Welcome to Wales Today live from Lille.

I know it's late but no, you're not dreaming -

Wales are through to the semi finals of the European Championships.

Their first semi final in their history.

Wales found themselves a goal down against the second-best team in the

world but that didn't stop them. A night of high drama.

They'd reached a major tournament for the first time in 58 years but

for this group of friends, that wasn't enough. They had the belief

they could go further than ever before. So did their fans. Before

kick-off, their fans were allowed as ever in Lille, they have carried

their team through to the quarterfinals, a team that have

built a strong defence and they needed it not once or twice but

three times in quick succession early on. Given the chance, Belgian

work on ago, with Wayne Hennessey unable to get enough fingers and

naked limbs shot. At times like this, you need your captain. What a

beautiful time for Ashley Williams to score his first international

goal. On the touchline, scenes of ecstasy. Cue the celebrations back

at home. In Lille city centre, travelling fans got behind the

nation. I was ecstatic. I nearly cried. And he didn't have to wait

long. Aaron Ramsey's cross found how Connie Robson -- Hal Robson-Kanu who

had some magic in his boots, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way. Chris

Coleman's men arguably in control against the second-best team in the

world. They wanted more. Sam Vokes catapulted his team into the

semifinals. What a story which has weaved its

way so wonderfully well towards the semifinal and it's a public -- a

perfect scenario, Gareth Bale and Wales against Cristiano Ronaldo's

Portugal. The fans here are planning a trip to Lyon.

Let's talk now to the former Welsh striker. What a night? It's not

often I'm lost for words but I'm speechless, I really am. Heroic. He

rose, single one of them. A magnificent effort in that second

half. We were under the cosh for quite a long period after we got the

second goal but then the third one went in. They never know when

they're beating. Maybe lesser sides after they'd conceded the first goal

and the way Belgian started would have given in, but not these boys.

They rolled up their sleeves. They have a self belief I've never seen

before in the side. We have all used words like confidence so many times,

but I'm such a proud Welshman tonight. The next challenge,

Portugal. Without too suspended players, how will Wales fair? It is

a big blow for us. Aaron Ramsey and Gareth have been a big part -- they

have both been a big part of the team and it is a shame. Portugal

have not won a game in 90 minutes. I think we're through to the final.

The party has moved from the band so now into the centre but not so long

ago, this was packed. A sea of red. Wales fans were outnumbered by

Belgians but they were not outdone by them tonight. When Al Connie

Robson scored tonight -- Hal Robson-Kanu scored tonight, people

went crazy. It has rained today but beer poured down when he scored.

been held across Wales, to mark 100 years since the Battle
