Good evening. Tomorrow's weather on its own is not exceptional for early

January. What makes it potentially dangerous is it is combines with

some of the highest tides we have seen. Severe flood warnings for some

coastal parts of the UK. We are looking at the Atlantic once again

for the source of the weather. This cloud, a deepening area of low

pressure heading our way. The head of that and acted weather system

producing rain. That will push eastwards overnight. So the amount

of rain in one spot is not that large because it is moving through.

But it could cause limited problems with localised flooding. Tomorrow we

have low-pressure pushing in towards the north-west of the UK. The

strongest winds will be across more western parts. Strong onshore

winds, gale force along the English Channel coast, and up to the western

coasts. Highest tides potentially of 2014 and lots of flood water coming

down the river systems. That is why we have severe flood warnings. Gusts

up to possibly 70 or 80 miles an hour. Inland, there will be some

strong winds, particularly Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern parts

of England and Wales. Heavy and persistent rain, central and

southern Scotland. Cold enough for some snow across the higher parts of

the Scottish mountains. Mild in the south but it won't feel that way

Jews to the strong winds. That store moves out of the way in the early

part of the weekend. But this weather system is problematic. Not

too sure about the detail on how much brain it will give but it could

be a rough day across central and eastern parts of the UK. It could

give some snow across higher ground in the North. But the wind will be

lighter and it will be drier. As we go into Sunday, a storm battering

the east coast of the USA will head into the Atlantic and once again,

spread wet and windy weather across the UK. The next few days brings

more widespread gales, heavy rain and of course the continuing risk of

flooding.
