Good afternoon, welcome to the Crucible, one of the world's great

sporting venues. It is a pivotal day in the Betfred World Championship.

Some of the game's biggest names will be on these tables behind me.

Judd Trump and Ronnie O'Sullivan in trouble in their matches. Four

players are ready the quarterfinals. Well played, Alan McManus. Mark

Williams marches on into his seventh World Championship quarterfinal.

Marco Fu, goes to the quarterfinal, very well played. It is Mark Selby.

Made hard work of it, in the quarterfinal.

This is the second round draw, Alan McManus through after seeing Ali

Carter. John Higgins leads Mark Waldon. Judd Trump versus Ding

Junhui, that is our match for you. Mark Williams beat Michael Holt.

Judd Trump knocked out Ding Junhui last year at the quarterfinals, he's

hanging on this year. Ding had to qualify this year, he is playing

well. Could he win the title he covets the most? Mark Allen has

defined a way of getting back into his match this afternoon against

Kyren Wilson. The Englishman remains in control of the second round

match, taking an 11-5 lead into this afternoon's final session. In Table

Talk, we chat about nicknames was we will have a bit of fun with our Pot

tournament, Judd Trump smashed Ding Junhui to power through to the

semifinals. Such a different story this year. This is the middle

we were. After two frames of this second session, Ding Junhui leads

7-3. Another terrific pot. A bit too hard. Good pot on the blue. Ding

Junhui will not be getting back to the table. In it goes. He's on the

black. Ding Junhui leads 8-4. Got to the accurate. What a shot. It is

just not there. Ding Junhui now with the opportunity. 9-4, Ding Junhui.

This is really tough. What a shot. That is brilliant. Absolutely

brilliant. Ding Junhui still leads, by four. He has just managed to make

the angle. Ding Junhui is five frames clear. Oh, dear me. The story

and Judd Trump's evening. Judd Trump, still hanging on in there.

10-6, Ding Junhui. If Judd Trump is going to get through, he will have

to do the hard way. Had to come from behind in the first round, the same

here. Looking at the session last night, Ding Junhui was pretty edgy

out there. Even the winner of the World Championship has one bad

Russian. I think that was Ding's bad session. Judd Trump did not

capitalise. He could've made it harder, prolong the agony. Judd

Trump was playing attacking staff, the way he plays. John Higgins may

have closed shop, made Ding work harder. Shot selection a problem?

Attacking is great, if he can come out and attack an attack, it puts

his opponent. Fighting an uphill battle. Mark Allen against Kyren

Wilson, the last few frames were massive? Yes, unfortunately failed

to clinch the penultimate frame. Very unlucky in the last frame. All

of a sudden Kyren Wilson ending up for- four. People saying how did he

get out of that session four peace. I'm not saying he will coast, but

uphill. A bridge too far? I think so. Good afternoon, ladies and

world's 16, and a first-ever Crucible quarterfinal. What do we

circuit. Multiple ranking event winner, storming to the World

Championship final five years ago. After victory in the China Open

earlier this month, he will not be intimidated by his four frame

deficit. He is the ace in the pack, here comes Judd Trump.

Life here for you, Ding Junhui against Judd Trump. In the company

of John Berger. COMMENTATOR: Good afternoon,

everybody. -- John Virgo. The session these players played last

night was very strange. Chances coming either way. I felt at one

time Judd Trump had lost complete focus. It is a new day. He has a

four frame deficit. It goes without saying, Ken, he needs a good start.

Absolutely. In the history of the World Championship, players have

turned around a 10-6 deficit and many, many times. I think you are

right, I watched a little bit of the second session last night, Trump has

two improved tenfold if he has a chance of winning this. Ding Junhui

had a lot of chances. You know what it is like, Ken, more than most. We

have all been there, when you are not playing well. You have to do in,

hang on. The only reason it is 10-6, because Ding Junhui did not have the

best of sessions. He was getting four or five chances are frame,

which is remarkable that this session. We know Judd Trump is a

great talent. Can he produce it in this final session? Every day is

different. He could come out this afternoon, feel completely

different. A bit of confidence. The type of player he can reel off three

or four frames very quickly. He's up against the man who has come back to

form, Ding Junhui. Winning those three qualifiers at Ponds Forge.

Maybe those matches have given him confidence. He has been bereft of it

for quite a long time now thick. That safety shot is not good

enough, he wants to get back in that match. He was trying to find the

baulk cushion, did not even get behind the line. First chance for

Ding Junhui. Quite a clever shots, there. Always

have the red over the right centre. Trying to get over the red, drop

this one in. He can get on the black. This is a surprise, why does

he not just pot the red, and get over the black. You would think just

about the right side of the blue line. Probably will have to play for

the red he has just refused. He was absolutely perfect on it. He will

play for the red now, not as close to it this time. Playing a different

red. The bottom red of the three below

the pink pots. Taking his time, Ding Junhui. Obviously a little bit of

nerves creeping in. Judd Trump played a very weak

safety. He will sit and wonder how many Ding Junhui will make from this

position. In and around the black spot area, not many better players

in the world than this young man. Always going to be dangerous. The

Judd Trump of old may have played the pot on the red left of the blue.

That was the danger ball to leave. Catching that safety much to thick.

Unless he screws around two cushions. He will not want to play

for the middle and top cushion. That is OK. The red second down from the

pink is available. I think you are right, John, when he

gets in around the pink and black, the control of achievable is top

quality. -- control of the cue ball is top quality. Decided to play for

the red along the top cushion. You would think he was happy with the

angle. Straight enough, we'll have to play for the black in the same

pocket as the red. Needed a little touch of side. Would not think it is

a problem, pot the black, cannon into the left-hand red of the two

above the black. Nicely played. Three or four loose reds to go. Once

he pots the black year. -- here. He may be past the winning line before

he has so go into the pack of five raids around the pink spot. The

colours. To clinch this first frame of the final session. He would have

a five frame advantage. That could have worked out better.

He still has the red to the left middle. Still looking for a red and

colour. There you go. How many times do we

see it, one red away from victory. This is an unexpected chance for

Judd Trump. Can he take it? What a frame this would be. The cue ball

needs to slow up. Just going close to the cushion. Just about OK. Not

quite sure whether the red on the right-hand side of the bunch will

pot into this bottom right-hand corner pocket. It may go. Looks like

he is going into them here. Great shot. Brilliant shot. Wonderfully

controlled. Very easy to take your eye after blue, going into the pack

of reds at the angle. -- off the blue. This is one of those frames

that could turn the match on its head. Particularly when you are sat

in your seat thinking the frame is all over. Unexpected miss from Ding

Junhui. He forced the angle. Using all of his cue power. Getting on for

this red. That is what I was saying, Ding was in, did not want to go into

the pack, when he did, took a chance. Still should have got that

loose red. Would have loved to have been over the line before going into

the pack. Of course, that his wife a lotto players go in early. He left

it until the last minute. They could have break better, it is fair to

say. His heart was in his mouth, he thought he missed that. Getting a

bad kick on the red. Just rating up and going to the left side of the

pocket. He thought he missed it for a minute. Last night in the middle

session he missed some balls with the rest. Still on track, though.

We always have some big frames at the Crucible. Judd Trump and his

hopes to be world champion, this frame is a big one for him. Played

that one nicely. Catching the red half ball, so the cue ball came away

from the cushion. He may collect together for the blue

of the bold colour. The setup means it is so much easier to get on the

yellow. -- baulk colour. He played for the blue. That is all right, he

can hold for the yellow. The six remaining colours, for an

unbelievable steel. Yes, what a frame descriptor into the. Ding

Junhui will be reading in his chair, at the opportunity to get a five

frame lead again. This would send out a huge signal. Should clear from

here. I always think this is a clear shot, when clearing up. If he can

pot the brown, and get good position on the blue, almost a formality.

