Six games from the Ladbrokes Premiership tonight as the season

Here to usher in a sparkling Autumn of action, Michael Stewart

Aberdeen arrived in Ayrshire off the back of a massive

The home side struggling at the wrong end of the table

after a 6-1 thumping from Celtic last weekend.

But they did have one thing in common - both sides know

Perfect! Could not have hit that any better. Fantastic.

With Kilmarnock's hotshot injured for the next few months, Charlee

Adams takes his place in midfield. The return of Greg Kiltie sees

Nathan Tyson dropped to the bench. Aberdeen also make two changes.

Ashton Taylor returns to defence at the expense of Reynolds. The

inclusion of James Maddison sees Peter Pawlett are dropping out.

Maddison, playing short to Niall McGinn. Kilmarnock the happy to get

it clear. A good strike will stop certainly warmed the fingers of the

Kilmarnock keeper. Need to pass through. McDonald was

through again to thwart Johnny Hayes.

Rooney, with the chip across. Maddison is at the heart of

everything at the moment for Aberdeen. Rooney, chipping it

through, and Jamie MacDonald gets there. Well, Willie Collum has given

a penalty, for apparently pulling back on Maddison. But the keeper was

already fouled by the Aberdeen player. Rooney pubs Kilmarnock in

front in the 21st minute. It came in controversial circumstances. His

third goal in his last three appearances against Kilmarnock. It

is his sixth goal of the campaign. Kilmarnock, looking to get

themselves back into this. In towards Boyd, who is looking for a

penalty, from that challenge by Considine. He is asking questions of

the referee. Is that worthy of a penalty?

Nice bit of footwork from Maddison. Excellent defending by Greg Taylor,

to thwart Graeme Shinnie, coming in at the back post. But Maddison

certainly is an entertainer. It breaks the way of Considine!

Aberdeen have doubled their lead. It is Andrew Considine getting his

first goal of the season. A terrific volley at the back post. Not picked

up, and he blasted it beyond MacDonald.

Coulibaly has got three goals in his last three appearances, and he is

trying again. Well, curled that one in, but wide of the target. He is

another exciting player. Shinnie has done well, finding

Rooney. MacDonald had to keep his eye on that one. The sun is in the

goalkeeper's eyes, but he did well. Ash Taylor, all of the volley! The

central defender has put Aberdeen 3-0 in front. Good delivery again by

Maddison. Poor defending from Kilmarnock and an excellent volley

from Taylor. Dicker could not get it and Rooney

scuffed his effort. That really was a good opportunity for Rooney to

increase Aberdeen's lead. Taylor tried the pass back and gave

it straight to Rooney! Well, Adam Rooney could have had a hat-trick in

this game. But he has still only got one.

Good skills from Johnny Hayes. Can Adam Rooney finish this time? You

can! Aberdeen are 4-0 up. Rooney has

scored his double and his seventh of the season. Credit to Johnny Hayes

for the assist. But Aberdeen are now on course for their 11th successive

win against Kilmarnock. When you get beat at home, it is bad

enough, but by that scoreline, it is not acceptable. I take full

responsibility, these last two results have not been acceptable.

Some of the play was sparkling, our front four at times were excellent.

The two back full-backs and Maclean and Shinnie supporting them. What

was your view of the penalty decision? Listen, in my opinion, it

isn't. But we cannot change the referee's mind, we have to just move

on and we didn't. Only one place we can start a chat

about this match, what was your analysis of the penalty decision?

Simply put, it is not. Willie Collum has had lots of criticism from this

programme. I don't think it is as blatant as people are making out.

Jamie MacDonald starts spilling the ball before the contact. So it is

not that it is because of James Maddison into him. But the mad at

times you realise that decisions are made, look at the number of bodies

in the way, the referee can't see the initial contact of Maddison

coming into him. Now he has a better line of sight to see him pulling him

down. It is not a penalty, Kilmarnock fans will be extremely

upset, but I can understand why he has given that. Sympathy for Willie

Dunn! William Collum? Shocker. It should have been a free kick? Yes,

the initial contacts was on Jamie. Terrible at the back for Kilmarnock?

