Good evening. We have seen rather challenging wintry weather

conditions in recent days. We have snow out. There it is an intense

band. We have amber warnings in place for South West England and

for south Wales through this evening and over night. In the last

hour, it is starting to weaken a little. That will be the trend

through the night tonight. We have the potential for snow into

Wiltshire, someer set and Devon and Hereford and for south Wales. We

could see 10cm of snow before the system eases away. It will continue

to do so, weakening substantially through the over night period. How

far north that goes is open to question. It will continue to

weaken and become showery in nature. Elsewhere through the night, it

will be a cold one, an icy one with freezing fog patches around.

Perhaps, not quite as cold as the night past where we had lows of

minus 12 in game bridge. Scotland could have lows of minus nine or

minus ten. The South West will have a cold start, there will be a

covering of snow. It may make for a pretty picture it could be tedious

for your journey to work or school. Isolated snow showers continuing

into east Wales and the West Midlands and freezing fog patches

likely further north. For Northern Ireland, a quieter start, maybe

coastal showers, but isolated. A quieter morning in Scotland

particularly in comparison to this morning. It will be cold and

thereby a lot of snow lying on the ground. So, as the day continues,

we could pick up snow flurries anywhere. Nothing too significant,

it stays grey, it stays cold for many with the best of the

brightness perhaps into north- eastern parts of Northern Ireland.

Temperatures struggling one or two degrees. Milder to the far South

West. That is the trend for the next few days, cold, frost and ice

an issue and also freezing fog patches. There are signs of things

starting to change. Thursday, a reasonable day after a cold start.

Friday, we will see the frontal systems starting to win the battle.
