CBeebies Bedtime Story! | 0:06:02 | 0:06:07
Arr! There must be treasure around here some place! | 0:06:07 | 0:06:11
Ho ho ho! Oh, hello! | 0:06:11 | 0:06:13
I'm Toby. In fact, I'm Pirate Toby, and I'm looking for some treasure. | 0:06:13 | 0:06:19
Do you know where it's hidden? | 0:06:19 | 0:06:21
In tonight's Bedtime Story, Flinn - I mean, Captain Flinn - | 0:06:21 | 0:06:26
is looking for some treasure, | 0:06:26 | 0:06:28
and it's called Captain Flinn And The Pirate Dinosaurs: | 0:06:28 | 0:06:32
Missing Treasure, by Giles Andreae and Russell Ayto. | 0:06:32 | 0:06:38
Flinn loves dinosaurs. | 0:06:38 | 0:06:41
Tomorrow is a very special day, because Flinn's teacher, | 0:06:41 | 0:06:45
Miss Pie, is taking his class to see | 0:06:45 | 0:06:48
the dinosaur skeletons at the museum. | 0:06:48 | 0:06:51
"Here we are," said Miss Pie. | 0:06:51 | 0:06:53
"Now, remember, stay together, and don't touch anything!" | 0:06:53 | 0:06:58
Flinn's class followed the museum guide to the skeleton room. | 0:06:58 | 0:07:02
"This is the Gigantosaurus," said the guide. "He was even bigger | 0:07:02 | 0:07:07
"and more ferocious than the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex." | 0:07:07 | 0:07:11
In the next room, there was a big glass case, | 0:07:11 | 0:07:14
but it was completely empty. | 0:07:14 | 0:07:16
"It used to hold treasure of the famous pirate captain | 0:07:16 | 0:07:19
"Rufus Rumblebelly, | 0:07:19 | 0:07:22
"but it was stolen last night." "Real pirate treasure!" | 0:07:22 | 0:07:27
said Flinn, who liked pirates just as much as dinosaurs. | 0:07:27 | 0:07:31
"But who could have stolen it?" | 0:07:31 | 0:07:33
"Look," said Tom, "Maybe these peculiar feathers are a clue." | 0:07:33 | 0:07:38
"They seem to be leading to that cupboard," said Pearl. | 0:07:38 | 0:07:40
"Let's follow them," said Violet. | 0:07:40 | 0:07:42
So Flinn and his friends quietly opened the door and slipped through. | 0:07:42 | 0:07:47
At that moment, the back of the cupboard fell away, | 0:07:47 | 0:07:50
and Flinn and his friends all tumbled out into the captain's | 0:07:50 | 0:07:54
cabin of an old-fashioned pirate ship! | 0:07:54 | 0:07:56
"Help! Help!" shrieked a pirate, who was tied to a table. | 0:07:56 | 0:08:02
"My treasure! | 0:08:02 | 0:08:03
"They've stolen my treasure!" | 0:08:03 | 0:08:05
"What treasure?" asked Flinn, as he quickly untied the pirate. | 0:08:05 | 0:08:09
"Why, the famous treasure of Rufus Rumblebelly," said the pirate. | 0:08:09 | 0:08:13
"I'm Gordon Gurgleguts, and Rufus Rumblebelly was my granddaddy. | 0:08:13 | 0:08:18
"I took the treasure from the museum just to have a look, | 0:08:18 | 0:08:22
"but then someone stole it from me!" | 0:08:22 | 0:08:25
"That's amazing," said Flinn. "We're looking for the treasure, too. | 0:08:25 | 0:08:29
"We'll help you find it. | 0:08:29 | 0:08:31
"But only if you promise to take it straight back to the museum." | 0:08:31 | 0:08:35
"All right," said Gurgleguts. "I promise. | 0:08:35 | 0:08:39
"And why don't you be our captain? Here, take my hat." | 0:08:39 | 0:08:43
So Captain Flinn took the helm. "Island ahoy!" | 0:08:43 | 0:08:47
shouted Pirate Violet from the crow's nest. | 0:08:47 | 0:08:50
"Follow me, everyone," said Captain Flinn. | 0:08:50 | 0:08:53
"There's thick jungle ahead, and we don't want anyone to get lost. | 0:08:53 | 0:08:56
"Gurgleguts? Gurgleguts?! Where are you?!" | 0:08:56 | 0:09:01
"Wait," said Pirate Pearl. "What's that noise?" | 0:09:01 | 0:09:06
"Roooooooooooar!" | 0:09:06 | 0:09:10
In front of them was a clearing. | 0:09:10 | 0:09:12
Captain Flinn peered into it and shuddered. | 0:09:12 | 0:09:15
"Pirates," he said. | 0:09:15 | 0:09:18
"But they're not just ordinary pirates - | 0:09:18 | 0:09:20
"they're...pirate dinosaurs!" | 0:09:20 | 0:09:25
Beside the pirate dinosaurs was a huge pile of gleaming treasure. | 0:09:25 | 0:09:29
And next to the treasure, tied up from head to foot, was Gurgleguts! | 0:09:29 | 0:09:34
The pirate dinosaurs were singing a terrible song. | 0:09:34 | 0:09:38