Needs to be perfect on the blue. He is absolutely inch perfect. He cued

that absolutely perfectly, as you said, John. This is fantastic.

Absolutely brilliant, so far. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. It

looked for all the world that Ding Junhui was going to take a five

frame advantage. He missed a red in the middle. It needed to be cleaned

up, Judd Trump kept himself together. What a clearance, now only

three behind, 10-7, Ding Junhui. We said at the start of the

programme we were expecting high quality snooker, that is what we

got. Interesting, I saw Ding coming from the practice room into the

arena, looking apprehensive and nervous. Bad start? Nearly a

brilliant start. The one he has missed, one of those things, you can

miss. This one is not easy. The fact he has missed, the type of shot

which can give you a very tough afternoon when you don't want one.

When you are in this position in the final session, such a pivotal day at

the Crucible. You want to get off to a good start. Just one miss, great

break after that point. The clearance afterwards, something

special. Especially the second last red, he developed it. Do not have to

play this, but it was missable. Very aggressive cannon off the cushion.

Guaranteeing position on the pink. Beautiful shot. Everyday is a

different day on snooker table. Regardless what we have said, if the

start of the session gets off like that, Judd Trump getting on a roll,

we could see a different Judd Trump. We have seen him come from behind

before, performing so well. You will be sick of doing it, you don't want

to play every match coming from behind. He is capable. The school

board changes quickly, he is a heavy scorer. In the match so far, the

shot selection leaving a bit to be desired. Not playing at his best.

The gets away with it, when he is buzzing. He needs to be more

considered on certain shots. Back we go, another important frame. Back to

John, and Ken. COMMENTATOR: That last frame, as we

said, certain frames which can turn matches. For all the world, it looks

as if Ding Junhui was going to have a five frame advantage. The fact he

lost the frame, how will that affect his confidence?

A long way away with the pot. OK, he knocked the black in. Did not really

get in. He has left him a half chance. Red,

up into the yellow pocket. Not leaving anything, not so much

pressure on this pot. It is half a chance. Does he stand back for the

black? -- stun. Nice angle, to stun into the red. He has played that one

nicely. Another clever shot. Purposely

screwing off the cluster. Bringing plenty of reds into play. He should

just concentrate on good cue ball control, picking off the loose reds.

Just about on the red into the left corner. He will be back on the

black, I would have thought. He has lost the cue ball. The only upside,

he has an angle on the black. Needs a good pot. Good cueing. And he got

it. Excellent shot. You can tell the difference, Jat

already has more spring in his step. -- Judd Trump. Just a bit short of

pace to be top side of the blue. Pretty careless, the yellow was sort

of in the way. We'll have to avoid the yellow.

She needs to slow -- he needs to slow. Finished in no man's land.

That is the problem is when the cue ball is travelling, very hard to

judge the correct speed. Cut to the middle, is it? To send. -- thin.

That was a chance and he will be disappointed. Careless to leave the

blue. Straightforward red to the middle. Should have been on the

blue. He didn't play that very well. Went

up the right-hand side, which I'm sure wasn't the intention. Has

landed OK on the blue. Just run it in and play it to the opposite

corner. Straight into the pink to try and

keep control of the cue ball. Has played nicely. Couldn't have worked

out much worse, actually. Seems to hit the pink OK, but all of the reds

seemed to line up and cover one another. He has won the medal, but

this is risky. No guaranteed to be on a colour.

He is taking it all in -- taking it on. And has played it well. Just

about on the pink. One of the -- the pink came nicely

off the side cushion cover he wasn't on the black, red was covering that.

Didn't play to be on the pink, but that was a good pot, probably

deserves to be. Needs to get to 73 point ticket to

the snooker's required stage. Excellent chance now. Potting the

black puts him ten points behind. If you mix of black with the reds at

this end he wouldn't need the awkward red near the pole climbing

-- baulk line. First chance, poor position for a shot on the blue.

Just ran out of position, Mr Trickey read to the middle -- missed at

tricky. Might have cost him this frame. What impetus he got from the

first one of this session might have gone now.

I'm not sure if he has looked at the scoreboard yet, but after potting

this pink he is 12 ahead. He needs three reds and three blacks,

basically, to put himself 26 points ahead with 35 left in the table. He

has made a mistake. He hasn't looked at the scoreboard at all. And he's

going to need that all red now. That could make a difference. He has

looked at the score now, but still hasn't registered with him. If he

takes to read and to blacks he will be 35 ahead with 35 remaining. --

two reds and two blacks. He is short, he cannot get on the

black now. Judd Trump is still in this frame. He could put up for

colour and get close to the red on the side but it means he needs it.

What angle does he have on the blue, can he just drop it in? And Llanelli

side cushion? The fact he's looking at the pink means he doesn't have

the right angle. If he doesn't get close to the Raonic ocean it will

not be gimme. Has rammed it in. Will that cue ball

travel. It has travelled. This is a tough shot, particularly

when you're going against the nap. With any pace what's well read me

the pot -- whatsoever it makes the pot much more difficult. If he tries

to roll it in it will stay in the jaws of the pocket. Very good. Made

it a very confidently, didn't he? Knew it was frame ball and fully

committed to it. Every credit. He has missed that. 35 points to

lead, 27 remaining. Two snookers to tie for Judd Trump.

Maybe a chance here for snooker. That line of pink, black and blue to

hide behind. Certainly got the snooker. You

wouldn't expect him to miss it. I always believe in this situation,

you could pop the yellow but keep the ball on because it means you've

got more balls to get the snooker behind. This is another one. It is

not a bad one. Not bad at all. It gives you room around this year

alone. -- yellow. He could try and play it off one cushion and might

even come off the side cushion or Bob cushion and try hits the yellow

from the back of it. He might have gone around it. Has he? Very close.

Too much pace on that. playing snooker is you must get

on your own game, you never know what can come your way. That was the

thing with Judd last night. Seems to lose some focus.

There is the red ball going? I don't know if he thought it was a

possibility to go in the middle. They are all big frames now,

obviously, particularly for Judd Trump with Ding Junhui being two

frames away from a place in the quarterfinal. Judd Trump cannot take

too many risks. He has overdone. What has he left? I think he is OK.

That red went very close to the right middle. This part left-centre,

I think he's looking at it. He needs this cue ball tied to the top

cushion. A bit of pressure on this, read over the right-centre waiting

if he should miss. Straight in the there. No problem whatsoever.

Just noticing to the right of the red he's playing looks like there is

a plant on here for this corner. Those two rents adjacent to the

middle pockets, it looks like a plant to me. At late opportunity. --

reds. Well, he didn't need that Harun Khan

has left the cue ball close. You wouldn't expect him to miss the

blue. -- didn't need that cannon. Doesn't have to do much with the cue

ball. Read over the centre pocket. Those two raids were plant to the

right of the plant pot as well. Just mind the cue ball.

first frame, he has held himself together very well. Looks very

going out of the bed freed World Snooker Championship because Ding

Junhui issued one of frame away from place in the final.

It looks like we will have a situation where the safety was at

the top end of the table and with Judd digging in as he was, you could

never guarantee a good white. Particularly you can see the butt of

the cue in the air, there wasn't much room between the cue ball and

cushion, which is why he rated in the air and you don't have as much

control the ball. What did as the player 's followers, watch it as the

cue ball pounces and hits the top cushion, but of course does few

little inches and makes the pot so much easier for doing. Still

pressure, but right in the centre and went on to make the wonderful

break. There would be a mid-session interval after this frame. Judd

Trump, of course, has got to win it and he has got to win the next six

frames to keep his World Championship hopes alive.

