about those two. Boris will be staying with us because soon the

:00:00.:00:00.

players will be walking onto the Centre Court. Over the years we have

:00:00.:00:00.

seen the giants of the game, as Eddie Butler describes.

:00:07.:00:15.

There is no hiding place, simply giants on a postage stamp stage.

:00:16.:00:20.

Every bead of sweat seen. The drop shot. Every blur other winner slowed

:00:21.:00:32.

to slow motion. Two giants at full speed, at full stretch, stretch of

:00:33.:00:40.

limb, every sound court, amplified in the amphitheatre. Two Giants

:00:41.:00:49.

pushed in the pores, the held breath of silent Centre Court

:00:50.:00:54.

concentration. Giants as a feuding couple, their place in the panty and

:00:55.:01:03.

reinforced by their final. Bjorn Borg, John McEnroe, McEnroe, Jimmy

:01:04.:01:14.

Connors. The giants who bestrode their age, Fred Perry, Rod Laver,

:01:15.:01:22.

the expressionless Bjorn Borg, the theatrical Boris Becker, the

:01:23.:01:29.

undemonstrative Pete Sampras, the one Arthur Ashe, I will let my

:01:30.:01:34.

racket do the talking, and how that racket spoke on his day. And in a

:01:35.:01:47.

new century, the Federer Nadal final... The Andy Murray moment.

:01:48.:01:57.

COMMENTATOR: The waiting is over! Giants adorned by the accessories of

:01:58.:02:02.

their craft, punks modelling on the catwalk. 'S winners of their catgut

:02:03.:02:11.

must have tight strong light sabres, two Giants heated to boiling point,

:02:12.:02:17.

picked clean by the vulture of pressure. Exposed. There is no

:02:18.:02:23.

hiding place. Two Giants soaring on the thermal, rising to the occasion.

:02:24.:02:41.

Two Giants. One champion. SUE BARKER: It gets the hairs on the

:02:42.:02:46.

back of the neck up. This tournament has such great tradition and

:02:47.:02:51.

history. Yes, you really feel it. I'm standing next to one of the guys

:02:52.:02:55.

who created so much history on this Centre Court. Well, I call it my

:02:56.:03:03.

living room. Pete Sampras stole the keys! It is the place I love playing

:03:04.:03:09.

my most important events and I will cherish it for ever. Whenever I come

:03:10.:03:14.

back to the club, I feel I am 17, 18, nothing has changed. It is a

:03:15.:03:20.

magical feeling down here, isn't it? There has been the excitement

:03:21.:03:26.

growing, and obviously with it being the first match today starting at

:03:27.:03:30.

two o'clock, everyone is in their seats early. We have an amazing

:03:31.:03:34.

turnout in the royal box today, which Boris is a part of as well so

:03:35.:03:39.

that brings even more expectation, excitement. Then players coming out

:03:40.:03:44.

very shortly. It is such a magical day, but for the players now getting

:03:45.:03:49.

ready, Andy knows all about it. Milos Raonic doesn't know, it is all

:03:50.:03:55.

new. And it is slightly different getting ready not just for your

:03:56.:03:58.

first Grand Slam final but for a final at Wimbledon and this is what

:03:59.:04:06.

you dream of. Walking out in the All-England Club, playing for that

:04:07.:04:08.

great trophy. There is Chrissie Evert in the royal box, and tennis

:04:09.:04:14.

royalty there, Stefan Edberg. Everyone taking their seats. Someone

:04:15.:04:19.

I shared three Wimbledon finals with. Here comes the Duke and

:04:20.:04:23.

Duchess of Cambridge as well, making their way into the royal box. And

:04:24.:04:30.

getting a big loud cheer. There is Andy with Jamie Delgado, making his

:04:31.:04:35.

way back to the locker room I guess, just get the bag ready. Yes,

:04:36.:04:40.

downstairs is the warm up area where they will have been getting the

:04:41.:04:46.

early nerves out of their legs. The anticipation again, one last chat

:04:47.:04:50.

with his coaches, then he will be making the walk along the corridor

:04:51.:04:55.

with Raonic, following the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge onto the Centre

:04:56.:05:01.

Court. Just like any other day! Just one coat allowed in the locker room,

:05:02.:05:07.

so Carlos Moya is the one who has been in his corner this fortnight.

:05:08.:05:15.

Yes, is -- as much as we love John, we should give Carlos a lot of

:05:16.:05:21.

credit. These guys grounded Raonic over the last couple of years. The

:05:22.:05:25.

question is always who gets all the credit, but at the end of the day it

:05:26.:05:30.

is about the player. The player is picking his team. He knows his team,

:05:31.:05:39.

everyone has different roles. If you have the last guy telling your man

:05:40.:05:43.

what to do, you had better be right because there will be a fight

:05:44.:05:48.

afterwards! We have seen the Duke and Duchess taking their place on

:05:49.:05:52.

Centre Court, many famous faces, all of those enjoying the action

:05:53.:05:57.

happening on Henman Hill. They certainly play their part. The scene

:05:58.:06:04.

is set, but can Andy Murray win a second Wimbledon title and continue

:06:05.:06:05.

his incredible sporting story? The crowd rose to Andy Murray, first

:06:06.:06:29.

Wimbledon, first major. What a debut.

:06:30.:06:36.

What a performance from the massive man from Dunblane! I'm going to try

:06:37.:06:49.

this and it's not going to be easy. The support has been incredible so

:06:50.:07:04.

thank you. The wait is over! SUE BARKER: It is the ever-changing

:07:05.:07:09.

face, physique and emotions of Andy Murray over those years. Very much

:07:10.:07:14.

so, we were reflecting on it that Andy was baby faced at 19, ended up

:07:15.:07:19.

losing in five sets to Nalbandian. In the context of Boris, he had won

:07:20.:07:26.

it twice by benzoate is unbelievable but he has come such a long way. The

:07:27.:07:31.

biggest turning point was when you made him cry in 2012 after he lost

:07:32.:07:38.

the final to Federer. This is the moment, this is when the nerves kick

:07:39.:07:43.

in, the excitement and anticipation. Yes, this is when it sets in now,

:07:44.:07:48.

you are about to make the traditional walk through the

:07:49.:07:52.

All-England Club, through the members' area, past the royal box,

:07:53.:07:57.

downstairs. Then you get told to wait for a few minutes before you go

:07:58.:08:03.

out. It is the history and tradition of doing it, and it is when the

:08:04.:08:08.

nerves set in. Even though your walk was shorter. I didn't have the

:08:09.:08:15.

beautiful Ali and the history before me. But you still had to walk past

:08:16.:08:21.

the trophy. Those moments took for ever, you're ready to go out, then

:08:22.:08:26.

you had to wait until obviously everybody was ready for it. Those

:08:27.:08:32.

are the moment afterwards that you cherish because it is

:08:33.:08:35.

once-in-a-lifetime. This is what makes Wimbledon so special, moments

:08:36.:08:42.

like this. Yes, led by the club coach, whose responsibility is

:08:43.:08:45.

getting the players on Centre Court on time and it looks like he's doing

:08:46.:08:51.

a good job today. Coming down the steps, going underneath the famous

:08:52.:08:56.

Kipling quote, then out towards the doors of Centre Court. It is

:08:57.:09:02.

something that Andy Murray has dealt with so well, all of the pressure

:09:03.:09:08.

and expectation, hasn't he, Boris? That is the moment I was dreading,

:09:09.:09:12.

the few seconds you have to wait. He didn't trip, everything is ready,

:09:13.:09:14.

here we go. Wow! That was some welcome, wasn't

:09:15.:09:55.

it? Although it is a very international crowd on Centre Court,

:09:56.:10:01.

you just know that probably 80% of going to be behind Andy, is that

:10:02.:10:05.

going to be a factor? I think it will be, if he can use that positive

:10:06.:10:09.

energy, especially at the start of the match, he will have to try to

:10:10.:10:13.

serve as well as he possibly can to get his teeth into the match. I love

:10:14.:10:18.

the way Andy has gone about it, he has really stuck to his game plan.

:10:19.:10:25.

When he was in trouble against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, he really used

:10:26.:10:29.

the crowd. That is what John has been telling Milos to do, use the

:10:30.:10:34.

crowd to fire himself up. His problem is that he gets to bottled

:10:35.:10:39.

in, he does not use the crowd to his advantage, and John as one of the

:10:40.:10:43.

experts of doing that. In the Federer match, but also the round of

:10:44.:10:49.

16 match against Goffin, he was able to show a different character that

:10:50.:10:53.

we have not seen from Raonic before, and that is the reason he is in the

:10:54.:10:57.

final today. It is tough for all the family. It is definitely when you

:10:58.:11:04.

are not able to do anything, it will be a nervous time for the whole

:11:05.:11:07.

team. You are being generous to the Raonic team, saying they will have

:11:08.:11:17.

20%. Probably 20, not 20%! It is an international crowd here. It is, but

:11:18.:11:22.

this is the home tournament for Andy Murray, and over the years, with the

:11:23.:11:26.

history and experience, I am sure the crowd will be massively behind

:11:27.:11:32.

him. We don't get many days like this, Andy going through his final

:11:33.:11:38.

preparations, his mum Judy is courtside, what a great job she has

:11:39.:11:42.

done with both Andy and his brother, Jamie. They are coming out for the

:11:43.:11:47.

coin toss, being done by an 11-year-old from tooting, he is

:11:48.:11:53.

representing Jigsaw, which helps children and young people through

:11:54.:11:57.

trauma, loss and bereavement. He said, I put my hand over my mouth

:11:58.:12:01.

and started screaming when I was told I was doing the coin toss, I

:12:02.:12:06.

was so exhilarated. This is your big moment, Youssef, do it well. Heads

:12:07.:12:12.

has been called, it is heads. Very well done. Certainly a lot of spin

:12:13.:12:16.

on that coin toss, he has done his job! So what would you do if you are

:12:17.:12:23.

Andy Murray, would you make Milos server first? Possibly, I did that

:12:24.:12:29.

when I played, return of serve was my biggest strength, and if he can

:12:30.:12:32.

break serve early in the first couple of games, it could open the

:12:33.:12:36.

match wide open. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure Milos would have

:12:37.:12:42.

wanted to serve first as well. A little bit of sunshine breaking

:12:43.:12:46.

through, I am delighted to say. When we were up and Henman Hill, we had a

:12:47.:12:51.

few spots of rain, but luckily the roof is open, and play is under way.

:12:52.:12:57.

And, Boris, in this match, Milos just has to believe that he can win,

:12:58.:13:02.

and that is so much easier said than done. If you show your opponent in a

:13:03.:13:07.

major final but you are not sure, you are lacking in confidence, you

:13:08.:13:11.

are not going to win anyway. It does not mean, just because you are

:13:12.:13:15.

aggressive, you are going to win, but that is the first step in the

:13:16.:13:19.

right direction. Obviously, you have to back it up with the right tennis,

:13:20.:13:23.

but you have to be so mentally tough and believe at all times that you

:13:24.:13:27.

are going to win, even though it does not look like it. And also, as

:13:28.:13:32.

far as Milos is concerned, he has been coming in a lot, showing he is

:13:33.:13:37.

moving forward so much better. Have you been impressed with his

:13:38.:13:41.

serve-volley? Very much so, if you are coming in behind a 140 mph

:13:42.:13:48.

serve, you might not think it is difficult, but was has impressed me,

:13:49.:13:52.

his balance has been good for a big guy, his technique at the net has

:13:53.:13:56.

improved, and he will reflect a lot on the final at Queen's. For a set

:13:57.:14:03.

and a half, up 3-0, he played fantastic, and he will be saying to

:14:04.:14:07.

himself, that worked well, that is what I have got to repeat, and I

:14:08.:14:10.

think the biggest challenge is whether he can do it for three out

:14:11.:14:14.

of five sets. He did it for a set and a half, then his level dropped,

:14:15.:14:18.

