It is unbelievable! A spectacular opening goal. The shot is an

absolute beauty. A chance and he has got it. Yes! What a finish! That is

it. The force was strong with Scottish

football this weekend and fair to say it's been the most dramatic

weekend of the season so far. An early Christmas present of action

tonight, in the company of former Scotland internationals

Stuart McCall and Darren Jackson. We begin with Celtic's home

match against Motherwell. Before the game, the champions

unveiled a statue of their European A goal by McNeill. Billy McNeill has

scored. He was Celtic through and through. The right-hand man on the

park. He has been a great servant to

Celtic. Three changes to the Celtic team

which won in Perth. Kris Commons is in the team. Mark McGhee goes with

the team that beat Dundee last time out. There are three former Celtic

players in the team. That was spilled by Ripley. Up goes

the offside flag. Slow to come out as the shot was fired in from long

range. It will not count. Good work from Moult. Marvin Johnson looking

to do some damage. Scott McDonald was loitering with intent at the

back post. Still goalless. The flashing header. On the post

with the clearance. Bearing in on goal. He has knocked

it over the top. He will have some explaining to do to Scott McDonald.

It was up alongside him. Desperate for the past. Right place, right

time at the other end. The shot was deflected and in.

Celtic have the lead four minutes into the second half, much to their

relief. A big deflection on the shot by Bitton and that left Connor

Ripley clutching at fresh air. Scott McDonald tormenting his old team.

Louis Moult, 1-1. Celtic ahead for only four minutes. What a response

that is! Unmarked in the middle and a tap in.

Ainsworth is such a good outlet for Motherwell. Tierney tries to get

close. McDonald was twisting away and he

was caught by the Celtic central defender. Motherwell have a penalty

and a chance to turn this game on its head. He has scored already and

he has scored again. His tenth and 11th goals of the season. Louis

Moult, six goals in six games now. 2-1, Motherwell. They are in

dreamland at Celtic Park. McDonald threatening again. Celtic in

trouble. It is Moult and it is just too high. Away from a hat-trick from

Louis Moult as Celtic were struggling so badly defensively

again. Motherwell making them pay here. A chance for Bitton. Off the

line by the former Celtic midfielder, Stephen Pearson.

Blocking this gold bound the -- goal bound effort. Can they put the icing

on the cake? Saved by the legs of Craig Gordon. It could so easily

have been 3-1. What a day this is for Mark McGhee and his team! I am

very disappointed. It is one thing to win balls, chasing opponents. The

own goal and also discipline. We need more discipline when we attack.

We have played some really good stuff. We have had some great

performances. We have deserved to win the game.

A fantastic victory for Motherwell. For Celtic, for home matches without

victory. How much pressure is the manager and? He will come under

pressure, especially after the European results. -- under. When you

see Josay Mouinho losing his job, anyone can lose it. -- Jose

Mourinho. It could still be a good season for them. The last home game

at home to Kilmarnock, yesterday, the key is when they go 1-0 up, it

was a fantastic comeback by Motherwell. Motherwell thoroughly

deserved it. The Celtic defence has to be the most talked about subject

on the show this season. Another bad day. Bitton is a good player. The

biggest problem has been the two centre halves.

They lost two centre halves and they have not replaced them. Three of

them have just passed the front post when it is tapped in. The full-backs

have been given a lot of stick for getting forward that they could do

that because they are good defenders and centre halves. I do not think

Craig Gordon has been as confident this year. He was panicking. Just

long kicks and they have not dealt with it. Craig has not looked as

confident because they do not have confidence in the centre halves. We

must give credit to Motherwell. What a bid by Louis Moult has been. He

was 50 grand. -- a good buy. He will chase lost causes and put himself

about. He has physical attributes. With him and Scott McDonald playing

in and around, they have been a good partnership. You get balls from

Johnson on one side and Ainsworth on the other side. It is a good recipe

for success. This was last-minute against Kilmarnock. He slots it wake

from his goal-scoring has been a bonus. They are going well. You know

how hard it is for Motherwell to get to Celtic Park and get a result. The

last time we were there, we missed one. People went down the other end

and they beat us 1-0. We said a few weeks ago, they are 11th but only

six points off the top six place. Mark is getting the best out of

them. I think they can go on and finish in the top six. The Saint

Johnstone manager has talked of the possibility his side can break into

cause the chance to further that cause

when they welcomed Hearts to McDiarmid Park.

