Welcome to Magic Weekend here in Newcastle.

:00:43.:00:44.

Hello and welcome to St James' Park, where,

:00:45.:00:52.

for one week only, the home of Newcastle United

:00:53.:00:55.

It's a nice day out, everybody together having

:00:56.:01:08.

It's not been a great year for the football fans around here.

:01:09.:01:15.

But for now it's all about Rugby League.

:01:16.:01:21.

All 12 Super League teams are in town for the 10th

:01:22.:01:23.

It's a full round of six Super League matches

:01:24.:01:31.

all played here in Newcastle, with three games on Saturday

:01:32.:01:34.

including Leeds against Wigan, and three games on Sunday,

:01:35.:01:41.

The Super League leaders going into Magic Weekend are Warrington.

:01:42.:01:46.

Their opponents here, Castleford, your commentator, Dave Woods.

:01:47.:01:50.

Well, they have come in great numbers and they have come in high

:01:51.:01:53.

spirits from both clubs for this, high expectations for this game,

:01:54.:01:58.

and it could be one of the matches of the weekend.

:01:59.:02:01.

He is up from dummy half, and he is shown by Millington.

:02:02.:02:04.

Not bought by Warrington, but Castleford are beginning to make

:02:05.:02:07.

Stefan Ratchford away, and looking for support,

:02:08.:02:17.

and suddenly realises he doesn't need it.

:02:18.:02:20.

Opening try after only three minutes.

:02:21.:02:22.

Well, they are having a look again here.

:02:23.:02:31.

The video referee is being called for by Gareth Hewitt.

:02:32.:02:34.

They are having a look at the contact in back play.

:02:35.:02:48.

Roberts with the pass and if there was any contact,

:02:49.:02:51.

you would have thought it was Castleford running

:02:52.:02:53.

into Warrington, rather than vice versa.

:02:54.:02:54.

And once it safely settled into the hands of Stefan Ratchford,

:02:55.:03:01.

was there any impediment from Ormsby?

:03:02.:03:12.

They might be investigating that as well.

:03:13.:03:14.

Waiting up here for the dummy run coming in.

:03:15.:03:32.

He has made a habit over the years of scoring from that

:03:33.:03:37.

Swift, by Gidley, and reach by Kurt Gidley to score a second

:03:38.:03:45.

Warrington looked determined and Gidley was certainly determined.

:03:46.:04:01.

The defence is stern at the moment.

:04:02.:04:06.

The star of that recent Cup victory over Salford and Gale gets

:04:07.:04:16.

Wonderful step by Russell and support to his left by Ben Currie.

:04:17.:04:29.

And Currie will cover the distance to score.

:04:30.:04:33.

Ben Currie will put his name in lights.

:04:34.:04:45.

But it is Mattie Russell who deserves all the plaudits.

:04:46.:04:48.

Ten metres from his own line when he started it, and close enough

:04:49.:04:51.

to the Castleford line when he finally gave the ball away.

:04:52.:04:56.

Then it was a walk in for Ben Currie.

:04:57.:05:03.

Back to the inside, and Gale is going to go higher here.

:05:04.:05:14.

It is a high one, it is taken superbly well by Crooks.

:05:15.:05:17.

Off-loaded, Castleford keeping it alive.

:05:18.:05:18.

They have been second best for most of this first half.

:05:19.:05:39.

But they have put themselves back in contention six minutes

:05:40.:05:41.

Real air of desperation from these players.

:05:42.:05:50.

One more tackle is all that Warrington needed.

:05:51.:05:54.

Luke Dorn with the dummy and a plunge for the line.

:05:55.:06:09.

Real sense of urgency for the Tigers in these closing moments

:06:10.:06:15.

Here is Junior Moors with what is becoming

:06:16.:06:21.

a very distinguished handoff, these days.

:06:22.:06:25.

The off-loaded untidy, but picked up.

:06:26.:06:26.

It's two tries in four minutes for Castleford.

:06:27.:06:38.

And having looked down and out not that long ago,

:06:39.:06:41.

Gale, inevitably, will put the ball high in the air.

:06:42.:07:01.

That's a wonderful take by Denny Solomona.

:07:02.:07:06.

But the first cause, I think, is a try for Castleford.

:07:07.:07:17.

We are going to have a look again here.

:07:18.:07:22.

