with sunshine by the weekend. If you've been sat at home with

miserable Mayweather today wondering why on earth we didn't go abroad for

half term week, we are just going to add insult to injury because people

have been basking in some sunshine across southern Spain. Fairly

overcast skies in Paris but nevertheless, still 17 degrees.

Across eastern England it was cold, 13 degrees with persistent rain.

Better across the north-west Highlands. The reason for the cloud

and rain was this frontal system, rather breezy as well. The rain

continues through the night, some a bit heavy to the east of the

Pennines. Another miserable day in prospect particularly for eastern

England. Cloudy, grey and breezy. Pretty wet to start the day as

well. Hopefully something a bit more optimistic across Suffolk and down

in across the south of England. Fairly overcast first thing in the

morning, mild at 12 degrees. A bit of brightness into the south-west.

You should probably see some of the best weather for Wednesday

afternoon. Showery rain across North Wales, through the Isle of Man and

overcast skies into Northern Ireland. A different day in prospect

tomorrow. A level of uncertainty just how far north that rain is

going to go, but it may sit across central and southern Scotland and

continue to drift steadily north through the day. So it stays grey

and wet and the cloud and rain and that breeze making it feel

disappointing. But sandwiched to the north and south it's hopefully a bit

drier and certainly brighter in the south-west. This weather front

that's causing such a nuisance, it will continue to drift steadily

south and west during Thursday. Eventually allowing high pressure to

build. We will. To see an improvement on Thursday. If you get

some sunshine, we could see the potential for a few sharp showers to

develop. But with that sunshine, hopefully a bit more in the way of

warmth. Dry through northern England and Scotland with 12 to 15 degrees

here. Towards the end of the week there are subtle changes, a little

drier and hopefully a little warmer. On Saturday in London we

should see temperatures of 21 degrees. Apologies for the
