Radzi on Ice Blue Peter Bite

This is Blue Peter, but mini.

Expect epic adventures, mates, bakes, badges, pets,

presenters and your host. We've only got five minutes,

so get ready for your Blue Peter adventure.

We are here in London because, later tonight, Disney On Ice will be

presenting the Magical Ice Festival,

in this massive arena.

This show is epic.

Visiting 29 cities,

covering a total of 12,000 miles.

This ice extravaganza is truly magical.

And guess who's got a starring role? That's right, me.

And, in traditional Blue Peter fashion, I've got a day to learn.

So in just ten hours, I must attempt a routine

and skate like the pros in tonight's show.

I've got no time to waste. It's Anna and Elsa!

Well, maybe just a minute. I know what we need to do.

Let's take a selfie!

Enough of that. Let's lace up.

Helmet on, I'm ready.

It's Radzi On Ice.

Off we go, then!

This is me going. This is me going.

-OK, we're going to need some work here.

-Yeah, we are!

Performance director Jackie has the unlucky job of trying to train me.

Can you tell I haven't done this since I was 11?

Oh, dear! Hang on. Hang on!

I've stopped. Jackie, what did you think of my warm-up?

Um, I think we have a little way to go.

Yep. You're being very, very polite.

What's the first thing that I need to learn?

Well, I think, first of all we need to teach you how to stop,

-so I don't have to stop for you.

-Right. OK.

I'm going to take one push forward and then we're just going to drag

our back foot. And...turn your foot up.

Do you know what? Every part of my body is trying to stop me doing...

what I'm meant to - I can't even speak, I'm that unbalanced.

It should be easy. All I have to do is stop without spinning.

-Oh, almost!

-Aw, without your hand, it goes pear-shaped.

This is definitely tougher than it looks.

HE GROANS

Argh!

It's so frustrating. The very first thing I've been taught to do,

I can't quite do it.

I keep spinning and I need to learn, and time is ticking.

Hang on, I think I've cracked it.

Well, sort of. Yes!

-Jackie, I was quite pleased with that.

-It was better, it was better.

But I was starting to realise that to keep up with these guys,

I'd have to raise my game.

Time to pull a Radzi special.

And that wasn't it.

Jackie, this is a great example of one of those things that is so much harder than it actually looks.

Is there any way I can kind of cheat a little bit, perhaps?

Well, we do have a bit of a secret weapon for you.

You're going to be pushing a prop round the ice this evening.

So we're going to have you help with the cart ride for the show.

Bring out the cart!

Look at that!

OK, let's have you on the cart.

This is definitely achievable.

I'm loving this. Yeah!

And remember your stop.

-Look at that stop with the cart.

-Yes!

-Very good.

-High five!

It's almost showtime, and while the ice gets ready, so must I.

I've been trying my best to skate like a star,

now I just need to look like one. Michael, could you measure me up,

-please?

-Sure, let's have your arms up.

Oh, yeah!

I look the part. But now it's just time for me to get in the zone.

This is my moment.

There's one Radzi, one cart

and literally no ability whatsoever.

And let's not forget all the people.

CHEERING

Can you hear that?

That means I'm about two minutes from going on.

And as the show starts, I'm beginning to get excited.

Bring it on!
