Good, because today's dance tells a story.

We're not just dancers, we're storytellers too.

So, let's saddle up and ride out on a really royal adventure.

Our story starts with a lonely princess in a tall tower,

who dreams of meeting a brave young prince.

# Trying to catch your princess through the sun and wind and rain

Today we'll get to know the princess in our story.

First, all that princely galloping reminds me of the moves we found

for the chorus of our song. Do you remember them?

-And we giddy up, giddy up, giddy up.

And then we wave our flag around in the air.

Let's go this way. We go in this direction, giddy up, giddy up.

Then we show our strong arms and then we do a heart shape

into our princess looking out of the tall tower.

That's the main part of our song, called the chorus.

It'll be coming back again. Don't worry if you didn't get it,

you will once you've heard it again.

Now, let's find some moves for the verses of our song.

The verses are the bits in between the chorus.

Let's start with verse one and the beginning of our story.

And then we can stretch out our arms right up to the sky

to show our tall, tall tower.

We can roll our hands for the once upon a time move.

And then stretch up our hands to show our tall, tall tower.

Then we can bend them round in a heart shape,

put them underneath our chin to show our sad and lonely princess -

a little bit like our chorus.

Let's see how our story's looking.

Oh, yes, our princess wants a prince.

So let's gaze out of the window and search for our prince.

Because she doesn't get what she wants, she stomps her feet.

And she nods her head.

"I said I'd like a handsome prince to cheer things up round here."

When we practise, my teacher plays so that all of us keep in beat.

Today we're doing the fifth and seventh step

and we have to do it really fast.

Excellent!

When we dance we do lots of expressions, called abhinaya.

My favourite thing about Indian dance is performing

because we have to dance in front of lots of people.

In Indian stories the first dancer was supposed to be Natarajah,

who is the king of dancing.

If you see him in pictures, he's normally in this position...
