The chief executive of Pembrokeshire Council steps aside over a row about | :00:09. | :00:21.
full payments. Over the last 18 months, things have been piling up, | :00:22. | :00:25.
where I think the only decision he could've made this morning was for | :00:26. | :00:47.
him stand aside. The nursery at a centre of an outbreak of measles. | :00:48. | :00:51.
Babies are given a jab to contain it. The storms were transported from | :00:52. | :01:01.
a Welsh quarry. Now, the memorial Dragon is here in Flanders, already | :01:02. | :01:09.
for tomorrow's unveiling. The Premier League is back. Swansea get | :01:10. | :01:14.
ready for their fourth season in the world's richest football | :01:15. | :01:22.
competition. Good evening. The Chief Executive of payments Council is to | :01:23. | :01:25.
step aside with immediate effect following a row about full payments | :01:26. | :01:30.
he received. The council has announced that he is taking a period | :01:31. | :01:33.
of absence, but will remain on full pay. Currently under investigation | :01:34. | :01:39.
by police over cash payments he received instead of pension | :01:40. | :01:47.
contributions. Last Friday, these protesters wanted the Chief | :01:48. | :01:49.
Executive of premature counsel to go. Today, he steps aside for a | :01:50. | :01:55.
period of absence after months of pressure. For someone who has become | :01:56. | :02:00.
a highly controversial figure. In January, the Wales audit office | :02:01. | :02:05.
decided that cash payments made to him and another senior official were | :02:06. | :02:10.
unlawful. That led to a police investigation, but no evidence of | :02:11. | :02:15.
any criminal offences was found. In July, the council decided not to | :02:16. | :02:19.
take any further action to reclaim the money worth more than ?45,000. A | :02:20. | :02:26.
week later, a new police investigation was launched, when | :02:27. | :02:30.
fresh information emerged. Now, it is claimed that Mr Paddy Jones spoke | :02:31. | :02:36.
to two members of the council's independent ruling group, asking why | :02:37. | :02:39.
they voted for him to give the money back. One of them says the Chief | :02:40. | :02:42.
Executive has back. One of them says the Chief | :02:43. | :02:45.
He has taken a very honourable position this morning with himself | :02:46. | :02:51.
as the leader. I think it is probably the right decision. The | :02:52. | :02:54.
focus has been on the Chief Executive for the last 18 months. | :02:55. | :03:01.
Some feel Paddy Jones has blurred the lines between politics and the | :03:02. | :03:09.
job of a neutral official. They have put him on gardening leave. Actually | :03:10. | :03:12.
it is quite nice gardening leave. He is on 20 that like ?200,000 per | :03:13. | :03:18.
year. That is not much of a sanction, if you ask me. This former | :03:19. | :03:25.
council Chief Executive, who represents his trade union, says | :03:26. | :03:29.
they do a tough job, managing big budgets and thousands of staff. | :03:30. | :03:35.
Chief executives are unusual, because they along with one or two | :03:36. | :03:40.
other senior officers are subject to statutory protection, so they are | :03:41. | :03:44.
very well protected and the council would have to be very queer of its | :03:45. | :03:47.
grounds if it wanted to take further action. It actually can't do so | :03:48. | :03:53.
without an independent inspection by somebody outside of the council. The | :03:54. | :03:59.
leader of the council says the chief executive's departure is in the best | :04:00. | :04:03.
interests of the authority at this time cup. But his critics are | :04:04. | :04:07.
determined to make sure that his absence from the council's | :04:08. | :04:09.
headquarters becomes a permanent one. Do we know how long his breed | :04:10. | :04:15.
of absence is going to be? No, we don't. The council is not saying | :04:16. | :04:23.
anything further. I do know that he will be on full pay while he he is | :04:24. | :04:27.
away from work, so worth noting that the auditor general knows he is the | :04:28. | :04:34.
highest-paid local authority executive in Wales. As you know, it | :04:35. | :04:40.
is not easy to get rid of the Chief Executive. There is a long process | :04:41. | :04:44.
that has to be gone through. It is important to stress that he has not | :04:45. | :04:47.
been suspended. He has agreed to take time away from work, after | :04:48. | :04:51.
months of pressure. The council has said throughout that it has done a | :04:52. | :04:54.
good job and running services, but there have been damaging stories to | :04:55. | :04:58.
his reputation about the layers in some of those stories, and there is | :04:59. | :05:02.
a feeling that it really stuck can start to address those failings if | :05:03. | :05:08.
the chief executive is attracting so much attention. Thank you, Dan. | :05:09. | :05:14.
