Family, friends and colleagues all gathered

for a short, simple service where they prayed for the 25`year`old who

Anowar Tagabo had been attending a family wedding in Sheffield

Afterwards, he encountered a large crowd outside

He was allegedly attacked, fell and died nine days later

Hundreds of mourners from Yorkshire's Sudanese community

packed into this small mosque in Leeds.

More than two months on from Anowar Tagabo's death they are still

struggling to come to terms with the fact that a man who was trying to

Before coming to Britain, Anowar had witnessed shocking

bloodshed and cruelty during the civil war in Sudan.

He had fled the violence there to complete a degree in Peace Studies

It is very sad, because we are originally from Sudan and the Dafur

region where there has been a war going on for almost 11 years now.

Sadly, he died in a Sheffield street where he thought he was safe.

He was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

After the funeral Anowar Tagabo was buried in a Leeds cemetery.

23`year`old Nathan Lloyd Tomlinson of Haslam Crescent in Low Edges will

go before Sheffield Crown Court in September charged with manslaughter.

Doncaster airport has re`opened its runway

after a light aircraft crash`landed there yesterday evening.
