Hello there. If you're hoping I'm going to tell you we're going to

0:00:030:00:06

have some prolonged warm, dry, settled weather,

0:00:060:00:08

you're probably going to be out of luck.

0:00:080:00:10

No significant changes in our weather.

0:00:100:00:12

The warm, dry, settled weather is with this high pressure.

0:00:120:00:16

It's across a good part of France and across Spain.

0:00:160:00:19

Instead, our weather is going to be dominated

0:00:190:00:22

again by areas of low pressure.

0:00:220:00:24

The one that's arriving on Saturday is a bit deeper,

0:00:240:00:26

so the winds are a bit stronger, and it's bringing outbreaks of rain,

0:00:260:00:29

particularly across Wales, northern England.

0:00:290:00:31

Showers or longer spells of rain for Scotland and Northern Ireland,

0:00:310:00:34

probably drying up across the south-east, the Midlands,

0:00:340:00:37

East Anglia, as well, and here we've got some very warm

0:00:370:00:39

and humid air. Temperatures could get into the mid-twenties.

0:00:390:00:43

Further north, about 19 or 20 is going to be fairly typical.

0:00:430:00:47

Some rain as we head into the evening,

0:00:470:00:49

and this band of rain here will start to ease its way towards

0:00:490:00:52

the south-east later on Saturday night into Sunday morning,

0:00:520:00:56

showers coming back into Scotland and Northern Ireland.

0:00:560:00:59

Another very warm one, especially for England and Wales.

0:00:590:01:02

A humid start to the second half of the weekend.

0:01:020:01:05

Our area of low pressure seems to be sitting to the north-west of the UK.

0:01:050:01:10

That weather from there is producing a little rain or

0:01:100:01:12

drizzle across the south-east, East Anglia on Sunday morning.

0:01:120:01:16

It should clear in time for the start of Wimbledon,

0:01:160:01:18

but there could be some showers following on behind that

0:01:180:01:21

across England and Wales. Blustery winds, too.

0:01:210:01:23

Not bad if you get the sunshine, reasonable temperatures.

0:01:230:01:26

Cooler for Scotland and Northern Ireland, especially in the west of

0:01:260:01:29

Scotland and Northern Ireland, where we'll find showers or longer

0:01:290:01:32

spells of rain because we're closer to that area of low pressure.

0:01:320:01:35

The centre of that low pressure will start to drift towards England and

0:01:350:01:39

Wales on Monday, so essentially it's right over the top of the country.

0:01:390:01:43

Around the southern flank of that low pressure we'll have some

0:01:430:01:46

stronger winds across South Wales, southern England,

0:01:460:01:48

but, as you can see, there'll be widespread showers.

0:01:480:01:51

In the south they'll move fairly quickly. They'll still be heavy.

0:01:510:01:54

Further north across the UK, where the winds are lighter,

0:01:540:01:57

the showers will be slow-moving and could linger for quite some time,

0:01:570:02:00

and the possibility of some localised flooding, perhaps.

0:02:000:02:03

Still quite a few showers to come on Tuesday, as well,

0:02:030:02:05

especially for eastern Scotland and for a while across eastern England.

0:02:050:02:09

Showers much fewer and further between.

0:02:090:02:11

It may well be dry towards the south-west

0:02:110:02:13

and across Northern Ireland, too.

0:02:130:02:14

We've got this slightly cooler - "fresher," probably a better term -

0:02:140:02:18

north-westerly air flow as we head into the middle of the week.

0:02:180:02:21

Keeping an eye on that area of low pressure.

0:02:210:02:23

Probably not going to reach us on Wednesday.

0:02:230:02:25

Instead, there'll be some sunshine around.

0:02:250:02:27

Probably more showers in the south this time on Wednesday,

0:02:270:02:31

and temperatures won't be quite as high.

0:02:310:02:33

We're looking at around 16 to 19 degrees.

0:02:330:02:35

That's not too clever for this time of the year.

0:02:350:02:37

That low pressure I mentioned looks like it's going to steer

0:02:370:02:40

its way to the south of the UK, and all eyes on this high pressure.

0:02:400:02:44

We need that to build in to give us any prolonged dry weather.

0:02:440:02:48

And it's been delayed, in fact.

0:02:480:02:50

I'm not sure how much of it is going to arrive.

0:02:500:02:52

We've got a big low pressure coming in from the Atlantic.

0:02:520:02:55

And with the jet stream later in the week into next weekend

0:02:550:02:58

in this position again, we're just going to steer low pressures

0:02:580:03:02

close to the UK, particularly towards the north-west of the UK.

0:03:020:03:05

So we'll probably end up with more of a north/south split, if you like,

0:03:050:03:09

later in the week into the weekend.

0:03:090:03:11

It'll be a drier start with that brief ridge of high pressure.

0:03:110:03:14

Wetter, windier weather across the north, always going to be that bit

0:03:140:03:17

warmer in the south, where it should be drier from time to time

0:03:170:03:22

and maybe a little humid from time to time, as well.

0:03:220:03:24

But essentially, the weather is staying very

0:03:240:03:26

unsettled for the foreseeable future. Goodbye.