Chris Miller has not made it thanks to a hamstring injury. McGhee is

benched. The jam tarts without a win in three. Saint Johnstone pile on

the pressure. There is certainly a shout for handball. Murray Davidson

is shouting louder than anyone else. Craig's honour is headed for goal by

Anderson. These two served up a real thriller on the opening day of the

season when hearts beat Saints by 4-3 at Tynecastle. Hearts have not

won here in four attempts. It has not been a happy hunting ground for

them recently. That looked like a head-butt by the Spaniard on the

Saint Johnstone Number 10. Surely they will have to send the Hearts

striker off. That is what they have done. He is raging with his

team-mate and he has a point. Saint Johnstone with the numerical

advantage and they will be looking to press back home. He'd tried to be

a little bit too clever. Here is a chance. Cutting it back for

Davidson. Davidson surely has to put Saint Johnstone in front here.

Alexander committed himself and he is fortunate to see John Sutton put

in the header over. It is pantomime season and the villain is watching

the second half from the stands. Here come Hearts. It has come off

Dave Mackay. It is over for a corner.

First-time Sutton to Maclean. He is having such a good season. So is

this man. Alexander comes. He has got something onto it. Into the

grateful arms of Neil Alexander. He must have thought he was putting

Saints in front but twice. -- and not once but twice. There was little

doubt and a penalty. Maclean and a huge let off for the Jam Tarts. He

is he being a big sigh of relief. That is brilliant goalkeeping by

Alexander. Causing problems, on as a substitute for John Sutton earlier.

Saint know a win would put them above Hearts in the Premiership. --

Saints know. Still the visitors are holding out. Again, Alexander. He

will be the main reason that Hearts are taking anything out of this.

Squeezed in for Stephen Maclean. Davidson could not finish. I am

disappointed with the performance and disappointed for the players

that we did not get three points. The performance was there and we did

not take the chances. It is down to a combination of earth and a

goalkeeper that was inspired. Some great defending. I thought we

started the game really well. We passed it on the pitch. We got a man

sent off and a silly decision. It was backs to the wall after that.

Even with ten men we passed it well. 0-0, Neil Alexander Ring great form.

Can he have any complex question not I don't think he can, no. I

understand why he does I don't think he can, no. I

understand why he does it if you watch it closely, Wotherspoon goes

down and he kicks him in the backside, if you like. It's not a

great camera angle. He kicks in, he reacts to it. You can't do that. You

can see the reaction of the players. You can see more importantly the

reaction of his own players. That tells the story and I think it's a

red card, I really do. The big debate now, we see Paterson's

reaction there, the big debate for Hearts is do they appeal it because

they have the massive match against Tynecastle on Saturday, if they do

appeal it he plays. I think there's no doubt they will appeal it.