Wonderful. He looks full of confidence now.

That wasn't one of his best. This was a lovely red keystroke in. And

his hand never moved off the cue, kept it so still all the way. Has

got an angle on the black, but tough to generate enough power from this

to split some reds from the pack. We'll need all of his cue power.

It was very tough. It was a big ask to get those reds to open up. He was

having to force the angle. You don't get the pace in the cue ball that

you needed. Playing a difficult shot, he cannot

afford to keep believing these opportunities because the way it

looks, Ding Junhui will take every opportunity.

You say that, it is funny, isn't it? I didn't expect him to miss that.

Will this red stop and be available? I think it may just past the black.

Good shot from first rack. Forget the scoreboard, just play one shot

at a time and see where it gets you. I couldn't agree more. Just one shot

and one frame at a time, as long as you're at the table your opponent

can do nothing about it. Needs a bit of luck, I don't think he has got

it. Dented the pack with a lot of pace, but I don't think he is on

anything. Surely he has got to place a -- to play safe, you got to try

and keep your hopes alive and not take too many risks. You never know

what can happen. There has been some unbelievable comebacks over the

years. What was it that time? Loser Thorburn was losing Nigel Bond 9-2

and Nigel came back and beat Cliff Thorburn ten - nine. Never give up.

Let the other man beat you, don't beat yourself.

Good one out there. Not good on the colour. Played it as the shot for

nothing. He is getting the cue ball cleaned, that would indicate he will

not rule up behind the yellow, he will take the brown on.

No. Well, it was risky. I think he has sought, pot the brown, this is

the chance of frame and match. Judd Trump is to make the most of this

opportunity. -- has two. Of course, with the black out of

commission, he has to concentrate on pink and blue. He has to stay

focused, as I say, stay in the moment.

He has together to 65. Then snooker's required. He will

concentrate on these three red in the line. Then the red on the left

and cushion and right-hand cushion. Don't think the red next to the

black pots into the left-hand pocket.

Showing a bit of grit. True grit. Well, we will be having the

mid-session interval after this. OK he will be four frames adrift, but

he showed he was up for the fight. If he gets the chance, he will make

Ding Junhui make another visit. 15 points, the lead. 43 remaining. --

50 points. Sorry, 35 remaining. Very surprised Ding Junhui is carrying

on. Very surprised. Maybe like me, he mistook the brown

at this end for the red. Where has the brown gone?

Well, always the chance... Ding Junhui says that is enough. Judd

Trump takes it. He has shown true grit, could have done with a bit

more of that last night. Today he has come out, if he gets a chance,

he will push Ding Junhui. But he is one frame away, Ding Junhui. A big

ask for Judd Trump, but you never know.

STUDIO: You are right, you never know. Fair play to Judd Trump,

staring defeat in the face. Looking at going out in the World

Championship, to come up with a frame like that, fair play. It is

last chance saloon, it is not a forlorn hope. I was 12-8 up,

thinking I was in the next round, about an hour and a half later I was

going home. I think we have that in the archive. I still have not

recovered. It can happen. They've to Judd Trump, not sure whether he will

take to Twitter, he has a habit of tweeting during the interval. He has

player not to be winning this event. He is showing the form that could

We have had a lot of things to talk about during the mid-session

interval over the last week. We talked to bury Bernabeu well snooker

-- talk to Barry Hearn about well snooker, Twitter. And the man

responsible for giving players' nicknames. It appears to be a

snooker player today, you have to have a nickname. Five times champion

the world, the Rocket, Ronnie O'Sullivan. The accounts Kyren

Wilson the Warrior. The Jester from Leicester, Mark Selby. It is good

for the sport. It is great. We have to get the message on to Barry

Hearn, shirts with nicknames on the back. People call it sticks and

stones, good or bad. Happy or stuck with it, not sure what to say. It is

what it is. Here comes Mark, the Pistol, Allen. I understand why they

call me, I'm quick on the table. Coming from Northern Ireland, being

called the Pistol, does not go down too well. He has come up with a lot

of the players names. I cleared the table, he said he is like a little

wizard, it stuck. It is the ace in the pack, Judd Trump. One of them

have been taken up, little bit wasted. A bit pointless. We have

finally come up with a nickname for this guy, the Giant Killer, Anthony

McGill. It devalues the players love it, having a nickname. I am not a

huge fan of them being introduced. Please welcome the Ditton Dynamo,

Barry Hawkins. I could not believe it when he introduced me like that.

It is good, Rob is fantastic. One of the most laid-back character is the

sport has ever known. He will fire it up this afternoon, Mark Williams.

I don't need one. Coming out of something different. I don't really

like the Welsh Pot Machine. I don't really... May be the Welsh has been.

That is brilliant, I have just been chatting to him. He said you can

call me whatever you like, I have been around for so long, don't know

were saying where is that? The player we are having a nightmare

with, in a way, Ricky Walden, we cannot come up with a nickname he is

happy with. We had a little play with Marathon man, he ran the New

York Marathon. He said he was only going to run one, three years ago,

you need to let that go. In China, this is true, I would never use it

as an intro, these guys are trying to win a World Championship, but in

China, they call him the Meatball. Why? Can you tell us on live

television? I can explain, above board. His initials, when you are

using predictive text in Chinese, when you start to type it in, it

translates into the Meatball. How could you use that as an intro Chris

Matthews simply Ricky Walden. The modern-day players, you get their

names right, not like on one occasion when you introduce me and

at the mental blank. Steve, do you know what? You were so good about

the English Amateur Championship. There were some good guesses amongst

Trump has two claim no miss snooker. Highly unlikely. As John said, no

miss snooker, you expect Ding Junhui to get over the line. Ding Junhui

needs one more frame to get into the quarterfinals. Let's join John and

Ken. COMMENTATOR: If you are looking in

one of the few players who can rattle off frames in no time at all,

and that is what he needs to do, Judd Trump would be one of them.

Absolutely. He can win a couple of frames in 15, 20 minutes, no

problem. He needs to put this man under pressure. Cannot give anything

easy to Ding Junhui. If you're going to lose, make him fight for it,

don't handed to him. No, making win it.

If you take this on, he needs to get fit. Superb. Running the cue ball a

Needs the cue ball to run along a fraction. Look at the body language,

just about perfect. Now, is the black game to be very

available -- is the black going to be available? It is.

Red at the bottom of the bunch pots into the bottom right corner pocket.

He could play for two reds. For one of the bottom left the one can

mention. -- Ken mentioned. Wrong side of the blue, does not

matter. Why he was not too concerned. He has the red at the

other end of the table to play for. Interesting what choice he makes

here. The red I mentioned is still available. On the left of the think,

also. He has a nice angle on the blue. The referee stopping someone

in the crowd coming down the stairs. He has this red here. Another couple

of loose reds you can play for without risking going into the

cluster and bringing them into play. Certainly cannot do it now, straight

on the black. He just needs to judge the face of this positional shot. --

pace. I cannot believe you play for this gap. -- he played for this gap.

Has he found the gap? Previously screwing on and off the cushion. He

just found a gap. No. Trying to bend that. Just got too much side on it.

Straightening the red up. He has covered the red into the

right corner. But he has left this red, similar Reg to what Judd Trump

laid into the opposite corner pocket. Can hold for the pink as

well. Just about went in. You can see in the background, Judd Trump,

his eyes closed, thinking. I was thinking he was at the end, but

maybe not. This red closest to the cue ball, there is not a fool pocket

for it. This is very missable. If you are right behind it you fancy

it, but slightly blind pocket, very difficult. But he has played it

well. Nice pot and nice little cannon on the pink.