Babies were normally too young to be vaccinated against measles have been | :05:15. | :05:20.
given the M M R jab in a bid to contain an outbreak at a nursery. | :05:21. | :05:26.
There have been two confirmed outbreaks and five other children | :05:27. | :05:30.
have been tested for the virus, but Public Health Wales are confident | :05:31. | :05:35.
the situation is under control. This is the nursery at the centre of the | :05:36. | :05:40.
latest measles outbreak in the Swansea Bay area. Two children | :05:41. | :05:45.
attending the aisles of smiles nursery have been confirmed as | :05:46. | :05:48.
having measles. Five others are being tested for the virus. Public | :05:49. | :05:54.
Health Wales said the vaccination was good, but some children were at | :05:55. | :05:59.
risk because of the normal circumstances, they were too young | :06:00. | :06:06.
to receive the vaccine. The first M M R jab is usually given at 12 | :06:07. | :06:11.
months of age, with the second administered when the child is three | :06:12. | :06:16.
years old. Today, there was an opportunity for parents to get their | :06:17. | :06:19.
children vaccinated earlier than usual. We have got a responsibility | :06:20. | :06:24.
to children, to make sure that the outbreak doesn't go any further. We | :06:25. | :06:28.
have had a high-volume of children who have already had the | :06:29. | :06:33.
vaccination. It is a small minority that happened. We have said today | :06:34. | :06:36.
that everybody in the nursery should now be protected. This outbreak | :06:37. | :06:42.
comes a year after the worst ever outbreak in Wales. Over an eight | :06:43. | :06:49.
month period, there were more than 1200 cases, most of them in the | :06:50. | :06:53.
Swansea area. One child died from the Monier after contracting | :06:54. | :06:59.
measles. The father of one was 25. Further cases of measles were later | :07:00. | :07:06.
identified at the school in the Swansea Valley. Health officials are | :07:07. | :07:09.
confident the outbreak at this nursery is now under control, thanks | :07:10. | :07:14.
in part to the prompt action taken by the nursery buzz next. This is | :07:15. | :07:19.
not a case of panicking. This is not an outbreak like we had in 2013. It | :07:20. | :07:25.
is not as wide as that, but ever, as with all vaccinations, it it is the | :07:26. | :07:30.
best thing to do to get your child vaccinated. In the meantime, the | :07:31. | :07:35.
nursery is open as normal and after this morning, more of the children | :07:36. | :07:40.
who come here are protected against measles. The NHS in Wales will be | :07:41. | :07:46.
the first in the UK to fund a cannabis -based medicine for people | :07:47. | :07:51.
with multiple sclerosis. An oral spree has been approved by the | :07:52. | :07:58.
board, and will be available on prescription to treat muscle spasms | :07:59. | :08:01.
for sufferers who have not responded to other treatments. It is the first | :08:02. | :08:04.
of its kind to be licensed within the UK. Hundreds of people have paid | :08:05. | :08:08.
tribute to Arthur Jones, who died after going missing on a walking | :08:09. | :08:13.
holiday in Crete. Motor cyclist rode alongside the procession in Denbigh, | :08:14. | :08:17.
and was a guard of honour for the former soldier. The 70 Three Rd was | :08:18. | :08:21.
described as a popular character in his hometown. He had many friends in | :08:22. | :08:27.
his hometown, and his motorcycle involvement and so on. He used a | :08:28. | :08:31.
marshal the parade for the remembrance service, and he was very | :08:32. | :08:35.
publicly involved. You also do charity work, and was also a very | :08:36. | :08:40.
good laugh, a very good Rock Hunter, a very popular gentleman. The jury | :08:41. | :08:47.
has heard the boss of a race charity claimed for Wales Rugby tickets, cat | :08:48. | :08:52.
litter, and pet food on his expenses full Cepeda knives defrauding more | :08:53. | :08:59.
than ?12,000 from his company. It shut down in 2012 after its funding | :09:00. | :09:04.
was withdrawn. A couple who robbed a woman while she suffered an Apple to | :09:05. | :09:08.
collect and then burgled her home and be jailed for 18 months. They | :09:09. | :09:12.
stole her keys while she lay on the ground outside her home in Morriston | :09:13. | :09:17.
in Swansea. The judge described the couple as despicable. A large fire | :09:18. | :09:24.
has closed one of the main roads through one of our main towns. One | :09:25. | :09:28.
man was rescued from a flat above a charity shop in the town centre. | :09:29. | :09:33.