Murray got better. So whether he can win through in five-setter is what

:14:19.:14:24.

we are waiting to see. He said that about the Federer match, he

:14:25.:14:27.

hesitated a little bit, let Federer back in, he said, I cannot do that,

:14:28.:14:32.

I have to stay aggressive. After winning the first set, he took his

:14:33.:14:37.

foot off the pedal, but Milos hunter, he could easily have gone

:14:38.:14:41.

away during that fourth set, down 2-1, facing quite a lot of break

:14:42.:14:45.

points, but he came up big in the fall set and played some of his best

:14:46.:14:50.

tennis in the fifth. That is the thing with best of five, you cannot

:14:51.:14:55.

be at your best all the time, and when you are on the losing side, you

:14:56.:15:00.

have to pick your spot, when you relax, you cannot play 100% all the

:15:01.:15:05.

time. Important is the beginning and then after each set, start fresh and

:15:06.:15:10.

full of confidence. As far as Andy is concerned, he has got to take

:15:11.:15:16.

risks as well. He knows there will be few opportunities, he has to

:15:17.:15:20.

accept there will be as is flying past him, but when you get a look at

:15:21.:15:24.

second serve, that is where he has got to be aggressive, get into the

:15:25.:15:30.

baseline exchanges, try to exploit Raonic's lack of movement. He knows

:15:31.:15:33.

he will have to play very, very well. And with the tag of favourite

:15:34.:15:38.

now, not facing Djokovic of Federer, it is a different Grand Slam final.

:15:39.:15:45.

It is a different situation, being the favourite, that is something new

:15:46.:15:49.

for Andy, coping with that expectation, let's see how the match

:15:50.:15:53.

starts. I am intrigued to see the first set, that could tell us a lot.

:15:54.:15:59.

As far as Andy's game is concerned, he has so many shots, he can have

:16:00.:16:05.

many plans. 100% right, he can come out and be aggressive at the start,

:16:06.:16:09.

and if he is not feeling it, he is one of the best counter punches the

:16:10.:16:14.

game has seen, he loves having a target as Milos is coming in but

:16:15.:16:19.

does not have enough depth and width. There are a lot of options, I

:16:20.:16:24.

think at the start he has to try to be aggressive himself, though, and

:16:25.:16:27.

that doesn't mean coming into the net, but trying to dictate play,

:16:28.:16:32.

leading Raonic get the first hit in. Jamie Hanley Ivan, who has got his

:16:33.:16:42.

game face on! -- Jamie and. The has to be aggressive, Andy, he has to

:16:43.:16:48.

try and get on the second serve. -- he has. One of the most impressive

:16:49.:16:53.

things about Andy over the last three months is is consistency of

:16:54.:16:57.

play, and it goes back to the clay-court season from Monte Carlo

:16:58.:17:02.

onwards. He was in the final of Madrid, won Rome, Roland Garros,

:17:03.:17:07.

Queen's. They have not been the peaks and rough that we have

:17:08.:17:10.

sometimes seen in the past, and that level of consistency is important to

:17:11.:17:14.

get off to a positive start and try to get Raonic on the blackboard. And

:17:15.:17:17.

Milos is chasing history, pressure on him to be the first Canadian to

:17:18.:17:25.

win a Grand Slam. That is a nice type of pressure, the first time for

:17:26.:17:29.

him, and he would not look at it this way, he is really riding high,

:17:30.:17:34.

his is a success story. He was dreaming as a little boy to win

:17:35.:17:38.

Wimbledon, and for him to reach it at 25, at the right age, I don't

:17:39.:17:45.

think physically he is struggling to match with the five sets. I think he

:17:46.:17:50.

is in a perfect scenario to create history. He would become the first

:17:51.:17:55.

non-European to win Wimbledon since you won in 2002! There have been a

:17:56.:18:00.

few good Europeans, that is for sure, a lot of the same guys have

:18:01.:18:05.

held up the trophy! As far as Milos is concerned, he has got all the

:18:06.:18:08.

weapons, but it is about staying with Murray early on. The key is the

:18:09.:18:15.

bread and butter, holding serve. He cannot lose serve early. Once Murray

:18:16.:18:19.

gets the break, it will be difficult. For him, he has to hold

:18:20.:18:24.

serve, get to the tie-breaker if he cannot break serve, take it from

:18:25.:18:28.

there. We look at the head to head, it is 6-3 in favour of Murray, and

:18:29.:18:36.

he won, much closer than the score suggested, as Tim said, at Queen's.

:18:37.:18:40.

When you look at the head to head, Murray as won the last five, but

:18:41.:18:44.

there are two ways to put pressure on the serve, and we think about

:18:45.:18:49.

great returners, but with such a big weapon of a serve, if you are

:18:50.:18:53.

continuously holding serve, your opponent thinks, if I lose it once,

:18:54.:18:58.

that is the set over, so that has got to be, as late and nearly gets

:18:59.:19:01.

one in the back from Raonic, that is what he has to focus on first and

:19:02.:19:10.

foremost. -- Lleyton This final has got so much, the big server against

:19:11.:19:13.

the great defender, the great returner, classic matches. It is a

:19:14.:19:18.

great matchplay scenario, what we are used to, Agassi against even

:19:19.:19:23.

easier rich, everyone loves the complete package of a tennis match,

:19:24.:19:28.

and we have got that today. As far as Andy is concerned, he is much

:19:29.:19:32.

better physically than when he won in 2013. He is better in every area,

:19:33.:19:37.

he has the experience of that day playing in the Wimbledon final,

:19:38.:19:43.

having not won, the enormous pressure, he has played in so many

:19:44.:19:47.

slam finals, even after his back operation he is in great shape

:19:48.:19:49.

physically. I think all those elements will come together and get

:19:50.:19:54.

a second Wimbledon title. A winner, one name each. Andy. Murray. Murray.

:19:55.:20:03.

Thank you for joining us, Tim and Lleyton make their way to the

:20:04.:20:09.

commentary box, will this be another triumphant day for British port and

:20:10.:20:14.

Andy Murray? Sit back in the company of Tim, Lleyton and Andrew Castle.

:20:15.:20:20.

Thank you very much indeed, the roof opens so we have the proper

:20:21.:20:23.

conclusion to the outdoor tournament. Spitting with rain

:20:24.:20:28.

earlier today, but at the moment it is set fair, very nice to see a

:20:29.:20:33.

little bit of blue sky above Milos Raonic, he won the toss, he is going

:20:34.:20:38.

to serve. Andy Murray is one of the best returners in the game, he is

:20:39.:20:42.

making Raonic weight in his first few minutes, so important,

:20:43.:20:47.

particularly for Raonic, to settle down. Stalking around the baseline

:20:48.:20:52.

in front of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Prime Minister,

:20:53.:20:54.

president of all the tennis federations from around the world,

:20:55.:20:57.

so many dignitaries. Here comes Murray.

:20:58.:21:01.

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE Taking his time!

:21:02.:21:10.

So here he goes, he wanted to serve first, a first Grand Slam final four

:21:11.:21:18.

Milos Raonic. Watch this delivery. He is in the lead. A great statement

:21:19.:21:59.

as well, first point, great return, looking to come forward.

:22:00.:22:17.

Raonic has served at 140 mph in this tournament, that was against Roger

:22:18.:22:24.

Federer, and the blood certainly causing around his system at the

:22:25.:22:29.

moment, he has opened up with two 139 mph deliveries.

:22:30.:23:23.

17 shots, number 16 caught the top of the net and just tested Raonic a

:23:24.:23:44.

little bit there, stayed on his toes.

:23:45.:23:58.

And that is some strong numbers, and excellent service game, a fine hold

:23:59.:24:09.

to settle him down. That was OK. It was exactly what he was after, he

:24:10.:24:14.

came out wanting to serve first. Andy Murray played a great first

:24:15.:24:19.

point, and he responded. He is going to have to serve really well today,

:24:20.:24:23.

but because Murray is such a good return, he will have to mix-up is

:24:24.:24:28.

serve, he cannot get too predictable, even with that first

:24:29.:24:34.

serve at that pace. Looking at Raonic's numbers, he serves 69%

:24:35.:24:39.

first serves in the court in his first six rounds. Serving 140 mph

:24:40.:24:47.

plus, making nearly seven out of ten - if those numbers stay like that,

:24:48.:24:50.

that is when it can get difficult for Murray.

:24:51.:26:45.

And there is the shot that has changed more than any other over the

:26:46.:27:02.

years. The willingness to take it on, Tim. I think that's a technique

:27:03.:27:11.

that Ivan Lendl has had an impact in, when the shoulder pulls off too

:27:12.:27:15.

early, staying right through the shot and finding his target.

:27:16.:27:36.

First serves every step of the way. There is Mac doing what he does

:27:37.:27:50.

best. This will be interesting, does he go into the body like he did

:27:51.:27:52.

against Federer a bit? He took a bit of that first serve.

:27:53.:28:13.

Andy had a good hit at it as well, and Milos came up with a lucky

:28:14.:28:15.

mis-hit volley. He hits from a peak of around about

:28:16.:28:38.

3.8 metres or so, 40 or 50 centimetres higher the ball comes

:28:39.:28:43.

down from compared to the Andy Murray delivery.

:28:44.:29:26.

Well, he's looking a little pushy. The approach there wasn't good

:29:27.:29:37.

enough, went straight back to him in the first volley and gave him

:29:38.:29:42.

another shot. Andy Murray is not always interested in getting the

:29:43.:29:48.

passing volley on the first ball, almost always interested in getting

:29:49.:29:55.

the second shot. Now that was the body serve and Murray was ready.

:29:56.:29:58.

That was an interesting confrontation.

:29:59.:30:05.

These are rare moments against Raonic, or they can be. He has only

:30:06.:30:15.

lost his serve on five occasions in 23 sets coming into this match.

:30:16.:30:46.

That forehand! And what of the kicking Mule of the serve into the

:30:47.:30:59.

corner as well. The first Israeli to ever win a Grand Slam, the man

:31:00.:31:01.

clapping, big supporter. It has been a great response so far.

:31:02.:31:41.