They will have to find very good reason not to give this.

:07:23.:07:29.

I think Solomona has grounded that safely.

:07:30.:07:32.

What a comeback they have set up now.

:07:33.:07:44.

Webster puts the head down and goes for the corner.

:07:45.:07:52.

Good recovery from the Warrington defence.

:07:53.:07:55.

Great recovery by Castleford, though.

:07:56.:07:58.

Mike McMeeken is up there, Mike McMeeken with the ball in one

:07:59.:08:09.

hand, and Mike McMeeken, well, he is in fabulous form this season,

:08:10.:08:14.

the back row forward, and a try that edges

:08:15.:08:16.

Solomona has got the pace and goes on the outside.

:08:17.:08:35.

The Castleford Tigers are looking good for the win now.

:08:36.:08:50.

Complaints coming in from Ashton Sims, but it will be a penalty.

:08:51.:09:02.

What is significant here is that, if Luke Gale kicks this, it is a 3-

:09:03.:09:06.

Little hand off again by the irrepressible

:09:07.:09:22.

They are all smiles, and they deserve to be.

:09:23.:09:41.

They have taken Warrington apart in the second half,

:09:42.:09:43.

in which they have scored 22 unanswered points.

:09:44.:09:45.

Moors the destroyer and Dorn the finisher.

:09:46.:09:47.

Can't stop scoring since his return and Castleford on their way

:09:48.:09:50.

That was just an outstanding second-half from us,

:09:51.:10:03.

Against a pretty good team, we thought we did a really good job.

:10:04.:10:07.

Our players can be really proud of themselves.

:10:08.:10:10.

We were able to flip again from 14-0 to them going unanswered in terms

:10:11.:10:14.

of points the rest of the game was an excellent performance.

:10:15.:10:16.

I thought we were dominating in terms of the way we were playing,

:10:17.:10:21.

the speed of it, I just don't think we exploited it enough

:10:22.:10:24.

With the opportunities that we created.

:10:25.:10:32.

We were hoping that we would not end up rueing that, and we did.

:10:33.:10:36.

We gave up some of that momentum just before half-time,

:10:37.:10:39.

and we failed to get it back in the second half.

:10:40.:10:42.

Really disappointed with that second-half performance.

:10:43.:10:44.

The confidence in terms of winning games like this where you are under

:10:45.:10:47.

the pump, there is a team battering away at you,

:10:48.:10:49.

and you are hanging in, I just think we have got to be better,

:10:50.:10:53.

bit more consistent across games, but I said last week

:10:54.:10:55.

after we beat Leeds, this team can do anything it wants,

:10:56.:11:01.

So there's a few attitude things that we need to keep working on,

:11:02.:11:06.

but when we are on, we are a good side.

:11:07.:11:08.

There were two other games on Saturday opening the weekend,

:11:09.:11:11.

Widnes against Salford and Super League's bottom side,

:11:12.:11:13.

He's got a bit of space to run into now.

:11:14.:11:32.

Kallum Watkins will bend away and touch down for the Rhinos.

:11:33.:11:34.

The whistle blows, and Leeds on the board.

:11:35.:11:37.

Willie Isa too strong for Zak Hardaker.

:11:38.:11:45.

More pressure on this Leeds line.

:11:46.:11:53.

Again, Smith to Williams on his left hand side.

:11:54.:11:59.

Leeds being ripped apart at the back.

:12:00.:12:07.

The replacement referee signals the drive.

:12:08.:12:14.

The replacement referee signals the try.

:12:15.:12:16.

Tomkins sets off towards that left-hand

:12:17.:12:22.

Still a danger, and it's George Williams.

:12:23.:12:25.

Gains a try, and Wigan are streaking clear.

:12:26.:12:35.

Got the ball down, and Wigan are flying.

:12:36.:12:50.

Leeds scrambling, desperate at the moment.

:12:51.:12:59.

More agony for Leeds, and the try is awarded.

:13:00.:13:11.

Ben Flower enjoying his Magic Weekend.

:13:12.:13:13.

A rare raid on this Wigan line as Achurch

:13:14.:13:31.

tries to shrug off the tackle from Williams.

:13:32.:13:33.

He might get there now, Mitch Achurch.

:13:34.:13:35.

Something for those Leeds Rhinos fans to cheer.

