Hello. I'm Lisa.
I'm so sorry. I just can't seem to stop laughing today.
I don't know what has come over me, honestly.
Oh, that's better.
Although, I must say, that was great fun.
I love to laugh. Do you?
Would you like to hear a tale full of giggles?
Tonight's bedtime story is by Thomas Taylor and Penny Dann,
and it's called Too Many Tickles!
There are too many tickles in our house.
When we wake up in the morning,
Mum comes in with her swirly-whirly, round-the-tummy-button tickles.
It's never too early for swirly-whirlies.
We get dressed quickly, then giggle and wriggle and run downstairs.
But Dad's there with... Watch out!
He's got big hands, under-the-arm side-grabbers.
We don't want side-grabbers for breakfast.
So we dodge and dash to the kitchen,
only to find Gran's waiting
with her easy-teasy, slightly squeezy, behind-the-knees-y tickles.
It's tricky not to spill things with easy-teasies.
We escape to the garden,
but Grandpa's there with the silliest tickle of all.
It's the make us squirm-y like a worm-y,
under-the-ear, right-here tickles.
There's just no escape from these tickles,
especially when they all come after us at once.
There's only one way to deal with them -
when no-one's looking,
we creep carefully and quietly and we tickle back.
A swirly-whirly for Mum. A side-grabber for Dad.
And an easy-teasy for Grandma.
Best of all, Grandpa gets
a great, fat, tickly worm, under the ear, right here.
There are too many tickles in our house,
and they don't even stop at bedtime.
That story was called Too Many Tickles!
Do you like a tickle?
Well, all this giggling has made me feel very sleepy.
I think it's time we all settled down for a good night's sleep.
Night-night, and tickle tight.
Oops. I mean, night-night and sleep tight.