Fire investigators are still investigating what caused it. | :09:34. | :09:39.
Fighting to save one of the best-known buildings of the town. A | :09:40. | :09:45.
lot of smoke, and then after a while there were flames coming up the | :09:46. | :09:49.
windows, and people being evacuated at that time from the flats. They | :09:50. | :09:56.
were standing on the pavement with blankets around their shoulders. One | :09:57. | :10:00.
man was rescued by firefighters earlier this morning and taken to | :10:01. | :10:04.
hospital, suffering from smoke inhalation. The shop downstairs was | :10:05. | :10:12.
full of furniture. There are lots of rooms, lots of steroids, it was an | :10:13. | :10:25.
unorthodox building -- steer ways. A charity shop for at least 15 years, | :10:26. | :10:31.
got it in just a few hours. Traffic diverted from one of the busiest | :10:32. | :10:36.
streets in town. Deserted bus stands during rush hour. As the | :10:37. | :10:40.
investigation continue into what caused all of this damage, the | :10:41. | :10:44.
charity run this shop say they are absolutely devastated at the events | :10:45. | :10:49.
of today, but there are thoughts are with the man who is in hospital | :10:50. | :10:53.
after being rescued. A destruction and distress for some. This part of | :10:54. | :11:01.
town became eerily quiet. Still to come. From circus act to theatre and | :11:02. | :11:13.
animation, how this year's Green man Festival is not just about the | :11:14. | :11:17.
music. And how one city in Wales has had more than a month of rain in one | :11:18. | :11:22.
fortnight. Find out later in the programme. As events continue to | :11:23. | :11:31.
commemorate this into an array of the start of World War I, in | :11:32. | :11:35.
Flanders they are getting ready to unveil the new memorial to all those | :11:36. | :11:40.
from Wales who took part in the conflict. It is estimated that as | :11:41. | :11:44.
many as 40,000 soldiers and sailors died in the conflict. Welcome to the | :11:45. | :12:00.
memorial. We are about five miles from a historic city. In this | :12:01. | :12:06.
direction, we have another historical town. In 1917, this was | :12:07. | :12:11.
the heart of the battlefield, as the Welsh advanced through here on the | :12:12. | :12:14.
first day of the Battle of Passchendaele. As you can see, the | :12:15. | :12:18.
memorial is covered up at the moment, but tomorrow it will be | :12:19. | :12:23.
draped in the Welsh flag. Already, people are flocking here from all | :12:24. | :12:27.
parts of Wales. They are coming in buses and cars. Some are travelling | :12:28. | :12:31.
by air. The wells are arriving in Flanders. These are among eight 300 | :12:32. | :12:36.
strong party from north-west Wales, taking in a tour today. A Welsh | :12:37. | :12:44.
flavour on the local caravan site, too. Put out hotels and guesthouses, | :12:45. | :12:52.
all here for tomorrow's unveiling. It is important to me because I know | :12:53. | :12:55.
that my grandfather fought here and he also fought in another battle | :12:56. | :13:02.
nearby, and although we came back alive, I want to honour his memory. | :13:03. | :13:08.
There are memorials here for many nations. There is one in France for | :13:09. | :13:13.
the Welsh, but I know that the campaign has been long-running and | :13:14. | :13:18.
the people of Flanders. It was important. At the memorial site | :13:19. | :13:24.
itself, local people at work getting it ready. This project matters every | :13:25. | :13:29.
bit as much here as a dozen Wales. It means a lot to me, because the | :13:30. | :13:35.
Welsh, they liberated us. They fought very heavy. That is why we | :13:36. | :13:43.
want to do this. All around this area, there are minders of the | :13:44. | :13:48.
battles fought here during the First World War. The scale of the | :13:49. | :13:50.
suffering is World War. The scale of the | :13:51. | :13:53.
years, these few square miles claimed around 1 million has of | :13:54. | :14:02.
these. -- casualties. Those from Wales who fought and died have never | :14:03. | :14:07.
been forgotten. Yards from the site of the new memorial, locals gather | :14:08. | :14:11.
each month to remember at the Welsh. It was out of these services that | :14:12. | :14:18.
the idea emerged. It affects you emotionally to see these trenches, | :14:19. | :14:29.
for example, you know, to see how they lived. Peter Jones a retired | :14:30. | :14:38.
police officer, came here 18 months ago. Is a money and you're the right | :14:39. | :14:39.
way to do it? Yes. Because the men who were lost are here. There is no | :14:40. | :14:41.