:13:36.:13:38.

Down the left-hand side, Oliver Gildart.

:13:39.:13:47.

A dagger in the heart for the Rhinos.

:13:48.:13:50.

Three times they have played Leeds here.

:13:51.:14:01.

Three times they have one, they are about to cap a

:14:02.:14:03.

Steaming through a gap, over on that left-hand side.

:14:04.:14:08.

They are back to winning ways today, and Sarginson

:14:09.:14:18.

Wiggin keeping up the pace at the top.

:14:19.:14:22.

What I said to the players was, it was a poor performance, but

:14:23.:14:31.

the way that they bounced back was outstanding.

:14:32.:14:33.

I am very, very happy with how they responded.

:14:34.:14:35.

The first 20 of the first half and the first

:14:36.:14:37.

20 of the second, I thought we performed.

:14:38.:14:40.

And we got a bit bored with it, but all credit to Leeds.

:14:41.:14:46.

When we warmed up, I could hear Leeds, very, very boisterous.

:14:47.:14:51.

They have still got lots of spirit in that club.

:14:52.:14:53.

They've got a competitive coach, a competitive team.

:14:54.:14:59.

They get a fewer numbered back, they'll be good.

:15:00.:15:01.

What's it like to be back here in front of a huge crowd and

:15:02.:15:04.

Most of the players like myself embrace it, the same as the fans do.

:15:05.:15:11.

It's an amazing event to have all the teams on one field

:15:12.:15:14.

And, you know, hopefully it keeps going and this venue,

:15:15.:15:19.

What do you say to the players after a game like that?

:15:20.:15:24.

Some harsh...information, probably that we don't want

:15:25.:15:28.

and we've got to come in one day and go again.

:15:29.:15:37.

and we've got to come in Monday and go again.

:15:38.:15:40.

Each week we tip our guts into prep, go through everything and I don't

:15:41.:15:44.

have any issues with our prepping or with the players,

:15:45.:15:46.

the effort that they're putting in, and we get to a stage in the week

:15:47.:15:50.

where we're in good shape, we believe we're going to win

:15:51.:15:53.

and we're going to give this game a go and well,

:15:54.:15:55.

Being in the dressing room with the blokes,

:15:56.:15:59.

they've tipped their guts into it whether you've got the result

:16:00.:16:01.

or not, but there's something happened in that.

:16:02.:16:03.

Something in that that I want to be part of that and I want to continue

:16:04.:16:07.

Salford had lost their previous two games going into this one

:16:08.:16:11.

Some great work-out to the right led to this bounce out of a tackle

:16:12.:16:15.

to give the pass to score the opening try of the game.

:16:16.:16:18.

But Widnes went on to have the better of the first half,

:16:19.:16:21.

with the fit-again Kevin Brown giving his team-mate

:16:22.:16:23.

The dummy was enough to create the gap.

:16:24.:16:26.

Widnes had two more tries denied by the video referee before

:16:27.:16:29.

getting their second of the game, when Chris Bridge was on the end

:16:30.:16:31.

Rhys Hanbury added the penalty before the break and Widnes

:16:32.:16:36.

After half-time, Salford clearly meant business,

:16:37.:16:41.

and after pressurising the Widnes defence for the next 15 minutes,

:16:42.:16:45.

they finally got their rewards, with some lovely passing

:16:46.:16:47.

to get at the corner, Gareth O'Brien's conversion bringing

:16:48.:16:49.

They continued the pressure and when Michael Dobson's high kick

:16:50.:16:55.

was initially taken and got away by Robert,

:16:56.:16:57.

Gareth O'Brien added a penalty for Salford before the final whistle

:16:58.:17:02.

to give them the win and condemn Widnes to their eighth

:17:03.:17:04.

We've got a real good belief in the group and I think the group

:17:05.:17:12.

are better than what they actually believe they are, so we need that

:17:13.:17:15.

to kind of come forward with the confidence.

:17:16.:17:17.

Hopefully all these wins will help with that going forward.

:17:18.:17:20.

They turned that first half into points, turned that pressure

:17:21.:17:22.

into points and we've come out of this with a victory,

:17:23.:17:25.

We were pretty confident going first half at their line but we just

:17:26.:17:29.

couldn't turn that confidence and determination into points,

:17:30.:17:31.