Still not ideal. Have just got to put this pink. You can play a cannon

on the red just above the one that is closest to the pocket or you can

call around the back of the two and trying to get the one that is

closest to the pocket and get on that one. Knocking it into this

right centre. Has played it well. Has he got lucky with the cannon?

No, you hasn't. Maybe the red at the bottom of the parent of three reds

at the bottom of the pig, but it is on that read, he has had a result.

-- of the pink. Absolutely. This rate is obviously onto the middle.

-- is read. Played it well. He has lost the cue ball. And is still 41

points behind. You've just got to be careful with this if you cash to

thick you could run off into the middle pocket. -- catch it. Miss the

pot. The question now, does this read past the black to the left

corner? Just. It just passes. It is one of

those ones, isn't it? That the black sort of gets in your eye line

slightly. Yes, it is one of those that if you are right behind it you

could not miss it. Going to pick the angle and trusted. -- and trust it.

Nope, that was the problem. Into a blind pocket. Never easy. I do have

to say, having missed the back and played it as he did, Ding Junhui,

fortunate not to leave anything easier than that.

Just scrambled in. The only hope for Judd Trump now is the red tie to the

pink, could it be a stumbling block? 33 points in it. Ding Junhui behind,

51 and meaning. Plenty of points to play with. I'm wondering if he will

play for the loose red or if he will go into the pink and red and client

told the cue ball and bring the red into play. No, not this time. A bit

surprising because he will have to play it off a similar blue. It

doesn't look as though the rest near the pink will pot. And it is one of

these shots that if you catch the pink film, depending on the pace,

you would just knock the red to the top cushion, you got to catch the

pink smiley, he is not certain to be on the red. Never certain to be on

the red when you play like that. And that grimace from Ding Junhui tells

me he can hit the red but cannot pot black to shots it -- but cannot pot

it. He should always be the one you have available, there is the only

had one chance with one red. The new plea that cannon you've got to play

it gently but can hit the pink almost quarter ball. Delightful

little short. Wasn't it? Yes, easy to hit, but can you get it safe?

Might just roll up to it and nestle in, guaranteed not to leave a pot,

but the only problem is he could be in trouble on his next one. Given

the initiative to your opponent by leaving the cue ball and object also

close together. It could be a real telling one. No. Poor shot. Chance

for Judd Trump. Very difficult cueing off that top cushion.

Definitely take it on. If he does take it on, he needs to get it.

There is a safety, send the red up and down the table, cue ball on the

cushion behind the green. Needs a bit of luck.

He has a couple of options here. He can take the red on into the left

corner pocket, but we can chip the red the left side cushion and back

behind the back, big target behind the yellow and brown with the cue

ball, but I'm not sure what he will try. See how confident he is. Would

you take this on? I think there is a bit of value in it, particularly

when you are 12-8 in front. Close, but did not get it. Has he flew to

the snooker? -- fluked. Not quite, I don't think.

There is a gap, I think. I don't think Ding can get the red but I

think he can hit it. He is coming off two cushions, so he cannot hit

it. He has hit it, but has left it, and Judd Trump, 21 points in front,

this red, pink or black to leave Ding the snooker. Needs to slow this

up and stop. Just in time. He was worried, I think that's why

he played at that pace, was worried about snooker himself on the yellow,

29 points to lead, 27 remaining. He is in control of this situation

just now. Ding Junhui using one snooker, -- needing one snooker, so

is keeping his hopes alive. There is the yellow ball going?

-- were. You got to be careful, this pot is very straight. Did not risk

of, played it dead weight, and it is there. That's no means that Judd

Trump needs to snooker 's -- two snookers.

You know in these situations that Ding Junhui is bound to get a chance

to win the match. He has had two chances in this frame and not be

able to do it. And that will give a little bit of encouragement to Judd

Trump. Certainly that will as well. It unnerves you slightly because

when you had a couple of chances you're sat in your chair for the

next round kicking yourself saying I should be doing my press conference

now I'm looking forward to the quarterfinal, can still in this

match. It is three snookers needed and is still playing on. It is not

like Ding Junhui to play on needing these many snooker 's. I don't know

if this is the Terry Griffiths influence.

If it will does God to et al- nine, he still has a question. -- if it

does go to 12-9. As he gets more nervous the tension will build.

Defraine carried on longer than I thought that he has won it on the

scoreboard. Ding Junhui walking out of the arena still needing one, but

still in it. Damon probably leaving the arena to calm the nerves

slightly. Judd Trump hanging on. Yes, John mentioned in commentary

Yad couple of chances to win it and you would think it is not panic

stations. -- he had a couple. If he goes in this frame and doesn't

finish it again with a couple of chances it start becoming

pressurised. What you think happened to Ding? The boys and commentary

that may be started thinking about talking to the praise when he's on

the finishing line? Even when you are up the finishing line is always

looming, there is always more pressure to that particular wind and

I know that really Ding Junhui has not played that great in this match.

He has played fantastic in the rest of the tournament, tapping a bit of

a ropey time even though the years in front. As to get over the line

and get this out of the way and then you might see him breathe a sigh of

relief. He has all the eyes of fine on him, as is done particularly well

in this event over the years -- eyes of China. It looked like he was

Gedion Zelalem track and experience wise he was getting to the stage

where perhaps he wanted to become good at it but I don't know, do you

think he still has the problems of the critical in his brain? He is a

bit like a Gold cup or two doesn't like Cheltenham. They are not

changing the venue, if you want to be world champion and you have to

win because of all. You don't detect a difference about him this year? I

do, and attitude wise it has been spot on in the matches he has played

so far. He is perfectly capable of winning but up until now he hasn't

looked like doing it. Judd Trump fought so hard in the first round to

stay in this World Championship by beating Liang Wenbo, can you

complete comeback of all compacts? COMMENTATOR:

That is the question. As you said, it will get a little

bit of heart to Judd the fact that he left a couple of opportunities,

Ding Junhui, and didn't make the most of them. It is not as if Judd

Trump has not been getting chances. As long as he keeps chipping away,

from past experience of being in that situation when you are a drop

12, you are anxious to get the chance and try and win it and

sometimes incentive relaxing and taking -- instead of relaxing and

taking stock of the situation and do what you normally done, you get a

little anxious, particularly when someone comes back at you.

I remember, 1986, Terry Griffiths was reading -- leading Joe Johnson

12-9 when Joe Johnson produced for the best friends I have ever seen.

What did he do? Went on to win it. That is what can happen.

We've always seen some sort of a comeback in previous World

Championships. But I just feel that Judd Trump has to sharpen up, he has

to win the frame quickly, as you said and has to win it in one visit,

he is not doing that just now. Expect Dean to get another chance,

couple of chances. -- Ding. That was a nice little nudge for Judd Trump

off the green. Looks quite and easy return to

baulk. Foul. Where has the cue ball gone? He has given four point away.

But no harm done. Good Bill yours shot -- billiards. Has got to try

and get the cue ball down the left-hand side of the table,

somewhere behind the yellow. It is pretty good. The reason that

Ken mention that was the fact to cut down the escape route down the

right-hand side of the table it is very difficult to get back to baulk.

Will try and pot his way out of trouble. What damage has he done?

Certainly a red available to the right corner. Maybe one to the far

right corner. Did not see the safety. Got down and played it very

quickly. But this is where Judd needs one of

those quickfire frame-winning contributions.

The cue ball bounced a little, took a bit of the pace out of it. Should

have been straight on the pink. You can see the cue ball bouncing before

it got to the red. Now his pot success has not been great in this

match. 58% is low. He needs it is to improve now. It is not too

difficult, the pink, but what makes it difficult as he has a little bit

of work to do with the cue ball to get position on the next reds, but

and do not take your eye off the pot. Has played it nicely. He had a

nice pot into this bottom right-hand corner pocket.

