Homeowners and businesses are clearing up

after torrential rain brought flooding to parts of the East.

In Southend, seafront businesses have bedn ruined

It's the second time in just over a year that it's happened.

At 9pm the heavens opened. The businesses lining side edge seafront

were swamped with a daily use of water. There was nothing anxone

could do. It was amazing how quick it changed. Within five minttes of

it being a normal heavy downpour, it became an absolute torrent. The

trouble is because come up `nd down and it brings a wave, making it