So much swirling around off the pitch

:17:32.:17:36.

How important for you and the players to stick to doing

:17:37.:17:41.

what you do, and do your talking on the pitch?

:17:42.:17:44.

We need to just keep real stable on the pitch.

:17:45.:17:47.

See if we can get some real consistency.

:17:48.:17:49.

And let everyone else worry about what is going on off the

:17:50.:17:54.

And we will just focus on the rugby and go forward with that.

:17:55.:17:58.

Joining me is the interim general manager of Super League, Mark

:17:59.:18:00.

We hope that Magic Weekend would be coming back

:18:01.:18:06.

Do you think there is still a place for Magic Weekend as

:18:07.:18:12.

We will sit down after this weekend and

:18:13.:18:15.

look at all the things that we look at, for feedback.

:18:16.:18:18.

We speak to the clubs, we speak to the players.

:18:19.:18:22.

stakeholders, but the early indications are that the 10th

:18:23.:18:25.

edition is bigger and better than ever.

:18:26.:18:26.

So why would we take it out of the calendar?

:18:27.:18:29.

It has been a tough week for the Rugby football league,

:18:30.:18:32.

with Salford's owner calling for a breakaway of Super League,

:18:33.:18:49.

saying that the RFL isn't fit for purpose.

:18:50.:18:51.

Every one of our Super League chairman has a right to voice their

:18:52.:18:56.

We do have the right channels and governance structures

:18:57.:18:59.

That is being dealt with by Nigel as and

:19:00.:19:02.

Brian, as chairman, rather than by myself.

:19:03.:19:04.

Would it have been better to keep it all in house?

:19:05.:19:07.

We are just concentrating on Magic and at the moment all the signs are

:19:08.:19:12.

that we have delivered a great Magic, so we are really happy with

:19:13.:19:15.

Do you think Super League should be a separate entity?

:19:16.:19:20.

It is not really for me to discuss that.

:19:21.:19:22.

It is being dealt with by people above me.

:19:23.:19:24.

I'm two weeks into the job, working on

:19:25.:19:29.

Early pressure for Catalan, as they come down this

:19:30.:19:31.

And he's too big and too strong for Wakefield.

:19:32.:19:45.

Well, Horo makes a clean connection there, for me.

:19:46.:19:49.

More early pressure from this Catalans side.

:19:50.:20:10.

And again they target Wakefield's left.

:20:11.:20:12.

And that's really good hands to put Judy Broughton

:20:13.:20:14.

He's transferred that to St James' Park.

:20:15.:20:27.

Stewart involved, and Jodie Broughton,

:20:28.:20:34.

Now towards this right side, great hands.

:20:35.:20:41.

They will hold it up this time.

:20:42.:20:43.

But again, Chris Campbell will make sure.

:20:44.:20:57.

Wakefield waited for that ball to go dead.

:20:58.:20:59.

Catalans running away with this game.

:21:00.:21:13.

He will try to pop it up to Jones-Bishop.

:21:14.:21:21.

Credit to Liam Finn for his presence of mind as Catalans were

:21:22.:21:43.

He had the pace, he had the skill and kept himself in touch. Whitfield

:21:44.:22:02.

on the ball. Buoyed by that triumph. He hoists the kick on the last. It

:22:03.:22:07.

is going to hang in the air for some time. Miller will bloom it down the

:22:08.:22:12.

right-hand side. Bounces into those hands. James Bishop! He has a

:22:13.:22:24.

second! Right back in the game. Or are they? Chris Campbell grabs

:22:25.:22:31.

again. Goes to the screen. Goes for the decision of try. What a finish!

:22:32.:22:39.

Bishop! Sublime! And his reward is another four points on the board.

:22:40.:22:46.

Well, look at that. Started the move, gets back into it. And he just

:22:47.:22:52.

waited and time to that pass. Super acrobatics from Bishop.

:22:53.:22:58.

In the groove now, Wakefield, as Miller picks it up, skirts the line,

:22:59.:23:07.

turns away. Onto the captain. Stopped in his tracks. Goes again!

:23:08.:23:17.

Bashes his way across! No problem for Chris Campbell this time! Hit

:23:18.:23:26.

the straps, hit the front! Miller with the short ball. They weren't

:23:27.:23:29.

going to stop him there. Such a dangerous arm with the ball.