Cannot go for the pink, might have to go back up for the blue, doesn't

want the cue ball to run away. Needs to be tight with his position now. I

can think of a lovely low cannon that pops the blue -- pots the blue

and put the reds together. It seems perfect to me. Super shot.

Getting on this red just left of the black will free up the black in the

left-hand corner pocket. Certainly very focused. Lost it for

a while last night, lost his rhythm and everything. But it is not about

then, it is about now. You would have to say, he has left

and right of the back directly to two reds, one of those will port. He

gets rid of that one and to the left of that, one of those will pot. No

cannons or anything that could possibly go wrong. Just keep the cue

ball on a string. As to have tight control of its now. -- has to have.

Just that wonderful little cannon that he spotted into the two reds to

set up this break made it so much easier.

I don't thing you can play for the black, so we'll need another red

after this and a pink. He is inch perfect.

This is tremendous play from Judd Trump.

And that is just what he needed. A quick frame-winning contribution.

Now he will have to say two stay within eyesight of Ding Junhui.

The pressure will start to build on Ding Junhui. Add a bit of leeway,

12-7 up at one stage. All of a sudden, 12-10 and we have an match

on. The black didn't go in but that was

fantastic. He puts his cue on the table, his hopes are still alive,

the pressure will build on Ding Junhui. He is only one frame away

but only has a two frame advantage. The most important statistic is that

Judd Trump has won the last three frames, how important is the mind?

What is interesting is the scoreboard, see you no longer

anything of anger and have now reached double figures as a big help

psychologically, you think you have a lot to catch up and suddenly you

have to fiddle the board as well and he's getting very close, massive

frame coming up, obviously. It is also about Ding Junhui. He is one

frame away, how much lower can he sit and look at is bordered thinking

I have to put this guy away? He has the luxury of having a few friends

under his belt, but there's loads of different ways to get to 12-10 in a

match, it could have been nip and tuck and suddenly you go 12-10 up

and you're better frame of mind but he has someone bearing down on him.

He is breathing over his shoulder and that makes a different mindset.

He has got be quite mentally strong to get over the line, even though he

has had the majority of this match in his grasp. These top players have

met eight times and Judd Trump has beat Ding Junhui on two occasions in

the World Championship in 2011 and 2015, can he do it again?

He will be going into its thinking, don't miss the black.

That's the problem, pleaded with so much power he got the backspin, hit

the red and the black -- backspin took the cue ball into the pocket.

He hasn't left anything easy. I don't think I have seen anybody

screw in off the park from the black. It's hard to believe that

went in there but this is no gimme, as you quite rightly said, John.

He played it very well. Of course now it has gone in there is no work

to do for Ding Junhui. All the reds are open, it is just a case now of

holding yourself together. That's not the best short he has

ever played. That was a nervy one. He looks to be dead straight on

this. He may not be able to get out for the black off this. He may be

able to use the angle of the pocket but...

I will tell you what, he was lucky there because the red he played was

running along and if it didn't kiss the other red... I mean to try to

get this out, the pot was admissible. If that red Hat and

collided with the cue ball, it would have left it on.

Anywhere in the jaws of the green pocket here with the cue ball. He

might be having a go at this red into the right centre. Great shot.

Super pot, wasn't it? It was risky but it is in. Switch your phone off

please. Dear me, you are told. Make sure your phone is switched off. He

is going to power this yellow into the right middle. He has got to be

so accurate with this. It is such a tough shot.

I will tell you what, it is the messiest table I have seen for a

while. Just look at where the yellow has landed. It has knocked the pink

safe, the black safe. OK, there is one red into this bottom right-hand

corner pocket. He has got to play it with the rest, and screw back up

towards the blue. The easier red of course is the more direct red into

the corner pocket but can he find a gap round the back of the black? It

is very tight. Well, if he's not on the black, he's

definitely on the pink. Yes, he played the cannon. I think he

thought he was hoping to be on the black but he has landed on the pink.

Judd is sat there now. Just a double-kiss on the pink. Judd Trump

will have to sit there now and wonder whether he has played his

last shot. But it is not straightforward, this. Not to win

the frame at this visit. Particularly when it is for the

match as well. He could play not the one that is

nearest to the pocket, the second one in. He could play a delicate

screw shots behind the black. Doesn't like it.

He has gone back to it now. Played it nicely, got the black back on its

spot here. Just overrun slightly. Yes, I think he's feeling it out

there. Yes, I think he's feeling it out

Yes, I think he's feeling it That's his first mistake. Didn't

want to be cannoning into that red. He just had a look at the two reds

close together, whether they are planted to the right centre pocket.

No, no. Ding Junhui had a quick look at those reds, Judd Trump will have

a quick look. It must be close. Doesn't half to take the plant on of

course. -- doesn't have too. You would only take the plant on if it

was a certainty. He must think it is. In it went. Not got the best of

cue balls. But the pink should be easy enough.

Not perfect. He's got the red to the left middle but he will be slightly

hampered by the red that's on the right-hand side of the table, the

one he's thinking about playing now. Can he cue passed this red for the

red in the middle? It would make the pot so much easier, he is hampered

slightly. Good cueing needed here. No, that was tough. Not left

anything easy though. Very difficult, that shot, when you are

striking down. You just decelerate and the cue ball drifts away off

target. Obviously the red that is immediately left to the pink will

pot to the left middle. He has got a 35 point lead so doesn't feel the

risk is worth taking. Well it doesn't look as though there

is a gap. I don't think so, but Ding Junhui was lucky there. He could

have been in all sorts of trouble. You have just got to be careful of

the knuckle of the middle pocket when playing this. Need that cue

ball to run. It's not bad, it's not great.

Decided the pot was too risky once again. Just trying to protect his 35

point lead. Judd looking to see if he leaves the

cue ball tight against the Balkan cushion, and he needs to. -- the

baulk cushion. He has got it, and he is on the green. Boy, this boy can

pot. That was a great shot, he's going to need another one here,

John. Good shot. The thing is, that red near the yellow will be a

problem, but just concentrate on reducing your deficit here.

There is a chance to get right back in this frame now. And once again

Ding Junhui had a great opportunity. Looked very tentative when he was in

the balls. Two good chances he has had. Couldn't pot a ball with the

rest last night but it is different today and he has an ankle on the

black to cannon into the yellow and released this awkward red. It is

worth the risk. Oh Just didn't hit it hard enough.

Needed to catch it almost quarter ball.

He miscued. It's OK, it is not a foul though. He was trying to screw

that cue ball in tight behind the LO. If he had have done, it would

have been a real telling shot. But as you say, no foul and safe enough.

Just 16 points in front now, Ding Junhui. Watch the double-kiss. He

just managed to avoid it. He has got into a lot of trouble

here. Very difficult to return to baulk here. He may have to take this

red on. He can try and clip the outside of it, will need lots of

left-hand side to try to bring the cue ball back into baulk but there

is also the chance of the double-kiss and the red going over

the left-hand pocket. Well, I have seen Judd Trump now for many years

and I think you get this type of situation where he doesn't feel like

he can get safe, even with the cue ball on the top cushion he would

leave a pot on. I think he is eyeing this shot. It will be the shot of

the match if he knocks it in. Now he needs a bit of luck. Now he needs a

lot of luck. He has got it, John. He has got it.

Ding walked to the table there, looked at the audience, and a little

smile! Does this red above the pink pass the yellow? He has had a look.

