a time across the Midlands and eastern England. Staying clear

across the north-east of Scotland, barring only patchy mist and fog.

Temperatures could dip away a touch. Generally, it is a mild night, as

the cloud rolls in, accompanied by the outbreaks of rain. A pretty grey

start for most of us to the weekend. A lot of cloud around. Always this

rain around too, particularly across western and northern areas. Some

will be on the heavy side. The further east you are, the better the

chance of managing to just about stay dry and avoid the rain.

Tomorrow afternoon shows a cool breeze on the southern coasts.

Inland, the air is inherently still warm. Across East Anglia for

example, we could still manage to reach 15 or 16, widely up into the

low teens elsewhere across England and Wales. The rain is heavy at

times. North Wales, the Cumbrian fells and the Scottish hills as

well. Not a great start for hill walkers. Still grey down the East

Coast of Scotland. Maybe not as dismal dismal as it has been for the

rest of the week. It's the Grand National of course on Saturday, not

great for race goers but probably not affecting the going that much.

On Sunday, the rain could be heavier, a little more persistent in

places, very few areas managing to escape it. Stronger winds blowing in

too, not helping with the feel of the day. Brighter skies for Northern

Ireland. Even with all that going on, still temperatures are above the

average for early April, up into the low to mid Keynes. Looking further

ahead into the start of next week, we have another low pressure system

moving in. More wind, more rain for Monday. If you are starting your

holidays this weekend, from Tuesday onwards, high pressure will build

back in. Sunshine will rain and a much more settled look to the second

half of the week.
