Hello. My name is Gina. I love flowers like Lily-Rose.

Come and see my garden.

Peony roses are so beautiful!

It smells like...honey and jam.

The petals feel really soft and wet.

I love exploring in my garden. There's so much to see.

This is called a marigold.

Those flowers are so pretty. I like the yellow colour.

Look - there's a bee.

I'm lucky to have lots of flowers.

Here it is. These are my millipedes.

It's so wriggly, with lots and lots of legs!

It's really tickly.

Millipedes are funny!

Look at these daisies.

I love daisies THIS much.

This is my secret sitting tree.

I love my tree.

It's really fun spinning around. I like looking up at the trees.

Hi. I'm Ant, and I'm looking for creatures that make you squirm!

I'm on a bug hunt. Do you want to come with me?

I'm on my bug hunt today in the butterfly house.

Can you see the butterflies flying here and there?

They sometimes stop and rest awhile. They haven't got a care.

Their matching wings are beautiful and they fly so delicately.

Did you know there's a long story Of how they came to be?

Do you know what these are?

They are eggs laid by a butterfly.

Do you know what's inside them?

A caterpillar.

This is what a caterpillar looks like when it comes out of the egg.

And then,

it just eats its whole life - it eats and eats and eats.

So it starts off like that, then it eats some more and goes like that.

Then it eats even more and ends up like that.

The fatter it gets, the hairier it gets.

It's time to make a bug file.

Name - caterpillar.

They have six legs.

Lifespan - two to four weeks.

I give caterpillars a squirm rating of one out of five,

because they don't make me squirm!

I have a fascinating fact about caterpillars.

They shed their skin a few times in their life

cos they grow so quickly.

Come and see what a caterpillar looks like once it's fully grown.

When a caterpillar is fully grown, it turns into a pupa.

Look at all the pupas in the butterfly house.

Can you imagine how many butterflies there will be?

In the wild, when a caterpillar becomes a pupa,

it hangs itself on a tree branch.

It looks like a sleeping bag. Very peaceful.

The caterpillar is working hard to turn itself into a lovely butterfly.

Shall we see if we can spot some butterflies?

When a butterfly is fully grown, it bursts out of the pupa and flies.

Its wings are so light and strong. Then it's ready to lay eggs again.

It's time to make a bug file.

Time for the Green Balloon Club!

There's a very exciting message here.

It's this one. These are the Eco Warriors. They have video cameras.

They film in their school garden. Let's see what they're up to today.

This is our pond.

Come and see inside.

We have many animals.

That's a pond snail. They're very common in ponds.

There's a pond-skater, as you can see.

-Where?

-Skating away.

It's very camera-shy. Look.

BOTH: This is our wildlife area.

-Have you caught anything, Jamie?

-No.

This is what we've caught so far.

There's a dragonfly nymph,

a water boatman and other creatures, such as a tadpole...

..a pond-skater, also known as a boatman.

This is our hibernation area.

Hibernation is when animals sleep for the winter.

A hedgehog might sleep in here, but not until the winter.

Not all animals hibernate.

There's hedgehogs and bears, but we don't have any bears in here!

Hello. This is our badger sett.

We only just discovered

that we had a badger in our wildlife area.

A badger sett is a series of tunnels

which can lead all the way through the wildlife area.

It's interesting to see them come out and make footprints in the sand.

They're asleep. They're nocturnal.

That means they sleep during the day and come out at night.

They look very cute, but they can be dangerous.

Their claws can reach up to 10cm long.

That's longer than my finger.

We are going to get money

to have a night-vision camera

so that we may be able to film the badgers

at night when they come out.

Let's take a look in the hole.

Let's see if we can find a badger.

Our park pond likes to ripple and glimmer.

Geese enter the water like professional swimmers.

GEESE HONK

The edge of the pond is lined with trees.

A busy water city, full of things to see.

Swans swim with their heads held high,

gliding across the water gracefully.

Seagulls perform acrobatics in the sky,

squawking really loudly.

Ducks paddle with their webbed feet.

They wait for seeds and bread to eat.

They groom their feathers with their beak.

It's important they look smart and sleek.

It exercises the mind as well as the body. Dogs are very intelligent.

Oh, big climb! All the way down to the bottom.

She HAS done it before. She's a natural.

I'll hold her here and you go down to the other end of the tunnel.

Look through the tunnel and call her. Make sure she can see you.

This one can be dangerous. We'll have to make sure she goes slowly.

You stay that side and I'll stay this side so she can't fall off.

We've got to make her wait in the middle because it has to move.

Put your hand in and out. Fantastic! Look at that.

Curled in her basket, Skipper is dreaming.

Wow! Skipper's come face to face with a family of African elephants.

They use them like fans, to keep cool.

are always on the move, with the big grandmother in charge of the group.
