Hello, I'm Kym and I've found the perfect spot to sit

0:22:070:22:10

and tell you a story.

0:22:100:22:12

There are lots of lovely places to sit

0:22:120:22:14

all around the CBeebies house,

0:22:140:22:17

but I wanted to find somewhere that was just right.

0:22:170:22:20

And this feels perfect.

0:22:200:22:22

The bear in tonight's bedtime story is looking for a perfect home.

0:22:220:22:26

Let's find out what happens.

0:22:260:22:29

The story is by Katie Cleminson and is called Otto The Book Bear.

0:22:290:22:34

Once upon a time, Otto was a book bear.

0:22:340:22:39

He lived in a book on a shelf in a house.

0:22:390:22:42

And he was at his happiest when children read his book.

0:22:420:22:45

But Otto also had a special secret.

0:22:450:22:49

When no one was looking, he came to life.

0:22:490:22:53

Otto loved to explore the house, to read his favourite stories

0:22:530:22:57

and practise his writing.

0:22:570:22:59

But one day, something terrible happened.

0:22:590:23:02

And Otto was left behind.

0:23:020:23:05

Otto didn't like being all alone. So he made a plan, packed a bag

0:23:050:23:11

and set off on a new adventure.

0:23:110:23:14

But the world outside made Otto feel very small.

0:23:140:23:18

Nobody seemed to notice him.

0:23:180:23:20

Otto began to search the city, hoping to find a new place to live.

0:23:200:23:25

But nowhere he went felt like home.

0:23:250:23:28

It was too busy, too wet, too cold, too smoky.

0:23:280:23:33

Too high, too windy and too unwelcoming.

0:23:330:23:38

Otto didn't like living in the city and he missed his warm book.

0:23:380:23:42

He was starting to feel downhearted.

0:23:420:23:46

But he decided to pick up his bag and carry on walking.

0:23:460:23:51

And just when he thought he couldn't walk any further,

0:23:510:23:56

when he felt cold and tired,

0:23:560:23:58

Otto saw a place that looked full of light and hope.

0:23:580:24:03

He went inside and found...

0:24:030:24:06

rows and rows of books.

0:24:060:24:09

Otto began to climb.

0:24:090:24:11

And there, at the end of the shelf, he saw something.

0:24:110:24:17

Could it be?

0:24:170:24:19

It was. Another book bear.

0:24:190:24:23

The other bear shook Otto's paw and said,

0:24:230:24:26

"I'm Ernest, how do you do?"

0:24:260:24:28

Otto's new friend showed him around the library

0:24:280:24:32

And he discovered it was full of book creatures just like him.

0:24:320:24:36

Together, with Ernest, he could once again read

0:24:360:24:40

his favourite stories, practise his writing

0:24:400:24:43

and try out all kinds of exciting new things.

0:24:430:24:46

And the best part was, now, Otto had lots of readers

0:24:460:24:51

and that made him the happiest book bear of all.

0:24:510:24:55

And that story was called Otto The Book Bear.

0:24:550:24:58

I think Otto and Ernest would be very happy here

0:24:580:25:01

in the CBeebies house, don't you?

0:25:010:25:04

This bed is very comfy.

0:25:040:25:05

I think I'll just snuggle up here for a little snooze.

0:25:050:25:09

And it's time for you to sleep too. Have you brushed teeth?

0:25:090:25:13

Cleaned your face? Gotten into your pyjamas?

0:25:130:25:16

Good. Then you're all ready for bed.

0:25:160:25:19

And I'll see you soon for another bedtime story.

0:25:190:25:22

Night, night.

0:25:220:25:23

Now just let me get comfy, then I can close my eyes.
