Good evening. Plans by Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service to share

control room facilities havd been criticised by politicians.

The Chief Fire Officer told the Sunday Politics in the Midl`nds

that he needs to save money. But MPs have questioned why the brigade is

holding almost ?9 million in its reserves. BBC Radio Shropshhre's

Shropshire's fire chief clahms he could save money every year if they

over the course of this process to find out what they intend to do with

that money, because they ard considerable reserves. The Chief

Fire Officer says the money may be needed to meet future budget

challenges. The reserves will be spent over the next five, shx years.

The other thing is that the reserves give the CFA and the Fire Atthority

options about changes they can make in future proposals we put for to

them. The public consultation is due to end in September.

A woman has died after the car she was driving, crashed ne`r the

Ettington Park Hotel in Str`tford upon Avon. Two cars were involved in

the accident on the A3400 at around 8.40pm last night.

A woman driving the second car was trapped for more than an hour,

and is now in a stable condition in hospital.

The Education Secretary will announce the fate of 21 schools in

Birmingham tomorrow caught tp in the Trojan Horse plot. It allegds that

there's a plan by hard line Muslims to take over the running of

an academy system have fuelled concerns.

These are schools which havd been prompted to be autonomous, to go

their own way. If in so doing they become more fragmented and serve a

small population over and against the interest of the broader

community, that creates a problem for the academy schools project as a

Education Secretary will announce the results of investigations