:23:30.:23:46.

Carney likewise. All over the park. He will muscle his way in. Then back

:23:47.:24:03.

again. On the fringes. The Australian connection, Stuart

:24:04.:24:07.

and Carney. Then the Frenchman. The man from Perth in yon.

:24:08.:24:14.

Down the right-hand side they move it. A quick ball.

:24:15.:24:31.

WHISTLE BLOWS Might just have seen this one call

:24:32.:24:35.

away. At the back and then a great put out from Carney. Had the power

:24:36.:24:42.

to finish. A weight of this right-hand side again. Real ebb and

:24:43.:24:48.

flow. -- a way to this right-hand side. A flat ball. Wakefield not

:24:49.:25:00.

giving up on this one at all. Against its former club! And they

:25:01.:25:05.

are delighted! Chris Campbell awards the try. They keep and keep on

:25:06.:25:14.

coming and the Frenchman scores against his former team. Well,

:25:15.:25:24.

again, power at the line, no chance. Brushed aside. In delight. Catalan.

:25:25.:25:36.

This game so finely poised and that could be so crucial. Mixed group.

:25:37.:25:43.

Simon has given away a penalty here, a kickable penalty at that. And with

:25:44.:25:49.

minutes remaining. This could be the turning point in this game. A penny

:25:50.:25:56.

for Chris Chester's thoughts and a penny for Pat Richards' thoughts as

:25:57.:26:00.

he lines up the kick... It struck the frame of the post! Back out! And

:26:01.:26:10.

Wakefield have been let off here! It remains 24 points apiece as we close

:26:11.:26:14.

in. As Richards gets a clean connection... That is the rugby gods

:26:15.:26:23.

smiling down on Wakefield. Into the final few moments here. Just a

:26:24.:26:30.

couple of minutes remaining. This is the last four Wakefield. Not very

:26:31.:26:35.

good from there, is he? It is going to hang, it is going to crawl, it is

:26:36.:26:42.

going to clip over! Jacob Miller with a 50 metre drop goal! He gave

:26:43.:26:51.

it some! Swung the boot! And it had the legs, and Wakefield have made a

:26:52.:27:00.

bit of Magic Weekend history. That will go down in football. Jacob

:27:01.:27:05.

Miller! Wakefield so close now. As the drop-kick goes down. Catalan

:27:06.:27:12.

won't have time to respond here, surely? As the hooter goes. Chris

:27:13.:27:17.

Campbell blows the whistle and Wakefield players jump for joy. What

:27:18.:27:27.

a finish! Nine wins from the last ten, Chris Chester with the work.

:27:28.:27:31.

Look at the fans! They will issue this! -- relishing. Catalan could

:27:32.:27:40.

have climbed to the top of the table even if temporarily but they missed

:27:41.:27:43.

the opportunity and Jacob Miller, the man on the spot, a 50 metre drop

:27:44.:27:53.

goal. And as he exchanges hugs with his opposite number, the two sixes

:27:54.:27:56.

so influential. Those fans can dream.

:27:57.:28:01.

This team just keeps on rolling forward? Gas. We weren't very good

:28:02.:28:07.

in certain parts of the game. -- yeah. But we found a way to win

:28:08.:28:12.

today and we came back not just once but twice, and then he comes up with

:28:13.:28:16.

the special player at the end to win us the game. Usually that would go

:28:17.:28:21.

to thin but it came to me and I just thought I would have a go and got a

:28:22.:28:30.

bit lucky. We need to keep on top performance and moving forward

:28:31.:28:32.

because we've done a good job to last eight, nine weeks and we lost

:28:33.:28:43.

tonight that we are a poor team. We've got a good squad, a good team

:28:44.:28:46.

spirit and the belief in the group is fantastic and it was evident

:28:47.:28:51.

again today. One of the highlights of the last 12 months was Lizzie

:28:52.:28:56.

