Hello. This is the time of day when

0:00:030:00:05

we look at the weather trend further ahead, out to about 10 days or so.

0:00:050:00:09

There's no doubt that the weather is set to change,

0:00:090:00:12

moving into a rather different type of summer mode,

0:00:120:00:14

with low pressure always close by,

0:00:140:00:17

which means it'll be more unsettled.

0:00:170:00:19

Fairly weak weather fronts

0:00:190:00:20

moving Southwards across the UK for Thursday.

0:00:200:00:23

But they'll tend to be the focus

0:00:230:00:25

for heavy showers to break out during the day.

0:00:250:00:28

Not that many places missing them altogether.

0:00:280:00:31

Maybe the far South-East of England staying dry.

0:00:310:00:33

Otherwise, it's a matter

0:00:330:00:34

of dodging showers and sunshine in-between.

0:00:340:00:36

You'll notice through the afternoon,

0:00:360:00:38

from the bright colours,

0:00:380:00:40

that some of those showers will be heavy.

0:00:400:00:42

Could be some thunder in the mix as well,

0:00:420:00:44

some heavy downpours around.

0:00:440:00:46

But the showers lining up,

0:00:460:00:48

so either side of those lines

0:00:480:00:49

you could get lengthy dry spells.

0:00:490:00:51

You can see some sunshine among the showers.

0:00:510:00:54

You'll also notice temperatures

0:00:540:00:55

similar to recent days.

0:00:550:00:57

Also the wind a bit lighter across Scotland,

0:00:570:00:59

so that will help with the feel of things,

0:00:590:01:01

even with those big showers rattling around.

0:01:010:01:04

The showers continue into the evening,

0:01:040:01:06

but becoming fewer and further between

0:01:060:01:08

as tends to happen -

0:01:080:01:10

the heat of the day ebbs away

0:01:100:01:11

and so the showers tend to subside.

0:01:110:01:14

So, many places ending up dry.

0:01:140:01:16

It looks a bit different

0:01:160:01:17

heading into Friday

0:01:170:01:19

and the start of the weekend.

0:01:190:01:20

A developing area of low pressure

0:01:200:01:22

to the South is one we'll have to watch.

0:01:220:01:25

Ahead of that on Friday,

0:01:250:01:27

quite a bit of dry weather around,

0:01:270:01:28

certainly across central

0:01:280:01:30

and Eastern parts of England.

0:01:300:01:31

Scattered showers across

0:01:310:01:33

Scotland and Northern Ireland

0:01:330:01:34

but it's a more organised area

0:01:340:01:36

of showers merging together

0:01:360:01:37

coming up across South-Western areas

0:01:370:01:39

through the course of the day.

0:01:390:01:41

And that's what we'll have to watch

0:01:410:01:43

over the weekend.

0:01:430:01:45

Still some uncertainty

0:01:450:01:46

about the details of this low,

0:01:460:01:48

but we're firming up on the idea

0:01:480:01:50

that we'll get an area of low pressure

0:01:500:01:52

running Northwards across most areas

0:01:520:01:54

through the course of the weekend.

0:01:540:01:56

That means we will see outbreaks of rain.

0:01:560:01:58

Some of it could be heavy and persistent,

0:01:580:02:01

but breaking up into showers.

0:02:010:02:02

Gradually, as the weekend goes on,

0:02:020:02:04

that more persistent rain moving Northwards,

0:02:040:02:07

allowing something drier and brighter

0:02:070:02:08

to push in from the South.

0:02:080:02:10

The big uncertainty at the moment is

0:02:100:02:12

how quickly that process will happen.

0:02:120:02:14

Potential for brisk winds

0:02:140:02:16

around that area of low pressure,

0:02:160:02:18

could be gales in some exposed areas.

0:02:180:02:20

Temperatures struggling where we've got the rain,

0:02:200:02:23

but once the sun breaks out,

0:02:230:02:25

it won't feel too bad,

0:02:250:02:26

getting up close to the seasonal average.

0:02:260:02:29

Then, as we go through into Monday,

0:02:290:02:31

the remnants of that low pressure system

0:02:310:02:33

gradually pull away.

0:02:330:02:35

A little bump of high pressure coming in,

0:02:350:02:37

so that promises something

0:02:370:02:38

a bit more settled for Monday.

0:02:380:02:40

But more low pressure

0:02:400:02:41

waiting out in the Western Atlantic.

0:02:410:02:43

So best estimate at the moment

0:02:430:02:45

is that Monday could be a fine day for most,

0:02:450:02:47

maybe one or two showers

0:02:470:02:48

lingering on across Northern areas.

0:02:480:02:50

Again, those temperatures

0:02:500:02:51

close to seasonal expectations.

0:02:510:02:53

Pleasantly warm when the sun breaks out.

0:02:530:02:56

Looking further ahead to the 8th of August,

0:02:560:02:58

the signs are it will stay unsettled,

0:02:580:03:01

quite windy at times with low pressure nearby.

0:03:010:03:03

Highest temperatures are likely to be

0:03:030:03:06

across more South-Eastern parts of the UK,

0:03:060:03:08

the more wet weather

0:03:080:03:09

across the North-West overall.

0:03:090:03:11

But that's just an average.

0:03:110:03:13

That's because low pressure is to the North or North-West,

0:03:130:03:16

high pressure to the South.

0:03:160:03:17

Any time the high edges North,

0:03:170:03:18

it will allow that warmer air

0:03:180:03:20

to push in across South-Eastern parts,

0:03:200:03:22

whereas closer to the low,

0:03:220:03:24

there's more chance of catching

0:03:240:03:25

some outbreaks of rain.

0:03:250:03:27

But certainly some fine weather to be found,

0:03:270:03:29

despite the unsettled theme.

0:03:290:03:31

This is the real deal.

0:03:340:03:36

The next six months...

0:03:370:03:39

..will define the rest of our lives.

0:03:400:03:43

It's about this moment.

0:03:450:03:47

ENGINE ROARS

0:03:480:03:49

She will pay for their sins.

0:03:510:03:54

She's safe.

0:03:540:03:55

Not any more.
