competition from across the UK.

The sports car company TVR is to base its new factory

here creating 150 jobs and the A55 - the main artery into North Wales -

is closed tonight.

Emergency teams try to contain a corrosive chemical spillage

from a tanker.

Good evening.

The luxury sports car company TVR has confirmed it'll start making

new cars next year on Ebbw Vale enterprise zone -

creating 150 jobs - near the site of the planned Circuit

of Wales race track.

The Welsh Government is giving the company its financial backing

but won't be drawn on how much taxpayers money TVR will get

or if they'll have to pay it back.

Our business correspondent, Brian Meechan, reports.

It is a British icon soon to be made in Wales.

While TVR is keeping its new design under wraps, the models of the past

certainly turned heads, even if they were out of the price

range for most of us.

TVR and the First minister signed on the dotted line this morning.

They said the Welsh government

backing was a major reason for deciding on Wales.

We could have chosen many places, but we would

have been in danger of getting drowned out and in competition

for skill sets.

There is an opportunity here, particularly in Ebbw Vale,

for us to carve out the new TVR.

TVR was the rival to Porsche but money problems

brought production to an end almost a decade ago.

The next generation will be made at the Ebbw Vale

enterprise zone.

It's no coincidence there are multi-million plans to turn

this land into a race track, the Circuit of Wales.

TVR received financial support from the

Welsh government though the First Minister was reluctant

to say how much taxpayers' money they were getting.

We tend in the past to publish details further down the line.

The reality is, everybody put money on the table but money isn't

everything.

The deal comes weeks after Aston Martin was given

Welsh government money to move production here.

Again, the amount wasn't made public.

Not all car company investments have gone plan.

The move to make hybrid cars in south Wales came to nothing,

leaving the Welsh government over ?1,000,000

out of pocket.

These cars have inspired a fan base that have

remained loyal, even though they have been out of

production since 2006.

The company plans to be making 2000 of them by 2022.

TVR's attempt at a comeback is being bolstered by

350 advance orders for its new model.

Admirers of the brand have been putting down ?5,000 deposits.

It's brilliant.

It is what TVR enthusiasts have been waiting for.

Living in Wales, the fact it's being produced here is brilliant

as well.

TVR's Ebbw Vale revival will bring well-paid jobs to one of the poorest

parts of Europe and will help build

on Wales's reputation in the car

industry and many hope, attract more companies here.

Part of the A55 near Colwyn Bay remains closed

in both directions tonight.

The trunk road which runs along the North Wales coast -

was closed this morning after 27,000 litres of a chemical liquid spilled

onto the carriageway.

A specialist chemical recovery company is assisting

with the clear up.

Roger Pinney reports.

Chemical suits and breathing apparatus, an indication

of the seriousness of this spill.

The A55 was closed this morning, the lorry

driver noticed he had a leak, he was carrying a highly corrosive

chemical used to edge circuit boards.

The result of the road closure, traffic jams in every

direction.

Here you have a sense of the problems being caused by this

road closure, traffic being siphoned off the A55,

in this direction you can see the slip road onto the A55,

which is closed and these are cars which are following the diversion

along the promenade.

For drivers it all meant long waits in the queues.

We set off at halfpast 1 from Llandudno.

It's now halfpast four.

How long have you been in the traffic?

2 1/2 hours.

Did you have any warning?

No.

Got to go, sorry.

Back at the A55, fire crews worked throughout the day

to decant the remains of the chemicals into another

vehicle, but late this afternoon, there was a fresh concern,

that a small quantity had got into the drains.

It would have to be flushed out before it

could cause serious damage.

There's been another deterioration in the waiting times performance

of Emergency Departments in the Welsh NHS this winter.

In February over 3,500 people spent more than 12 hours in Urgent care

units - over 300 more than in January.

The Welsh Government says A departments have been

busier than ever.

A number of Wales' national museums will be closed or face disruption

over the Easter Bank Holiday, because of industrial

action by staff.

Members of the Public and Commercial Services union have

decided to strike - in a long-running dispute

over weekend pay.

Wales football manager - Chris Coleman - says he has every

confidence security measures will be heightened

at the European Championships in France this summer

following the attacks in Brussels this morning.

Wales are preparing for Euro 2016 - with two friendlies

against Northern Ireland and Ukraine.

Tomos Dafydd reports.

At training this morning, the First Minister.

Carwyn Jones wished coaches and players well ahead of this

summer's great European Championships, but the explosions

in Belgium cast a dark shadow over preparations.

The events in Belgium have been at the forefront

of players minds here.

The attacks in Brussels will deepen concerns over

security at Euro 2016 in France, just 2 months away.

Everybody feels a bit unsafe especially going into a huge

tournament, we're told it will be a target.

We shouldn't give in to these people.

We should never given to them.

Chris Coleman is preparing for the friendlies without forward

Hal Robson-Kanu who has a knee injury.

That could pave the way for

Sam Vokes who could continue his recent club form,

he has scored 10 in his last 14 for Burnley.

The players also enjoying new experiences that only

come with qualification.

Last night they were busy recording their official song

with the help of the Manic Street Preachers.

It was rocking, fair dos to them.

The song will be released in May, and will raise money for 2

charities.

Gareth Bale wasn't available to lend his vocal

talents to the song, he was with his long-term

girlfriend, who gave birth to their secnd daughter.

Come the summer, all wives, girlfriends, family members

will be banned from the team hotel.

Coleman doesn't want any distractions.

The decision went down well with some.

We are still on course for a change in the weather on Thursday,

some rain but in the meantime it is dry and cloudy.

That's the story for tonight, plenty of cloud

perhaps the odd spot of drizzle.

The cloud will keep the frost away tonight.

Temperatures stay above freezing.

More of the same tomorrow morning, plenty of cloud may be a spot

of drizzle but most places dry, glimpses of sun.

Across the rest of the UK, sunny intervals in southern England,

otherwise a lot of cloud.

Maybe the odd light shower.

Mostly dry but rain will spread across Northern Ireland

and into western Scotland in the afternoon.

Temperatures 9C Glasgow, 13 in London.

Maybe the odd isolated shower otherwise most places dry.

Rain in Anglesey, Gwynedd and the West Coast

in the afternoon.

On Thursday, a stronger jet stream will push this frontal system

across the British Isles so Thursday will start dry,

it won't last.

Rain spreads from the West and winds pick up as well.

Good Friday, much better, becoming dry

and bright with sunshine.

Feeling like spring with light winds.

Temperatures are around 10 Celsius or higher but it won't last,

Saturday will be breezy with outbreaks of rain,

heavy rain in the afternoon.

The rest of the weekend, unsettled, changeable,

not a total right off.

At the moment, Good Friday looks the best day of the Easter weekend.