national monument for Welsh soldiers or for any Welsh person who took | :14:42. | :14:45.
part in the First World War. There is no lasting memorial to them | :14:46. | :14:48.
specifically, and every other nation has one. So that has got to be | :14:49. | :14:53.
rectified. The Welsh public seem to agree. By July last year, enough | :14:54. | :14:59.
money had been raised to ship the storms, which provide the platform | :15:00. | :15:03.
for the memorial, from Wales to Flanders. The government also threw | :15:04. | :15:12.
its weight behind the project. At a foundry in Wales, the bronze was | :15:13. | :15:19.
poured. Slowly, from the castes, the Dragon emerged. | :15:20. | :15:20.
poured. Slowly, from the castes, the they were chipped away at, did they | :15:21. | :15:23.
discover whether they were chipped away at, did they | :15:24. | :15:28.
worked. It is exactly as I had envisaged it. The team have | :15:29. | :15:35.
worked. It is exactly as I had great job of translating my small | :15:36. | :15:37.
sculpture into this large one here. It is better than I imagined. This | :15:38. | :15:44.
hymn sung last night at the It is better than I imagined. This | :15:45. | :15:54.
of the Welsh fought in the great War. | :15:55. | :15:58.
of the Welsh fought in the great not heard this term. | :15:59. | :16:05.
of the Welsh fought in the great Germans heard it too. It was always | :16:06. | :16:08.
sung by the Welsh battalions before they went over the top. It is an | :16:09. | :16:12.
honour for us to be able to sing that hem. It is an honour | :16:13. | :16:17.
honour for us to be able to sing those who took part that the new | :16:18. | :16:20.
memorial will be dedicated. Those lucky enough to get through it, and | :16:21. | :16:23.
of course those who never made it home. With me now is Peter Jones, | :16:24. | :16:30.
coordinator of the memorial campaign committee. Peter, there must have | :16:31. | :16:35.
been times when you campaigned for this that you thought it was never | :16:36. | :16:40.
going to happen. Yes. At the very outset of the campaign, I did become | :16:41. | :16:47.
a little despondent, because I wrote letters and sent information to many | :16:48. | :16:48.
people letters and sent information to many | :16:49. | :16:57.
response. Then as time wore on, I didn't give up, and banks to the | :16:58. | :17:01.
media, mainly, and interviews didn't give up, and banks to the | :17:02. | :17:07.
various people and by the television, I think I was able to | :17:08. | :17:13.
get the message across. The television, I think I was able to | :17:14. | :17:19.
monument out here and a memorial out here except Wales, | :17:20. | :17:23.
monument out here and a memorial out fire inside | :17:24. | :17:26.
monument out here and a memorial out realisation that there | :17:27. | :17:28.
monument out here and a memorial out here for our Welsh lads, apart from | :17:29. | :17:32.
great stones. That message has got across to the people of Wales, and I | :17:33. | :17:37.
feel quite sure that that is the reason that so many people have | :17:38. | :17:41.
donated. People have donated. You have raised ?130,000. You're faddy | :17:42. | :17:47.
promise from the wells committee. Are you going to use that money? We | :17:48. | :17:55.
are going to use most of it, because we had no idea of the cost of | :17:56. | :18:00.
bronze. The Dragon has set us back ?85,000. An additional ?5,000 to | :18:01. | :18:04.
bring it over here or thereabouts, and it has left us with very little | :18:05. | :18:10.
money in the kitty. We need help that we need | :18:11. | :18:14.
money in the kitty. We need help They have done the groundwork year. | :18:15. | :18:14.
They created a PA They have done the groundwork year. | :18:15. | :18:20.
help them. If you have got the money, you should help them, and we | :18:21. | :18:24.
are going to. And 24-hour is to go now until the Dragon is unveiled at | :18:25. | :18:28.
and you can watch it tomorrow evening. It is going to be a very | :18:29. | :18:36.
moving ceremony, I am sure. The Premier League football season | :18:37. | :18:39.
begins tomorrow and Swansea City ticket. -- kick it off. The new | :18:40. | :18:46.
campaign begins with a lunch time kick-off at Old Trafford tomorrow. | :18:47. | :18:50.
The media will be there, not to focus on Swansea, it must be said, | :18:51. | :18:54.
but instead to see how Manchester United get on in their new match | :18:55. | :19:00.
under their new manager. Swansea have a lot to prove. Swansea are | :19:01. | :19:07.
making a habit of being part of Manchester United's managerial | :19:08. | :19:13.
entrances and exits. They did their best to spoil the party when Alex | :19:14. | :19:16.