Look at this, a simple corner, not picking up and getting tight enough.

A wonderful finish from Andrew Considine. This is really poor,

loses his man, loses Taylor, never really recovers. Essentially, very

poor defending. The narrative suddenly changes in terms of

Aberdeen. We have the slow start of the season, suddenly it is

scintillating form? You see this man, Johnny Hayes, coming in. Look

at the gap that Rooney drives into. All day, Kilmarnock were really

poor. That holds the narrative of it being a slow start for Aberdeen, the

last two weeks, two results, they are second in the league and it is a

great start. , 's home form is horrendous, they tried to narrow the

pitch, shorten the pitch, they didn't water the pitch, they put

black pellets on the pitch, none of it seems to have worked. Has not

been good enough, ten goals in the last two games, not good enough.

They need to use the international break to get back to basics. Back to

basics. They will score goals, Coulibaly had Kris Boyd will get you

goals, but you can't defend like that. They lost to Celtic and

Aberdeen heavily and they have the international break to stew over

that? Not a great time to go into the international break. But there

are other issues that Kilmarnock. There has been a general malaise

around the club for a good while. Difficulty on the park, but they

need to get things sorted off the Park first before it is too late.

They are going to be struggling this season down at the bottom of the

league, they can't get relegated because they will be in big trouble.

Celtic had produced a magnificent performance to come away with a 3-3

draw with Manchester City in the Champions League

It was back to the Premiership this weekend, an away match to a Dundee

Dundee are desperate to come out of this slump that is threatening their

season. Danny Williams and Cameron Kerr will play as wingbacks, with

Kevin Gomez brought into the back line. You might have expected

Brendan Rodgers to mix it up after the energy sapping Champions League

tie, but he resisted. Jozo Simunovic replaces Kolo Toure in their only

change. Good effort! Scott Sinclair looking

to keep up this phenomenal goal-scoring run in the Premiership.

Wasn't far away. He has had such a good start to life as a Celtic

player. Good save. Dundee, really struggling to get

into this. Celtic have been all over them.

Lovely ball in by the former Kilmarnock man. Just nicked away by

Dunn! Jozo Simunovic. Erik Sviatchenko went down. The

referee not interested. Certainly a big call. Does not look like he got

any of the ball. Support from is a crowd for Mike Towell, the boxer who

tragically lost his life. Celtic, bossing the ball. They have

done all half. It came through to Sinclair! It was a very late flag.

Scott Bain saves. Scott Sinclair, just offside. Just! Bain didn't know

that and made the save. It opened up for Scott Brown, there.

He has been back to his best this campaign, too. Stephen Gallacher was

in Ryder Cup duty a couple of years ago, not involve this time. A Celtic

fan, enjoying the game. Yordi Teijsse heads over. He feels it has

come off Erik Sviatchenko. Wonderful from Tierney. Over from

Dembele. Well, would Scott Sinclair have been better served leaving this

mentioned the long, long waits for a win over Celtic forward and leave.

It could be about to be extended. -- the long wait for a win over Celtic

for Dundee. You can't say they don't deserve the lead. It has been utter

domination for the champions. Scott Brown's second of the season. Scored

in the first leg of their Champions League play-off.