They've been in the position there's a loophole you can appeal and the

following Saturday. They may be need to look at it and if you appeal on

the Monday and they have the meeting on the to see if it's going to get

rescinded. I've no doubt Hearts will appeal it but it looks as though his

head has come forward. I don't know how much contact there was put his

head has come forward. Does that system need to be overhauled? It

probably does. If it does if you have the chance to appeal it. If

they weren't playing next week, playing Celtic, they probably

wouldn't appeal it because it looks... But if you can appeal it

and it gets put back another week then you will do it because if there

is a loophole to do it. Teams have done it against us and we have done

it ourselves. Coming up, we'll see how an in-form

Partick Thistle got on at home to Ross County, but first

Paul Mitchell has the story of Dundee's clash

at home to Hamilton. Paul Hartley's preparation was

focused on Dundee starting the match quickly. They aimed to dictate the

tempo and rarely can a manager has seen his aspirations exceeded so

rapidly. Hemmings nipped in past McGovern to score the opening goal

after just five minutes. The culprit's header was short, the

goalkeeper stranded and Hemmings opened the scoring. Hamilton

struggled to get into the game. Hemmings this time showing a

delicate touch to set up Greg Stewart at the back post. His volley

almost perfect and McGovern saving well. Harkins opened the textbook to

display the perfect hold-up play and the perfect pass. His play only

eclipsed by the sumptuous finish of Stewart. In their run of nine games

without a goal for the striker. -- ending a run. Dundee were two ahead

and playing well. The third goal rapidly followed. They dallied

dealing with the through ball. Hemmings captives had to put Dundee

three ahead. It was a simple finish and the joy on his face was clear to

see. The look on the Hamilton bench was a bit different. The goalkeeper

on the defender not on the same page, rarely the same book, and

Hemmings had an easy touch the finish. Writers and commentators

struggled to abstain from the words Christmas and gift, they struggled

to finish it as a contest. Hemmings said thank you and helped himself to

a wonderful hat-trick. The defenders all over the place and the

goalkeeper rightly furious, as Dundee's goalkeeper finally had

something to do. The second half was a different affair. There was to be

no goals, as Hamilton worked hard to try to find a way back into the

game. Dundee were largely comfortable in defence. They tried

the long-range effort. Hemmings with a free kick at the end gave McGovern

something to do, but it was Dundee's day. The fans will be frustrated

over the last weeks and at the home performances but I feel when we play

we are a good team to watch. On our day we are as good as any. We had

slick passing today but we showed aside in the second half that we can

defend and see games out. It's miles away. There's very little in the

game, Whee in, week out, so little between the teams. If you are going

to defend and give goals away you will struggle. Ross County captain

Andrew Davis will have better days. He almost gave his side the lead,

but Cerny saves well. The blustery wind sometimes made the ball do

interesting things. Like allowing Jonathan Franks the chance to gallop

freely into the final third. Cerny flopping with the wind, the final

ball folk let Partick Thistle off the hook. Franks would have another

go. Nice trickery, and this time a better delivery for Michael

guideline, who wasn't far away. Early in the second-half Ross County

claimed for a penalty. The player felt he had been pulled back by

Stuart Brannagan. Initial contacts outside the box, the referee Andrew

Dallas waved play on. Partick Thistle had won the last three

matches. They got a massive stroke four of Lochinver search for win

number four. Brannagan with the cross, Davies with the unfortunate

own goal. He won't want to see it again, but a perfect finish. There

has been a huge turnaround in form for Partick Thistle. There was

almost a swagger, as do long dunked the crossbar. The ball would not go

in. The second effort, a fantastic save from the former Partick Thistle

goalkeeper Fox on his return. There was more controversy to come, as

Jackson Irvine loped forward. The Australian International continued

his run into the box before going down under the challenge from Osman.

Again, not enough in it for the referee. 1977, the last time Partick

Thistle won four top-flight games in a row. Pogba missed the target, but

Thistle hit the target again with another three points. A strangely

this year. It's really compact. We just missed out on the top six this

weekend with goal difference. We are still near the bottom. We have to

keep concentrating with what we have been doing, working hard and it is

paying off. Our players are frustrated and very angry with the

reaction after the goal and also the decisions that went against us.

We'll have a look at those decisions shortly but first of all, back to

Dundee's victory against Hamilton. The first win in nine games for

Dundee. The fact -- fantastic hat-trick for Hemmings but

interesting defending. Yes, Martin will be very disappointed and he

wants to stay on the bench, he could be playing after this. This is

schoolboy stuff. Terrible header back. But fair play to train

Hemmings. Stop, follows it in -- did not stop, follows it in. He keeps on

chasing. The goalkeeper has had a nightmare but from a Dundee point of

view that is what Paul needed, a big result. When you are not met winning

in so many games the pressure builds up. His players gave him a

performance yesterday. Absolutely. Jim McIntyre was talking about the

penalty appeals against Partick Thistle. What was your view of it?

We will look at them. The first one involves Jamie. Contact seems to be

outside the box. I think Islam is on his arm, possibly pulling his shirt.

It's the other side of the referee and he properly concealed. If he

pulling it back? It probably could have been a penalty kick coming.

This is more difficult. He is running into the box, not getting to

it. The touches in, that's a difficult decision for the referee.

