Hello, I'm Tom. | 0:07:06 | 0:07:08
I've come to finish telling you the story of Henny Penny. | 0:07:08 | 0:07:12
Do you remember? | 0:07:12 | 0:07:13
We met Henny Penny who thought that the sky | 0:07:13 | 0:07:15
was falling when an acorn dropped on her head. | 0:07:15 | 0:07:18
BOP! | 0:07:18 | 0:07:19 | |
She and her friends set off to find the King | 0:07:19 | 0:07:22
to tell him what happened. But on the way they met a fox | 0:07:22 | 0:07:25
who tricked them into going to his house. | 0:07:25 | 0:07:28
Shall we see what happens next? | 0:07:28 | 0:07:31
So, Foxy Loxy led them through the grass and under the trees | 0:07:31 | 0:07:35
and in and out of the bushes. Until suddenly... | 0:07:35 | 0:07:38
they were in a dusty musty kitchen in a dusty musty house, | 0:07:38 | 0:07:42
and Foxy Loxy was shutting the door behind them. | 0:07:42 | 0:07:45
CREAKING | 0:07:45 | 0:07:46
-"Gobble gobble gobble!" -said Turkey Lurkey. | 0:07:46 | 0:07:49
"Is this where the King lives?" | 0:07:49 | 0:07:51
-"No, my dears," -said Foxy Loxy. -"This is my house. | 0:07:51 | 0:07:55
"And I thought we could all have a lovely dinner | 0:07:55 | 0:07:58
"before we go to see the King. | 0:07:58 | 0:08:00
"Just sit yourselves down and I'll light a fire." | 0:08:00 | 0:08:04
Ducky Lucky settled down on the hearth mat. | 0:08:05 | 0:08:07
Cocky Locky perched on a chair. | 0:08:07 | 0:08:10
Goosey Loosey and Turkey Lurkey flapped up to the sofa. | 0:08:10 | 0:08:14
Henny Penny stood very still and looked around. | 0:08:14 | 0:08:17
She saw the feathers on the floor. | 0:08:17 | 0:08:20
She saw the pile of old bones in the corner. | 0:08:20 | 0:08:23
She saw Foxy Loxy putting a big pan of water on the roaring fire, | 0:08:23 | 0:08:27
and she saw him lay the table with one fork, one spoon | 0:08:27 | 0:08:30
and one big sharp knife. | 0:08:30 | 0:08:32
Henny Penny felt pale. | 0:08:36 | 0:08:38
But she shook her head and she fluffed up her feathers. | 0:08:38 | 0:08:41
-"Henny Penny," -she said to herself, | 0:08:41 | 0:08:44
"you may be a silly Henny Penny, | 0:08:44 | 0:08:46
"but there's sure to be something you can do." | 0:08:46 | 0:08:49
And Henny Penny had an idea. | 0:08:49 | 0:08:51
-"Oh, Mr Fox!" -said Henny Penny, -"What a mess, what a muddle. | 0:08:53 | 0:08:57
"Do let me tidy it up." | 0:08:57 | 0:09:00
And she took her duster out of her pocket. | 0:09:00 | 0:09:02
-Foxy Loxy was most surprised. -"A what?" -he said. | 0:09:02 | 0:09:06
Ducky Lucky, Cocky Locky, Goosey Loosey and Turkey Lurkey | 0:09:06 | 0:09:10
-stared at Henny Penny. -"Gobble gobble gobble." | 0:09:10 | 0:09:13
-"What about our tea?" -said Turkey Lurkey. | 0:09:13 | 0:09:15
-"Let's make Mr Fox comfortable first," -Henny Penny said. | 0:09:15 | 0:09:19
"Now, Mr Fox, you sit down and take a rest. | 0:09:19 | 0:09:22
"I'll give your room a polish and a shine | 0:09:22 | 0:09:24
"and wake you up when it's tidy." | 0:09:24 | 0:09:26
Foxy Loxy stroked his whiskers. | 0:09:26 | 0:09:28
His house certainly was rather messy, now he came to look at it. | 0:09:28 | 0:09:33
-"Very well, then," -he said, | 0:09:33 | 0:09:35
"But be sure to wake me the moment you've finished, ah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha. | 0:09:35 | 0:09:41