Sinclair, and Dembele. It stays at 1-0. Moussa Dembele, two goals

against Manchester City in midweek. Brown has probably been Celtic's

best player today. Sinclair, there is Bain again. A

Danny Williams has been robbed by Griffiths. He did have options, but

when you are Leigh Griffiths inside the penalty box, there is only one

thing on your mind. It stays 1-0. We were in the game all the time. I

felt the players were terrific. We change the shape, worked really hard

all week on how to stop Celtic. We were brave today. We went really

high against them, a lot of teams would be dropping off. They did have

a lot of possession but never really cut is open. Naturally, there was a

little bit of sharpness missing from the game today, with so much over

the course of the last number of weeks. But it was a great game to

win, it was a professional win, good possession of the ball, we still

created chances. We only needed the one goal. I thought after that we

defended very well. A great victory for us. 1- 04 Celtic. Another three

points for the champions. After the highs of Wednesday night, how do you

sum up that performance question at They dominated possession, as we

knew that they would. But they were flat, for me. You can understand

that. Wednesday night, the ultimate high Manchester City game, to

replicate that again three days later is so hard. Personally, I

thought they would have made more changes. They made one, with Kolo

Toure dropping out. You heard Ben Rogers saying that naturally there

was an element of sharpness missing. At the top of the park, guys like

Leigh Griffiths, Roberts, Armstrong, guys that are going to bring the

sharpness to the game, I'm surprised they didn't get a game. Keep the

solidity and their continuity at the back. Change things at the front. He

likes continuity, Brendan Rodgers. Three Matt, how much did they bring

to the game? Not a lot defensively, but they can take positives

defensively. They defended well, they change their shape to three.

They looked organised. He touched on the fact they have worked a lot on

it in training. They have 11 men back in the last third. That was

emblematic of the way that they played. They struggled to get

forward. One lapse of concentration in the match, and this was it. Scott

Brown, getting the goal. You can see his desire to get into the box. He

deserves the goal, during the week was the best I have seen him in a

long time against Manchester City. He was excellent and deserves his

goal. Not only a lapse of concentration from Dundee, it is

more about Scott Brown's desire to get in and have an impact. The

midfielder from Dundee followed him, but he continued to move and ended

up getting on the ball. That is all that was needed. You heard Brendan

saying he just needed that one ball. Joking he could be a Number 10,

Brendan Rodgers talking about he could possibly be a defender. We

love a controversial penalty debate, nothing controversial about this? It

should have been a penalty? Absolutely, crazy decision to go

into the challenge in the first place. Erik Sviatchenko gets his

body across. Why he slides in when Shevchenko is going nowhere, his arm

goes around in first. He doesn't get any of the ball. As clear a penalty

as you're likely to seek. The linesman was in a really good

position and he should have seen it. Even if Cammy Kerr gets on the ball,

the best is going to get is flicking it a yard or two away, a crazy

decision to slide in, clearly a penalty for Celtic. New line Acra

how concerned should Dundee fans be about a lack of goals? It is a

problem, in the previous games they lost six goals, they tighten that

begin Celtic and were impressive, defensively. They haven't replaced

the two guys they lost earlier in the season and goals will be eight

problem for them. Ross County had drawn a blank

in their last two games - admittedly those matches had been

away to Hearts and Rangers. Could they get amongst the goals

on their home patch? St Johnstone the visitors in

Dingwall. After back-to-back scoreless draws

away to Rangers and hearts, Jim McIntyre has had to deal with

pre-match injuries to Davis and current.

captain in place of the now retired previous captain. Thomson finds

Maclean. Blocked by McEveley. It is still on

for St Johnstone. Liam Craig, and it fires just wide.

Well, eventually, St Johnstone managed to get a clean shot away.

He picks out Danny Swanson. It was deflected on its way through. He

holds his hand up apologetically to his team-mates. When you are in the

form he is in, you have every right to shoot. Third away game in a row

for St Johnstone. They have done not too badly on the road. And down goes

Chris Kane. It was McEveley's challenge and the referee points to

the spot. It was clumsy, he tangled with Kane, no doubt about it, that

is a penalty kick. Danny Swanson, against Scott Fox. Calmly done by

Swanson. That is eight goals this season. Five have come from the

spot. St Johnstone lead, three minutes before half-time. A

deservedly for St Johnstone. Ross County have not been at the races.

Headed down the right-hand side, and a great ball across by Jonathan

Franks. No takers in the middle. Greg Morrison, the 18-year-old,

closest to it. Nobody could get the touch.

Four without a win for Ross County. Three draws in a row. Those two to

away games at Tynecastle and Ibrox. Kenny van der Weg swings it in.

Away as far as Marcus Fraser, but the volley is easy enough for Zander

Clark to hang onto. More encouraging signs for Ross County in the second

half. They offered very little in the first 45.

