The outlook as we head into the weekend, you can see what is going | :00:00. | :00:00.
on. Sunday might be brighter. Now over to Louise Lear for the national | :00:00. | :00:07.
weather. Good evening. Today has been a day | :00:08. | :00:11.
of sunny spells and a few scattered showers, but where we see the | :00:12. | :00:14.
sunshine, we have also seen some warmth, with temperatures in the | :00:15. | :00:20.
high teens. A slightly disappointing story across the far north-east of | :00:21. | :00:25.
Scotland. We keep that easterly feed through the night to night, but | :00:26. | :00:30.
looking out into the Atlantic, we also start to pick up the | :00:31. | :00:33.
south-westerly circulate in, and area of low pressure bringing in | :00:34. | :00:36.
some blustery winds for the start of the weekend. Tonight it stays mostly | :00:37. | :00:45.
dry, with some fog around. And we pick up the risk of a few showers in | :00:46. | :00:50.
the far south-east. Clearer skies at the the South West, and cloudy, | :00:51. | :00:56.
murky start our day tomorrow the showers gather in strength and then | :00:57. | :01:01.
start to march north and west. Some of those showers quite heavy and | :01:02. | :01:04.
possibly thundery as well. The further west you go, perhaps away | :01:05. | :01:07.
from that easterly breeze, you will see the best of the brightness | :01:08. | :01:12.
across Northern Ireland, and indecent, again, cloudy and | :01:13. | :01:16.
disappointing. Some of the showers across central England heavy over | :01:17. | :01:20.
higher ground. There is some uncertainty just how far west they | :01:21. | :01:24.
will come, perhaps a cross eastern fringes of Wales. And by the end of | :01:25. | :01:28.
the day, we could pick up some sunshine into the south-east, so | :01:29. | :01:33.
temperatures generally raising. They could reach 19 or 20 we get good | :01:34. | :01:39.
spells of sunshine. That may well then trigger off some heavy and | :01:40. | :01:41.
thundery downpours across the south-east and East Anglia. As for | :01:42. | :01:52.
the weekend , we have already seen that area of low pressure, so some | :01:53. | :01:56.
blustery showers and heavy showers coming through, but some sunny | :01:57. | :02:00.
spells as well. That drives in during Saturday, and we will see a | :02:01. | :02:03.
band of rain for the start of Saturday, but it is not all doom and | :02:04. | :02:08.
gloom. It tracks further north and east, and brings quite a clearance | :02:09. | :02:17.
behind it. Highs likely of around 10-16 Celsius. As we move toward | :02:18. | :02:23.
Sunday, it is a case of sunny spells and scattered showers, but hopefully | :02:24. | :02:29.
not quite as heavy or widespread. So for the final | :02:30. | :02:30. |