It just about passes the yellow but not a full pocket. It looks like he

may eat playing it to the right corner. -- may be playing it. So

close. Now, can Judd get past the LO to play the red? He might be able

to. He can't. We say this game is all about fractions. To be fair,

Judd was lucky when he went for that attempted pot. He could still play

the red to the right middle here. I think the only red he could leave

was the one he was playing, I know it is a tough part.

-- tough pot. Not quite. He is unlucky, he got a kick on that.

Watch the red ball, it just jumps. Oh, yes. Ding Junhui trying to stun

cross, cannon the yellow. That is an opportunity to get Judd in trouble.

He is still having to wait for that frame and match winning chance,

having missed a good one early on in the frame. But this is a tough

safety for Judd Trump. And he has got to get it safe.

That could be the end. If this red passes the green, 16 points the

lead, he will need three reds. It looks a formality at this stage

of the match. Take nothing for granted.

Judd Trump will be sat there thinking he has played his last shot

in this year's Betfred World Championship.

This is his only hope, Judd Trump's. Yes, it is just this red amber

colour. And surely he books his place in the quarterfinal. And

disappointment for Judd Trump. This pink will put Ding Junhui 32

points in front, with just 27 remaining.

No heroine swept that one. If he can hit the yellow fall in the face, he

will snooker Judd Trump. -- full in the face. So, barring two snookers,

Ding Junhui is in the quarterfinal. That could be the end, particularly

hitting the bark. And now Judd is going to hang in there but it looks

all over, bar the shouting. Judd had a tremendous performance in his

first-round match when he was against another Chinese player Liang

Wenbo, but he has not played his best. I don't think either player

has played their best. He has had chances. I think Judd is just going

through the motions. I don't think he believes he can get out of this

hole now. Nice little flick off the green. It

shouldn't be too difficult to hit. He gave it a good go, didn't he?

Came from 12-7 to 12-10. He is going to be tough to stop, Ding Junhui. I

know he has to improve his performance but if he played

anywhere near what he can play, he will be one of the favourites for

this year's championship. A lot of good players still left in it. Yes,

and this is the top half of the draw, of which we have already lost

Stuart Bingham, the defending champion, Neil Robertson, one of the

favourites. Trying to get in behind the black,

if he does it will be one heck of a snooker, but not quite.

A foul! It didn't reach. Ding Junhui cannot believe it. So there is one

of the three snookers. No miss called because we are in the

snookers required stage, but now we have got two snookers to tie.

Well, that could be a time afraid. A little kiss on the green with the

yellow. Yes, I think you are right. Last

year, Judd Trump got beaten in the semifinal by the eventual winner,

Stuart Bingham, and I thought he just begun to learn the balance of

when to attack and when to defend, shot selection, but there have been

times in this match when he has just gone for one too many for me and his

shot selection hasn't been right. At this level, if you are taking on

those risky shots, you need to get them, and he hasn't done enough. So,

Ding Junhui was in the wilderness. Well played, said Judd Trump. Very

sporting young man. Ding Junhui waves to the crowd. He was in the

wilderness, he had to play three qualifying matches to get here. He's

here, and now in quarterfinal! He beat Judd Trump by 13-10.

He will now meet Mark Williams in the quarterfinals of the Betfred

World Snooker Championship. He didn't play particularly well but

the point is you have got to get into the quarterfinal, that's what

it is all about. Not bothered, winning is what it is all about.

Judd will be going home. Neither player played their best but it is

not important. He struggled against Liang Wenbo, Judd Trump, he left

himself too much to do. Yes, if we are looking at Judd Trump as a

potential winner of the World Championship in years to come and

dominating the game, it is a tough way to play snooker to dominate by

just attacking. There was a time when perhaps he started to change

his game, but he's very aggressive amongst the balls. It is great when

it is going right but even Ronnie O'Sullivan and John Higgins have

different styles of play according to how the match is unfolding. He

would call it considered attacking. It is not with Judd. He was taking

on shots which were a little bit mad even by his own standards. Let's

hear from the winner, Ding Junhui. That was one of the matches we were

most looking forward to seeing in the second round. You have had some

big battles over the years but you must be delighted to come through

such a huge match in the second round, and in some style. Yes, Judd

is a great player to play with, and I had a very good start 6-2 up. I

tried to hold up and play like I can win every session. I did it, I made

it. There are some pressures coming later so I think I got chances and

played well, played good safety shots, some lucky shots. People are

saying the fact you had to come through the qualifiers has been a

good thing for you. You seem more relaxed this year at the Crucible

venue have been in the past, is that how you feel? I think I feel good.

When I feel well, I don't feel the pressures. At Sound Forge I played

good, the day after I am playing better and better so the confidence.

Are you thinking about the fact people are talking about how Judd

was using Twitter in the early stages of your match? Would you ever

go on to social media in a big match? Not in the match. I just keep

quiet and focus. Well done, you are into a fourth Crucible quarterfinal.

We are looking forward to that one, you and Mark Williams.

We get to see a lot of these players in practice and Ding Junhui has been

spending a lot of time on the practice table. Steve and John are

at the touch screen to talk about Mark Allen and Kyren Wilson. We can

see them here in the draw. The stats make interesting reading, after the

first session, it was 7-1 to Kyren Wilson. And look at these, total

points and balls potted. What you would expect. But look at the second

session which was drawn 4-4. What a weird scenario. Mark Allen with 540

points against 302 and 154 balls potted against 87 and he only comes

out at 4-4 and he must have been devastated. And there is one shot

which he played last night in the final frame and how unlucky was

this? Quite amazing. He is snookered but he is in quite a nice situation.

Kyren Wilson need a snooker. He is playing a swerve shot. It is a nice

shot. And he knows immediately, watch his reaction, he knows where

it is going, into the pocket, double whammy, the four point that Kyren

Wilson needs, the White in hand and the yellow in position. We are going

to show you the best of the action from what has been happening at the

Crucible, starting with the score at 11-5. Kyren Wilson is the winner of

the 2015 Shanghai Masters macro, and we join it in frame 17 at the start

with Stephen Hendry and Willie Thorne.

COMMENTATOR: Good morning, everybody, and welcome to the final

session of this match. What is surprising score it is foremost,

Kyren Wilson just two frames away from victory. Mark Allen won the

first four frames of the session last night and was unlucky to lose

the last two to make it 86 frame deficit rather than the 9-7 it

should have been. -- make it a six frame deficit. But Kyren Wilson has

played superbly and Mark Allen has it all to do. With me in the

commentary box is seven time world champion Stephen Hendry. What was

your biggest comeback in a best of 25 here? I think I was 12-7 down to

Jo Johnson the year he won it, I came back to 12-12 but lost the

decider. I have been further behind in the semis and final, in the

longer matches, but that was my biggest in a best of 25. That was a

fantastic long red from Mark Allen. He will know he needs to win the

first four to have any chance. As long as he can keep Kyren Wilson

within two frames, it gives him a bit of leeway. Even if Mark Allen

wins this session 3-1, 12-8, it would be a bridge too far in this

match. But you are right, Kyren Wilson is making a name for himself

in this tournament, I've been very impressed with his play, very

aggressive. The red behind the black spot is causing a problem, if he

played it plain bull he might kiss into it so he has a bit to do with

the cue ball. He has played across the face and that is a very good

shot. These sorts of shots, he had a very short cue action compared to a

lot of players and it is Parfitt for -- it is perfect for these fast

clots around the pink and black. -- cloth is -- cloths.

He just didn't get enough left-hand Czech side to bring the cue ball

back towards the black. -- check side.

Does he go for the black or does he attack, all out attack at 11-5 down?

It looks like it. APPLAUSE

Very good, very very good. You suggested it might be all out attack

this morning and a lot of players would have refused that.