That was long, towards Boyce. Certainly not happy about the

challenge. Ross County will have the free kick. It has definitely been

better for Jim McIntyre. He can't have been happy at half-time.

Ryan Dow's header, he must be the smallest man on the park but he won

the header. Making his debut. Tipped over by Zander Clark.

Wotherspoon made himself available. Great ball through to Kane. St

Johnstone have their second. A counterattack goal. Chris Kane

scores for the first time in the league this season. Precision

passing. Danny Swanson, and Chris Kane involved once again as they

were in the first goal. The combination works again for Tommy

Wright's men. They have a cushion now.

St Johnstone did win here twice last season, they are on course for three

in a row. Chris Burke's curling effort was

punched away by plague. -- by Clark. Well, Burke coming off the bench to

also make his debut. Look at Liam Boyce, colliding with Clark. That is

concerning site for Ross County fans and also Northern Ireland, head of

the international break. We didn't create enough of great note. You

know, a couple of dangerous crosses, but, in terms of that, it was really

disappointing. It was a disappointing day all round, the

injuries and result. It's not an easy place to come to and it is a

great start. We went to Partick, Motherwell, and now we have, here I

got three points. For St Johnstone, joint third on

points in the table, they have shown some great form away from home? That

is a great result, to get all three points. Last year, against Ross

County, they were unbeaten. For me, the man that really stood out was

Swanson. I thought he was outstanding. I know we have done a

package on him before, against Motherwell will stop but yesterday

he was involved in everything positive for St Johnstone. He set up

and scored a goal. He was excellent. He's adds to St Johnstone. We know

they are a real consistent side. Every club would want to try to

replicate that. But he adds something different. He has that

real creativity in a final third and he has been fantastic this season.

He slots away the penalty. He has made a big impact since he joined

Saints. This one is just a real bit of class. His composure, a wonderful

take and turn. The weight of the pass-through for Kane to put it in

the back of the net. I think he has a big future. Could be a big season

for him. In terms of Ross County, talking about goals, it's not going

well, is it? Asked weekly talked about how Liam Boyce, if he doesn't

score goals for Ross County, they don't score, and we saw him going

off injured? I spoke to them about the injury, hopefully they think it

is just going to be three four weeks. It is hyper extension on his

knee. In layman 's terms? He will be out for a while! I have had it

before, it is nasty, he is lucky not to have more damage. One goal in the

last five games for Ross County? This time last year, they had 17

goals in the league, they have seven and book Liam Boyce has scored six

of them. It is a goal-scoring crisis. They have injury problems,

now with Liam Boyce as well, somebody like Chris Burke will

supply ammunition but you need is a body to put the chances away? Of

course. Ross County have done fantastically well since McIntire

and dogs have gone in there. They are not stupid, they will realise

they need to get goals from elsewhere in the side as well.

Hopefully, with Liam Boyce not being up for too long, they can get goals

back into the side. The international break has come at the

right time for them. In terms of St Johnstone, they will think they have

chosen great form going into the international break. All signs are

that they are going to have another great season, we seem to say it

every season, but it is looking that way? It is no surprise. They have

the mentor now, the international break has come at a bad time for

them. Tommy Wright, he's never or down, you know, that is a good

victory, we move on to next week. He sets the tone of St Johnstone Mr

consistency. The Rangers Partick Thistle match

was overshadowed by the death of a Rangers fan on the way

to the game. A coach accident resulted in

the death of Rangers fan Ryan Baird. 18 people were taken to hospital,

where three remain in Our thoughts are with them

and to the family of Commentary on the match itself

comes from Rob Maclean. Three changes to the Rangers team

beaten at Pittodrie last weekend. Clint Hill, Forrester and Ghani are

replaced. Callum Booth and central midfielder Abdul Osman are back in

the starting line-up. On the attack, Wallace. Niko

Kranjcar lost it and get it back. Don! Niko Kranjcar pulling the

strings and tries the shot at goal early on. Never looked likely to

trouble Ryan Scully, this one. Ryan Edwards, looking to start

something of four Partick Thistle. It has been a promising opening to

the game for the Ajax. Azeez, can he squeeze it in? You

does. A looping header in the end for Edwards. An opportunity for

Thistle, right in front of goal. A tame header, in the end.

