That is all the sport, back to you. Good evening. An 18`year`old man has

been arrested on suspicion of murder ` after a woman was found dead

inside a house in Middlesbrough. The woman was in her twenties. It's the

second time this year the local neighbourhood has woken to news of a

tragic death. Phil Chapman reports. The woman's body was found in a

house in Parliament Road in Middlesbrough just after 3.30am

yesterday. The postmortem revealed she died from injuries sustained

during an assault. Police confirmed she was a foreign national in her

20s. A neighbour next door but one briefly appeared to tell us the

community is shocked at the latest developments in this town centre

community. It was only in January of this year when a man was charged

with murder after a man in his 20s was found stabbed to death in

another house just a few doors away on neighbouring Carlow Street.

Today, just around the corner, forensic teams have been in and out

of the property here on Parliament Road. The 18`year`old in custody

continues to be questioned over the bank holiday weekend. The police now

want anyone with any information to come forward. Phil Chapman, BBC Look

to a Wembley final. There are one match away from returning to the

football league after 51 years. They defeated Grimsby.

Simon Pride reports. It was a huge Game for Gateshead,

having drawn 1`1 in the first leg of the Conference play`off semifinal.

8000 fans packed the stadium. James Marwood took hopes high as he scored

for Gateshead in the 22nd minute. Scott Neilson was sent off ` and

they battled on with ten players. Grimsby equalised. . But then they

were down to nine as Scott Hatton was sent off and a few minutes

later, Marwood scored his second goal for Gateshead. Then they scored

a third goal. Cambridge United awake in the final on the 18th of May.

In basketball, the Newcastle Eagles are through to the BBL Championship

play`off final. In a nail`biting match this afternoon, they beat

Leicester Riders 83`71 to win 162`161 on aggregate.

More than 2,500 people ran through Sunderland today as part of the

city's 10k race and half`marathon. Development works meant the

full`marathon couldn't be held ` but will be next year. Today, around

1,000 came for the half marathon ` won by Yared Hagos from Wallsend

Harries ` and 1500 turned up for the 10km, won by Ian Hudspith of Morpeth

Harriers. You meet a really good bunch of people. You meet people on

the runs as well. You sort of make friends as you are running and you

support each other along the way. It is a really good community. The

North East is a tremendous place to run. We have been down to London,

that is great, but you can't beat the North East crowds. Wallsend.

Cricket now, and today saw the start of the first big derby match of the

county cricket season, with the champions, Durham, starting a

four`day match with last year's runners`up, Yorkshire, at the

Emirates Ground in Chester`le`Street. Yorkshire won the

toss and decided to bat and they made 299 for three.

It first opened its doors in Victorian times and this weekend

staff at John Lewis are marking 150 years of their store. Hannah Bayman

reports. A century and a half on the High

Street ` John Lewis is turning 150. But here in Newcastle, the shop

which many of us still know as Bainbridges, has an even longer

history. It's widely credited as the earliest department store in the

world. EM Bainbridge and WA Dunn founded their drapers shop in Market

Street in 1838, 26 years earlier than John Lewis, which took over in

1953. One of the longest serving staff, Lesley Slavin, started when

she was just 15. I have been in John Lewis 43 years and it has changed

vastly over the years I have been here. Five`day trading to seven`day

trading with extended hours and online shopping. The 150 year

anniversary is big for John Lewis Newcastle. We have got a host of

activities going on over the weekend, live music in the store,

lots of competitions for children, magic shows, storytelling. As well

as an annual profit share, after 25 years' service, staff get six

months' paid leave. I think what makes us stand out is the fact that

we are all owners in the business. Every time you talk to a partner,

you really feel that sense of ownership and that is what makes us

unique and probably why we have been around as long as we have. Hannah

Hello there. Good evening. Eastern areas enjoying the best of the

weather the longest tomorrow, so a dry morning for everyone, but cloud

is going to increase from the West and rain will spread eastwards for

western parts during in the afternoon. Cumbria getting some rain

tomorrow afternoon. At the moment it is is largely dry, a little drizzle

perhaps for the Pennines through this evening but generally a dry

night with clear spells tending to spread from the South, particularly

across parts of North Yorkshire. Temperatures overnight will be eight

or nine degrees. The best of the weather tomorrow morning, dry and

bright conditions, hazy sunshine. The cloud will increase from the

West through the afternoon with outbreaks of rain arriving to

western parts during in the afternoon, temperatures lifting to

around 17 degrees. That's it from us. We are back

many will be a dry night. For many across the south it will be cold.

Maybe not quite as cold as last night. We should start with quite a

bit of sunshine across central and eastern areas. The sunshine will

turn quite hazy of the cloud spills in from the west. The wind is also

starting to pick up and we will see rain. For Northern Ireland, the rain