Jones singing Abide With Me to thank the Rugby League community for their

:28:57.:29:00.

support after her husband, Danny, died. She would be singing it this

:29:01.:29:05.

year but she had part of a panel judging a fan choir as we live

:29:06.:29:10.

together with Songs Of Praise for a very special experience. What have

:29:11.:29:15.

people got to do? What are we looking for? We are looking for a 32

:29:16.:29:20.

piece choir. Normal, everyday people who deserve to sing at Wembley. They

:29:21.:29:25.

need to write in and let us know their stories. Let us know why they

:29:26.:29:29.

would like to be part of that choir. And be part of such a wonderful

:29:30.:29:33.

experience. And we should stress, they don't have to be able to sing

:29:34.:29:38.

like you, do they? They don't have to be able to sing. Just basically

:29:39.:29:42.

tell us your story and tell us why and hopefully come along and have a

:29:43.:29:48.

fantastic day like I did. And what is the experience like? What will be

:29:49.:29:50.

in store for them? It is one of the most special things

:29:51.:30:00.

anyone can do in their lives. For me, for personal reasons, I wonder

:30:01.:30:04.

that day. It is just a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. If

:30:05.:30:09.

you think that somebody you know deserves to do that, you can write

:30:10.:30:15.

in. I would love to meet them. How special for you to be involved

:30:16.:30:18.

again. The Rugby League have been amazing.

:30:19.:30:23.

To be part of Wembley again, I love meeting people who deserve to do

:30:24.:30:29.

things like that. I cannot wait to meet these incredible people. Good

:30:30.:30:36.

luck with the judging. If you do get into that choir, you will be live on

:30:37.:30:40.

the BBC ahead of the Challenge Cup final. This is how he can get

:30:41.:30:43.

involved. Remember, we're looking for unusual or uplifting stories

:30:44.:30:49.

about supporting your club and why you deserve a place representing

:30:50.:30:52.

your team in the Rugby League Challenge Cup choir.

:30:53.:31:02.

We were saddened this week to hear the death of Ray Lakeland who

:31:03.:31:09.

started his career and BBC in Newcastle and then on to be a

:31:10.:31:12.

pioneering producer in the early days of Rugby League coverage on the

:31:13.:31:15.

BBC. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time. The action

:31:16.:31:20.

on Sunday continued with St Helens against Huddersfield. There have

:31:21.:31:27.

been a province in the Huddersfield camp recently and this performance

:31:28.:31:30.

backs that up. It was 20 minutes before the deadlock was broken with

:31:31.:31:34.

Jermaine McGillvary getting the first try after a pass from Leroy

:31:35.:31:39.

Cudjoe. The next point came from an error from St Helens, after eight

:31:40.:31:44.

towering kick was taken safely by Jack Owens near to his own line. The

:31:45.:31:54.

fumble by debutant Kelvin Wellington let the Giants in again. The next

:31:55.:32:01.

try was a real crowd pleaser. From inside a row in half, Huddersfield

:32:02.:32:06.

watched an attack. An overlap the voting Jake Collar made the break

:32:07.:32:09.

before off-loading to Aaron Murphy who sent in the supporting Johnny

:32:10.:32:10.

Ellis. By now, Huddersfield were 16-0 up

:32:11.:32:24.

before St Helens got some points on the board. Adam Smith got the ball

:32:25.:32:31.

back inside to put Maggie Dawson in. But any chance of a Saints comeback

:32:32.:32:34.

was thrown into doubt after the start of the second half. A move

:32:35.:32:37.

reminiscent of St Helens at their best opened up Huddersfield 's lead

:32:38.:32:42.

to 16 points. The ball was moved to the left and then the right and

:32:43.:32:46.

through 13 pairs of hands before ending up with Leroy Cudjoe again

:32:47.:32:50.

being the provider for Jermaine McGillvary to crash in at the

:32:51.:32:58.

corner. Danny Brough converted. The next try was not quite so

:32:59.:33:05.

spectacular. Kyle Wood the provider. Then came one of the most bizarre

:33:06.:33:10.

tries you will ever see. The past on Danny Brott met the feed of Jake

:33:11.:33:16.

Connor. The air and Aaron Murphy went in at the corner. By now,

:33:17.:33:22.

Huddersfield led 34-6 but Saints hit a purple patch with three tries in

:33:23.:33:28.

12 minutes, the first from Jack Owens who went in at the corner

:33:29.:33:32.

flag. Then Luke Walsh launched a high hanging kick. The ball was

:33:33.:33:41.

spilled ten metres out. The deficit was reduced to 18. The third try

:33:42.:33:48.

came after another long ball out wide from Walshe, allowing Jordan

:33:49.:33:54.