McKay slides it through. And very optimistic. Holt. Not a chance of a

penalty being awarded here. Corner kick. Flashing header away.

Back out wide. No great pressure on the ball but that's a good ball in

from the creation midfielder. Wilson wide of target with the aid of a

deflection. Into a good area from Cameron jar.

Thistle survived. Seeing plenty of the ball. McKay. Leaves it. Still

going. Great finish! The injection of quality that the match needed and

Rangers are fired in front after a difficult first half hour for

Warburton's team. That's given away. Waghorn. Halliday. 2-0!

And there may be no way back for Partick Thistle.

Five minutes before half time. Created by Waghorn, finished by

Halliday. Set something up for Holt.

Couldn't quite get there. Lawless. Erskine big chance.

Fotheringham. Looked as if it was going to slither under the keeper

for a moment, back off the post and scrambled clear.

McKay for Halliday. Lovely touch. Waghorn. Just a little bit too much

on the cross in the end from McKay. McKay's passesly intercepted. Losted

by Edwards. In from Kenny Miller and Waghorn was close and Holt is

thwarted by Scully. Rangers looking for a third goal. Not far away here.

Good save. Gets the better of them. Miller

keeps it alive. The block by Osman. Second attempt after Garner was

foiled. Miller scooped it up. Great block by Osman.

Elliott. Welsh. Flashes one wide. And it looks like being a black

return for Partick Thistle, 2-0 Rangers.

The 20th August last time Rangers won a league. You were there

yesterday, how important a win was that? Huge. I think with the

pressure that's on the manager and everyone else that's surrounding the

team at the moment, one thing that's going to get them out of that is

three points. The performance goes out the window, although they

dominated as the game went on. A recurring theme every week on sports

scene, it's Partick's inability to take the chances they create? Yes.

The first 25-30 minutes, I was impressed. Good areas and good work

down the left with Lawless and Booth. They didn't convert wasteful

things. Lawless with the second cross. Got nothing on it really

though. They pressed Rangers high out the park and Erskine caused them

a lot of problems. It came to nothing when they were in the

punishable area. Lots of skill from Kranjcar. Yes, It's what you would

expect from Kranjcar and what the fans have been wanting from him this

whole season. An individual piece of brilliance but it's against Partick

Thistle and he'll shine the brightest in games in Ibrox against

bottom six teams. Another midfielder for Rangers, Andy Halliday.

He was very pivotal in the performance. You see him getting in

good tackles, covering back. He doesn't stop, he comes back and

helps out in the rightback area. The simple pass is played. Watch after

the play breaks up, having a go at the rest of the team, not happy with

him. I think that was pivotal to Rangers starting to exert a bit of

dominance in the game. Again, playing defensive midfield but

recognising there is a chance to get forward. Gets the goal from this.

Fantastic finish. To me, he looked like somebody yesterday that felt

like he was one of the main guys. He started the season and again, I

watched Rangers a lot, he looked like a peripheral figure. He looked

like he felt he was peripheral, but now he's centre midfield dominating

the game and he feels like he has the trust in the manager back. Will

Joey Barton get back in the side? No. I didn't think he will. His

time's gone anyway, but when you look at the make-up and the mix. ...

Is Archibald under any pressure? I think he will be. They are bottom of

the league. It's not been good enough. We have seen we can on week

the performance levels there. They are going to have to start picking

up points. The other two matches have been drawns with Celtic and

Aberdeen. Hamilton the Kings when it comes to taking the lead in games

holding on to that lead though is the problem. Watching for us is

Alastair Mann. Hamilton make two changes from the side that drew.

Long womening and McMannm. Inverness undefeated in the last four. Caley

Thistle have won in the last six visits to New Douglas Park.

Almost had Matthews worried. He touched that over the bar. Corner.

McKay's header. Longridge was in the right place to sweep that off wide.

