Good evening. A daughter of Jean McConville has said she is hopeful

that the family will raise the money to take a civil case against the

Sinn Fein President for the murder of their mother. Mrs McConville was

killed by the IRA in 1972 leaving her ten children orphaned. Gerry

Adams, who has always denied having anything to do with her death, was

released yesterday after being in police custody since Wednesday

night. A file will be sent to the Public Prosecution Service later

this week but it is thought hat unless significant new evidence

comes to light, he will not face any charge.

Politicians here have been giving their reaction today to misty Adams'

release. More than 18,000 people have taken

part in this year's Belfast Marathon. The race was won by Freddy

Sittuk from Kenya in a time of two hours 18 minutes and 30 seconds.