The biggest problem is "System safe. Some referees will give both of the

penalties there. -- it is inconsistent. It is the

inconsistency we are getting. Partick Thistle have a new celebrity

fan. David Hasselhoff has been tweeting about Partick Thistle this

evening! Four in a row, congrats to my favourite underdogs.

When he was growing up in America he was a big Thistle fan. They ran a

fantastic run. It is 1977, the last time they won four matches in the

top-flight, that was before Alan Archibald was even born and that

shows what an incredible run they are on, what a turnaround at that

club. Of course it is, everything about the club, financially off the

part they are doing really well but they could have been the top six,

but they are six points of tense. He understands they are not clear, but

four runs is fantastic. It shows you the teams down below, if you go on a

run, how you can get yourself out. It was summed up yesterday, Dundee

won and go six, if they had lost it would have been tense. This will

have good lads in the youth ranks, it's looking good for them.

Plenty of Premiership action still to come on Sportscene tonight,

and we'll also be looking at the explosive Championship title

With Celtic losing, Aberdeen had a massive incentive to close the gap

at the top away to a Kilmarnock side who have been shipping

It was also Derek McInnes' 100th league match in charge.

Four changes to the Kilmarnock team beat in Inverness, 19-year-old

Arends Blane gets a chance in midfield and there a recall for

another teenager, Greg Kiltie. The absence of Reynolds and Andy concert

line is offset by the return after injury of Niall McGinn and skipper

Ryan Jack is back in the starting line-up as well.

against Hamill, than it was the backheel from Paul Quinn. That's a

really sharp save by MacDonald. On the ball, room here for George

McGuinness. He might have made more of the opportunity against his old

thick and fast early on. Derek McInnes's 100th game as Aberdeen

manager. Happy to have Jack back leading the team. There is McGinn

and there is the opening goal, inside ten minutes at Rugby Park.

Not picked up, McGinn, as he drifted in off the left-hand side. Uneasy

finish. Lofted forward by McGinn. Across goal from Sinead, there is

Maclean. Within a fraction of making it 2-0 for the Dons.

It is one-way traffic. McGinn, who made the breakthrough, looks to set

something up for Rooney. And it's his 50th Aberdeen goal, and its 2-0,

ten minutes before half-time. A lovely ball in from McGinn. Seven

goals in eight games for Rooney. Driving forward is Jack, sliding a

ball through for Rooney. He is round the goalkeeper, a chance for number

three and thankfully the player got in the way. There -- just listen to

the brewing for the home team. -- brewing. It is 2-0, it could have

been a whole lot worse for Kilmarnock. There is Kenny McQuade.

In four Jonny Hay is. Within seconds of the restart, it is 3-0. That is

appalling defending from Kilmarnock. In from Stuart Finlay. Applause from

the chilly fans for at least a shot in the vague direction of goal, but

no test that for Ward -- the Kilmarnock fans. Off the bench for

Aberdeen, Smith. Ahead of him is the player with the backheel for Logan,

and that will wrap up an emphatic win for Aberdeen. They have been as

good as Kilmarnock have been bad. Kilmarnock heading for the third 4-0

home defeat of the season. A great run. Cutting inside for the

shot at goal. Well, it's a positive for Kilmarnock on a day of so many

negatives for them. Every goal was better than the next one in terms of

quality, so where we have seen the real competitive side to a game,

scrapping and fighting for every little inch, the players lit up the

game with some real quality goals. Good travelling support, which we

thank them for, the last Saturday before Christmas and a miserable

day. It's good to send them home happy. A lot of angry Kilmarnock

fans tonight. What's your message to them? They are right to be angry.

I'm angry myself. I will stick up for the players on a couple of bad

results, but alongside the rest of them I can't stick up for them after

that. We've got to a position where you have to compete, stop crosses

coming in, make sure you are picking up markers. If we had done that,

that's why we lost a couple of early goals, and then half-time we got in,

regroup and start the second half and lose an early goal. It's

inexcusable. Exciting times for Aberdeen. Darren,

after their autumnal blip, how have they got back to their best? You can

only say confidence. It is the same players who won the first eight

games of the season. Once you lose one game, they have gone on a run

where they are doing everything wrong. You see the first two goals.

