And are you wearing your favourite pyjamas?

I wonder if there are animals in the garden in their favourite pyjamas.

What do you mean, animals don't wear pyjamas? Of course they do.

Just listen to this story...

Meet Polly Jean Pyjama Queen.

She has the wildest pyjamas you have ever seen.

From high in the trees to hot sunny places.

From deep in the sea to icy cold spaces.

From down in the woods and up swampy streams,

the wildest animals you could meet in your dreams.

Polly Jean sits in bed one morning.

Stretching and thinking and thinking and...

..yawning.

When the animals go to sleep at night,

what are their pyjamas like?

"I'll have a party," Polly Jean cries.

"And for the wildest pyjamas, I'll give a prize."

Out come her papers and pencils and pens

to make invitations to send to her friends.

She checks each address in a map on the wall.

Soon she'll know whose pyjamas are the wildest of all.

"Dear Lion, I am having a wild pyjama party for my birthday.

"There'll be a wild feast

"and a prize for the best pyjamas.

"Can you come? Write soon!

"PS. When you go to bed at night, what are your pyjamas like?"

"Dear Polly Jean,

"I am the king of the jungle.

"I prowl and growl and roar.

"I also like to sleep a lot.

"Then growl and sleep some more.

"My royal pyjamas are fit for a king.

"With crowns all over, they're sure to win.

"Love, Lion."

"Dear Crocodile,

"can you come to my wild pyjama party night?

"There will be wild singing and Lion and Penguin too.

"And a prize for the greatest pyjamas.

"PS. Which pyjamas do you choose

"when it's time for your evening snooze?"

"Dear Polly Jean,

"I have so many pointy teeth to keep all clean and shiny

"my pyjamas have toothbrushes on,

"all over to remind me.

"They are the snappiest on the river bank.

"That prize is mine, I think.

"Love, Crocodile."

"Dear Octopus.

"You are invited to a wild pyjama party.

"There will be wild games and Lion, Penguin, Crocodile

"and Giraffe too, and a prize for the coolest pyjamas.

"PS. Way down in the ocean deep,

"what do you wear when you go to sleep?"

"Oh dear, Polly Jean, putting on pyjamas underwater can be fiddly

"when you've got eight legs and they're rather wriggly.

"But now they're numbered one to eight,

"putting them on is a piece of cake.

"With the smartest pyjamas in all the sea,

"that prize is truly meant for me. Love, Octopus."

"Dear Monkey, I'm having a wild pyjama night.

"There will be wild music,

"and Lion and Penguin and Crocodile and Giraffe and Octopus too.

"And a prize for the grooviest pyjamas.

"PS. You are such a cheeky monkey, are your pyjamas cool and funky?"

"all winter long, I'm hibernating.

"That's a lot of sleep without waking.

"when I wake up for breakfast in the spring.

Party day is finally here.

Polly Jean is so excited to see all the animals she's invited.

She's made a prize fit for a king or queen

for the wildest pyjamas there have ever been.

There's music and dancing and games and cake

and all the wildness they can make!

Soon, it's pyjama-judging time.

And all of the animals stand in line.

Polly Jean looks from one to the next.

Each pair is so good... But whose is best?

But wait!

What's this? They're all in a huddle.

Polly Jean's judging is now in a muddle.

The animals chatter. Well, what a to-do. And then jump up and shout,

"The winner is...you!"
