They are seeing a shift in weather patterns across the country at the

moment. -- we are seeing. That is changing the dissolution of wet and

dry. In recent days warm air has been pumping up from the south,

bringing torrential downpours across south-eastern parts of the UK in

particular. During Friday we saw most of the cloud across more

northern and western areas and here we saw the heaviest downpours,

especially across parts of Scotland. We start Saturday with showers, also

showers in western areas tended to drift eastwards as we go through the

day. Some lively downpours developing. At the same time out

West thing start drying up. Wales, western England, some sunshine.

Glastonbury touch and go. The heaviest downpours will be further

east. Slow-moving, some local parental downpours, but some places

avoiding the showers. -- torrential downpours. The heart of Scotland, a

spring clean of heavy showers. Cool and grey in the far north-east. Into

Sunday we have another weather system coming in across the

Atlantic. That will spread in rain across Northern Ireland initially

and then into more western parts of Britain. The dry weather will hold

on across more central and eastern parts of the UK, well on into the

afternoon. So a pleasant Sunday. Temperatures into the low 20s.

Cooler in the rain out west. That weather system will spread towards

the south-east, bringing showery rain. But it should clear. Then a

brighter prospect for many of us on Monday. The start of Wimbledon of

course. More on that in a moment. The dry starch doesn't last. Further

frontal systems will push in across the Atlantic, bringing in wet

weather. -- the dry start. Nobody knew from heavy rain on Tuesday.

After a dry start things go downhill. The exact position

uncertain, but expect things to go downhill, locally quite windy

weather as well. That weather system moves through. A bit of a lull

perhaps, but you can see what is just behind me. Another frontal

system could push in later in the day. Continuing the unsettled theme.

Often cool in the blustery winds. For Wimbledon, not a complete

washout. We do expect some rain at some stage. The roof might come in

handy. In recent weeks we've had high pressure mostly to the north.

Low pressure to the south. A clash of warm and cold air, generating

heavy rain, especially in central and eastern parts. Some shelter from

the easterly wind. The west of Scotland has benefited, with less

rain. If we look back at the stats are early June, while some places

have had more than enough rain, for the west of Scotland, especially the

Highlands, we had below average rainfall, with a shortage of water.

That's all about the change because the weather systems reconfigured

themselves. A strong westerly jet stream. Low pressure to the north,

high pressure to the south, meaning with a predominance of westerly

winds north-western areas will be wettest, south-eastern areas most

dry, often blustery and feeling cool as well. In