# We're stolen all the treasure | 0:09:38 | 0:09:40
# We'll use it at our leisure | 0:09:40 | 0:09:42
# And won't it be a pleasure | 0:09:42 | 0:09:44
# For us all to live like kings? | 0:09:44 | 0:09:46
# And don't think we've forgotten | 0:09:46 | 0:09:48
# That this pirate's rather rotten | 0:09:48 | 0:09:50
# So let's barbecue his bottom | 0:09:50 | 0:09:51
# With some spicy chicken wings! # | 0:09:51 | 0:09:54
"Stop!" yelled Captain Flinn. "Untie my friend immediately!" | 0:09:54 | 0:09:59
"We couldn't possibly do that," said Tyrannosaurus Rex, | 0:09:59 | 0:10:02
squeezing a huge dollop of tomato ketchup onto Gurgleguts' head. | 0:10:02 | 0:10:07
"Well, then, you slimy, seafaring sausages," | 0:10:07 | 0:10:11
said Captain Flinn, drawing his cutlass. | 0:10:11 | 0:10:13
"You nasty, noodle-brained nincompoops, you dirty, | 0:10:13 | 0:10:17
"dastardly dunderheads - | 0:10:17 | 0:10:19
"you're going to have to eat me first! Attack!" | 0:10:19 | 0:10:23
Smash! Swoosh! Crash! | 0:10:23 | 0:10:26
Suddenly, Captain Flinn took a huge swipe at the Tyrannosaurus Rex | 0:10:26 | 0:10:30
and pinned him up against the tree. Pow! | 0:10:30 | 0:10:34
"Please spare me!" said the Tyrannosaurus Rex, | 0:10:34 | 0:10:37
"and I promise to be the goodest goodie in the whole world ever!" | 0:10:37 | 0:10:42
"You great big fibber," said Captain Flinn. | 0:10:42 | 0:10:46
"Fibber, eh?" said the Tyrannosaurus Rex angrily. | 0:10:46 | 0:10:49
"Well, then, I think it's time you met my cousin." | 0:10:49 | 0:10:54
The ground began to shake, | 0:10:54 | 0:10:56
and an enormous shadow fell over the island. | 0:10:56 | 0:10:59
There was the hugest, fiercest, | 0:10:59 | 0:11:02
most terrifying-loooking dinosaur in the whole world! | 0:11:02 | 0:11:07
"Gulp!" said Captain Flinn. "Who are you?" | 0:11:07 | 0:11:11
"I'm Gigantosaurus," roared the dinosaur. | 0:11:12 | 0:11:16
"Nothing in the whole world ever frightens me!" | 0:11:16 | 0:11:21
Then suddenly, "Aaaaagh!" cried Gigantosaurus. | 0:11:21 | 0:11:25
"Spider! Help!" | 0:11:25 | 0:11:27
A tiny spider was hanging from Captain Flinn's pirate hat. | 0:11:27 | 0:11:32
"Well, shiver me timbers," said Flinn. | 0:11:32 | 0:11:35
"Fancy a big, old dinosaur being scared of a teeny, weeny spider!" | 0:11:35 | 0:11:40
"They're just so creepy and crawly!" wailed the Gigantosaurus. | 0:11:40 | 0:11:43
"Keep him away from me, pleeeease!" | 0:11:43 | 0:11:47
In all the commotion, Captain Flinn saw his chance. | 0:11:47 | 0:11:50
He quickly freed Gurgleguts, and, in a flash, | 0:11:50 | 0:11:53
all the pirate dinosaurs and the Gigantosaurus were tightly tied up. | 0:11:53 | 0:11:58
"Quick, gang," he said. "Let's get back to the ship. | 0:11:58 | 0:12:01
"It's time to go home." | 0:12:01 | 0:12:03
And off they all sailed. "Land ahoy!" cried Violet. | 0:12:03 | 0:12:07
So the children hugged Gurgleguts goodbye. | 0:12:07 | 0:12:10
Then, one by one, they clambered through the ship, | 0:12:10 | 0:12:13
into the open cupboard, and back into the museum. | 0:12:13 | 0:12:17
"Wherever have you been?" said Miss Pie. | 0:12:17 | 0:12:20
"We found the missing treasure," said Flinn. | 0:12:20 | 0:12:23
"My goodness!" said the museum guide. | 0:12:23 | 0:12:26
"Well done! But who stole it?" | 0:12:26 | 0:12:29
"It's a long story," said Flinn, | 0:12:29 | 0:12:31
"but it ended up in the hands of pirates. | 0:12:31 | 0:12:33
"Oh, and they weren't just pirates. They were pirate dinosaurs." | 0:12:33 | 0:12:38
"Pirate dinosaurs?!" laughed the guide. | 0:12:38 | 0:12:41
"Just for your information," added Flinn, | 0:12:41 | 0:12:44
"I can tell you something about Gigantosaurus. | 0:12:44 | 0:12:47
"He was frightened of spiders. Very frightened indeed." | 0:12:47 | 0:12:52
So Flinn and his friends found the treasure, | 0:12:53 | 0:12:56
and whilst I look for my treasure, it's time for you to go to bed. | 0:12:56 | 0:13:00
I'll see you soon for another Bedtime Story. | 0:13:00 | 0:13:03
Night, night. | 0:13:03 | 0:13:04
Now, where shall I look? I know, over there. | 0:13:05 | 0:13:11
