Hello. Time to check on the weather for the next few days.

It's looking a little unsettled.

Monday wasn't bad at all.

Scenes like this

across the UK.

Some lovely sunshine,

clear skies.

But, from Tuesday, a bit more cloud.

Weather fronts are lining up there in the Atlantic,

heading our way.

This is basically

the weather for the week ahead.

Weather fronts across North America

ready to swing our way

and bring some rain,

which is good for the gardens,

but not everyone will be happy.

The first weather fronts arrive

first thing on Tuesday morning.

The night actually would have been clear

across the UK...

Not too cold either.

10 degrees in London,

7 or 8 in the north.

A bit colder in the countryside.

But the rain reaches Northern Ireland

early in the morning.

Belfast getting rainfall by mid-morning.

By lunch, that rain should reach

the Western Isles of Scotland,

the western fringes of Wales

and down to the south-west.

Let's start with Scotland.

This is four o'clock in the afternoon.

Looking wet in Glasgow.

Belfast will have seen rain by this stage.

But look at that.

Most of northern England,

the midlands, East Anglia,

the south-east all fine.

In the clear. Some sunshine.

Quite warm.

Just about 19 or 20 in London.

But cloudy with some rain

for western and south-western Wales

and Cornwall and Devon.

The forecast for the middle

of the week.

Low pressure parks itself across the UK,

so we get that sense

that these lows are sliding in

off the Atlantic,

bringing a bit of a breeze.

On Wednesday,

these outbreaks of rain

could turn out to be quite heavy.

They'll come in the form of showers.

Heavy downpour, some sun,

possibly heavy downpour too.

Maybe thunder and lightning.

But notice that the weather improves

later on Wednesday

across many western areas.

Some sunshine for Plymouth,

Belfast and Glasgow.

That's Wednesday.

Thursday, yet another area

of low pressure swings in off the Atlantic.

Quite a few out there.

Lots of isobars here so it'll be breezy.

It won't be raining all the time,

but rain is likely

almost anywhere across the UK.

With a bit of sunshine.

Temperatures reaching 18 in London.

Bit cooler there in Scotland.

We're in-between weather systems

on Friday.

One here for the weekend.

This one's out of the way.

This is called a little ridge

of high pressure.

That means that the weather's a bit settled

but not totally.

We're still expecting clouds

to develop during the day

and produce some rain.

But this is what's heading our way

for Saturday.

There's a bit of uncertainty

exactly how big

this low pressure's going to be,

how much wind it'll bring,

how much cloud and rain,

but I think, at this stage,

the basic message is that

it'll be an unsettled weekend.

We have to be prepared for some rain.

There'll be some breaks in the cloud

with sunshine,

so it won't be raining from start to finish.

But it will be unsettled.

Next week,

this is what the jet stream's

probably going to do.

Digs down across the Atlantic here

and then upwards across the UK.

That's a ridge.

High pressure will probably

build to the south or south-east,

bringing settled dry weather,

whereas these lows

carried by the jet stream

will nibble on north-western Britain

bringing cloud.

That's the likeliest scenario.

It's possible that that jet stream

will be a little bit further north,

therefore it'll take its high pressure

a little further north.

The high pressure that forms to the south of the jet stream.

So I think the weather should be dry.

One of these two scenarios.

The first one probably more likely.

There's uncertainty for next week.

Probably dry in the south-east.

It should be fairly warm.

At least it's not cold.
