A vigil has been held in Reading to show solidarity

with the thousands of people trapped in the besieged city

It comes as Evacuations resume from the rebel-held area

Now we see the biggest human rights crisis possibly

Standing together, people from across Britain share

Today's vigil was organised by a Reading mother of six who has

It is so important for us to show them that we do care

and we haven't forgotten them because if I was in that

situation I would not want the world to forget me.

Not everyone out Christmas shopping stopped to listen, but many did

There'll be more disruption on Southern Rail services tomorrow

as train conductors begin a 48 hour walkout.

The RMT union is in dispute with the rail operator over

plans to make drivers, rather than guards, operate

Last week there were no Southern services at all for three days,

when the drivers' union ASLEF also went on strike.

The mother of a teenager whose body was recovered from the sea off

Dorset earlier this year is now working with other young

people to encourage them to stay safe on nights out.

We need to be realistic and practical, and not tell people,

you know, not to drink, and accept that they will do,

You know, so that they can make choices and understand

Most drink things for teenagers, it seems quite patronising.

It's like, "Don't drink, you're not old enough."

Whereas this one treats you like you're an adult, which I liked.

It makes you realise that it's important to know what your friends

are doing and whether they can get home OK.

This could have been the most important lesson

A swimming pool in Berkshire, which has been in use

for more than a century, has closed its doors today.

Reading Borough Council says it can't afford to keep

the Arthur Hill Memorial Baths open, but hopes the pool will be

replaced by a new facility in three or four years time.

But it means the Reading Dolphin swimming club will now be wound up

after holding its last session at the pool today.

All its members have a disability or visual impairment.

On to football and it was Southampton who came out on top

in the south coast derby at Bournemouth this afternoon.

Nathan Ake's header put the Cherries in front after six minutes,

before Ryan Bertrand levelled with a solo effort.

After the break, a tap-in from Jay Rodriguez gave Saints the lead.

And a superb 20-yard finish from Rodriguez secured the win.
