25:08.
metres. She says she does not feel any pressure going out there. She | :25:09. | :25:11.
really just wanted to make the final and really wants to enjoy it. He | :25:12. | :25:15.
came fifth in the heat and now does question of going out, running a | :25:16. | :25:19.
strong, good race and just enjoying her Olympic experience. | :25:20. | :25:24.
Given around many venues at the Olympic Stadium. The crowds haven't | :25:25. | :25:31.
been great but I presume for a Usain Bolt night you hope for a full | :25:32. | :25:34.
house? To be honest, the only time this | :25:35. | :25:38.
place has been rocking is when Usain Bolt is here. It was quite a good | :25:39. | :25:44.
crowds at a morning session but not as busy. Whenever he has been in | :25:45. | :25:49.
town for seats, SMEs or his finals, the crowd is love him. He's a star | :25:50. | :25:54.
that just transcends his sport. It will be busy tonight and because | :25:55. | :25:57.
he's going for that unprecedented travel travel it is bound to be | :25:58. | :26:01.
loud. The atmosphere will be good. It always is when he is in town. You | :26:02. | :26:07.
convince me. I will stay up late tonight. Many thanks indeed. Let's | :26:08. | :26:17.
head back to the equestrian centre. Nick Skelton in a jump. They are run | :26:18. | :26:21.
to the third rider. Let's take you live back there. The next two | :26:22. | :26:28.
riders, big, have picked up thoughts. So there were three riders | :26:29. | :26:34.
to go. As it stands, Nick Skelton has not been bettered so these next | :26:35. | :26:40.
three riders have got to go around perfectly to force another jump off | :26:41. | :26:44.
I think. My equestrian rules and regulations are coming flooding back | :26:45. | :26:49.
to me but Nick Skelton is in pole position and are right now in the | :26:50. | :26:54.
individual show-jumping final. At the age of 58 in the jump off. We | :26:55. | :26:59.
will be back with that on BBC News just as soon as we can once we have | :27:00. | :27:04.
some results. Another couple of medal prospects for Team GB on day | :27:05. | :27:09.
14 MBO. More history to be made. Great Britain's hockey players take | :27:10. | :27:13.
on the Netherlands and the final later. Britain have never won an | :27:14. | :27:18.
Olympic title in this. They are up against the team who won in Beijing | :27:19. | :27:21.
and London. That final is about nine o'clock our time. The super | :27:22. | :27:33.
heavyweight boxing semifinal. That semifinal is going to start the next | :27:34. | :27:41.
20 minutes. Team GB has been tipped to hang on to second in the medal | :27:42. | :27:46.
table. The company that has been very accurately predicting Olympic | :27:47. | :27:50.
results down the years has actually revised its forecast for Rio and | :27:51. | :27:54.
looking at the last three years of competition they put team GB above | :27:55. | :28:01.
China. They put the two countries level on 25 golds, by Sunday night, | :28:02. | :28:07.
but with more silvers, crucially for Great Britain so they would just | :28:08. | :28:11.
come out on top. This is how the table looks right now. 22 goals. | :28:12. | :28:19.
United States way out in front. That is it from Olympic sports day. It is | :28:20. | :28:22.
going to be much more sporty about BBC News including the final of that | :28:23. | :28:27.
jump of involving Nick Skelton but from all of us at the sports centre, | :28:28. | :28:29.
goodbye for | :28:30. | :28:30. |