First mini question being asked at break point, second serve, gets it

:31:42.:31:43.

back to his game point. Talked about all the different match

:31:44.:32:17.

ups on the different tactics, I guess one we didn't talk about was

:32:18.:32:22.

the straight knockout. Write down the middle! This is his delivery,

:32:23.:32:30.

the fastest serve of the tournament, 144 against Federer. Most aces in

:32:31.:32:34.

the tournament, 137 coming into this. Just show me, point out some

:32:35.:32:40.

of the things on this delivery which are good. For starters, he's such a

:32:41.:32:47.

big guy which makes it easy to hit it, but he has a good old toss. He

:32:48.:32:52.

has the same ball toss for all of his serves as well so as a return it

:32:53.:32:57.

is difficult to anticipate which spot he will hit. Good knee bend and

:32:58.:33:02.

straight up, attacking the ball, hitting it at the highest point of

:33:03.:33:08.

contact. 3.8 metres is where he makes contact most of the time. So

:33:09.:33:12.

much power coming through your legs, but we know that in any sport, golf

:33:13.:33:19.

for example, tension is a killer. If you are gripping the racket or the

:33:20.:33:27.

golf club types, is not good. The wrist is ready to snap at the top,

:33:28.:33:30.

generate so much power. Half an hour ago I didn't think we

:33:31.:33:59.

would be talking about the sun causing problems. Now, certainly is.

:34:00.:34:17.

The northern end of the court where Murray is playing from, there is

:34:18.:34:22.

definitely a little bit of a breeze coming down the court. Murray taking

:34:23.:34:29.

a lot of his first serve there, only 90 mph.

:34:30.:35:00.

That's a smart shot, the change of pace backhand. He's a big guy, he

:35:01.:35:08.

has got to bend a long way to get under the ball to try to hit

:35:09.:35:11.

top-spin on it. Once again, Murray rolling the

:35:12.:35:29.

serving with good strength, but not an enormous mileage per hour. He has

:35:30.:35:32.

only missed one first serve so far. If you were going to talk about one

:35:33.:36:01.

specific weakness in Murray's game, you would look towards the second

:36:02.:36:06.

serve. I think it will be an interesting tactic that Murray wants

:36:07.:36:14.

to keep his high percentage at 85% first serves so Raonic doesn't get a

:36:15.:36:16.

look at the second serve. Tim is 100% right because that

:36:17.:36:40.

semifinal in Australia earlier this year, from the start Milos tried to

:36:41.:36:47.

use this big forehand return on Andy's second serve. That got into

:36:48.:36:53.

the situation where he was two sets to one up. I think that's why Andy

:36:54.:37:00.

is trying to take pace off and choose his spots, not giving him a

:37:01.:37:01.

look at his second serves. Settling in nicely for this Men's

:37:02.:37:20.

Singles final, just the single break point. To Andy Murray in Raonic's

:37:21.:37:29.

last service game, well saved with a big second serve. Football

:37:30.:37:33.

championships later this evening to look forward to, we have golf next

:37:34.:37:36.

week. Love summer. It's also interesting that mindset

:37:37.:38:51.

when Murray had of the break point in the last game, how he views that

:38:52.:38:57.

because he can say, that's good, I'm creating opportunities, but on the

:38:58.:39:01.

other side of the kind you can say, that is frustrating, I didn't take

:39:02.:39:03.

my chance. Andy Murray has been most people's

:39:04.:39:23.

pick since the beginning of the tournament, even more so when Novak

:39:24.:39:27.

Djokovic went and in round three. Yours as well? Yeah, he was, and it

:39:28.:39:36.

was a highly scientific reason... What was it? I will tell you what it

:39:37.:39:40.

was, I texted Andy before the tournament to say, good luck and

:39:41.:39:44.

have a great fortnight, and seven out of ten you do not get a reply,

:39:45.:39:52.

he is a busy boy, but... He doesn't reply to you?! But he got back and

:39:53.:39:56.

said, thanks, I have got a good feeling about this, with a little

:39:57.:40:02.

fist pump. He never says things like that, and I thought, wow, he is in a

:40:03.:40:06.

good place, he has been playing well, he fancies his chances. We

:40:07.:40:11.

would all like to wish the very best, and if he wins,

:40:12.:40:15.

congratulations, so what is his mobile number?! Becker and Edberg

:40:16.:40:24.

there, 1988, 1989, 1990, they shed three finals, and there is a lot of

:40:25.:40:30.

talking. Nicola Sturgeon as well, the First Minister of Scotland, the

:40:31.:40:33.

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. Roy

:40:34.:40:41.

Anderson, Neil Fraser, a couple of the Aussie greats. That is what

:40:42.:40:46.

really makes this tournament so special, I think, the opportunity to

:40:47.:40:50.

come out and play on one of the biggest stages in the sporting

:40:51.:40:51.

world. If there is a time when the tennis

:40:52.:42:54.

balls are going to be a little bit easier to return, on this enormous

:42:55.:43:00.

Raonic Raonic, it will be the last game before they get changed, and

:43:01.:43:06.

that is this game here. -- this enormous Raonic serve.

:43:07.:43:19.

Well, both guys have had a really solid start to this match, only the

:43:20.:43:25.

one half chance for Andy Murray, break point, receiving down the same

:43:26.:43:27.

and that he is now. -- same end. That was the volley that he missed

:43:28.:43:44.

out Queen's Club, just going behind his man. It was called in, but he

:43:45.:43:50.

challenged it. Remember it's changed the momentum, because he was a set

:43:51.:43:54.

and a break up in the final of Queen's against Murray.

:43:55.:44:07.

Warming up! I wonder if we will see 150 today, we could do.

:44:08.:44:22.

It is a way, Raonic trying to dance around his backhand to get the big

:44:23.:45:06.

forehand into play. Oh boy, oh boy, that was a bit of a

:45:07.:45:54.

bluff. He would love to have that one over again, the backhand went to

:45:55.:46:00.

such a solid pass by Andy Murray, just over hitting that one, two

:46:01.:46:07.

break points, he has ads second serves on both of them. -- he has

:46:08.:46:09.

had. Oh, this time!

:46:10.:46:47.

UMPIRE: New balls, please. 25 minutes played in this men's

:46:48.:47:05.

singles final at Wimbledon, first break to Murray. Interesting tactic

:47:06.:47:10.

from Raonic, both break points, the approach down the middle, trying to

:47:11.:47:15.

give Murray no angle on the passing shot, but once Murray had missed the

:47:16.:47:18.

first pass, there was no way he would miss the second one. Just

:47:19.:47:23.

nothing on this. Went to the forehand wing, he still had a volley

:47:24.:47:28.

but Miss hit it into the net. Andy was never going to miss that pass,

:47:29.:47:34.

he was always going to make him come up with a volley. How nice it must

:47:35.:47:39.

be for Andy Murray to see someone other than Federer or Djokovic down

:47:40.:47:46.

the other end! 11 slam finals, number 11 without one of those pesky

:47:47.:47:51.

guys. When Djokovic went out of the tournament, it was a real bombshell

:47:52.:47:54.

for the event, but he must absolutely loved it. Everybody's

:47:55.:48:00.

eyes lit up, let's be honest. Definitely, and you can see by his

:48:01.:48:05.

reaction there, a break in the first set, normal circumstances, a long

:48:06.:48:10.

way to go, good start, but he knows the importance of how few

:48:11.:48:13.

opportunities he will potentially get on Raonic's serve. So to get

:48:14.:48:22.

that out of the way is a huge start. Only the sixth time that Raonic has

:48:23.:48:28.

been broken, of course, number seven of the championships. Is similar to

:48:29.:48:35.

the semifinal against Tomas Berdych as well, with the record that he

:48:36.:48:41.

has, Andy Murray is such a heavy favourite, to get up that early

:48:42.:48:45.

break, if he can close out the first set, it makes it that much bigger a

:48:46.:48:49.

task to come back and win three out of the last four sets.

:48:50.:49:09.

It has happens down the same end, but is finally nice to have this

:49:10.:49:13.

problem here in London, the sun! At this northern end, the sun... It

:49:14.:49:48.

is about half past one, two o'clock, if you had a clock face, he will

:49:49.:49:52.

have to move the ball a little bit left, throw it a little bit left,

:49:53.:49:56.

you cannot get so much power on the ball.

:49:57.:50:16.

First ace in the match, that is how will Murray is returning. -- how

:50:17.:50:24.

well. Dusan and Vesna Raonic, both looking

:50:25.:52:11.

down proudly, both engineers, escape the conflict in Montenegro to find

:52:12.:52:16.

better job opportunities, give their children better opportunities in

:52:17.:52:17.

life, and now look. As a been as trademark during this

:52:18.:52:42.

grass court season, and here at Wimbledon, Raonic not going

:52:43.:52:45.

anywhere. Remember the Federer match, from 2-0 down, 2-0 down

:52:46.:52:50.

against David Goffin in the fourth round.

:52:51.:53:15.

Andy was a bit frustrated with himself, after two relatively easy

:53:16.:53:22.

backhands to get it back to deuce, but he realises how important it is

:53:23.:53:26.

to consolidate that break towards the end of this first set.

:53:27.:53:56.

It was a great response, wasn't it? We saw against Kyrgios, only six.

:53:57.:54:02.

Was in the whole match, eight against Berdych, so to see him make

:54:03.:54:07.

two in a row was a bit of a surprised. -- only six unforced

:54:08.:54:13.

errors. You can see already how high the

:54:14.:55:32.

second serve, the kick-serve gets up on Murray. He is trying to get

:55:33.:55:37.

inside the baseline, he shanked it, couldn't hit it clean. Doing it much

:55:38.:55:40.

better that time round. He's giving big Milos the runaround

:55:41.:56:23.

here, isn't he? The delicate stuff, the spins, drop shots. It's a torrid

:56:24.:56:34.

set now for Raonic, trying to hang in.

:56:35.:57:04.

Riccardo Piatti, and Carlos Moya of there. Route number one. First ace.

:57:05.:57:27.

When your biggest weapon is the serve, and it has taken 86 minutes

:57:28.:57:36.

to get one past him! That is not Milos serving poorly, that is how

:57:37.:57:40.

good Murray is making him play. Decent hold from 15-30 down. He will

:57:41.:58:19.

be a little nervous here, Andy Murray, won't he? Nice rhythm but it

:58:20.:58:25.

is 5-4, serving for it. He's certainly aware of the scoreline but

:58:26.:58:29.

he's very good with his experience, going back to the process, whether

:58:30.:58:34.

it is serving for the match or the sets, he has got to keep the

:58:35.:58:39.

percentage hike, hit his spots and keep Raonic on the defensive, and

:58:40.:58:44.

that's what he has done very well in the first set. He will look to close

:58:45.:58:49.

it out. He has only missed his first serve on five occasions on this

:58:50.:58:54.

first set. He hasn't put a foot wrong, he's given himself

:58:55.:58:58.

opportunities. You can see him going over his notes, he has done that

:58:59.:59:02.

every single change of ends. When they sit down for the first time,

:59:03.:59:07.

he's going over the exact game plan he and his coaching crew have worked

:59:08.:59:13.

on over the last two days, once they knew Milos was going to be the

:59:14.:59:23.

opponent in the final. At the Queen's Club he ended up getting on

:59:24.:59:28.

top of him from a set down, but so far everything is going to plan.

:59:29.:00:04.

For me it will be interesting to see how hard he hits his first serves

:00:05.:00:12.

this day. His only four points away from closing down such an important

:00:13.:00:17.

set. Does he try to get the cheap points or does he stick to the game

:00:18.:00:19.

plan? And that's that! That's very tidy,

:00:20.:02:24.

that's 41 minutes of first class play. At times from both, but it is

:02:25.:02:29.

