Not enough is being done to prevent Muslims from being radicalised here,

Former Foreign Office Minister Kim Howells has told BBC Wales

successive UK governments and the Muslim communities

I don't think any government, whether it was the Labour

governments of Tony Blair or Gordon Brown, or indeed the Coalition, have

really addressed the problem of why it is that so many young people from

Muslim communities in Britain are prepared to go out to Syria and Iraq

Offences comments made by Malky Mackay have been described as

banter. He was letting off steam, that according to the league

managers Association. They have since apologised saying they were

not trying to catalyse the issue. But Cardiff City are not happy and

have asked for the head of that association to stand down. This man

shared a dressing room with Malky Mackay for six years. Firstly, I do

not think there is any place for any form of racism or sexism in society.

I know that the text that has come out over the last few days does not

look good, but I know that Malky Mackay is not a rigid. These texts

came out after Cardiff City looked into suggestions of bad practice by

certain people and pets club. The club says there are many more text

than those that have come out. Another player also accused the

Malky Mackay of being racist. These quotes suggest there is an unsavoury

behaviour in football. It is very poor that senior figures appear to

get away with using banter as an excuse while we try to educate young

players. We do not believe that this is acceptable, a line must be drawn.

One charity said there were 284 incidents of abuse last season. That

is a rise of 296% on the previous season. 66% were for racism, 8% were

homophobic. It is another unwanted story surrounding Cardiff City.

There are also questions about the wider culture in the game and how we

can tackle abuse behind the scenes. Two men have been charged with child

cruelty offences as a part of the investigation

into allegations of historical abuse Keith Evans from Wrexham and Kelvin