Couple of early threats there. Fire it out toe the far side. Another

bite at it. Looking for options. Comes to the near side. Gillespie is

waiting. On to the left foot, clips it in dangerously. Didn't get much

on it. And the rebound! And the first league goal for him. A fine

pass from Gillespie. He could do nothing to prevent the sliding goal

going in. Doherty and Crawford involved again.

Nice build-up. Crawford! That almost deserved a goal.teringmove from --

terrific move from Hamilton Accies. Matthews looked as though he got a

touch to it. The corner kick has been given.

Longridge. Defeatd by Warren. Draper. Should have done a lot

better, the substitute. The goal was rather gaping there.

Hamilton Accies just beginning to build up some pressure in the back

line for the first time. Here is Brad McKay with the opportunity.

Another half chance at least. McKay. Matthews takes that well. Hurt

himself in the process. Gary Warren was the challenger. He's

on loan from Norwich. Took it well. Clattered to the ground. Eventually,

he's going to have to be replaced. Robbie Thompson will come on to take

his place. Good header and terrific save from Thompson. The first thing

he's had to do and he does it brilliantly. Draper got his head

through it with some power. Instinctive save.

And there is the equaliser deep into injury time! Caley Thistle surely

have a point! The 50/50 fell kindly for him. Robbie Thompson couldn't

get down far enough to his right. Six minutes of injury time being

played. Is there a winner for the Accies? Crawford trying to keep it

alive. Caley Thistle come forward with Cole.

We can sometimes think it's hard work at the minute. Hopefully some

point many the season we'll see these games out and take them one

step forward and not go two or 3-0 up and win comfortably as well. We

have scored a few late goals now. I still believe in the boys, it's a

great finish. The recurring theme is how the Accies fail to hold a lead.

Seven times they have taken the lead and just once against Ross County

have they managed to hold on to it. What is that all about? Must be

driving Martin mad. For me, it's a psychological thing. They have not

managed to score a second goal in any of these games. Imagine where

they'd be in the table after taking the lead like they did yesterday if

they'd held on to it, they'd be looking at the Champions League? !

They may be top of the league if they managed to win all the games,

but yesterday they played a lot of good football. That's a good finish.

They are playing well, but can't seem to get over the line. You get

the second goal, you are able to relax a bit. You see more good play

trying to get forward to get the second goal. It just doesn't happen

for them and ultimately if you can't get that second goal, you are going

to run the risk and have that pressure building up. Seven times

though. That's the thing when it becomes psychological and you don't

get the second goal, you start to panic. Thinking about it? Yes. And

it becomes a big issue. Richie Foran deserves credit. Unbeaten in seven

matches? Yes, it was after the game where they got trounced at

Tynecastle 5-1 and he held his hands up and said I'm not getting the most

out of these players so credit to him to get a goal in injury time.

That shows a lot of character as well.

St Johnston Aberdeen and Celtic in those games where they have scored

so credit to them. He's got the same players pretty much. Is it having a

presence upfront? I think it's been a confidence thing. I really do.

Inverness have a quality squad. They had a bad start to the season,

confidence was affected and now they've gained momentum and

football's all about confidence and winning games every week. Yesterday

was a draw but the performance levels have come up. Talking about

the second goal being important for the Accs, yet another recurring

theme, teams are crying out for a regular goal-scorer? Of course, they

are worth their weight in gold, the guys that can put the ball in the

back of the net. If Hamilton had a scorer, if they had even picked up

half the points they've lost, they'd be comfortable in the top six.

Inverness arrived at New Douglas Park on a good run

of form that had seen them win two of their last four games.

The other two matches had been draws with both Celtic and Aberdeen.

Hamilton Accies, the Premiership kings when it comes

Some save by Hamilton. Great reflexes. Real chance to make the

break through. Pure instinct. McDonald. Great touch. And power on

the shot. Look at the touch from McDonald which set himself up. He's

in his notebook. That was a challenge the striker

didn't need to be making. Nicholl sovereign from the free kick. --

Nicholson. Given away. Hearts have the lead right on half

time. With the help of a deflection. Sampson was going in the opposite

direction. He'd no chance. McDonald's lay-off.