Murray who wins it with that single break of serve and 3- three, he goes

:02:30.:02:45.

ahead. SUE BARKER: So Murray is in front.

:02:46.:02:53.

We knew he would have few chances to break the serve of Raonic but never

:02:54.:02:57.

doubt the returning skills of Andy Murray. He took his chance, got the

:02:58.:03:03.

break of serve and he is in front and now saying, you try and break

:03:04.:03:09.

me. I've never seen him look more determined, and here's one set up.

:03:10.:03:14.

Every part of his game working so well today, and Milos at the moment

:03:15.:03:19.

really struggling to match Murray. Murray is in the form of his life,

:03:20.:03:24.

so much better than in 2013. Judy knows that as well, and he's been

:03:25.:03:31.

sending messages to the crowd, and to his opponent that he is the man

:03:32.:03:36.

out there today. He is just two sets away from another when the --

:03:37.:03:43.

another Wimbledon title. Afterwards Heather Watson will be taking part

:03:44.:03:50.

in the mixed final. It is a big sporting day as well because coming

:03:51.:03:54.

up this evening it is the final of the Euros, Portugal against France,

:03:55.:04:00.

and Gary and the team will begin the at seven o'clock on BBC One. At the

:04:01.:04:05.

moment, all eyes are on Murray and he is front. ANDREW CASTLE: Out on

:04:06.:04:13.

Henman Hill they will be enjoying it, as soon as the gates open people

:04:14.:04:18.

take their position. Looking at the tennis on the big screen alongside

:04:19.:04:22.

Court Number One, which will have a roof over it in 2019, construction

:04:23.:04:32.

under way comparatively soon. That's where Andy Murray was practising a

:04:33.:04:37.

little bit earlier on. Now out on Centre Court in the sunshine, Raonic

:04:38.:04:43.

serving. And this is a very important 15 minutes in this match.

:04:44.:04:48.

Murray knows that if he can get a break of serve he can take his

:04:49.:04:53.

opponent by the scruff of the neck. Yes, he will be pushing really hard

:04:54.:04:59.

now, especially early on, the sun being an issue where Milos is.

:05:00.:05:35.

It is an area of Raonic's game that has impressed me throughout the

:05:36.:05:42.

tournament because he is a big man and sometimes you don't have the

:05:43.:05:48.

hand skills in different areas but he did well to bump that approach

:05:49.:05:51.

deep. What impresses me about Milos, he's

:05:52.:06:06.

such a hard worker, he's always wanting to improve areas of his game

:06:07.:06:10.

and that's why he's brought on Carlos Moya to bring another

:06:11.:06:14.

dimension. He's brought on John McEnroe to help on the grass. He

:06:15.:06:18.

wants to get better. Murray moving to cover that approach

:06:19.:06:40.

shot before Raonic even hit the ball.

:06:41.:08:30.

Desperate times now. Milos Raonic trying to be the first Canadian to

:08:31.:08:45.

win a Grand Slam singles title. Eugenie Bouchard in 2014 was a

:08:46.:08:51.

finalist of course, but feeling the pressure.

:08:52.:09:11.

140 mph first serve, Murray got himself into the point. Meg so few

:09:12.:09:17.

unforced errors in the whole tournament, he would be mighty

:09:18.:09:19.

disappointed if he made one there. And that is what has really

:09:20.:10:06.

improved, getting down for that low volley, that is not easy, Tim.

:10:07.:10:11.

Certainly not, and that is where Murray was trying to make life

:10:12.:10:14.

difficult for him, Raonic dealt with it well.

:10:15.:10:42.

Lovely! Versatility from Milos Raonic, and what an important four

:10:43.:10:49.

or five minutes that was, his coach standing up to applaud a great old,

:10:50.:10:57.

he needed that. -- hold. Just the willingness to take a bit of pace

:10:58.:11:14.

off, it certainly paid off, who had a peck at the serve. David Cameron

:11:15.:11:23.

on the left, talking with Mary, not a bad player himself, left-handed.

:11:24.:11:28.

He beat Nick Clegg the last three times he played him, and Boris

:11:29.:11:36.

Johnson as well! Nicola Sturgeon, the First Minister of Scotland, in

:11:37.:11:41.

attendance behind the presidents of the club, the new mayor London, as

:11:42.:11:47.

well as the Duke and Duchess. I think Raonic has to find a way to

:11:48.:12:11.

get into some of Andy Murray's service games, he is getting through

:12:12.:12:16.

them to easily at the moment. That will build pressure on the Raonic

:12:17.:12:21.

service games. If he makes so many first serves, he will have to have a

:12:22.:12:26.

go at the first server turn a little bit more.

:12:27.:14:01.

We still haven't managed to work out why the end that Murray is serving

:14:02.:14:09.

from is more worn out around and behind the baseline than the other

:14:10.:14:16.

end. We spoke to the ground staff, they don't know either.

:14:17.:14:54.

One area we felt that Raonic would be looking to have an impact as

:14:55.:15:01.

Murray's second serve, and in 53 minutes, that is only the ten second

:15:02.:15:08.

serve that Raonic has had a look at. -- tenth. Murray's first serve

:15:09.:15:10.

percentage - 70. For the tournament, he has been

:15:11.:15:33.

making six out of ten first serves, in this match seven out of ten. It

:15:34.:15:37.

is the small margins, just not opening the door for Raonic to get a

:15:38.:15:42.

break of serve and get involved in this match, it is certainly not

:15:43.:15:48.

one-way traffic, but the dominant force out there at the moment is

:15:49.:15:50.

Andy Murray. Murray has been able to win points

:15:51.:16:08.

on Raonic's service game as well, so he hasn't been under too much

:16:09.:16:11.

pressure, where sometimes the tension can build. You might end up

:16:12.:16:16.

going for it a little bit too much on first serves.

:16:17.:18:25.

So he keeps his nose in front in the second set, Raonic, but what he is

:18:26.:18:32.

serving against, these Murray returns, the positions he takes up,

:18:33.:18:36.

it is so, so difficult, and it exerts pressure. What you want when

:18:37.:18:42.

you are returning, you want be returning with instinct, the first

:18:43.:18:47.

serve at the top, one big step in and split, sync your weight on the

:18:48.:18:51.

return, that way you can push up. Second serve, Lleyton Hewitt, you

:18:52.:18:57.

will love this. I wasn't inside the baseline that far, especially on the

:18:58.:19:01.

second serve. I don't think the camera gives it justice, how good a

:19:02.:19:06.

hand you have got to have to be giving Milos Raonic a second serve

:19:07.:19:10.

so many times into play by being a couple of feet inside the baseline.

:19:11.:19:18.

And this one here, Lleyton, he hasn't played Milos Raonic's serve,

:19:19.:19:23.

that is how well he is returning. The 72% is more impressive than the

:19:24.:19:28.

73, because of the fact it is the final and because of his opponent.

:19:29.:19:32.

Spot-on, and that makes it hard for Milos Raonic, because he cannot

:19:33.:19:35.

practice against anyone who returns the ball is so often, only two guys

:19:36.:19:41.

can do a - he would have to get Novak out to serve a few against

:19:42.:19:45.

them. So many balls coming back that he is not used to playing. You could

:19:46.:19:54.

get out there! Known to make some serve and volley as have nightmares!

:19:55.:20:00.

Don't you shake your head, either! Sun breaks, second set. -- so no

:20:01.:20:06.

breaks. UMPIRE: Mr Murray is challenging the

:20:07.:21:24.

call on the left centre service line, the ball was called out.

:21:25.:21:34.

Second serve, Mr Murray has two challenges remaining.

:21:35.:22:00.

Well, Andy was just under no pressure on his service games at

:22:01.:22:07.

all, it is all one-way traffic here. Not a great feeling when you feel

:22:08.:22:10.

like you are spending the whole match serving because you'll serve

:22:11.:22:21.

is under so much pressure. -- your serve.

:22:22.:22:33.

That approach as hit the back of the baseline there, as you can see, it's

:22:34.:22:44.

just props on Andy. When it does hit the line, it does check up a little

:22:45.:22:47.

bit more, you have to be prepared for that. He will be happy it

:22:48.:22:52.

happened at 40-0. Well, obviously, importantly keeps

:22:53.:25:12.

his nose ahead, break point in the very first game of the second set

:25:13.:25:17.

against daily Raonic delivery, he survived that one. His progress

:25:18.:25:25.

continues, losing to Roger Federer previously, was not prepared for

:25:26.:25:28.

that, according to Carlos Moya. Earlier this year, he was 2-1 up

:25:29.:25:33.

against Andy Murray in the semifinal of the Australian Open, he was the

:25:34.:25:37.

man of the moments down in Australia, won nine matches,

:25:38.:25:41.

Brisbane as well. But Carlos Moya happy to say, look, it is all about

:25:42.:25:45.

progression, rarely do you step in and win the first one where you have

:25:46.:25:47.

a real shot. That is certainly what it has been

:25:48.:25:56.

with Milos Raonic. He has tried to improve and bring people on board.

:25:57.:26:00.

He pointed out early on that movement was one of the key areas.

:26:01.:26:05.

That was the big difference down in Australia, in making that semifinal

:26:06.:26:08.

and winning the Brisbane International couple of weeks

:26:09.:26:11.

beforehand and beating Roger Federer. His movement around the

:26:12.:26:15.

baseline was so much cleaner. He was able to get around and use his

:26:16.:26:18.

forehand and hide the backhand which is sometimes a weakness of his. Not

:26:19.:26:23.

surprisingly, his hero is the ice hockey legend Wayne Gretzky. I like

:26:24.:26:33.

the fact that the losses continuing to look for these marginal gains.

:26:34.:26:45.

Still windy. Andy Murray has had five first throw the ball up on

:26:46.:26:49.

first serve and has just pulled so blustery wind and some sun to deal

:26:50.:26:50.

with. Definitely a little bit breezy out

:26:51.:27:26.

there. Looking at Raonic's serving performance for the tournament up

:27:27.:27:33.

until this match, only two today were averaging seven a set.

:27:34.:28:08.

Why would you want to run around that and get your big forehand into

:28:09.:28:15.

play when you can strike it that well? This is what he has got to

:28:16.:28:22.

keep trying to do. He went for it, but just mis-hit it it. He has to

:28:23.:28:26.

keep pressing and play on the edge if he's to get back this match. --

:28:27.:28:34.

if he is to get back into this match.

:28:35.:29:12.

Disappointing from the royal box. You have got to be alert, catches

:29:13.:29:15.

with matches! Who fumbled it? I think I will have

:29:16.:29:38.

to check before I criticise. Probably Neil Fraser. He is sitting

:29:39.:29:43.

a few rows back. And he is Australian. The Australians couldn't

:29:44.:29:51.

catch a cold at the moment, could they? We are the number one test

:29:52.:29:54.

team. They are changing the balls here,

:29:55.:30:27.

50,000 of them used at the Championships. It goes up in the

:30:28.:30:32.

royal box... Well, there are several there. Nicely done in the end.

:30:33.:30:41.

Richard Baker. Good player. It was at this stage in the first

:30:42.:31:20.

set that Andy Murray broke through. The only thing he will break if he

:31:21.:31:22.

does that is his foot. He knew the importance of that first

:31:23.:31:43.

point, trying to establish himself in the game.

