CBeebies Bedtime Story. | 1:03:02 | 1:03:05
Hello. I'm Louise. I've just found this suitcase. | 1:03:08 | 1:03:11
It's got some very special things inside. | 1:03:11 | 1:03:15
Do you know who it belongs to? No, me neither. | 1:03:15 | 1:03:18
Perhaps tonight's bedtime story will help us to find out. | 1:03:18 | 1:03:21
Would you like to hear it? | 1:03:21 | 1:03:24
You would? That's great! | 1:03:24 | 1:03:25
Tonight's story is called, Just Right For Two, | 1:03:25 | 1:03:29
and it's by Tracey Corderoy and Rosalind Beardshaw. | 1:03:29 | 1:03:33
Dog had a big blue suitcase. | 1:03:33 | 1:03:35
He took it with him everywhere. | 1:03:35 | 1:03:38
Inside were all his special things. | 1:03:38 | 1:03:41
A bumpy little fir cone, a pebble, sparkly and small, | 1:03:41 | 1:03:46
some dancing leaves, a really good stick, | 1:03:46 | 1:03:50
a soft, tickly feather | 1:03:50 | 1:03:52
and a big red, shiny button. | 1:03:52 | 1:03:55
With his special things safely packed away, | 1:03:55 | 1:03:58
Dog watched the moon rise. | 1:03:58 | 1:04:00
"I have everything I need," he told the stars, | 1:04:00 | 1:04:04
then he snuggled down on his big blue suitcase, | 1:04:04 | 1:04:07
which was just the right size for one. | 1:04:07 | 1:04:11
But next morning when he woke, | 1:04:11 | 1:04:13
someone else was sleeping on his big blue suitcase, too. | 1:04:13 | 1:04:17
"Hey! You can't sleep on here!" cried Dog. | 1:04:17 | 1:04:21
"Oh, why not?" asked Mouse. | 1:04:21 | 1:04:25
"Because all my special things are in there," Dog said. | 1:04:25 | 1:04:29
"Can I have a peep inside?" asked Mouse. | 1:04:29 | 1:04:32
"Then I'll go, I promise." | 1:04:32 | 1:04:34
"Just one tiny peep, then," nodded Dog. | 1:04:34 | 1:04:39
Mouse...peeped inside at Dog's special things. | 1:04:39 | 1:04:44
"I have everything I need in here," Dog said. | 1:04:44 | 1:04:48
"Thank you for showing me, Dog," smiled Mouse. | 1:04:48 | 1:04:52
"Now, before I go, how about a game of hide-and-seek?" | 1:04:52 | 1:04:55
Dog thought. | 1:04:55 | 1:04:58
"Well, just one tiny game," he said. | 1:05:00 | 1:05:03
So Dog and Mouse played one tiny game. | 1:05:03 | 1:05:07
Then a much bigger one. | 1:05:07 | 1:05:10
"Found you!" laughed Dog. | 1:05:10 | 1:05:12
"Oh, playing is quite fun really." | 1:05:12 | 1:05:16
Later, when Mouse went on his way, the wood felt suddenly quiet. | 1:05:16 | 1:05:21
To cheer himself up, Dog opened his suitcase | 1:05:23 | 1:05:27
and gazed at his special things. | 1:05:27 | 1:05:31
But, "Oh," he sighed, "something doesn't feel right. | 1:05:31 | 1:05:36
"Maybe Mouse will know what it is." | 1:05:36 | 1:05:39
So Dog set off to find him. | 1:05:39 | 1:05:42
Luckily, Mouse was not far away. | 1:05:42 | 1:05:45
"Oh, Dog," cried Mouse, "you look sad. What's wrong?" | 1:05:45 | 1:05:49
"Well," said Dog, "I thought I had everything I needed in my suitcase, | 1:05:49 | 1:05:53
"but now I think I need something else. What can it be?" | 1:05:53 | 1:05:57
Dog was so puzzled. | 1:05:57 | 1:05:58
"Don't worry," smiled Mouse, "whatever it is, we'll find it." | 1:05:58 | 1:06:03
So Dog searched one way and Mouse searched the other. | 1:06:03 | 1:06:06
Both trying to find the something else Dog needed. | 1:06:06 | 1:06:10
On and on and on they searched, until... Bump! | 1:06:10 | 1:06:14
"It's you," cried Dog, scooping up his friend. | 1:06:14 | 1:06:18
"You're the special something else I need." | 1:06:18 | 1:06:21
"Me?" wondered Mouse, "But I'm nothing special." | 1:06:21 | 1:06:24
"You're you," smiled Dog, "and that's very special." | 1:06:24 | 1:06:28
Later, they shared juicy apples for supper. | 1:06:29 | 1:06:32
"Thank you, Dog," beamed Mouse. "I've had the best day ever!" | 1:06:32 | 1:06:36
"Me, too," nodded Dog, with a great big sticky smile. | 1:06:36 | 1:06:42
From then on, Dog and Mouse watched the moon rise together. | 1:06:42 | 1:06:47
They sat side by side on the big blue suitcase, | 1:06:47 | 1:06:51
which was, actually, just the right size for two. | 1:06:51 | 1:06:55
That story was called, Just Right For Two. | 1:06:58 | 1:07:01
I'm so glad Dog found what he was missing. | 1:07:01 | 1:07:03
There's nothing more special, is there, than a very good friend? | 1:07:03 | 1:07:08
It's time for you to snuggle up with your teddy and go to sleep. | 1:07:08 | 1:07:12
I'd better get this suitcase back to Dog and Mouse. | 1:07:12 | 1:07:15
They'll be wanting to sit on it to watch the moon rise tonight. | 1:07:15 | 1:07:19
See you soon. Night-night. | 1:07:19 | 1:07:21 |