Great ball in. Over the line. But it won't count. McDonald is furious.

But he's also off side. It's a good decision by the

officials with Motherwell chasing an equaliser.

Patterson. Watt. Now Nicholson. In from Sam Nicholson. He got a hand to

it. What a chance, popping up for Jamie Walker.

Hearts look to keep it alive. Hearts take a two-goal lead.

Well on their way to claiming second spot meantime in the premiership.

McDonald looking for a way back in here. Great strike. That must have

been so close. Couldn't have been much closer to

getting heartses' third goal back off the post. It then collided with

Sampson. Could have gone into his own net. Somehow he was able to claw

assistant manager is capable of. It's James McFadden! And it's manage

fadden magic. It's a shame he can't celebrate

that. The game's gone for Motherwell.

What a special moment that was. 20 minutes in the second half, we

defended very, very well and couldn't break them down. I think

the 3-1 scoreline doesn't really reflect the game. We were kept in

the game by magnificent saves. Once the first goal went in, the pressure

was off. Three points on the night for

Hearts. How strong a win was this? Well

there wasn't much in the first half. Incredible save. A sloppy goal on

half time. The start of the second half, there were better chances.

Hearts were clinical. Patterson, that second goal he scored was

absolutely outstanding. Unbelievable finish from him. Brilliant for the

whole match. Driving forward, as we know he likes to do. Such a powerful

runner. Found himself in the centre forward position, three or four

occasions in the match. Probably should do better here. Over the top

of the bar. Here you see him again in position, centre forward

position, looking in the box to get over things. He never stops moving.

This is brilliant. He has the effort. Look at his desire to get

back into a top four. He's sprinting as fast as he can, gets back and

makes the back four up. That's brilliant again defensively. This is

a piece of individual technical brilliance. He's two-footed and to

put it where he did was just unbelievable. Pretty quick. Started

to get maybe through. A couple of big international matches coming up.

For me, Alan Hutton's note playing for Villa so... The thing is as

well, a lot of that, you look at Patterson and we know that earlier

in his career he played centre forward. Earlier in the season he

was playing wide right. Rightback is without a doubt his strongest

position. His athleticism is his main attribute. Hearts record hasn't

been the best, but a great moment for Motherwell. Poor night for them

otherwise and you are starting a position to get James McFadden back

in the Scotland squad? Only because he has 49 caps, he should make 50.

Maybe we can bring him on! Shame this goal meant nothing. It meant

something to James but... It's vintage Faddy isn't it? It's

inceebl. -- incredible. We may or may not see James McFadden in a

Scotland shirt again. I'm sure somebody at Motherwell can sort it

out for him. In terms of the international matches, Lithuania

coming up, Gordon Strachan says it's not a must-win match. He's damned if

he does, damned if he doesn't. It is a must-win game. I asked him that

very question. Scotland have beaten Lithuania every time Lithuania have

come to Scotland and surely if Scotland had any hopes of reaching

the World Cup, these are the sorts of games they need to win. It's

absolutely a must-win game and the reason is because the two games

after it, Slovakia away very difficult then down to Wembley. So

you have to take something from the game. Something - all three points.

The upheaval we see with England, Sam Allardyce has gone, how

beneficial is that to Scotland? I don't think it's going to be

detrimental. Positive. The big thing that's got

to be concentrated on is getting six points. Hopefully if they slip up in

any way, they'll be next two games a chance to get something at Wembley.

If we go into that Wembley game having picked up seven or nine

points out of nine, we have got to be extremely happy with that. I

don't think it matters Sam Allardyce is away too much. As a player, you

are never on the pitch thinking who your manager is. Gareth Southgate

will have them organised. But the fact that you look at Sam Allardyce,

he's got his particular style of play, but if somebody else has a

different perspective on how they are going to play, there is not a

lot of time to change that around. Top of the group after one match

played. Who do you think will win, how do you rate our chances? It will

be difficult. We need to win on Saturday first then hopefully get