:31:44.:32:00.

New balls here as well. Second ball change of the match.

:32:01.:32:42.

That is five feet inside the baseline, isn't it?

:32:43.:32:56.

Now, that's how he got through Federer in the semifinal. As Pat

:32:57.:33:04.

Cash was telling us beforehand, 137 miles an hour, rising into the body.

:33:05.:33:28.

Serving and volleying behind this enormous delivery, and he is only

:33:29.:33:34.

winning half the points when he comes in. He was walking through

:33:35.:33:36.

that volley. Even though the server was 139 miles

:33:37.:34:02.

an hour, it wasn't well-placed. Murray felt like he could have

:34:03.:34:03.

blocked it back into play. Such a clever pass here. He's not

:34:04.:34:48.

going for too much, trying to make sure he gets the ball at the feet

:34:49.:34:51.

and if it comes back, ready to chase down the second ball.

:34:52.:35:22.

That is magnificent. The artistry on the backhand side from Murray, and

:35:23.:35:28.

he is really bashing on the door now. The first backhand was

:35:29.:35:35.

delicious, and the second one also. Perfect placement on this, making

:35:36.:35:42.

him stretch out enough. Gives himself another break point.

:35:43.:36:21.

Did he say forehand that? Didn't do enough with it. Neither of them did.

:36:22.:36:34.

Raonic would have been looking to do more with the approach shot that he

:36:35.:36:38.

made Murray play. Murray not able to execute the past. -- the pass.

:36:39.:38:07.

That is another big cold of serve for Raonic, who has not played

:38:08.:38:15.

badly. Such is the power of his game and such are the array of skills

:38:16.:38:20.

that he actually does bring, the sheer physical nature of his play

:38:21.:38:24.

means he is four big hits from getting a break. It can happen

:38:25.:38:29.

quickly. It certainly can, and that was when Murray was able to get the

:38:30.:38:34.

advantage and get on top. Having had opportunities in that vital seventh

:38:35.:38:37.

game and not taken them, you feel there was a bit of momentum with

:38:38.:38:40.

Raonic. He will be looking to see whether he can get his first break

:38:41.:38:45.

of serve. Always a band flow in a five set match. It is never

:38:46.:38:51.

straightforward. You felt it was swinging in and the's favour. -- in

:38:52.:39:05.

Andy's favour. Everyone has travelling videos these days --

:39:06.:39:14.

physios. We are not expecting any rain. Certainly nothing that would

:39:15.:39:26.

mean bringing this 1000 tonne roof over for any length of time.

:39:27.:39:54.

Good play by Raonic. Not only able to get the first serve back into

:39:55.:40:02.

play, but also getting around and using his forehand to get on top of

:40:03.:40:06.

the point. It is important to try and put some scoreboard pressure on

:40:07.:40:10.

early in Andy Murray's service games.

:40:11.:40:38.

It was the right tactic, but it didn't really look like he chose

:40:39.:40:44.

where he wanted to go. Was he trying to go inside out, was he trying to

:40:45.:40:48.

hook it down the line? He missed it by a long way.

:40:49.:41:01.

Sometimes in this sport, especially grass court tennis, it is only one

:41:02.:41:06.

or two points. That was one of the weaker second service by Murray,

:41:07.:41:10.

middle of the box, straight to the forehand.

:41:11.:41:23.

Turning to his right, Andy Murray, looking up at the players box,

:41:24.:43:21.

perhaps asking for more vocal support?

:43:22.:44:44.

It might not be the most significant point in the match but Murray is

:44:45.:45:10.

always sending messages. He is chasing down every ball.

:45:11.:45:18.

CHEERING That one has become a bit more

:45:19.:45:30.

significant. Why around which did not take that out of the with his

:45:31.:45:34.

overhead, his overhead is superb, I know it was a high lob on that point

:45:35.:45:38.

but that is a little bit of good fortune. It was high enough to go

:45:39.:45:40.

over. Oh, just wide. The arms come out.

:45:41.:46:18.

Passing shot from Murray, asking a very difficult question and the long

:46:19.:46:25.

arm of the law came out. Mills Raonic, just spreading, oh, and it's

:46:26.:46:29.

caught the line. He's going to be so upset with that. Three millimetres

:46:30.:46:30.

in. Replay the point. Jake Garner it from Florida in the

:46:31.:46:43.

chair. The second Wimbledon final for him.

:46:44.:46:51.

Not coming in on that. 147 mph, into the body, the quickest serve of the

:46:52.:47:09.

tournament by far. And he still lost the point! Yeah! What a passing

:47:10.:47:13.

shot. Oh, he has left it and it has fallen

:47:14.:48:33.

in, has it? Milos is challenging but I think this might have caught the

:48:34.:48:38.

line. It is tight. It was called in and it has caught the outside edge

:48:39.:48:45.

and gives him another break point. UMPIRE: Advantage, Murray, Mr Ramage

:48:46.:48:51.

has two challenges remaining. Please. Thank you. -- Mr Raonic.

:48:52.:49:06.

CROWD GASPS And once again, 141 mph, fended off.

:49:07.:49:19.

Incredible how cleanly Murray hits these returns.

:49:20.:50:02.

APPLAUSE Well... What a hold of serve that

:50:03.:50:18.

was from Raonic, superb. This was Allan Donald bowling to Mike

:50:19.:50:20.

Atherton, if you remember that, there was a sequence in there that

:50:21.:50:24.

was absolutely phenomenal, brilliant work from Milos Raonic to come

:50:25.:50:27.

through that and he certainly was not expecting it. Listen to this, a

:50:28.:50:33.

147 mph first serve, and Murray winning the point. Have a look at

:50:34.:50:34.

this. That was absolutely stunning, that

:50:35.:50:50.

he is able to do that and yet, not break serve, so we applaud Milos

:50:51.:50:54.

Raonic for coming through the fire, there, and Andy gagged a bit, to be

:50:55.:50:58.

honest, choked. Knew was a bit tight on some of the shots, the sliced

:50:59.:51:03.

backhand, the miss it forehand, and he reflect on the matter that Raonic

:51:04.:51:06.

came through against Federer in the semifinals, down 2-1, 5-4 in the

:51:07.:51:12.

fourth set, Federer had 15-40 and he got himself out of trouble and then

:51:13.:51:16.

choked in the next game. It is important Andy put that behind him,

:51:17.:51:21.

that last game. He had his opportunities but he has got to get

:51:22.:51:24.

up and down and continue to do a good job with his serve.

:51:25.:51:33.

I must add mitt, I thought you were stretching it a bit, Andrew, at the

:51:34.:51:40.

beginning of the match when you said maybe we could have 150. It might be

:51:41.:51:45.

there, as the Deborah Joe Wardle is up and the excitement builds. 4-5,

:51:46.:51:49.

second set. -- as the temperature warms up.

:51:50.:52:03.

UMPIRE: Mr Murray is challenging the call on the right baseline. The ball

:52:04.:52:10.

was called out. Lovely start for Milos Raonic if baseball has landed

:52:11.:52:14.

deep. He looks a little disappointed, as his box just

:52:15.:52:19.

indicates that it was likely to be called out and Hawk-Eye confirms it.

:52:20.:52:23.

Mr Murray has won Challenger mining. My lost sticking to his game plan as

:52:24.:52:28.

well, coming forward and asking questions. -- Milos.

:52:29.:53:39.

Sometimes come you just want if Raonic could just drop one in short,

:53:40.:53:46.

perhaps, to play something, move in behind it or something a little

:53:47.:53:50.

different? At the moment, Murray is picking him off from the back of the

:53:51.:53:51.

court. We spoke about it earlier, in the

:53:52.:54:10.

first set, if Andy keeps on giving himself opportunities to break, how

:54:11.:54:13.

positive can he stay that he is building pressure but not letting

:54:14.:54:15.

the frustration of not always getting the break of serve? This is

:54:16.:54:18.

the time where he's really had to block it out because in his mind, he

:54:19.:54:23.

would be hoping to serve for a 2-0 lead. Doing really well in this game

:54:24.:54:25.

now. UMPIRE: Let, first service. Oh, you're joking. That is superb.

:54:26.:55:36.

Just lowering the racket head down on that one and using what spin

:55:37.:55:42.

there was from Murray, just a little bit of top-spin to use. It is not

:55:43.:55:51.

ten out of ten, that one. But it was a good time to make it on the first

:55:52.:55:53.

point of the game. Perfect game, starting with that

:55:54.:57:09.

delightful backhand volley and finishing with the high version.

:57:10.:57:16.

That gives him something to work with at the beginning of the next

:57:17.:57:20.

game. Finally, a comfortable hold. Half of his service games, he has

:57:21.:57:26.

had break point against. Plus, we always got this has the potential to

:57:27.:57:29.

have a couple of tie-breakers within the five sets. Now he has got

:57:30.:57:35.

himself at least to that stage where it is a bit of a shoot-out. No one

:57:36.:57:39.

wins more tie-breaks on tour than Milos Raonic, apart from John Isner.

:57:40.:57:46.

Checking out the head to head with Murray and Raonic when they have

:57:47.:57:54.

played tie-breaks, they have played five, and Raonic has won four.

:57:55.:59:04.

It's good to be aggressive on second serve. But it's easier to drag it

:59:05.:59:12.

down the line than trying to go off. Absolutely. There is a lot more

:59:13.:59:14.

margin for error too. Andy misses this backhand passing

:59:15.:59:44.

shot, only just. Raonic was a bit fortunate with the mis-hit return.

:59:45.:00:05.

That is the right tactic and the right shot. Just couldn't quite find

:00:06.:00:10.

the target. An 11th Grand Slam final four Andy

:00:11.:01:27.

Murray. He has put himself into position so

:01:28.:01:40.

many times. He has lost the last three. He could take a huge step

:01:41.:01:43.

towards the title if he could win justice breaker. -- just this

:01:44.:01:47.

breaker. Nice mis-hit. That is very poor from

:01:48.:02:16.

Raonic, it has to be said. Raonic benefited from the mis-hit earlier

:02:17.:02:22.

in Murray's last service game. Raonic did not deal well with the

:02:23.:02:27.

approach. Buried it in the bottom of the net. Early mini-break for

:02:28.:02:28.

Murray. Just too tough from Murray.

:02:29.:02:53.

Stretches the big man. He knew how important it was to hold

:02:54.:03:12.

onto that mini-break after being given a bit of a gift in the first

:03:13.:03:15.

one, especially said against such a big server.

:03:16.:03:41.

Two first serves, consolidate the break 3-0. He will be looking for

:03:42.:03:48.

more mini-breaks here. Oh, you're joking, that is two! Oh,

:03:49.:04:59.

boy, can he move. Surprised the world box have got on their feet for

:05:00.:05:03.

that one. I would like to see that -- the royal box. Once again, Raonic

:05:04.:05:09.

electing to hit the bounce smash, and Murray read him like a book. I

:05:10.:05:15.

think he's got to let it bounce. Murray has did well to hit the log

:05:16.:05:18.

so high to give himself the opportunity to get back in the

:05:19.:05:21.

rally, but Raonic then has to do more with the smash.

:05:22.:06:04.