Ferguson said goodbye to Old Trafford last summer, and now they | :19:17. | :19:19.
will be providing the opposition once again, as the new manager takes | :19:20. | :19:25.
charge at the Theatre of dreams. Every move, gesture and comment from | :19:26. | :19:29.
the man who led the Netherlands to victory in the World Cup will be | :19:30. | :19:33.
scrutinised in minute detail. Swansea will barely get a look | :19:34. | :19:35.
again, unless they can spring a surprise. One of the biggest clubs | :19:36. | :19:40.
in the world with a new manager and all of that, the attention will be | :19:41. | :19:44.
on them. That is great for us. Everything is on them, and they | :19:45. | :19:47.
should be winning trophies, they will be wanting to win the league | :19:48. | :19:50.
this year, and that is pressure for them. Obviously, it is a New Year | :19:51. | :19:55.
for others in terms of our management, and we will go about it | :19:56. | :19:59.
in the way that we can. We will try to put on a performance that we can | :20:00. | :20:05.
be proud of. No surprise that the new manager did not field a single | :20:06. | :20:09.
question about Swansea, but he was keen to play down his own role in | :20:10. | :20:13.
the match. The most important thing is much quarters, really. I don't | :20:14. | :20:20.
play football. Elsewhere, the managerial merry-go-round is already | :20:21. | :20:23.
turning before a ball has been kicked. The manager of Crystal | :20:24. | :20:28.
Palace kicked. The manager of Crystal | :20:29. | :20:32.
settle differences with the German. Palace player Arsenal tomorrow, who | :20:33. | :20:36.
impressed at Wembley on Sunday, as they won the community Shield. Aaron | :20:37. | :20:42.
Ramsey's goal showed why the gunners were so keen to offer him a new | :20:43. | :20:46.
contract. I was always going to sign. I never thought about leaving. | :20:47. | :20:51.
I am still only 23, and I still have many years to go. I was never in | :20:52. | :20:59.
doubt for me to move away. The manager has always been very good | :21:00. | :21:02.
army, always manager has always been very good | :21:03. | :21:05.
oddly I am paying him back. As for Palace, former Cardiff manager is | :21:06. | :21:23.
now taking the job. In the championship, Cardiff City are | :21:24. | :21:27.
hoping that there are two new signings can be registered in time | :21:28. | :21:30.
to play some part against Huddersfield tomorrow in league two | :21:31. | :21:34.
Newport County travel to Markham who beat them home and away last season, | :21:35. | :21:39.
while in the conference, Wrexham Coast Nuneaton. Glamorgan bowler | :21:40. | :21:47.
Essex for a 286 in the first day of their match in St Helens at Swansea. | :21:48. | :21:54.
At the close, the Welsh county were 27 or one. That is your sport. | :21:55. | :22:03.
Thousands of music fans descended on the Esk Valley for the annual Green | :22:04. | :22:08.
man Festival. It is the biggest musical event in Wales, and this | :22:09. | :22:12.
year it is not just about the bands. They're also be circus | :22:13. | :22:16.
performances and animated films from some of our leading artists. | :22:17. | :22:21.
Bursting onto Green man this afternoon, no fit state circus, with | :22:22. | :22:28.
their blend of high energy acrobatics and daredevil displays. | :22:29. | :22:31.
This company has performed all over the world to huge acclaim, but this | :22:32. | :22:35.
is their first year at this festival. Hopefully we will get a | :22:36. | :22:39.
lot more of exposure from different clientele who don't usually come and | :22:40. | :22:41.
see us. We are hoping we will educate a few music fans into the | :22:42. | :22:49.
delights of circus. This year, the festival is the most ambitious yet. | :22:50. | :22:53.
More than 1500 artists will be performing here, but never before | :22:54. | :22:57.
have been been so many different art forms on display. Around the site, | :22:58. | :23:02.
you will come across a quirky lesion of tree houses. Each one has a | :23:03. | :23:07.
different artwork inside. Just read the corner, this sculptor has | :23:08. | :23:15.
created a Dragon made from wood. One of the most eye-catching of | :23:16. | :23:19.
installations lurks inside this silo, an animated film about a herd | :23:20. | :23:23.
of cattle running through time and space. Having made the first couple | :23:24. | :23:28.
of animated films, I got quite bored with the idea of a rectangle on the | :23:29. | :23:32.
wall and started to look for other ways of using the projected images | :23:33. | :23:35.
that would engage with people emotionally. Around 20,000 people | :23:36. | :23:40.
will make their way to the best this year, and although the music acts | :23:41. | :23:44.
will be the biggest draw, there is no shortage of unexpected cultural | :23:45. | :23:49.
delights. It is about creating special moments, that experience, it | :23:50. | :23:53.
is very stability to other art forms that people are not used to hear. | :23:54. | :23:59.
