-to find different creatures.

-These are Humboldt penguins.

-can live in the sea and on land.

-Unlike penguins, sea turtles

-prefer to live in the sea.

-They spend 90% of their lives

-in the water.

-The only time they come out

-of the water is to have babies.

-Every 2-5 years,

-females leave the sea to lay eggs.

-After 60 days,

-babies hatch from the eggs.

-What's the first thing they do?

-They head straight back to the sea.

-They're probably searching

-for their mother.

-This turtle is called Menai.

-She was discovered

-on the banks of the Menai...

-..on Anglesey.

-A woman taking her dog for a walk

-found it.

-The woman thought Menai

-was a stone...

-..until she saw its head

-emerging from its shell.

-No-one knows

-where Menai's journey started.

-From South America possibly.

-Or Africa.

-We do know it swam for a long time

-before reaching Wales.

-It's the first sea turtle

-to ever reach the Welsh coastline.

-It was cold when it arrived

-at the sea zoo.

-By heating the tank water slowly,

-over a period of weeks...

-..it's nice and warm now.

-Since it embarked

-on such a dangerous journey...

-..air was trapped under its shell.

-It means that Menai

-can't swim underwater.

-Menai was taken to a scanner

-in London to locate the air pocket.

-Menai is now in the sea zoo.

-Over the next few weeks, the vets

-will try and remove the air pocket.

-Hopefully, one day,

-Menai can return home.

-For now,

-the sea zoo is Menai's home.

-After a dangerous journey,

-Menai will stay here to recover.

-Menai looks very happy.

-I think Menai needs sleep.