He hasn't put a foot wrong in this tie-breaks so far, going up 5-1 at

:06:05.:06:10.

the 10th of tents. The point before, to get up that double mini-break,

:06:11.:06:14.

the effort he put in at the back of the court to stay in the rally, keep

:06:15.:06:18.

asking the question is, that is why you do all the hard work in the

:06:19.:06:22.

preseason and the start of the year. He is physically so tough to break

:06:23.:06:27.

down out there right now. It pays off on the biggest stage. That is a

:06:28.:06:34.

rare sight. The next couple of minutes could

:06:35.:06:39.

determine this Wimbledon final. Deep second serve. He went for it,

:06:40.:08:56.

and he's taken a down step towards a second Wimbledon title here. Two

:08:57.:09:03.

sets up, 6-4, 7-6 after an hour and 47. Just one more will do the trick.

:09:04.:09:17.

SUE BARKER: so, two sets up. Murray not happy, but he should be happy

:09:18.:09:20.

when he looks at the scoreboard because that was this an sessional

:09:21.:09:23.

tie-break. We were worried when Tim was telling us he had only won one

:09:24.:09:27.

out of five tie-breaks in previous matches, but this was a whole new

:09:28.:09:31.

Andy Murray. Raonic certainly will not want to look back at that first

:09:32.:09:35.

point in the tie-break. That really was a bad miss. But Murray took it.

:09:36.:09:40.

He went 3-0 up and then got better and better. He has looked like a

:09:41.:09:45.

brick wall at the back of the court. Nothing has got past him. He is

:09:46.:09:49.

swatting back these serves of over 140 mph. Murray has never looked

:09:50.:09:55.

more focused, and he's focused on winning his second Wimbledon title.

:09:56.:09:59.

He is now just one set away. What a different feeling that must be

:10:00.:10:02.

former loss Raonic now, knowing he has got to win in five. Three long

:10:03.:10:08.

sets for the Canadian, but just one set for Andy Murray to claim a

:10:09.:10:14.

second Wimbledon title. And Judy is happy too. And our old rising on

:10:15.:10:26.

Henman Hill as well, watching the British number one take it to have

:10:27.:10:31.

an zero to lead. We have Heather Watson coming up later on Centre

:10:32.:10:33.

Court for the Mixed Doubles final hole and a big day of sport because

:10:34.:10:41.

the Euro final, Portugal versus France, is at seven o'clock on BBC

:10:42.:10:42.

One. And more tennis next week, the

:10:43.:10:53.

quarterfinal of the Davis Cup, Serbia against Great Britain, no

:10:54.:10:56.

Novak Djokovic and we will find out if Andy Murray will play soon after

:10:57.:11:00.

the final. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the quarterfinal of the

:11:01.:11:04.

Davis Cup but here, Murray is in charge, 2-0 up in sets and one away

:11:05.:11:12.

from a second title. ANDREW CASTLE: And Mills Raonic has not had a break

:11:13.:11:18.

point yet. The tie-break was all Murray, and he had the chances in

:11:19.:11:22.

that set. Just in case we start celebrating a bit too early, Bridges

:11:23.:11:26.

Richter here, in the sunshine, let me just say that Raonic, for the

:11:27.:11:29.

first time in his career in this tournament, in the fourth round,

:11:30.:11:33.

came from two sets down to beat David Goffin. So that gives you a

:11:34.:11:39.

sense of invincibility when you do that, and against Federer, he was

:11:40.:11:43.

two sets to one down as well, so a long way to go. Various people have

:11:44.:11:50.

popped out and they will pop back in again, no doubt. Ivan Lendl. He has

:11:51.:11:57.

gone out, and Benedict Cumberbatch, there, with his wife, Sophie, baby

:12:18.:12:26.

afternoon. 41 matches stray, once upon a time, yawn ball, there, with

:12:27.:12:31.

his wife Patricia. -- matches straight.

:12:32.:12:38.

A nice selection of watches up there today. Milos just taking a couple of

:12:39.:12:48.

minutes away, here. Just a reminder on the Davis Cup, by the way, next

:12:49.:12:53.

week, Friday, Saturday and Sunday across BBC TV and radio, no Viktor

:12:54.:12:57.

Troicki which is also crucial, the number two Serbian. The British

:12:58.:13:02.

Davis Cup team have already left and they will be in Belgrade by now,

:13:03.:13:05.

getting ready for the clay-court tie. I don't think Leon Smith, the

:13:06.:13:10.

captain, for a moment think that Andy Murray will be there. What with

:13:11.:13:16.

the Olympics and the US Open build-up as well, I think he is

:13:17.:13:20.

probably expecting Andy Murray to pull out, which would be a shame.

:13:21.:13:28.

The Canadians lost this year to France under the captaincy of

:13:29.:13:32.

Yannick Budd, playing in Guadeloupe, in the Caribbean. That was a great

:13:33.:13:35.

shout from Yannick Noah, a nice part of the world to go and play your

:13:36.:13:41.

home tie! They will have a world group play-off match, Canada, in

:13:42.:13:44.

September. Lleyton Hewitt, captain of the Australian Davis Cup team

:13:45.:13:48.

pulled up how was your year, what do you play next? We went down to the

:13:49.:13:51.

US in the first round, playing on a temporary grass court, in pretty

:13:52.:13:56.

much the home of Australian tennis for so many years, but we are

:13:57.:14:00.

waiting until September now to play in the play-offs. Obviously, we were

:14:01.:14:05.

disappointed to get knocked out but we did not have our best team

:14:06.:14:07.

either, which made it slightly tougher.

:14:08.:14:37.

Murray, making his feelings felt, there, about how long Raonic what of

:14:38.:14:45.

the court, for -- was off the court for. The first double faults of the

:14:46.:14:50.

match for Murray, only his seventh of the tournament.

:14:51.:15:27.

By which, it was good. Replay the point. -- UMPIRE: Correction, it was

:15:28.:15:37.

good, replay the point. Murray fortunate coming year, 0-15 down and

:15:38.:15:40.

Raonic came up with a great crosscourt forehand to drag him out

:15:41.:15:45.

of play. Got called out by the line judge but a quick overall from Jake

:15:46.:15:46.

Garner, in the chair. -- overrule. APPLAUSE

:15:47.:16:13.

It was a fairly lengthy delay in between sets, when Milos went and

:16:14.:16:19.

looked like he'd changed shorts and shirt as well. But I think he's just

:16:20.:16:24.

trying to regroup and focus. He knows if he goes down an early break

:16:25.:16:28.

in this third set, then the final could be over.

:16:29.:16:33.

APPLAUSE When you leave the court, you are

:16:34.:16:41.

escorted by one of the officials. But changing clothing? I think 2-0

:16:42.:16:49.

down in sets, he was probably trying to look to break up the rhythm

:16:50.:16:53.

little bit. Just pop up to Wimbledon Common and have a little look

:16:54.:16:54.

around! Ma'am was very happy to say earlier

:16:55.:17:52.

in the build-up to the final that his dad was never a coach, just a

:17:53.:17:54.

ball machine fella. -- his ma'am. The final of the Australian Open for

:17:55.:18:24.

the fifth time earlier this year, losing to Novak Djokovic, Andy

:18:25.:18:28.

Murray, and his first final of the French Open recently at Roland

:18:29.:18:31.

Garros, there are four majors every year in our sport. He got up there

:18:32.:18:34.

but lost to Novak once again. It has been quite some time since

:18:35.:18:46.

Murray, despite being so close, so many times, has actually captured

:18:47.:18:50.

one of these championships. No Canadian has ever won grand slam

:18:51.:18:52.

singles title. -- a grand slam. Again, great retrieving from Murray

:18:53.:19:31.

but there's no way that Raonic should be losing that point.

:19:32.:19:37.

Opportunities to put the ball away and down 0-15, he's immediately

:19:38.:19:39.

under pressure. Two really good responses here by

:19:40.:21:19.

Milos Raonic. Down 0-15, and trouble in a rally from the baseline, looked

:21:20.:21:22.

to come in, the next two points. A big change of pace on the first

:21:23.:21:37.

serve, only 107, kick-serve out wide, serve-volley.

:21:38.:21:53.

APPLAUSE UMPIRE: New balls, please.

:21:54.:22:04.

New tennis balls, and therefore, a new tennis racket or a new string

:22:05.:22:13.

anywhere, for Milos Raonic. They are installed at 68 Fahrenheit, exactly,

:22:14.:22:16.

the tennis balls that are coming out now. -- they are stored. The used

:22:17.:22:21.

once, some of them are sold at the ground and some of them go to clubs.

:22:22.:22:27.

If Raonic has been serving with them, you might want to try to

:22:28.:22:34.

negotiate. The new mayor of London, there.

:22:35.:22:58.

It's funny, Andy Murray turned around after winning that point

:22:59.:24:13.

because he heard a roar from Milos Raonic, screaming at himself. So

:24:14.:24:20.

accustomed to the big Canadian showing no emotion out there, that's

:24:21.:24:23.

the second time today he's been really frustrated that he hasn't

:24:24.:24:25.

been able to keep an easy ball in play.

:24:26.:24:45.

Over two hours of play in this Wimbledon final. I don't know

:24:46.:25:56.

whether John McEnroe, who is coaching Milos Raonic, or a least

:25:57.:26:00.

coaching, I suspect that will go on, but I don't know whether he will

:26:01.:26:05.

have access to what they show here. Murray's first serve placement here,

:26:06.:26:11.

gents, points won are in the yellow. He has won 100% of the points.

:26:12.:26:15.

Either brilliant coaching, or just great tactics. Out wide on the deuce

:26:16.:26:22.

caught, 100% when he goes out wide. Saronic's forehand against the

:26:23.:26:25.

Murray first serve, totally ineffectual today. Raonic is just

:26:26.:26:30.

trying to take a big swing from the side as well. So he is not catching

:26:31.:26:39.

it as cleanly as he probably hoped. Down the outside, that is Andy

:26:40.:26:44.

Murray's go to serve. Used it against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and hit

:26:45.:26:48.

it perfectly against Tomas Berdych, and he has continued today. Tim, 86%

:26:49.:26:55.

first serve points won. It has been an efficient performance, as well as

:26:56.:26:59.

some highlights from Andy Murray. It certainly has. He has delivered in

:27:00.:27:05.

the key departments. Winners to unforeseen errors, 27 winners, just

:27:06.:27:12.

seven unforced errors. I think if you were trying to build a game plan

:27:13.:27:15.

against Murray, I think you have got to force him to serve in the other

:27:16.:27:20.

direction. You have to cover the one at the middle to make him hit up 34

:27:21.:27:23.

out wide. To try and get him to move away from

:27:24.:27:29.

those go to serves. Gutsy play from Raonic, because it

:27:30.:28:56.

is easy when you see passing shots keep going by you, to give up on

:28:57.:29:00.

that tactic. But he still has to have the belief to move forward.

:29:01.:29:26.

Andy Murray doing so well. Another big serve, trying to get it back in

:29:27.:29:33.

play. Raonic had to play a high backhand volley. He couldn't do

:29:34.:29:35.

enough with it. Not to be this time for Murray. It

:29:36.:30:02.

is unbelievable. It is the return, the fact that Raonic is coming back.

:30:03.:30:07.