-"Gobble gobble gobble!" -said Turkey Lurkey. | 0:09:41 | 0:09:44
"Then we'll all have tea." | 0:09:44 | 0:09:45
-"We certainly will," -said Foxy Loxy. | 0:09:45 | 0:09:49
And he licked his lips as he sat himself down in his comfiest chair. | 0:09:49 | 0:09:54
Henny Penny began to dust. As she dusted she began to sing. | 0:09:54 | 0:09:59
# Hush, Mr Foxy and close your eyes | 0:09:59 | 0:10:02
# Soon you'll be having a special surprise... # | 0:10:02 | 0:10:05
-"Gobble gobble gobble!" -said Turkey Lurkey. | 0:10:05 | 0:10:08
"Will we have a special surprise, too?" | 0:10:08 | 0:10:11
-Foxy Loxy opened one eye. -"Oh, yes," -he said, | 0:10:11 | 0:10:15
and his belly rumbled. | 0:10:15 | 0:10:17
"You'll have a big surprise, Turkey Lurkey, ah-ha-ha-ha-heh." | 0:10:17 | 0:10:21
-"Sh, Turkey Lurkey!" -said Henny Penny. | 0:10:22 | 0:10:25
And she went on dusting and singing. | 0:10:25 | 0:10:27
# Hush, Mr Foxy, close your eyes | 0:10:27 | 0:10:29
# Soon you'll be having a special surprise. # | 0:10:29 | 0:10:32
Foxy Loxy sighed and closed his eyes. | 0:10:32 | 0:10:35
Henny Penny went on dusting and singing. | 0:10:35 | 0:10:38
Foxy Loxy began to snore. | 0:10:38 | 0:10:40
Zz-zz-zz... | 0:10:40 | 0:10:42
Henny Penny went on singing but she quietly, | 0:10:42 | 0:10:46
quietly, | 0:10:46 | 0:10:47
-HE WHISPERS: -Quietly opened the door. | 0:10:47 | 0:10:50
And Ducky Lucky, Cocky Locky and Goosey Loosey tiptoed out... | 0:10:50 | 0:10:56
-"Gobble gobble!" -said Turkey Lurkey. | 0:10:56 | 0:10:58
-"What about my surprise?" -Foxy Loxy grunted in his sleep. | 0:10:58 | 0:11:02
-"Turkey Lurkey," -whispered Henny Penny. | 0:11:02 | 0:11:05
"If you don't tiptoe out, | 0:11:05 | 0:11:07
"Mr Fox will give you a great big terrible surprise! | 0:11:07 | 0:11:10
"He'll eat you for his dinner!" | 0:11:10 | 0:11:13
-"GOBBLE GOBBLE GOBBLE!" -shouted Turkey Lurkey. | 0:11:13 | 0:11:16
He flapped, and flurried, | 0:11:16 | 0:11:17
and flounced through the door as fast as he could, | 0:11:17 | 0:11:20
and Henny Penny flew after him just as Foxy Loxy woke up. | 0:11:20 | 0:11:24
Just as the door banged shut behind them. | 0:11:24 | 0:11:27
Turkey Lurkey, Goosey Loosey, Cocky Locky and Ducky Lucky | 0:11:27 | 0:11:31
didn't say anything at all until they reached Henny Penny's house. | 0:11:31 | 0:11:36
There was a wonderful smell of corncake | 0:11:36 | 0:11:39
as Henny Penny opened the door and let them in. | 0:11:39 | 0:11:43
-"I don't think we'll bother the King today," -Henny Penny said. | 0:11:43 | 0:11:47
"Let's have a slice of corncake instead." | 0:11:47 | 0:11:50
And that, as Turkey Lurkey said, was the best surprise of all. | 0:11:50 | 0:11:56
That story was called Henny Penny. | 0:11:58 | 0:12:02
I think Henny Penny and her friends had a very lucky escape, don't you? | 0:12:02 | 0:12:06
Yeah. That naughty fox was up to no good | 0:12:06 | 0:12:10
and Turkey Lurkey nearly ruined it for everyone. | 0:12:10 | 0:12:14
-Because he kept going, -"Gobble gobble gobble!" | 0:12:14 | 0:12:17
Anyway, I'm glad they got home safely. | 0:12:17 | 0:12:20
Now, after that adventure I think it's time you went to bed. | 0:12:20 | 0:12:24
So, off you go, to get tucked up warm and cosy. | 0:12:24 | 0:12:28
Sleep tight. | 0:12:28 | 0:12:30
Sweet dreams about lovely corncake. | 0:12:30 | 0:12:34 |