It is the movement in the box that makes the goals. It is the movement

of McGinn, of Rooney and then Logan, when the confidence is up, he is

bombing down. Just quality. They have got quality. If you look at the

bench and they have got quality. The two wide boys, pace is a huge thing.

There are some great crosses coming in as well. All the goals were good

goals. 2-0 at half-time. It could have been more for Aberdeen. The

exact opposite after the start of the restart. So frustrating. When

the ball back early if you can. A ball down the line. When the first

header. Pick up in the box. Great ball in. He is all on his own. There

seems to be a common theme tonight, defending. I think it is a bit of a

dying art. Do they want to stay with the man and the runners? So

disappointing as a manager and coach to send your team out at half-time,

let's get back into this. Inside 30 seconds and the game is over.

Inverness got a long-awaited home victory last week against

They were looking to build on that against a Dundee United side

who haven't won on the road since August the 8th.

One change for Inverness Caledonian Thistle. As for Dundee United, they

have made three changes. Rankin, Fraser and Erskine come into the

side. Paul Dickson knocks it down the line for Fraser. He has got the

Would you believe John Rankin is the first United player, other than

Billy McKay, to score since August? It tells you everything about the

run they have been on. It is a fine finish from John Rankin. They are

pleased with their work so far. Vincent should have scored. A really

good opportunity for James Vincent. A delightful cross and only he knows

how he has put that one wide. Vincent for Williams.

A lovely finish and it is the equaliser for Caledonian this'll. A

first goal of the season right at the start of the second half.

That was awkward. The Gowing denied by a terrific challenge. United

press for a second goal. A chance for Cali this all to move

in front perhaps. Off the line. -- Cali

United live dangerously. It falls instead for Fraser again. He could

not keep the shot down. A decent chance for United. Just a yard or so

too high. Erskine will latch onto this one.

Mackay, the arch poacher and former Caledonian

Thistle poacher. An eighth goal of the season for him, as John Hughes

pondering where a goal might come from. It almost came there. It was

Gary Warren off the bar. Inverness Caledonian Thistle staring defeat in

the face. Across was deflected. Has it gone

over the line? It has. An equaliser. It is the first ever goal for Lewis

Horner. Comes off his chest. Trying to clear off the line. He could not

quite get there. A cruel blow for Dundee United. I felt we dominated

the game for 90 minutes. There were bits of the game Dundee United had a

foothold. They scored the goals against the run of play. Really

disappointed with the second goal. It was self-inflicted. They defended

really well. Whenever they had the ball, they were dangerous. With half

a minute to go and a goal like that, it certainly hits you, especially

where you are. It would have been a valuable three points. A painful end

to the match for Dundee United. The goalkeeper was fouled in the

build-up to the equaliser but the manager was not having it, was he? I

do not think it was a foul. I think the player has just gone up. Very

unlucky. When you are down there, that is what happens. The goalkeeper

jobs and it hits the boy's jest and goes in. What have you made of

United? -- chest. We thought we had a good squad and made good signings.

We brought players into, and the players we had. But they are back,

no doubt they will get out the situation and stay up. The players

that are out, experienced players, more fitness. Erskine will get

fitter. I would guarantee they will get out of that situation. Inverness

continued up and down form. After all that, the Ladbrokes

Premiership table looks like this. Aberdeen now just a point behind

Celtic, although the champions Wins for Dundee and Partick Thistle

mean Hamilton Accies Motherwell four points

clear of Kilmarnock. Dundee United seven points

adrift at the bottom. To the Championship now

and the early game saw Rangers The Ibrox side still

leading the division. But Peter Houston's Falkirk in third

place, and aiming to have a real say At the Falkirk Stadium

for us was John Barnes. The Falkirk manager sticks with the

same starting line-up that drew with Hibs last week. Rangers make three

changes. For kerk are unbeaten in the last

seven matches in all competitions. He is looking for the return.

Sliding in goes Danny Wilson and the penalty has been given. He was

claiming the challenge was outside the area. He looked to the initial

contact outside. He landed in the box. For kerk are in front in the

third minute. -- for kerk -- Falkirk. He could not keep

it out. Knocked away by grant. Mackay! Rangers are level on the

quarter of an hour mark. Mackay blasting that one in. A bit of a

deflection. Doha went in behind the Rangers

defence. Falkirk, they'd thought for a second day had gone in front.