And it is new territory for Kyren Wilson, a three session match and

having such a big lead. No doubt he would have been with friends and

family last night, they would be saying you have won the match and it

is hard to get those thoughts out of your head, that you have already won

at 11-5 with it being such a big lead. If Mark Allen were to win a

couple of frames first, the thought can creep in, what if I lose from

this position? But he does seem a very confident young man. Very

impressed with him in the session last night when he lost the first

four frames without hardly scoring a point but came out after the

interval and won the first two. He was a bit fortunate to win the next

two. But still shared the session 4-4, hence the 11-5 lead. This was

how he started last month, breaks of 122 and then 123.

As far as centuries are concerned, Mark Allen has had a good season

with 35 centuries this calendar year. An excellent chance of winning

the frame at this visit. Obviously the red passes the pink

into the middle. Three more reds and colours to be safe.

OK, he is over the winning line in this frame, we said that a couple of

times last night and he ended up losing them but that was a

horrendous kick, took all of the pace out of the cue ball. 71 in

front, put the black face, get a good white. -- put the black safe.

He is playing it as a shock to nothing, trying to pot the black but

get the white up into the baulk area. Very good. He did remarkably

well to hold it. Amazing shot. What a shame, that may have taken

the chance of a century away. APPLAUSE

No century break but a fantastic long red to start. Mark Allen has

done exactly what he needed to do to win the first frame and he still

needs the next three, trailing 11-6. Mark Allen on the comeback trail

having taken the opening frame, breaks off in frame 18. This is a

little short and Kyren Wilson will be taking this red on. And in this

championship, at just cannot believe the amount of times I have seen this

red, either side of the break off, being left.

APPLAUSE His long potting is very impressive.

He played that shot better than most players in the game. I would put

Judd Trump up there, Ronnie O'Sullivan sometimes knocks them in

and sometimes he doesn't but Kyren Wilson has potted so many of those

in his first two matches. He doesn't have the angle on the red

to play for the black so he will be going for blue or Boka colour. The

reason we say that, it is essential you go past the blue which is why we

say blue or Boka colour -- baulk colour. He is well past the blue

line which is the dead straight shot.

He doesn't have the angle on the pink he wanted to bring red

interplay but he has one more loose red so the pink spot obviously must

be covered. -- bring the red in to play. He is also very good with the

rest so I would expect him to pot this and screw through the reds,

coming back up for blue or baulk colour, as you said. But playing

this with a lot of power. The red near the pink spot will stop the cue

ball going toward the left middle so he can play this with confidence.

A little unlucky, as Stephen mentioned, the red was stopping view

cue ball going toward the middle pocket. If he catches it half ball,

he would have been up for blue or baulk colour. It looks like end of

break. Having lost position, he decided to

play the safety shot. Another fabulous pot from Mark

Allen. He put in a brilliant first red in the first frame and this is

just as good and he is nicely on the yellow.

He would love to get onto the red that is just below the black which

he is on nicely. He will play the cannon into the pink and try to push

it through the three red above it and also try to force the white

through the pink so he is on those three read to the right of the pink.

He forced it through the pink but not hard enough to get up for a red.

There is a gap through the two reds. Very good shot again, things are

going his way at the moment, caps are appearing. -- gaps. The blue to

right corner I would suggest here, virtually nothing to do with the cue

ball, just make sure of the pot. One wonderful comeback many years

ago, your friend and mine Nigel Bond was 9-2 behind against the great

Cliff Thorburn and he managed to win eight frames on the trot to win 10-9

so it can happen. I think one year Neil Robertson came

back from 11-5 down. It is very much possible. The more frames Mark Allen

can put on the board, the more that winning line will get edgier and

edgier for Kyren Wilson. You are not absolutely petrified until it gets

to 12, are you? As long as you can keep that cushion where he needs two

frames. Here you will believe he can win this match, Mark Allen, no doubt

about that. It appears that the pink will pot

here so he will run off the cushion and pot the pink. This is another

frame-winning opportunity. He made a break of 86 to take the first frame

and it is 42 and counting here so he is 30 points in front. Three more

reds, three colours look a formality.

That is frame ball and this is very good, he has played nerveless

snooker so far. When he has not been perfect, he has played safe. Kyren

Wilson played an excellent safety shot but Mark Allen knocked it in so

he cannot be punishing himself, he has done nothing wrong. As I said

before, he is a very confident player. No reason to panic yet, just

keep your focus on getting to 13, that is all you are thinking about.

As we just said, Kyren has done nothing wrong in these opening two

frames. He just has too wait for a chance and make him pay. He deserves

a century, the way he has opened up in these first two frames. Very good

from Mark Allen, his third century of the tournament, the 56th of the

championship. Mark Allen pulls another one back but he is still

trailing 11-7. STUDIO: 281 centuries for Mark Allen now in his career and

this is how he is doing -- how we are doing. Last year was a

record-breaking year with 86. We are just one behind the 2014 total,

incredible stuff. Into the next frame, Mark Allen to play and there

is no score. COMMENTATOR: He is taking this on into the corner.

There is just enough room to play a safety shot to nothing on this one.

APPLAUSE Fantastic shot. Brilliant.

Obviously the pink is available to right corner, I don't think it is

available to left centre which is what he is looking at. Not quite

into a position where you think he would be disappointed not to win the

frame at this visit. Obviously he has got it to the left

centre so that is a bonus. It is a decent chance that you wouldn't say

a certain frame-winning opportunity yet. -- but you wouldn't say. But a

player as confident as Kyren is, every time he gets to the table he

will be trying to win the frame. He is a very aggressive break-builder,

I love the way he plays, always trying to win the frame at one

visit. He never misses a chance to bring big colours into play.

That has not gone quite right. Played a stone run through to hit

the red a bit thinner than he did but he hit it sick and it pushed it

past the black. -- hit it thick. He is likely to be on pink or blue if

he pops this one. -- pots. I didn't think he would miss it. That is a

reprieve for Mark Allen. Yes, coming to the table but this is

quite awkward, the situation he has been left. The obvious red below the

black and the pink spot is a tough shot because he will be canning into

the reds to the left of it. -- he will be

Mark Allen will take confidence from the fact that Kyren was not able to

win the frame from that visit, he missed his chance.

Played the blue in such a way he was able to reach for that. Now a chance

of getting right back into this frame. He can get a sizeable lead.

If the pink wasn't where it is, he'd be playing a cannon. At least into

some of the reds at pace to bring things into the open. But the pink

being there, still may play the cannon, red and black, which he has

done. That was never a certainty. Still unlucky. We'd expect something

easier than this, he hit it at pace well.

He's possibly covered the reds up. Unlucky.

These are by no means easy when you are playing across like that from

the tighter cushion. Especially at that pace. Not easy at all.

Looks like he's thinking of playing the aggressive safety shot behind

the brown. Bringing the reds into play as well.

He has played to try to bring the black into play.

As we have come to expect from Kyren Wilson, an unbelievable long pot.

You deserve what you get here, that was excellent.

He's got that power game that not everybody's got in snooker. Trump,

Robertson, possibly, they have it. It's been a real topsy-turvy

Championship hasn't it, with all the top players going out, or with a lot

of the top players going out. Yeah, I think if I was Kyren, the way I

was plying, I would be thinking what a chance I've got here. -- playing.

I'm sure he doesn't fear anybody. Decision time. Might not get on to

the black, but if he wants to win the frame at this visit, he'll play

this powerfully, try to bring black and two reds into play, hoping he'll

get on to pink or black. This could go extremely right if he

gets it right in open play. He's OK, he's got the pink at the top. Not

easy. APPLAUSE.