Turner to collect on the bounce and off-load. That launched a move that

:33:55.:33:57.

came back to the middle of the pitch again. A well timed pass led to St

:33:58.:34:10.

Helens' fourth try of the game. Huddersfield were not done. Captain

:34:11.:34:19.

Ryan Hinchcliffe went straight in. Then another move that started

:34:20.:34:22.

inside the ring half ended with Leroy Cudjoe I joining the defence

:34:23.:34:29.

and throwing a well timed pass for Kyle Wood to complete. Danny Brough

:34:30.:34:33.

added a goal to complete their comrades of wind. It was

:34:34.:34:36.

Huddersfield 's third win in eight games and moves them two points

:34:37.:34:44.

clear of the bottom of the table. I thought we had a patient performance

:34:45.:34:51.

out there today. Saints, early on in the game, it was a bit of an arm

:34:52.:34:55.

wrestle and we rode our luck at times but it shows how good a team

:34:56.:34:59.

we are we can come away and get a result, good St Helens team. We

:35:00.:35:03.

scored 48 points, which I'm happy about. We still have some work to

:35:04.:35:09.

do. We are still two points behind. Just behind those top four clubs. We

:35:10.:35:15.

have the next three weeks, we play against the top three sides in the

:35:16.:35:20.

competition. And it could be totally different, but we need to start

:35:21.:35:23.

performing a lot better and more consistently. Throughout the 80

:35:24.:35:29.

minutes. I do not believe that as a club and a team we have put an 80

:35:30.:35:31.

minute performance together. Sometimes we are good in attack and

:35:32.:35:37.

not good in defence and the other way around sometimes but we have a

:35:38.:35:42.

long way to go. The final match of the weekend is the Hull derby. The

:35:43.:35:47.

black and whites recorded victory in the first one. Watching the rematch

:35:48.:35:52.

is Dave Woods. The Magic Weekend has been keen -- has been kind to Hull

:35:53.:35:59.

so far. A win today and they go top of the Super League, clear by two

:36:00.:36:04.

points. But those in red and white will hope to stymie those ambitions.

:36:05.:36:11.

It is a high kick, and my follower has picked the pockets of two Hull

:36:12.:36:17.

KR players to score in this opening six minutes. -- Fonua. The ball away

:36:18.:36:28.

to Kelly. Did not quite stick where he was hoping it would. A scramble

:36:29.:36:33.

on the floor. Hull have come up with possession. Dancing steps by Marc

:36:34.:36:46.

Sneyd. He was called in the end. It is getting a little bit messy again

:36:47.:36:50.

here. You would always anticipate emotions would be high when these

:36:51.:36:55.

two come up against each other, and this is not disappointing in that

:36:56.:37:02.

respect. Richard Silverwood is the man who will aim to sort all of this

:37:03.:37:07.

out, but there is lots of pushing and shoving going on. There was a

:37:08.:37:15.

bit of bite to this one. It was the caller tackle on Mark Sneyd that set

:37:16.:37:22.

things. He was clearly unhappy with his treatment from the Australian. A

:37:23.:37:32.

big effort forward by Watts, who has got the ball away to Danny Houghton.

:37:33.:37:40.

He launches a Hull attack. It is a penalty for Hull. The referee has

:37:41.:37:46.

seen something of the ball. -- off the ball. You can see there are that

:37:47.:38:00.

falling through, Lunt makes a tackle that will earn him ten minutes in

:38:01.:38:08.

the sin-bin. Mark Sneyd. Hull moving it wide. Quick hands from Fonua. And

:38:09.:38:19.

the winger scores, a sweeping move. They are calling for the video

:38:20.:38:23.

referee, but Richard Silverwood is confident enough to give it. Kelly.

:38:24.:38:31.

Hull just searching the fringes again. Kelly comes dancing back in.

:38:32.:38:40.

He is held up but Rovers are getting close, penalty. It is another set of

:38:41.:38:49.

six for Rovers to attack the line. Trailing by ten points, they will

:38:50.:38:53.

not think about going for gold, they will want the six points if they

:38:54.:38:57.

can. Heavily hit forward in the first instance by green. Lunt, the

:38:58.:39:06.

shimmy from dummy half, and twist that has him over! Sean Lamont, ten

:39:07.:39:13.

minutes in the sin-bin but now he's the hero of this side, having got

:39:14.:39:21.

them back in it -- Sean Lunt. Lunt, clever kick, Kelly has gone chasing

:39:22.:39:30.

after it. The referee is having a word with the touch judge. There is

:39:31.:39:34.

the reason why. Was that a shoulder charge? Penalty for Campese, he can

:39:35.:39:45.

bring his team to within two points. At half-time, it is quite again.