Offside given. He'd touched the ball, he did not need to. The effort

was going in. He touched it and he was offside. That is a hefty

challenge. He certainly felt that challenge at the edge of the area.

It is 2-1 to Falkirk. His sixth goal of the season. An excellent strike.

What about that for a celebration! Outstanding!

He has picked out Doha. A chance for another. -- O'Hara. The teenager

making his second start, so close to his first goal.

An excellent stop by the Rangers goalkeeper. It is to deny O'Hara

small. -- once more. Still battling. Looking for a shooting opportunity.

Off the crossbar. It took a deflection off the head of a player

to direct it on to the crossbar. Rangers are desperate for the

equaliser. Loverly skills. In towards Miller. Rogers with a fine

save to deny the Rangers substitute. Rangers have dropped seven points in

the last five matches. They do not want to drop any more in the title

race. Back to Halladay. Brilliant goalkeeping from Danny Rogers.

Excellent reflexive. -- reflexes. Well into stoppage time. Rangers are

looking at their second defeat this season. A penalty has been given.

The referee has deemed that a handball of Blair Austin. If

anything, it was accidental. A great save by Rogers! He managed to get a

touch on that and knock it against the post. Falkirk looked on course

for the victory. You cannot come to a venue and produce those stats in

terms of possession and corners and not get the points. We have got to

score. At 2-2, we have to say, we should have won that game. We had to

dig deep towards the end because we were holding on. We had to save a

penalty. Before that, we had plenty of chances. They goalkeeper made a

couple of great saves and cold one into the top corner. All the credit

to the Falkirk player. They earned the victory. It was a great game.

The referee is off to the Euro 2016 tournament. I do not like

criticising officials because I know how difficult it is. He certainly

gets the decision is wrong. His momentum takes him in. Maybe his

linesman should help him and maybe take a bit of time. He gets in a

position. Wilson should not be diving in but he does. It is a yard

outside the box and it should have been a free kick. This one, I'm not

even convinced it hits his hand. It bounces up. I do not think it is

certainly not intentional. The goalkeeper made an outstanding save.

Certainly a day to forget for the referee. A fantastic day for

Falkirk. Some fantastic young stars on show. They got a great result.

A fantastic results, after a body blow last week when they lost the

late goal. You see O'Hara, youthful enthusiasm. He will be devastated

that Baird touched that but look at his run here, a great run. Herd and

O'Hara, two centre halves, a great save by father. He will learn off

Baird because he likes to go along and come short and he will learn a

lot off him. It's a fantastic effort, a wonderful save. A

world-class save. I've met one of the directors in Falkirk and he was

talking about the young kid, how well he had been doing in the

reserves and he's giving him a chance. Mark Warburton points to the

stats, crisis, what crisis, although Rangers are dropping points. What is

your take on it? There's a few players who are not reaching the

peak they were at the beginning of the season, no doubt about that.

Obviously with hips going the way they are, they have the momentum

winning games. There's a lot of football to be played -- who Bernie.

They are losing goals at this moment in time which look a bit soft. Do

they need to tweak their style of play? If you look there, in the

second half for about 15 minutes Falkirk did really well but for the

last 25 it was all Rangers. They were creating opportunities and we

talked about father in great form, Rogers was outstanding, three or

four wonder saves. Rangers should have come away with something from

the game. It will be huge, for who Bernie and Rangers, they are trying

to get used to a holding centre midfielder and mark thinks the same,

they need somebody in there. Holiday is a good footballer but probably

not a holder. Can Falkirk crashed the party? They will believe they

can crash the party. It's a big ask but if you have the players

believing that. It will be interesting to watch.

With Rangers having kicked off early, Hibs knew that they could go

level at the top of the Championship with a win over Queen of the South.

Henderson, away from Marshall. He took a really good position.

Suspicion of offside, he may have timed his run perfectly. He didn't

time the header. Five in on the challenge. He has taken down

Russell, it's a free kick. Mark Millar sends it in. Mark Oxley at

full stretch. Try and get behind Higgins here. He has got support

coming. Jason Cummings, and Robbie Thomson at the post will gather at

the second attempt. Martin Boyle made the running to the box but