He knows it. That is really good from him,

:30:08.:30:50.

because with a missed forehand volley, under pressure, to lose his

:30:51.:30:57.

serve and potentially his shot at Wimbledon, but he came out with some

:30:58.:31:01.

great serving, sticking with what he does best.

:31:02.:31:11.

He served 537 first serves in this championship, Raonic, and he has

:31:12.:31:20.

come to the net behind 173. Murray 398, and he has come in twice.

:31:21.:31:33.

Raonic wins the first point of the Murray game again. Let's see if he

:31:34.:31:39.

is edging and looking for the swinging serve on this point. It is

:31:40.:31:46.

the one we just showed for that Andy Murray has had so much success with

:31:47.:31:47.

today. Would you believe it? There you go.

:31:48.:32:09.

First time he has got the serve down the middle and lost the point.

:32:10.:32:45.

Good serve from Murray but again, Raonic has got to head over that

:32:46.:32:53.

where little bit. The coach knows this is a moment

:32:54.:33:31.

now. Right out of the middle. Big forehand return, but only 82 miles

:33:32.:33:33.

an hour on that second serve. It is the first break point that

:33:34.:33:52.

Raonic has had this match. This is the second. Milos was looking for

:33:53.:33:59.

the one out wide. He got a bit lucky. He was too far ahead of the

:34:00.:34:01.

ball. You can almost sense the tension in

:34:02.:34:37.

the crowd. He played him back in, Raonic. Great

:34:38.:35:12.

pass. He has got the crowd fired up and

:35:13.:35:32.

now he wants his box to fire up. UMPIRE: Game, Murray. Well, unless

:35:33.:36:03.

they get that pom-poms out, what are they supposed to do? He's just

:36:04.:36:11.

needing something from that, isn't he? Any sort of communication. Is

:36:12.:36:15.

that what happens, is that a habit? Or is that something he needs or is

:36:16.:36:21.

useful to him at this point? Well, he is using it the right way. That

:36:22.:36:26.

was a massive game. He could feel the pressure. It is really game on

:36:27.:36:32.

again in this third set. He is trying to draw everything out of the

:36:33.:36:40.

crowd. He is as positive as can be at the moment. But he knows he is

:36:41.:36:47.

possibly only a breakaway from turning this match. You used to know

:36:48.:36:57.

-- you used to let your player box no.

:36:58.:37:20.

That is how good Andy Murray's hands are, able still to fight it off. The

:37:21.:39:02.

change-up is normally a slower delivery. That one, he just pushed

:39:03.:39:05.

through a bit quicker. That hold of serve was really worthy

:39:06.:39:45.

of respect after the disappointment of the game before.

:39:46.:40:40.

A really good first serve, a cheap point after the double faults.

:40:41.:41:58.

Two hours and 21 minutes played and Raonic cannot break this Andy Murray

:41:59.:42:47.

serve. Two sets to love to Andy Murray, congratulations to Gordon

:42:48.:42:50.

Reid, British success already today in the wheelchair singles end, the

:42:51.:42:54.

first time they have taken place in this particular discipline, he has

:42:55.:42:58.

beaten Stefan Olsson. Amazing story, the wheelchair tennis players,

:42:59.:43:03.

wonderful to know. He lost the use of his legs ten years ago through

:43:04.:43:07.

transfers myelitis and this year, has won the Austrian open and the

:43:08.:43:11.

first wobbled in championship. Jordanne Whiley, another great

:43:12.:43:15.

story, the top seeds have won the ladies wheelchair doubles, she and

:43:16.:43:20.

Yui Kamiji. And in the juniors, Alex De Minaur, one of yours, an

:43:21.:43:25.

Australian? Yes, a young 17-year-old, went down in a very

:43:26.:43:29.

tight match today, 6-3 in the third. He has had a really good week,

:43:30.:43:33.

though. His first junior grand slam final. The 1973 champion, there.

:43:34.:43:41.

That was the year of the boycott, 13 of the top 16 did not play. Dinesh

:43:42.:43:55.

Belova 's of Canada, the victory in the junior boys. There is Stan, such

:43:56.:44:01.

memories of him leaping over the net on this court.

:44:02.:44:33.

APPLAUSE How many times have we seen quick

:44:34.:45:56.

service returned just as quick? It about hand eye coordination and that

:45:57.:45:59.

man is, whisper it, six points away. APPLAUSE

:46:00.:46:58.

Well, it never got up high enough to hit it on the bounce overhead this

:46:59.:47:02.

time. Great defence again. This is the one. Milos has a good look at

:47:03.:47:06.

it... He comes through again. He has done

:47:07.:47:23.

himself proud in this final, no matter what happens.

:47:24.:47:34.

There was a couple of clutch ground strokes by him at 30-30, a great

:47:35.:47:41.

backhand down the line, and then had the courage to back himself again

:47:42.:47:47.

with a big forehand approach. Must be on a commercial break on American

:47:48.:47:48.

TV. John McEnroe silent, into it. Six aces apiece, and that against

:47:49.:49:37.

one of the biggest serves of all time. John Isner, Karlovic, Raonic,

:49:38.:49:43.

these are amazing deliveries. Dad up in the players box and

:49:44.:50:45.

father-in-law, Nigel Sears, as well as his mother-in-law. Understanding

:50:46.:50:50.

the importance of this situation and it is remarkable that Murray has

:50:51.:50:54.

been able to make that many returns and get his racket on that many of

:50:55.:51:01.

these Raonic serves. The anticipation is so remarkable that

:51:02.:51:04.

Raonic is hitting fewer aces than Murray. I find that extraordinary.

:51:05.:51:10.

It is a cue Millard of pressure, isn't it? It is both their

:51:11.:51:16.

strengths, the Raonic serve against the Murray return. Throughout the

:51:17.:51:20.

day, so far, the Murray return has come up trumps. He has been able to

:51:21.:51:25.

build that pressure. Now we are really going to see how Milos holds

:51:26.:51:31.

up, serving to stay in the championship. Bears the speed

:51:32.:51:36.

element of how quickly Murray picks up the ball. It's also the

:51:37.:51:40.

technique. Short swings, keeping the racket out in front. Firm wrist,

:51:41.:51:45.

using the pace of Raonic when he can get his racket on the ball. And

:51:46.:51:53.

serving first in this third set. That gives him an opportunity to

:51:54.:51:59.

break the Championships. -- for the Championships.

:52:00.:52:27.

A hold to love, just when he needed it. Extending this final.

:52:28.:54:26.

Carlos Moedas, -- Carlos Moya, urging his player to believe coming

:54:27.:54:39.

year, to try to break serve, to give himself an opportunity to serve the

:54:40.:54:40.

third set. Exquisite touch after two hours and

:54:41.:56:58.

35 minutes. Raonic once again, very clean game last time. We have got so

:56:59.:57:06.

many statistics in front of us, aces, double faults, break point

:57:07.:57:10.

opportunities. I always feel with Murray will should have a drop shot

:57:11.:57:15.

start. I think that was his first drop shot of the match, which is

:57:16.:57:21.

unusual for him. It just feels pretty good when you are 40-0 up to

:57:22.:57:30.

try that out. Five gold medals for Steven Redgrave. Milos Raonic will

:57:31.:57:41.

be in Rio as well. The Games commencing on the fifth. Andy Murray

:57:42.:57:49.

will be down there with Jamie Murray, and Milos to serve. Is this

:57:50.:57:55.

the last game of the championship in the men's? Both boxes on their feet.

:57:56.:00:03.

Raonic was throwing absolutely everything into this game, as he

:00:04.:00:09.

showed. The previous point hitting a massive second serve ace, putting it

:00:10.:00:14.

all out there at the moment. Here we go again then. Murray won

:00:15.:01:29.

the tie-break victory away from Wimbledon, the second title against

:01:30.:01:41.

Raonic. He needs to win it to keep the final alive.

:01:42.:02:12.

Murray got off to a great start in the second set tie-break, got the

:02:13.:02:23.

early mini-break. Onto the first point in his own serve, now will

:02:24.:02:30.

look to do the same on Raonic's serve.

:02:31.:02:45.

Andy Murray loves a target on the backhand side. The approach was

:02:46.:02:55.

deep, but Murray is just licking his lips at those ones. 15 backhand

:02:56.:03:00.

winners, as the breeze gets up. We need a dust devil here on Centre

:03:01.:03:02.

Court. How good were those two points? Is

:03:03.:03:43.

the biggest server in the world at the moment, and able to find a way.

:03:44.:03:46.

His defensive skills are amazing. Andy Murray is having a lovely time

:03:47.:04:53.

now! Dictating on the forehand side, surging to another Wimbledon title

:04:54.:05:05.

surely now. 5-0. Yes, do it now. Don't worry about your own serve,

:05:06.:05:14.

says Jamie Delgado. Raonic to serve two.

:05:15.:06:02.

Changing ends after six points, and for the second tie-breaker in a row,

:06:03.:06:11.

the second set in a row, it is 5-1 as they change. Even in such a

:06:12.:06:18.

dominant position, he would like that shot back again. I can count on

:06:19.:06:22.

one hand how many times he has missed that in a match.

:06:23.:07:42.

UMPIRE: Let, first service. All good things worth waiting for.

:07:43.:08:12.

It is pretty clear where Murray would like to hit this first serve.

:08:13.:08:46.

He's there! Straight sets against! Wimbledon champion again, the

:08:47.:09:18.

supreme performance, a first-class tournament. Andy Murray defeats

:09:19.:09:27.

Milos Raonic, whose improvement has been a delight to watch. But it is

:09:28.:09:32.

Murray's time in the sunshine of Centre Court once again.

:09:33.:09:43.

Certainly a victory for teamwork, friends, family, coaches, all play a

:09:44.:10:23.

part but it is T Murray, and he's the boss. And now it comes out. --

:10:24.:10:32.

Team Murray. A lifetime ambition realised in 2013. And he's backed it

:10:33.:10:39.

up again, three years later, and again, he had to wait, three grand

:10:40.:10:43.

slam finals have come and gone between that last victory and now.

:10:44.:10:49.

And I get the feeling that Milos Raonic will be back, Tim? He's

:10:50.:10:53.

certainly well, it's been a fantastic Coleman on the grass for

:10:54.:10:56.

both of these players but you can see from Murray's reaction at the

:10:57.:11:00.

end, the build-up of the pressure of those grand slam final losses, the

:11:01.:11:06.

month on grass, and finally, getting the job done for his second

:11:07.:11:11.

Wimbledon title. What does it feel like to watch that? It's amazing. It

:11:12.:11:15.

gives you goose bumps sitting year now. So impressive, not just the

:11:16.:11:20.

match today, he didn't put but wrong, he played his game plan. You

:11:21.:11:27.

did that! Yeah! How he bounced back in that quarter final against

:11:28.:11:31.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, too, after dropping two sets, fighting it off

:11:32.:11:38.

early in the fifth. It's a product. SUE BARKER: Ladies and gentlemen, it

:11:39.:11:43.

is time now for the trophy presentation for the men's signals

:11:44.:11:48.

-- singles. These were mum to God his Royal Highness the Duke of Kent,

:11:49.:11:52.

President of the all England lawn tennis club, along with chairman

:11:53.:11:55.

Philip Brooke and the president of the Lawn Tennis Association.

:11:56.:11:59.

