And you two are best friends.
And you two are.
And so are you.
Hello, I'm Adil.
The toys and I have just been talking about best friends.
Do you have a best friend?
I know someone who desperately wants to find a best friend.
Let me tell you all about him.
Tonight's bedtime story is called Bear's Best Friend,
and is by Lucy Coats and Sarah Dyer.
Bear has lots of friends, but he doesn't have a best friend.
Everyone has a best friend but Bear.
Squirrel has Mole, Rabbit has Frog,
and Deer has Hedgehog.
But who could be the best friend
for a bear who loves to make tree pictures.
Snippety-snip! Snip! Snip!
Bear makes a special tree picture for each of his friends.
Maybe that'll help him to have a proper think.
Bear wonders and wonders while he clippety-clips.
Would Hedgehog be too spiny? Hmm.
Deer too spiky?
Would Rabbit be too loppity?
Mole might be too velvety.
Squirrel - too flippy-floppy.
And would Frog be just too hoppity to hug.
All Bear's friends liked their tree pictures a lot.
"Oh, yes, I think you've caught something of my noble spirit."
"My, how big I look!"
They give a party, so that all the other animals can see them.
Soon, everyone in the forest wants a tree picture of their very own.
And here's Owl.
Bear is busier than a buzzy bee,
but he still hasn't found his best friend.
Bear sighs a big bear sigh.
Surely his best friend must be somewhere in the forest.
Soon, Bear is sad.
Three big fat tears fall onto his snipping scissors.
Then Bear hears a tiny whisper -
he turns round.
"Why are you crying, Bear?" says a shy little voice.
It's another bear!
A bear with hair!
Twirly! Swirly! Curly! Cuddly!
A best friend sort of bear.
With best friend sort of hair.
I hope you enjoyed that story, which was called Bear's Best Friend.
I'm so pleased Bear found a best friend, aren't you?
It's time now for you to snuggle up
and dream about all the fun times you might have with your best friend.
I hope I will see you soon for another bedtime story.