Going all out attacking here. Good pot. 30 points in front.

Three more reds will take him to 12-7.

Wist when it looked like he'd probably got the frame!

Right hand side. Could bring the two reds into play or play for the pink

or black. APPLAUSE.

I know he potted the black into the left hand side pocket, but he's

rubbing the cushion as if it got a big bounce. Fortunately, it stopped

just in time to be perfect. High on the black. Can he try and do

something with the reds on the left cushion?

Really careless to have left that straight.

Sometimes you do get bad contacts in that shot when trying to force the

cue ball off two cushions. But it was the shot previous that he can

blame. Got to play virtually perfect

snooker, you would say, to get back and win this match, Mark Allen.

The safety is not straightforward here, either side of the red or

black. He'll have to cover the top of the table with the red, green or

brown. He's trying to dig in behind black again. This red could be

travelling loose. Don't know where the Ed is going to end up. -- the

red is going to end up. Oh, decision time. Might be able to

get the white back at the end of the table. But is it worth the risk?

What a clever safety shot. Knows his way around the table, this young

man. APPLAUSE.

Kyren appears to be looking up at the potting angle. But he's going to

have to get into the cue ball. He'd like to pot the red and leave the

cue ball where the red is. He'll have to play with an awful lot of

screw to keep that white in open play and not leave one of the reds

in baulk. Cleaning the cue ball. In the last

but one frame, Mark Allen was playing a shot and we didn't notice

it until we looked at it two or three times that it actually touched

the red. Foul immediately called and it cost Mark Allen the game but it

was the right decision. Sometimes the referees are criticised, but

they do an excellent job. Need the cue ball to be between

brown and blue there. Kyren's been given a reprieve. Not in bad

positions at this end of the table. Dodgy, that red on the baulk

cushion. Wouldn't have to play with too much

pace if it had a nice angle. Could go to the middle or pocket the

brown. He'll be buzzing inside at the

minute, Mark Allen, thinking, this is another chance to claw one back.

The adrenaline will be pumping. He played for the green but underhit

that. Perfect. Amazing, seems so much more

difficult when it's on the black cushion. Has to miss the kiss on the

yellow. Good idea. It was either yellow or

brown with that red. He may play more confidently and screw out. He's

done the more positive shot. Well done.

When you are playing with the rest, you make sure of the pot. Up to the

blue needed. Another frame. A third of the afternoon's play.

And the comeback continues. Another frame, two out of three.

Trailing 11-8. Mark Allen breaking off, hopefully to win the frame to

make it 11-9 at the interval. If it's not straight, Kyren may take

it on. The red to the left of the bunch,

can't play the traditional shot, red up and down, because the red is

there behind the black. Slight angle on this right behind this shot. If

this was two or three inches further off the cushion, you could get under

it, but it's tight when it's tough. Now then, this is a tremendous

chance to win all four of the morning session. Kyren had a little

smile and shake of the head when the cue ball kissed the red to make it

on. But I'm afraid when you miss that, you are entitled to leave

something. Thought he may have just played this

for the black. Gone all-out for the pot.

Nothing wrong with playing the slow cannon. He would push one to the

corner. If he doesn't get the kiss right, he'd hold one back. A slow

cannon. Very well done. A bit of movement going on because of the

interval on the next table. Excellent cannon.

Another nice shot. He does play the little cannon.

I had a short action. I used to love being in and around the pink and

black spot. Doesn't take the cue ball very far back. A lot of players

suffer with the cue actions, from deceleration. If you decelerate,

then you miss the pot. He take this is out of the equation. What a

wonderful chance this is to win the frame and the session. Three more

loose reds. I'm surprised the white travelled

that far. He's actually still OK. Straight enough to stun to the red

for the pocket. His heart will be pounding now, Mark

Allen, he'll be so excited to think this is a great chance to get right

back into the match. You would have to say now that Kyren would still be

favourite if Mark Allen won this game, but nowhere near what he was

before he came into the auditorium. He'd love the kiss the left hand

side red, or those four. Lovely shot.

He'll need the three loose reds to win the frame. He doesn't have to

risk play ago cannon unless he gets absolutely perfect on it.

57 and counting. Kyren's not made any sort of break this morning.

Great character he's shown, Mark Allen.

He's going to pot this and the red. Surprising miss.

He's shaking his head a bit there, Kyren. I don't blame him. When you

miss a ball middle pocket playing it slowly, you don't expect to finish

by the brown. A 64 lead. Still plenty of balls on, 75 remaining.

Zblusth Just have to hit this one thin see if you can get on the

black, that's all you can do here. Roll up to the four reds, dead

weight. Yes, doing a lot of head shaking at

the moment, Kyren Wilson. Needs to stay focussed.

Maybe a risk playing in behind the black here. As long as he gets the

pace right and he has to get past the black now.

to cover the red. Yes, it was a careless shot. The cue ball could be

Where is that cue ball going? Going back to the shot Mark played,

the only place he couldn't leave it was there.

What a blow this would be, as we see this careless shot, there was a lot

of margin for error there. Could have travelled another foot or two

and still be OK. Even in the other pocket, covered with the blue. This

would be the body blow of body blows, having lost the last two

frames last night. Mind you, that is the first sign of what looked like a

twitch coming from Kyren. And this red is going to be over the pocket.

54 in front. Look at the score board, he needs the blue or above to

leave Kyren needing a snooker. I'm sure that Kyren Wilson expected

to be having done his press conference and interviews and be

back in his hotel now, looking forward to his quarterfinal, but he

now has a battle on his hands. Should Mark Allen go on to win this

frame, would you still make Kyren Wilson favourite? You'd still have

to be favourite at 11-9, when one -- win one more and you are 12-9 up. He

is still strong favourite but whether he feels that in his mind is

a different thing. Losing the first four from 11-5 up, you are not in a

good place. But whoever he has in his dressing room at the interval,

he might go to the practice table, that might be the best thing, just

hit a few balls for ten minutes and get your rhythm back. He needs his

mind on the job quickly. He looks under pressure. It has to be said,

it has been a remarkable performance from Mark Allen this morning.

Kyren's pot success rate has gone down to 88%. And I think that's

enough and it is, what a great performance from Mark Allen who is

right back into this match but is still trailing, 11-9.

We are very lucky here at the Crucible because we often get big

stars coming to see us and we have the Masters champion, Mr Danny

Willett joining us. Great to see you. Many congratulations on your

performance at Augusta, little did we know that you play snooker as

well. Just a bit, I'm not quite as good, I still get beat mostly when I

threatening to do this for four or five years but little did I know we

would be having it with him as Masters champion, absolutely

incredible. How has life been? A bit crazy. I was supposed to have four

weeks of all year relaxing but it was a bit crazy and when Dennis

called, asked me to come down, I tried to get down every year and to

be able to come here and have a little knock with Dennis... He has

obviously gone for the new glasses, some normal ones! These are my new

range, after 30 years, we have the Dennis Taylor snooker specs. And you

are a new dad, how is he? He is good, first weekend of he decided he

did not fancy sleeping but hopefully he will be back to the normal

routine and I can get training again. And you are massive hit on

Twitter as well, you have a lot applauded this week because you had

some time off and you decided to go on holiday where? Scarborough! Where

else? Have you watched the performance at Augusta back? A few

snippets and clips, and you can see the ebbs and flows of the big frames

like we had in snooker. It was unfortunate what Jordan did but

luckily I was in a position to take full advantage. It is a great story

angle, I'm not sure he can miss the red on the cushion playing the pot.

Surely he is not risking playing through the gap. It is a few times

in his match against Joe Perry that he potted his way out of trouble and

this could be another. That really is tremendous cueing.
