Over the past week, we've had changeable weather.

0:00:020:00:04

Sunny spells at times

0:00:040:00:06

but also plenty of wet weather around, too.

0:00:060:00:08

And that story stays with us through the weekend.

0:00:080:00:10

Things are still looking unsettled.

0:00:100:00:11

A series of weather fronts here in the Atlantic

0:00:110:00:15

pushing into western areas initially.

0:00:150:00:17

That means we'll see spells of rain on Saturday

0:00:170:00:19

working north-eastwards, gradually, across much of the country.

0:00:190:00:22

The heaviest of the rain likely to be in the west -

0:00:220:00:24

over the hills of the south west of England, Wales,

0:00:240:00:27

northern England and Scotland, too,

0:00:270:00:29

with many strong winds in this zone.

0:00:290:00:31

The south-east of England, and East Anglia,

0:00:310:00:32

should stay largely dry and fine for a good part of the day.

0:00:320:00:35

Relatively humid - 18 or 19 degrees.

0:00:350:00:38

A return to sunshine and showers from the north west later on.

0:00:380:00:41

For the FA Cup final, later on Saturday,

0:00:410:00:43

there is a chance we could catch some showery rain at Wembley.

0:00:430:00:47

But a bit of uncertainty

0:00:470:00:48

about the detail of the weekend's rain.

0:00:480:00:51

There is a chance that some showers in the south east

0:00:510:00:53

could be heavy and thundery through Saturday evening.

0:00:530:00:55

Gradually easing their way off towards the east

0:00:550:00:58

as we head through the early hours of Sunday.

0:00:580:01:00

To start off Sunday morning, a fresher feel to the weather.

0:01:000:01:03

Clearer skies and more in the way of sunshine,

0:01:030:01:05

certainly compared to Saturday.

0:01:050:01:07

So, on reflection,

0:01:070:01:09

looking like an improved sort of day for most places.

0:01:090:01:11

There will still be some heavy showers around,

0:01:110:01:13

particularly for parts of southern and south-west England.

0:01:130:01:16

Also, further north,

0:01:160:01:17

Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland could catch some showers.

0:01:170:01:20

Nowhere immune to a shower

0:01:200:01:21

but there will be plenty of dry weather in between those showers

0:01:210:01:25

and temperatures between around about 13 to 18 Celsius.

0:01:250:01:28

A touch lower than they have been over the past couple of days.

0:01:280:01:31

Then, as we look towards the new working week -

0:01:310:01:33

Sunday night into Monday - what we are going to see

0:01:330:01:35

is weather fronts moving away towards the east.

0:01:350:01:40

to the north and west of the UK.

0:01:400:01:42

And that's going to be really driving our weather

0:01:420:01:44

through the first part of the new week.

0:01:440:01:46

For Monday, still a chance of some showers

0:01:460:01:48

around the south east of England.

0:01:480:01:50

And then a lot of dry weather on the cards.

0:01:500:01:51

A bit of a northerly airflow developing,

0:01:510:01:53

so that'll make it feel quite chilly

0:01:530:01:55

around these eastern coasts exposed to that northerly breeze.

0:01:550:01:58

Still a chance of a few showers. Lots of dry weather

0:01:580:02:01

with the best of the sunshine, probably,

0:02:010:02:02

for western Scotland down towards Wales,

0:02:020:02:05

the South West of England, too.

0:02:050:02:06

Temperatures around 17 degrees

0:02:060:02:08

but feeling that bit cooler around eastern coasts.

0:02:080:02:10

A similar story for Tuesday -

0:02:100:02:12

high pressure generally in charge.

0:02:120:02:14

Largely dry, still a chance of catching a shower

0:02:140:02:16

and that cool, northerly breeze bringing temperatures down

0:02:160:02:19

around Easter parts of England and Scotland, too.

0:02:190:02:22

So high pressure stays with us as we head into Wednesday.

0:02:220:02:25

But we're going to see a bit of a change in wind direction.

0:02:250:02:27

More of a north-easterly wind

0:02:270:02:29

and that could well bring a spell of rain

0:02:290:02:31

for some central and northern parts of the country, potentially,

0:02:310:02:34

during the course of Wednesday.

0:02:340:02:35

Either side of that, we should keep some drier and brighter weather.

0:02:350:02:39

But late next week,

0:02:390:02:40

our weather is going to be driven by the fact

0:02:400:02:42

that we'll have low pressure out to the south west of the UK,

0:02:420:02:45

drawing in a south-easterly airflow.

0:02:450:02:47

That'll affect the southern half of the country.

0:02:470:02:49

So relatively mild, if not warm, here.

0:02:490:02:51

Further north, the winds coming from more of an easterly direction,

0:02:510:02:54

bringing a slightly cooler airflow and the chance of rain at times.

0:02:540:02:58

But, by the end of next week,

0:02:580:03:00

that warmth will be pushing in towards the south east

0:03:000:03:02

but equally not dry all the time.

0:03:020:03:04

There'll be some thunderstorms likely,

0:03:040:03:06

pushing in from a southerly direction.

0:03:060:03:08

Further north, it'll be that little bit cooler and fresher

0:03:080:03:10

but it's here that we'll see that little bit more

0:03:100:03:13

in the way of sunshine on offer.

0:03:130:03:15

So, as we look towards the end of next week, next weekend too,

0:03:150:03:18

temperatures at last will start to warm up.

0:03:180:03:20

There'll be some sunshine but equally some heavy rain,

0:03:200:03:22

possibly some thunderstorms.

0:03:220:03:24

That'll be most likely for some southern and south eastern parts.

0:03:240:03:27

Bye-bye.

I hate what I see in that mirror.

0:03:360:03:38

It's make or break.

But can this experiment transform their unhealthy lifestyles?
