Good evening. Tributes have been paid to the five

service personnel who died in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan

yesterday. Two of the five men were from Wales: Captain Tom Clarke from

Cowbridge, and Lance Corporal Oliver Thomas, a 26-year-old reservist from

Brecon. Matt Murray reports. Lance Corporal Oliver Thomas from

Thomas said... The Ministry of Defence has

confirmed the accident happened during a routine flight and that the

crash site close to Kandahar airfield has been cordoned off. The

investigation into this accident is ongoing. But this is not the time

now for speculation or comment. Our focus for the immediate future is to

ensure that the families receive the support they need at this most

difficult of times. The UK Government has said the fleet of

Lynx helicopters have been judged safe to continue to operate while a

thorough investigation is carried out into this crash.

A UK Government minister is calling for the Electoral Commission to face

a "full investigation". It follows its decision to allow a far-right

political party to use the name of the murdered soldier, Lee Rigby, on

Welsh ballot papers for next month's European election. Here's our

political reporter, James Williams. Fusilier Lee Rigby was murdered in

Prague daylight on the streets of London. Returning to his barracks

last May, the soldier was stabbed to death by Michael Adebolajo and

Michael Adebolajo in what the judge called a barbaric incident as he

sentenced both to life in prison. The anniversary of the crime falls

amid the bigger the peanut elections and Welsh voting slips will include

an option for the far right party Britain First, alongside the slogan

Tim Mack one. Founded by former members of the BNP, the party will

only use the slogan in Wales. -- Remember Lee Rigby. Yesterday the

Electoral Commission said it was sorry for the offence and have

apologised to Lee Rigby's family. Jenny Watson, the chairperson of

their Electoral Commission, said Britain First's slogan should never

have been permitted and went on to say that although it would be used

in other elections, the watchdog cannot change the ballot papers for

next month's European elections. Before then, the Westminster Cabinet

Office Minister is asking for a full investigation. He sent his letter to

the Speaker of the House of Commons and said he hopes states are taken

to prevent such a thing happening again.

People in Wrexham have gathered to protest against the closure of a

leisure centre. The Plas Madoc Centre closed tonight and will be

demolished in October unless campaigners can find a way of

reopening it. The council decided to close it, despite local opposition,

to save money. Campaigners want to take it over and run it as a social

enterprise. Cardiff City's game against

Sunderland is featured on Match Of The Day 2 in a few minutes, so if

you don't want to know what happened, it's time to do something

else. A ten-man Cardiff City have been

hammered 4-0 by fellow strugglers Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

The result leaves the Bluebirds bottom of the Premier League, with

just two matches remaining. Cricket, and Glamorgan have been in

action against Leicestershire in the County Championship. It's the first

day, and when rain stopped play, Leicestershire were 221-4.
