Most people like puppies and kittens

Furry with waggly tails

But I like my pets to be different

I want spiders and beetles and snails

I'm not scared of an earwig or woodlice

Or slugs that leave slithery trails

I think all minibeasts are fantastic

Some are smaller than my fingernails

Ants make me look like a giant

They make me feel all ticklish too

Together they are like a small army

They always have work to do

I love counting the legs of a spider

And spotting a worm in the ground

No matter how hard you listen...

(You'll never hear them make a sound)

Don't show me a hamster or guinea pig

They are not my cup of tea

I prefer all those things creepy-crawly

Minibeasts are just right for me.

I'm leaving some treats out for my feathered friends.

Just some little nuts and seeds.

It's definitely the best way to see birds close

cos they like to come to my feeding table.