APPLAUSE A quick congratulations to the 250

:12:00.:12:12.

ball boys and ball girls who trained so hard and went through a rigorous

:12:13.:12:18.

selection process to earn their place at the Championships. And the

:12:19.:12:22.

best of the best were on court here today. They get quicker and fitter

:12:23.:12:35.

and faster each year. Lets go and eat, let's go! Lets go and eat,

:12:36.:12:37.

let's go! Let's go Andy, first, please show your appreciation

:12:38.:12:50.

for the Charun fire, -- chair umpire, Jake Garner. ANDREW CASTLE:

:12:51.:12:57.

A second Wimbledon final for Jake Garner in the chair, five US Opens

:12:58.:13:01.

as well, a good job by the man from Florida. SUE BARKER: And next, the

:13:02.:13:09.

Championships referee, Andrew Jarrett. Andrew Jarrett had plenty

:13:10.:13:16.

to deal with, people's Sunday for the first time since 2004, and a bit

:13:17.:13:20.

of catching up to do in the second week. And now, to the runner-up,

:13:21.:13:40.

Milos Raonic! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE After two semifinal losses at this

:13:41.:13:47.

level, a final. He beat Federer and came back against coffin. He earned

:13:48.:13:48.

his place but Murray was too good. And the Wimbledon champion of 2016,

:13:49.:14:02.

Andy Murray! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE Well, now, a word with the

:14:03.:14:48.

runner-up, Milos Raonic, with Sue Barker stop Milos, you threw

:14:49.:14:54.

everything at him but he faced a Murray on a mission today. Yeah,

:14:55.:15:00.

it's a difficult challenge, as it is and Andy has been playing great and

:15:01.:15:04.

he deserves to be winning here for a second time. APPLAUSE

:15:05.:15:06.

Congratulations to him. This one's going to staying. I'm

:15:07.:15:22.

going to make sure, as these courts are green, that I do everything I

:15:23.:15:26.

can to be back here for another chance. APPLAUSE

:15:27.:15:37.

We know you will, Milos. You have had a wonderful tournament, beating

:15:38.:15:40.

Roger Federer, got so much positive moments to look back on. Yeah, it's

:15:41.:15:45.

been a phenomenal two weeks at this tournament, a phenomenal week just

:15:46.:15:51.

before that at Queen's as well. So I keep plugging away, every single

:15:52.:15:55.

day, I tried to get better, to give myself the chances and I'm going to

:15:56.:15:58.

be continuing to do the same because there's nothing I want more than to

:15:59.:16:02.

be back here. I know you are very much part of a team as well. Would

:16:03.:16:06.

you like to say a few words to your team? Thank you to my team, everyone

:16:07.:16:11.

is and not here, especially my family. We have dealt with a lot and

:16:12.:16:16.

I'm not always the easiest deal with but I'm sure everyone is happy and

:16:17.:16:20.

proud in these moments. We are going to try to make them better and try

:16:21.:16:25.

to keep improving. You know, I love them all very much. We know we will

:16:26.:16:29.

see you in many more Wimbledon finals. Congratulations on a great

:16:30.:16:32.

tournament, Mills Raonic! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:16:33.:16:42.

-- Milos Raonic. Canada, so proud of their man but here comes:'s Andy

:16:43.:16:45.

Murray, again the Wimbledon champion! You are hugging that

:16:46.:16:52.

trophy. Feel good? Yeah, obviously... LAUGHTER

:16:53.:16:57.

The most important tournament for me every year. We've had some great

:16:58.:17:02.

moments here and also some tough losses and obviously, the winds feel

:17:03.:17:06.

extra special because of the tough losses. So yeah, I'm proud to have

:17:07.:17:09.

my hands on the trophy again. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:17:10.:17:17.

I said Milos was throwing everything at you. Serving over 140 mph, coming

:17:18.:17:23.

in at you and you had to be at your best and you were. Yeah, I played

:17:24.:17:27.

really good stuff today but Milos has had a great few weeks on the

:17:28.:17:31.

grass and had some unbelievable wins. His match against Roger in the

:17:32.:17:35.

semifinals, I don't know how many people that are here today were

:17:36.:17:38.

watching that but it was a great, great match. APPLAUSE

:17:39.:17:46.

He is one of the harder workers out there, like he said, he's always

:17:47.:17:50.

trying to improve and get better and each time I play against him, he's

:17:51.:17:55.

made big improvements. He also has an extremely nice team as well,

:17:56.:18:01.

Carlos, Ricardo and John as well, part of his team. Physical trainers

:18:02.:18:07.

and physios as well, they are always extremely nice and very polite and

:18:08.:18:12.

well mannered. LAUGHTER It's true! It is not always the

:18:13.:18:18.

case. Yeah, sorry about the day but great job in the last few weeks!

:18:19.:18:22.

LAUGHTER I know John will like to hear that

:18:23.:18:25.

but what about your team? Ivan doesn't give much away when he's

:18:26.:18:31.

watching, does he? He's just lucky! LAUGHTER

:18:32.:18:35.

APPLAUSE I mean, a big thank you to all of my

:18:36.:18:48.

team for the hard work they have put into helping me get here, and also

:18:49.:18:52.

my family as well, who are watching up there. I love all of you. Thank

:18:53.:19:00.

you. One last question, it was so emotional in 2013 after being the

:19:01.:19:03.

first British man to win in 77 years. Do you think you can enjoy

:19:04.:19:07.

this one a little more? I'm going to make sure I do. Last time, I was so

:19:08.:19:12.

relieved, I felt I was very nervous today but so much stress and

:19:13.:19:16.

pressure, I did not get the chance to enjoy it as much so I'll make

:19:17.:19:19.

sure I enjoy this one tonight, Pichot. What about this crowd and

:19:20.:19:29.

the crowd on the Hill? How much do they play a part? Just a huge thank

:19:30.:19:32.

you to everyone that came out to support, amazing. CHEERING

:19:33.:19:36.

An amazing atmosphere, lots of ex-players and legends watching as

:19:37.:19:39.

well. It's a pleasure to play in front of you, and the Prime Minister

:19:40.:19:40.

as well, here! APPLAUSE You know, I think playing in a

:19:41.:19:55.

Wimbledon finalist but I would not like to be Prime Minister, it's an

:19:56.:20:00.

impossible job! LAUGHTER Thanks, everyone, for coming out and

:20:01.:20:04.

I will see you again next year. Thank you. Well done, Andy Murray,

:20:05.:20:08.

so much to be proud of in British sport. The Wimbledon champion, Andy

:20:09.:20:10.

Murray! And now, Richard Lewis, the chief

:20:11.:20:24.

executive, will take both players around Centre Court, fall of the

:20:25.:20:27.

photo opportunities that will find their way into the newspapers

:20:28.:20:34.

tomorrow. -- for all of. Members of the public in all four corners of

:20:35.:20:39.

this wonderful stadium, in graded in 1922 and has seen so many changes in

:20:40.:20:45.

itself, with the atmosphere. -- inaugurated in. Fabulous once again

:20:46.:20:48.

and for a British victory, Tim Henman, that was 77 years in the

:20:49.:20:52.

making last time. This felt different. It felt like he was going

:20:53.:20:56.

to do it but he had to get the job done. Very much so and the way this

:20:57.:21:00.

tournament has evolved, Djokovic obviously going out in the other

:21:01.:21:05.

half of the draw, there was a lot of focus and expectation, as ever, an

:21:06.:21:08.

Andy, but whatever has been thrown at him, he's dealt with it so well

:21:09.:21:13.

and you can see the relief when he finally got over the finish line

:21:14.:21:17.

again. I think it is very telling when he talks about how in 2013, he

:21:18.:21:22.

did not really enjoy the victory and I really hope that he savours this

:21:23.:21:26.

one because it is so special. It is incredible how hard he works, what

:21:27.:21:32.

he puts into his game. He is reaping the fruits of his labour. He is

:21:33.:21:40.

certainly an example, isn't he, both in work ethic and now the demeanour,

:21:41.:21:46.

so comfortable, with the spotlight on him. And the ability to perform

:21:47.:21:50.

under pressure that comes with training and effort and what a year

:21:51.:21:54.

for both of them, as they became parents for the first time, and just

:21:55.:22:00.

five months after that happy event, a different, another wonderful thing

:22:01.:22:09.

in their lives. Milos Raonic, nice words in this speech but just as at

:22:10.:22:13.

Queen's, he sees Murray beat him in the end.

:22:14.:22:19.

And Andy Murray takes the cup around Centre Court. It used to be the

:22:20.:22:27.

Field Up, but William Renshaw took it home because the won it three

:22:28.:22:31.

times in a row and now the Challenge Cup as well and now they take a

:22:32.:22:35.

three quarters size replica. It does not live to far-away from here. You

:22:36.:22:40.

can pop into the trophy room and say, "That is what I won". For the

:22:41.:22:48.

record, and it's not about money, a 5% increase in prize money this

:22:49.:22:52.

year, ?2 million to the winner, ?1 million to the runner-up. Something

:22:53.:23:03.

of a change in the complexion of the sport at the moment, with no Rafa

:23:04.:23:07.

Nadal here, who has delivered so much pain to Andy Murray in the

:23:08.:23:11.

past. A bad wrist has captain out of the game. Roger Federer, playing

:23:12.:23:15.

well but not getting any younger and one wonders how many more times Andy

:23:16.:23:20.

Murray will be in this position, potentially many more. That will be

:23:21.:23:28.

his decision, whether he plays in the Davis Cup against Serbia, the

:23:29.:23:36.

tie that you can see on BBC from Friday. We hope you can join us for

:23:37.:23:37.

that. Lest we forget, the Mixed Doubles

:23:38.:23:57.

with British interest coming up here on Centre Court which will be a

:23:58.:24:01.

wonderful way for us to say goodbye to the Championships, as we say

:24:02.:24:04.

goodbye to the champion, Andy Murray. A command performance, a

:24:05.:24:15.

commanding performance in all ways. Straight sets, for Andy Murray.

:24:16.:24:28.

And the moment of triumph! He kept us waiting a little bit. It was not

:24:29.:24:36.

like the last game against Nomura Djokovic in 2013, where one felt

:24:37.:24:40.

that it could all turn round on him. -- against Novak Djokovic. But when

:24:41.:24:46.

he became favourite for the tournament, when Djokovic went out,

:24:47.:24:53.

the pressure on his own shoulders certainly did not diminish the man.

:24:54.:24:57.

In fact, he got stronger as the tournament went on. Think back to

:24:58.:25:00.

Wednesday evening and that glorious match against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

:25:01.:25:07.

that he won 6-1 in the third set and the desire he showed them. Anyway,

:25:08.:25:11.

this is achievement in action. Well done, everybody. What an appointment

:25:12.:25:15.

Ivan Lendl was, the Sunday before Wimbledon.

:25:16.:25:30.

Murray, the champion once again at Wimbledon. Superb. SUE BARKER: Thank

:25:31.:25:44.

you, and shortly we will be looking back at the crucial moment. Heather

:25:45.:25:51.

Watson and her partner will be bidding to win the Mixed Doubles

:25:52.:25:56.

final so lots more to come from Wimbledon, and there will be

:25:57.:26:04.

coverage of the euro 2016 final between France and Portugal. So the
