Good evening. The family of Ben Clarkson, from

Leeds, are waiting for news on the formal identification of a body

discovered in the River Foss in York. 22`year`old Ben disappeared

after leaving a nightclub in the city three weeks ago. Last night, a

body was found around tea`time in the river. Cathy Booth has the

details. The body was discovered by police at

5pm yesterday. 22`year`old Ben Clarkson went missing on the 2nd of

March following a night out. North Yorkshire police said they would

formally identified the body until tomorrow or Monday. Last night, then

does my girlfriend issued a statement where she paid tribute to

him. She said, I am truly heartbroken to have lost the love of

my life and I will treasure fond memories dearly. Ben was an amazing

partner, son, grandson, brother and uncle. No one will ever replace him.

His death comes days after the body of Megan Roberts was pulled from a

river. She disappeared after a night drinking in York. It has led to

calls for increased safety measures to be put in place along the rivers

in the city. The Police Commissioner has set up a meeting on Tuesday to

discuss the problem. Representatives from the universities, student

unions and the police will all be in attendance. Meanwhile, York City

Council has commissioned a protection for the Royal Society for

the prevention of accidents. For the family of Ben Clarkson, who must I

carry on their lives about him, any changes are too late.

More places in Yorkshire could be getting direct trains to London. The

Department for Transport says it is asking companies bidding to operate

the East Coast line to consider running regular services to

Huddersfield, Harrogate and Scarborough. The route is currently

run by Government`owned company East Coast Trains, but it will be

returned to the private sector next year.

Six Yorkshire soldiers have been identified 100 years after they were

killed in France during World War One. The families of the men are now

planning to travel across the Channel later this year to see their

relatives laid to rest. The remains were discovered during building work

in a French village in 2009. All the men were serving with the second

Battalion the York and Lancaster Regiment when they were killed by

German gunfire in October 1914. I think about all the time. Neither

we know him, sort of thing, it feels strange that we feel we know him

more than we did before. It was just a name and a soldier that died. Now,

he is grandad. Football, and in The Championship,

Barnsley lost at home to Bournemouth 1`0. Huddersfield travelled to

Blackpool, losing 1`0 there. Success at The Keepmoat for Doncaster Rovers

` they beat Sheffield Wednesday 1`0. Leeds gained a much`needed win

against Millwall, the result 2`1 there.

In League One, a home defeat for Sheffield United, who lost 2`0 to

Wolves. A penalty by Kieran Agard gave Rotherham a 1`0 win away at

Peterborough. Bradford lost two ` one away at Shrewsbury.

In League Two, there was a goalless draw between Mansfield and

Chesterfield, but York beat Portsmouth away 1`0.

Sheffield United might have lost their match to Wolverhampton

Wanderers, but they did have something to celebrate today ` their

125th birthday. The Dinnington Colliery Brass Band turned up to

entertain supporters ahead of this afternoon's match. Kick`off was

moved to 1.25pm to mark the anniversary.

Good evening. The showers we have seen today will continue through the

night. They will still be fairly wintry, especially on the tops of

the Pennines. Watch out for ice tomorrow morning. It will be a cold

night with temperatures dropping back to two or three degrees, less
