Hello. We've had some pretty lively whether over the past few days.

0:00:030:00:06

On Tuesday, heavy thunderstorms brought scenes

0:00:060:00:09

a bit like the one behind me taken in Birmingham.

0:00:090:00:11

So flash flooding was reported.

0:00:110:00:13

We could see similar scenes over the next couple of days,

0:00:130:00:15

with more of those torrential showers in the forecast.

0:00:150:00:18

Now, this is how Wednesday is shaping up.

0:00:180:00:20

We start the day already with quite a few showers.

0:00:200:00:22

Heavy and thundery ones developing

0:00:220:00:24

across central and southern parts of the England and Wales, too.

0:00:240:00:27

Some areas staying dry.

0:00:270:00:28

For instance, towards the far south-east.

0:00:280:00:30

Quite a bit of brightness around.

0:00:300:00:32

And also for parts of North Wales, perhaps towards Northern Ireland.

0:00:320:00:35

Some sunshine, too.

0:00:350:00:36

Northern and eastern Scotland will see quite a lot of cloud

0:00:360:00:39

and outbreaks of rain lasting really

0:00:390:00:41

through much of the day on Wednesday.

0:00:410:00:43

Then moving through Wednesday night and on into Thursday,

0:00:430:00:45

well, the heavy showers tend to ease for a time,

0:00:450:00:48

but we will stick with the showery theme.

0:00:480:00:50

And that rain across Scotland edges further south

0:00:500:00:52

into parts of northern England.

0:00:520:00:54

Quite cloudy and drizzly along the eastern coast of England for a time,

0:00:540:00:58

as we move through into Thursday.

0:00:580:01:00

Now, Thursday, again, a day of sunshine and showers.

0:01:000:01:02

Down to the fact that we've got this slow-moving area of low pressure,

0:01:020:01:06

which is just churning away

0:01:060:01:07

across central and southern parts of the country

0:01:070:01:10

through much of this week.

0:01:100:01:11

So for Thursday, spot the difference.

0:01:110:01:13

Sunshine and showers across England and Wales.

0:01:130:01:15

Some of these showers, once again, heavy and thundery.

0:01:150:01:18

There could well be lying surface water,

0:01:180:01:20

perhaps even a chance of further flash flooding.

0:01:200:01:23

Now, the north and Northern Ireland

0:01:230:01:24

seeing some dry and some bright weather,

0:01:240:01:26

although Scotland will stay cloudy with outbreaks of rain,

0:01:260:01:28

particularly in the north and east, where it will feel quite chilly.

0:01:280:01:31

But further south, 21 Celsius between those showers.

0:01:310:01:34

So it certainly won't be raining all the time.

0:01:340:01:37

It's a mix of sunshine and showers.

0:01:370:01:39

As we move through the latter part of Thursday and on into Friday now,

0:01:390:01:42

that low pressure is starting to ease away towards the south,

0:01:420:01:45

starting to fill a bit.

0:01:450:01:46

So a subtle change, I think, for the day on Friday.

0:01:460:01:49

We draw in a bit more of a northerly breeze.

0:01:490:01:51

Still some showers around for the southern half of England

0:01:510:01:53

and south Wales, too.

0:01:530:01:54

And we've still got further rain

0:01:540:01:56

across northern and eastern Scotland.

0:01:560:01:58

But elsewhere, some drier and some brighter weather

0:01:580:02:00

in between any of those showers.

0:02:000:02:02

By the time we get to Saturday, most of the showers will be situated

0:02:020:02:05

across eastern and south-eastern parts of the country.

0:02:050:02:08

They'll be fairly hit and miss, it looks like,

0:02:080:02:10

by the time we get to Saturday.

0:02:100:02:11

Some uncertainty on the detail here.

0:02:110:02:13

But it looks like higher pressure does build in,

0:02:130:02:15

leaving some drier and some brighter weather for many of us.

0:02:150:02:18

Lighter winds, too, by the time we get to Saturday.

0:02:180:02:20

So I think we lose the intensity to those storms on into the weekend.

0:02:200:02:23

And then through Saturday night and into Sunday,

0:02:230:02:26

an area of high pressure across much of the country,

0:02:260:02:28

bringing a fairly quiet spell of weather.

0:02:280:02:30

We've got this front moving in from the north-west

0:02:300:02:32

as we head through the day on Sunday.

0:02:320:02:34

So much of the country, again, having not a bad day.

0:02:340:02:37

Some sunny, some dry weather on Sunday.

0:02:370:02:39

Some rain, though, likely to affect parts of Northern Ireland

0:02:390:02:42

and particularly the western half of Scotland later in the day.

0:02:420:02:45

Ahead of that, in the sunshine, 20 degrees will feel fairly pleasant.

0:02:450:02:48

Then looking at the early part of next week,

0:02:480:02:51

high pressure likely to sit out somewhere towards the south-west.

0:02:510:02:53

We will see areas of low pressure moving in from the Atlantic,

0:02:530:02:56

mainly affecting parts of Northern Ireland and perhaps Scotland, too.

0:02:560:03:00

Some uncertainty on the detail of where any low pressure will move.

0:03:000:03:03

But it looks like through the middle part of next week what we'll see

0:03:030:03:06

is the wetter and the windier conditions generally confined

0:03:060:03:09

to the north-western half of the country,

0:03:090:03:11

whereas towards the south and the east

0:03:110:03:12

we're more likely to see some spells of drier and brighter weather.

0:03:120:03:16

So to summarise next week for you,

0:03:160:03:18

things will remain generally unsettled.

0:03:180:03:19

Some brighter, some drier weather,

0:03:190:03:21

particularly towards the south and the east,

0:03:210:03:23

but still a risk of some heavy and some thundery showers around.

0:03:230:03:26

That's how it's looking. We'll keep you up to date right here.
