Hello. I'm Sarah.

Tonight's bedtime story is called We're Not Sleepy

and it's by Joanne Partis.

It was a warm summer's evening down on the farm.

In the farmhouse, Mum says, "Time for bed."

"But we're not sleepy," said her three little kittens.

"When you can't sleep, you need to count sheep," said Mum.

So the three little kittens set out to find some sheep to count.

They found one shaggy sheepdog.

But no sheep.

Two munching cows.

COW MOOS

But no sheep.

Three playful foxes.

Jump. Cross. Whoops.

But no sheep.

Four bouncy rabbits.

But no sheep.

Five hooting owls.

But no sheep.

Six friendly pigs.

Oink. Oink.

But no sheep.

Seven chirping chickens.

But no sheep.

Eight noisy ducks.

But no sheep.

Nine nervous mice.

But no sheep.

By now, the kittens had counted so many things.

At last, they felt sleepy.

They stretched,

they yawned and snuggled down in the soft grass.

But they weren't the only ones in the field.

They were surrounded by...

ten surprised sheep.

And Mum said, "I told you it would work."

That story was called We're Not Sleepy.
