by painting and wallpapering the walls and varnishing the floors.

Before painting, a decorator covers everything with

dust sheets so the paint doesn't drip where it isn't meant to go.

Before painting a wall, decorators fill all the holes

with filling plaster, so the surface is smooth.

They will also sand a wooden floor to make it smooth

before painting it with varnish.
