Hello. If you were watching the news, you may have seen pictures

from the United States

of widespread flooding in Florida

because of what was

once a hurricane,

now been downgraded to

a tropical storm - Hermine.

You can see this huge swirl of rain.

Bright colours indicate

the heavy downpours.

Some places saw 6, 7 inches of rain,

and widespread flooding

is the result.

That's pretty much what we've seen.

As we head back to our shores,

you can see quite a lot of cloud in the Atlantic,

and all of this is heading our way

for the start of the weekend.

It's a series of weather fronts,

which will spread rain in from the west,

and the isobars are quite tightly packed,

so we are going to see quite windy conditions

across the south and west.

It will be a pretty breezy day for all.

Not such a bad start for central and eastern areas.

Make the most of that,

because all this rain out west

will spread its way to most places during the day.

By the afternoon, windy in the south and west,

gusts getting up to 40, 45mph.

Be aware of that.

Not a great feel to things -

Glasgow, Newcastle, Belfast - 15 degrees,

21, 22, if you're lucky, in the southeast.

Another pulse of rain

through the evening.

That clears away,

however this curl of rain

back into the eastern side of Scotland

may stick around into early Sunday.

But overall, on Sunday,

it's a much better picture.

We have this ridge of high pressure

building in. It'll settle things down

across western areas,

but we will see showers, mainly in Scotland

and northern England,

but there will be spells of sunshine.

The further south and west you go -

light winds, sunny spells.

18 or 19 degrees for Glasgow and Belfast,

temperatures peaking in the southeast

at 22 or 23 degrees.

But as you get into next week,

we'll do a lot better than that

because it is going to warm up.

For many, it will feel like a high summer

but maybe not so on Monday

in Northern Ireland and west of Scotland.

It'll be breezy and cloudy,

but the breeze coming in from the south.

Most of England and Wales having a reasonable day -

temperatures in the low 20s quite widely,

the upper teens further north,

still only 15 degrees in northeast Scotland.

By Tuesday, we'll see rain on this weather front

draped across more northern parts,

Northern Ireland and southern Scotland in particular,

but for England and Wales a lot of dry and bright weather,

the breeze coming in from the southeast,

so the low to middle 20s quite widely.

Even northern Scotland will see the low 20s.

Temperatures will continue to rise into Wednesday.

Low pressure to the west, high pressure to the east,

and winds continue to come up from the south.

Into the latter part of next week,

we've still got

low pressure to the west

and high pressure to the east.

It may move further north,

and if you're close to this low,

you may see some strong winds

and some rain but, overall,

even on into the next weekend,

we're still pulling in the air

from a long way south,

so we can expect those

high temperatures to linger

well on into next week.

By the middle of next week,

we'll probably see 25, 26 degrees quite widely.

So, on into next weekend,

we'll see the southerly breeze bringing much warmer conditions

to pretty much all parts of the UK

and with high pressure the dominant force,

we are generally settled,

with a lot of dry weather for most of us. Bye for now.