:39:46.:39:55.

Lunt. In by green. Good off-load. Lunt gets the past away. Hull 's

:39:56.:40:01.

line is being tested. Walker is being wrestled and it is another

:40:02.:40:16.

penalty. Walker held down by Frank Prichard. Not for nothing do they

:40:17.:40:24.

call him Cranky Frank. They are now all level with three minutes of the

:40:25.:40:32.

second half laid. Kelly has got the runners, and he got the gap for

:40:33.:40:37.

Graham Hall, against his former club and against the form coming into

:40:38.:40:47.

this game, Hull KR take the lead. Mark Sneyd. The little ball back on

:40:48.:40:54.

the inside. The Rovers' defence is tight at the moment. Houston. To the

:40:55.:41:06.

line comes a less. And a surge by Fonua for his second try of the

:41:07.:41:14.

game. Norton. Looking for the middle, looking for that left-hand

:41:15.:41:22.

flank. They have got a bit of space. Yeaman goes forward, and here comes

:41:23.:41:31.

Jamie Shaul. The inevitability was that it was going to be a Hull

:41:32.:41:35.

drive. And they are in the lead again now. -- Hull drive. Mark

:41:36.:41:44.

Minichiello looking to make it a try for Hull. Mark Minichiello bounding

:41:45.:41:51.

in, and that might just be the defining moment of the game. The

:41:52.:41:57.

Australian scores and it looks like Hull are going to go top of the

:41:58.:42:03.

Super League. It was a scrappy game, probably did not live up to the

:42:04.:42:07.

building that was stoked up prior to the game but I am over the moon with

:42:08.:42:14.

the points. We have been playing a lot of people for a long period of

:42:15.:42:20.

time, the players were outstanding, we had a couple of errors that we

:42:21.:42:24.

will keep working on. The confidence seems to be using out of them. It is

:42:25.:42:29.

another difficult week for us. We have had to come from a nitty-gritty

:42:30.:42:35.

game. And the manner in which we have been getting results over the

:42:36.:42:39.

last six or seven weeks has been very pleasing. That win for Hull

:42:40.:42:45.

wraps up the Magic Weekend. Let's see where that result leaves them

:42:46.:42:49.

and everyone else in the first utility Super League table. Hull

:42:50.:42:54.

were the only team in the top four to win at Magic Weekend. We can go

:42:55.:43:00.

into fourth place. Leeds Rhinos two points adrift at the bottom. We are

:43:01.:43:11.

back next week. Hull hope to compete hat-trick of wins against St Helens

:43:12.:43:15.

when they meet on Saturday. Joining me is Jamie Peacock. A good weekend

:43:16.:43:20.

for Rugby League? I have enjoyed being here. I did not enjoy the

:43:21.:43:25.

result at the end but it was a fantastic occasion, the atmosphere

:43:26.:43:28.

was outstanding and the games have been great as well. Would you like

:43:29.:43:32.

to see it coming back to Newcastle again next year? I would,

:43:33.:43:37.

definitely. I have been up and around here for a couple of days

:43:38.:43:41.

before. And having this blue event is helping the grassroots of Rugby

:43:42.:43:46.

League developed here, and we need to continue doing that. And not take

:43:47.:43:52.

it somewhere else. To try to spark interest in the game in another

:43:53.:43:58.

area? I would like it to stay here. The people of Newcastle appreciate

:43:59.:44:02.

it being here. When something is beginning to flourish, you have got

:44:03.:44:06.

to keep at it. Would you have it as a stand-alone set of fixtures or try

:44:07.:44:10.

to incorporate it into the calendar? I would like to see it as a

:44:11.:44:19.

competition in the winter. Magic Weekend is at an end. They have

:44:20.:44:22.

taken down the posts at St James' Park. We will be back in the studio

:44:23.:44:29.

next week at the slightly earlier time of 11:10pm. We hope you can

:44:30.:44:32.

join as then. Goodbye.