You may not be used to this. National Theatre Wales has created a | :24:00. | :24:02.
new production for the event. The story involves harnessing pagan | :24:03. | :24:08.
energy from festival goers and a grumpy father Christmas, who is | :24:09. | :24:11.
holidaying in the Brecon Beacons along with his elves. You can ask | :24:12. | :24:18.
for some things. But remember, he is on his holidays, so don't bother him | :24:19. | :24:25.
too much. This is the 12th year of the festival, and it is proving to | :24:26. | :24:27.
be one of the most popular. Tickets sold out weeks ago. This year there | :24:28. | :24:32.
is an emphasis on the arts as well as the music. Plenty of festival | :24:33. | :24:37.
goers to enjoy when they come by. Looks like fun. How is the forecast | :24:38. | :24:42.
looking? I have got some good news. It should | :24:43. | :24:52.
be dry over the weekend, although Sunday morning will start off a | :24:53. | :24:58.
little damp. 12 Celsius rising to 18 Celsius in the afternoon. The | :24:59. | :25:01.
weather in August can be a little strange, and that is the case this | :25:02. | :25:05.
year. Five inches of rain has fallen in Cardiff so far. That is more than | :25:06. | :25:10.
one month usually. It looks like we're in for plenty of dry weather | :25:11. | :25:16.
this weekend for a change. Not completely dry, though. Also look | :25:17. | :25:20.
out for a stronger winds on Sunday. This evening, dry for most of us. | :25:21. | :25:24.
Any showers will fade away. Overnight, most places dry except | :25:25. | :25:28.
that the odd light shower in the North. Temperatures in the Brecon | :25:29. | :25:32.
Beacons falling as low as eight Celsius, and nearer 13 Celsius on | :25:33. | :25:37.
the coast. Here is the picture of ATM in the morning. A reasonable | :25:38. | :25:45.
start to the day. -- 8am. A bit more cloud likely in the North West. The | :25:46. | :25:52.
winds light but a bit fresher. The best of the sunshine tomorrow, in | :25:53. | :25:57.
the morning. More cloud in the afternoon. Still a few bright | :25:58. | :26:01.
intervals, but most places dry. The breeze picking up tomorrow, with top | :26:02. | :26:06.
temperatures of between 16 Celsius and 19 Celsius. Tomorrow night, into | :26:07. | :26:10.
Sunday, a cold front will move southwards and that will bring rain | :26:11. | :26:15.
with it. It will also be a windy night. Sunday will start off with | :26:16. | :26:18.
some rain first thing, but this will clear, and it will be dry and | :26:19. | :26:24.
bright. Some sunshine, with a few showers. A breezing and Wendy Day on | :26:25. | :26:27.
Sunday, with gale force winds in the North. -- a windy day. The chart for | :26:28. | :26:35.
Monday shows 80 low pressure over Norway which means North West Labour | :26:36. | :26:41.
winds for the UK. Does winds will bring air from the Arctic Darren to | :26:42. | :26:46.
the UK. It looks like we are in for a taste of autumn for next week. | :26:47. | :26:51.
Some pretty chilly nights. It may feel as if summer is over despite | :26:52. | :26:55.
the sunshine. There is no sign yet of any more hot weather on the way. | :26:56. | :27:00.
There are signs it may warm up a little over the bank holiday | :27:01. | :27:05.
weekend. That is some way off in the meantime plenty of dry weather this | :27:06. | :27:08.
weekend. A little bit of rain, as well. Most of that on Sunday | :27:09. | :27:12.
morning, but it will clear and there will be some sunshine. Watch out for | :27:13. | :27:16.
strong winds on Sunday. Especially in the North. A reminder of our main | :27:17. | :27:25.
story. The Chief Executive of payments Council is to step aside | :27:26. | :27:28.
with immediate effect, following a row over unlawful payments he | :27:29. | :27:32.
received. He is currently under investigation by police over cash | :27:33. | :27:34.
payments he received instead of pension contributions. That is all | :27:35. | :27:42.
for now. Goodbye. | :27:43. | :27:47. |
